Horrible! THIS IS FOODIE SANTA CRUZ! We know how seafood is supposed to taste and what crap tastes like. So do the owners. The steak was tiny, chewy, and overcooked. This writer had Lobster Thermador. Taste and texture were like having a premade frozen dish. The menu states it suppose to have Scallops, Crab, and Shrimp. No exaggeration, NOT ONE SCALLOP in the dish. I didn't even find a tiny piece of a bit of scallop. I am being generous when I write that it had less than a tablespoon of pre-cooked crab stirred into the dish. There were six very tiny COCKTAIL SHRIMP in each and some SHRIMP BITS. We both counted the tiny cocktail-sized shrimp. The parmesan cheese used in the Seafood Thermador had the consistency of the type sold in a plastic shaker, not the kind you grate as you go. This is easy to spot because this parmesan cheese did not melt into the sauce--parm gravel consistency. Another had scallops. A $30 dish that had SIX previously frozen scallops of the size you find at Costco in the frozen seafood section sold in bulk or a Chinese Buffet in San Jose. Thus, each small, not medium, not large scallops cost $5. We knew that they were previously frozen and were still wet when they were cooked because there was absolutely no crust or char on either side, and all were very chewy from being overcooked. The menu stated the dish came with Jasmine rice. The rice looked like white long-grain and tasted like it too. It had absolutely no flavor. I wondered if the rice was purchased premade. We would have returned the food and walked out if we were not celebrating a special occasion. Growing up here, we celebrated every milestone at Crow's Nest. I still remember what I had the evening of June 6, 1979, for my high school graduation meal--I ordered my go-to, "Surf and Turf," with a sirloin steak and very large, perfectly cooked medallion scallops with a beautiful crust and baked potato and broccoli crowns. Some of you reading this remember that entre. Never ever thought I would say, "I WILL NEVER BE BACK!"
