Craft Omakase Austin Reviews from The Last Year
Returned to Craft for a special birthday dinner, and just
Returned to Craft for a special birthday dinner, and just like our first visit we absolutely loved the experience again. The team pays incredible attention to detail and nails every bite and sip. I did take pictures this time (versus my first visit) but again not many because the team really emphasizes eating bites as soon as they're plated (and who am I to argue with artists?!) This is by far one of the best Omakase we've ever been to and certainly a top TOP pick for Austin.
Expertly executed, high-quality but non-stuffy omakase
Expertly executed, high-quality but non-stuffy omakase experience in Austin. You're greeted in an ante-room/lounge area where you check in and are given your choice of complimentary alcoholic or non-alcoholic cocktail. Once everyone is there, you're guided to the dining area which is counter style seating that surrounds Chefs Charlie and Nguyen. This is definitely a more traditional omakase, with most of the courses being nigiri, with a couple of composed dishes sprinkled in. Everything from start to finish was excellent. The quality of the fish was impeccable, but the standout to me was actually the sushi rice (which for those in the know is what sushi is REALLY about). Perhaps the best sushi rice I've ever had...cooked perfectly with an excellent texture and flavor. The perfect base for the high quality fish that sits on top of it. The service from arrival to completion was impeccable. All of the staff here are true professionals. I also liked that the atmosphere was convivial and casual. The chefs are happy to chat with you while they're making your food and were very open to questions and small talk. A great place to have a great meal.
This was just spectacular in every way.
Every course was varied, balanced, and perfectly executed in terms of flavor and quality, and the team's service was as kind and attentive as you would expect for a restaurant of this level. Loved the wine pairings as well. Definitely looking forward to returning!
We have been on the hunt to find an Omakase that can
We have been on the hunt to find an Omakase that can compete with our Austin fave (Otoko on SoCo), and Craft may just be it! Its location is not easy to find - nestled behind a chipotle/starbucks and chilis it's definitely a hidden door into a fantastic dining experience. Seats are limited and reservations are a must (I think they mention they release reservations about a month in advance). Once inside, you're greeted with a welcome drink (alcoholic or non); we chose the alcoholic version. It was a delightful, sweet sake spritzer. Seating in the dining area happens once the chefs are ready - guests are led into the intimate dining area one party at a time. Everyone gets a front row seat to the chefs and the food preparations. Each area is equipped with adorable cat dining accessories (super cute chopstick holders and a plate to hold your cloth the clean your fingers in between). The omakase was impressive - 20+ bites. You are given a menu to follow along with each bite/dish. A majority of the dishes were sushi - absolutely delicious and super fresh. The sushi rice was also superb. We also had 4 "spoon dishes" that broke up the sushi bites perfectly. Honestly, I've got no criticisms for this experience - it was absolutely on par with Otoko. We thoroughly enjoyed every bite (and the chefs were incredibly accommodating - we both dislike uni so we were provided with an alternative bite when the uni was being prepared). If you love great Omakase and are looking for your next very fancy date night, this is the place. I didn't take any pictures because I truly wanted to be in the moment so you'll just have to take my word that each plate was beautiful and tasted as good as it was pretty. It's a fancy pants place so be sure to dress the part if you do get lucky enough to go!

I've been to Craft Omakase multiple times and have loved every meal. The food is fantastic with particular attention paid to the rice (as it should be at any sushi restaurant). The staff is warm and the experience is a ton of fun. Craft has shot to the top of my list of sushi restaurants in Austin and is absolutely worth a visit.

It is difficult to imagine a way in which Craft could've made my experience better. The amount of care and thought that went into every bit of our meal -- from the care for the quality of the food, the attention to ambiance and experience, to the service and the ability to teach me more about things like sake and dry aging fish -- made me look forward to being able to head to Craft next time I'm in town.
One of the best Omakase places in Austin.
Excellent service and superior fish. A definite must.
For the price, the service was fantastic, but the food was
For the price, the service was fantastic, but the food was fine -- above average for sure. Across the 22 courses there were four bites that I would consider to be quite good and worth revisiting at the end of the main service. However you aren't presented with the option to order additional pieces a la carte which was a bit disappointing. I came prepared to eat and drink well. The service was great and attentive, no complaints there. As someone who values building a relationship with their sushi plug, the interpersonal aspect of dining here felt polite but fleeting. Even Chef Mike at Tsuke Edomae will repeat his story, methodology and sourcing of ingredients with some passion to offer you a reason to give a damn and remember your meal, whether it's your first time or fifth visit in a year. The 6 couples in attendance mostly spoke amongst themselves with the occasional interjection on the next course without any further context on the intention behind the dish or nuances behind some of the ingredients or preparation. Highlight dishes included the tuna tartare over nori tart. This was probably one of the standout bites of the night, even better than otoro with caviar .. and that says alone says volumes about where some dishes shined. The gai lan dish with mushroom and brown butter, suma katsuo (bonito), and hotate (scallop) were all quite nice and I would have enjoyed the opportunity to order another bite if available. Ultimately, our dining experience was fine. I don't think there was a standout dish that would encourage me to come back compared to the growing saturation of premium omakase options in Austin. At least Tare has a tuna negitoro over chiccharron bite that left a considerable impression on me and I enjoyed the opportunity to order at least two more rounds of it before we ever the night. For this price, we enjoyed the experience but I doubt my wife and I would be rushing to go back.
Great omakase without lots of sauces .
If you want to taste the fish instead of sauces, this is one of the best place to be now. Second best, Otoko :)!

Wow wow! I was able to score an omakase reservation while in town and so glad I chose Craft. The owners are the chefs, all formerly Uchiko staff. The combination in value, quality and presentation will have me back again!
One of the top five meals in Austin, hands down.
My husband and I recently went to Otoko and were thrilled with our experience there, feeling that it edged out even Uchi and Uchiko. And then we tried Craft Omakase, which set the bar even higher - something I didn't even know was possible. The 22-course meal was a consistent delight, but what I loved most of all is that each course felt like a playful discovery. Every item on the menu was thought through carefully to deliver the absolute best experience in every bite, especially when it comes to flavor and texture. I loved how the courses pulled you in different directions in terms of exciting flavors, then culminated in an unbelievably strong, creamy, heavy-hitting finish. On top of that, the group of chefs and service staff were attentive - yes, but refreshingly down-to-earth when describing each dish. It made the whole experience feel both decadent and accessible at the same time. The only downside to mention is that they don't have a liquor license (beer and wine only), which disappointed my husband who loves a good cocktail. Perhaps the team is working on this? We will definitely be back either way.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome
to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
