Crustacean Beverly Hills Reviews from The Last Year
Their food is never a let down.
Such a beautiful experience with their ambiance and overall excellent service. They really take the time to make sure you have a great experience. All of my big moments are celebrated here for a reason, and their GARLIC NOODLES changed my life. I break my carb diet for those only!!!!! Always have and always will!! Impeccable seafood and the drinks are amazing.
Yana at Crustacean took great care of my girlfriend and I.
the food was fabulous and her service was five star.
The food is remarkable.
So unique! Try the tuna cigars and the Jerusalem artichoke soup! Our server, Yana, was so welcoming and personable that she elevated our experience. This place is one of a kind!
We arrived before our actual reservation time, but we were
We arrived before our actual reservation time, but we were seated immediately - probably because not a lot of people were there because it was raining so hard. Nevertheless, we were acknowledged as soon as we set foot into the restaurant. We had a nice server attend to us who gave us excellent suggestions. We got the tuna cigars with caviar, the A Sum Family Tree dim sum, the garlic noodles with colossal prawns, the Dungeness crab, the fried rice and the table side ice cream. The tuna cigars (it's only two pieces per order - so $10 per cigar) were divine. I don't know how they did it but they made all those ingredients work so well together. The saltiness of the caviar, the cream, the texture of the tuna against the crunch of the feuille de brick coalesced into this unforgettable flavor bomb. The presentation of the dimsum was understated but elegant. We each had a piece of the appetizers. My brother's beef skewer was chewy, but once alerted to the issue, our server brought over two skewers that were tender. The fried rice, the crab, the noodles were all delicious, but what really caught everyone by surprise was how creamy and fresh the ice cream was. We were so happy and full by the end of the meal, we didn't realize we had been at Crustacean for several hours. It was such a fun night. And a literal feast for the senses! It's such a beautiful restaurant - it's been a critical part of the Beverly Hills landscape since 1997. I'm glad it survived the pandemic and is even better than ever. I intend to visit Crustacean with friends again and again.
Called the restaurant and they said reservations are needed
Called the restaurant and they said reservations are needed even for the power lunch. Reservations were easy to make online and there was plenty of space for the next day which was a weekday. The power lunch was $39 and includes an appetizer, a main course and dessert. We ordered the steamed shrimp and lobster dumplings and the filet mignon beef satay as appetizers, the Riveye Banh Mi Pho Dip and the Cran fried rice (extra charge of $9) as the mains and the Coconut Cake and fresh fruit in coconut milk sago for dessert. The dumplings and beef satay were ok. The flavours were there but nothing really stood out. The beef satay was a bit on the overcooked side and was not very hot. The crab fried rice was good and had lots of crab and had a very light flavour. The banh mi dip was excellent and the potato chips were so tasty and crunchy and the pho soup was sooo good. We also ordered the garlic noodles for $17 (regular price was $22). The garlic noodles were good and is their signature dish, although today's noodles were a tad bit on the sweet side. The coconut cake was very good and very light. The coconut milk sago with fresh fruit was good as well. This power lunch set is definitely a good deal and quite filling overall. Service was very attentive overall.
For the price this place is a nightmare.
The food is decent, but not incredible. The bathroom was not well kept. The jasmine ice cream reminded the men in the group of the smell of the ULINE urinal cake. One of the waitstaff told us that the Lychee in the Lichee martini was a white olive. For over $650 we barely had a full meal between six of us. Buyer beware. Go to Alhambra.
We went for their power lunch - $40 for a 3-course lunch
We went for their power lunch - $40 for a 3-course lunch including an appetizer, entree, and dessert. A bit pricey for an average lunch but we've been wanting to try it for a while! Portions are small but surprisingly filling. I started with the filet mignon beef satay, ramen cacio e pepe, and beignets with ice cream added, with a black tea to finish. I got to taste a few of my friends dishes including the crab fried rice (I can see why this one's a hit!), lemon white fish (was a fan of this one), prawn mango salad, and their desserts - coconut cake and chocolate cookie (yum). You won't be disappointed with the flavors but it is pretty pricey. Service was great although they do try to upsell and ambiance is nice. We sat in the outside patio next to the street and it felt very nice. I do intend to come back! It's a great place to come solo or with friends and family.
I took my wife here for a first date and it was the best
I took my wife here for a first date and it was the best experience ever. We relive and relove every visit. Food is always good and very consistent. The service is top tier and the ambiance will give you everything to cherish. Highly recommend Ann's favorite garlics noodles and garlic dungeon crab. Yumm.
The food was amazing.
The Aviance was beautiful. The service was excellent. The drinks were exceptional they provided excellent customer service very friendly and professional definitely will be going back. I attended my 63rd birthday. I highly recommend this place.
Went for lunch today for the first time.
I had tried Anqi before but not this restaurant. Loved the decor and service was great. I know website mentions dress code recommendations but for lunch there were people wearing regular clothes including jeans/tank top and even some in their sweatpants. Power lunch menu- highly recommended for $39!! It's a steal. We had to order extra cigar and garlic noodles of course
Crustacean located in Beverly Hills.
Easy parking. I came here few times and always enjoy it. Ambiance is great with cool decor, food tastes yummy with presentations. It's a bit pricey but worth it. I also like their desert and cocktails.
This spot can do no wrong! food is fantastic.
service is superb and the ambiance is sexy
Not the experience you think you are paying for
It wasn’t the experience we expected. The gent you check in with is young and rude-no smile. Maybe it’s the price point. We made the reservation almost 20 days in advance for a romantic birthday dinner. They never acknowledged the birthday, our food came out cold, we had to keep asking for more water, and it totally wasn’t what you would expect for the 5 star price point.
Average - Underwhelming
Average, but overpriced. I was a fan of Crustacean in years past but my visit this week was underwhelming. The garlic noodles seemed almost bland, salt and pepper calamari was good, but average. Prices for both seemed a bit high. Likely won't return as the flavors seemed to be missing. Service was good, but the dinner was unremarkable.
Best meal in La!
Outstanding meal, service and ambiance! Highly recommend this restaurant! We loved every dish, wine and dessert. Fantastic service!
Altogether average.
Average food. Dumbed down Vietnamese. Poor cocktails. OK service.. Ridiculous prices. Would rather have eaten somewhere a little more authentic.
Beware, this restaurant is experience major problems.
Visited Crustacean on July 2, 2023 for dinner for a 70th Birthday celebration . This has always been one of my favorite restaurants but this evening the restaurant was so not functioning. Waited 20 minutes for cocktails and they were wrong. Waited over an hour and half for appetizers and they actually forgot 2 dishes. Dinner arrived and they forgot one dinner so one in our party had to wait 20 minutes for their dinner, by that time, all the others had finished their meal. Then it was time for desert and this time 2 out of the three deserts were forgotten. They did not get one course correct. The service was the worst I ever experienced in any restaurant, yet alone one at a restaurant of this caliber. I will not be returning nor will the other 3 couples that joined me. The service was so bad, that no one really enjoyed their food and it ruined the 70th birthday celebration. Beware this place is terrible.
Hope skip and a jump from rodeo
We started at the bar for a coffee the bartender passed us a menu had to try the food it was on point outstanding being a chef myself I’m fussy no fuss there. Our drinks were also out standing the dragons daughter great. Mix a awesome experience thank you will be back
Spectacular
Amazing food - supposedly French Vietnamese but frankly it doesn’t really resemble that (compared to French Vietnamese in Vietnam for example). But food is just amazing we had the crab garlic noodles and the lobster garlic noodles - absolutely perfection. Had mussels to start. Also just awesome. This restaurant absolutely gets it right. Service was also amazing. Server served us food given that it was a business dinner. So proactive - almost never seen before.

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
