Had the Gin Mare martini (fabulous) and the tomato salad and tuna tartare to start, lobster pasta and the chicken dish for mains. All were perfect and the staff was very helpful with recommendations. Highly recommend!

I quite enjoyed my meal here! Staff was so friendly and they were able to seat us right away despite being fairly full. We ordered the ravioli, zucchini squash, and focaccia to start and all were delicious. I think the zucchini squash was our favorite! We also ordered the lasagna and pesto pasta. I loved how many vegetarian options they had! I will say this is on the pricier side for the size you get but overall the amount of food we ordered was perfect for 3 people. I would definitely return if back in this area!

Me and my girlfriends wanted to try something new for dinner so we landed here. It's located in meatpacking, and on a lovely summer evening sitting outside is a must. The restaurant was pretty full when we arrived around 7pm. We were seated promptly and the entire staff is very courteous and friendly and warm. I did look at some good reviews prior so I had high expectations going here. We ordered a few dishes to share. We started with fried ravioli, eggplant Parmesan, and the octopus. All of the appetizers came out at the same time. The octopus was amazing - soft and mouthwatering, cooked to perfection. Everything else was good but the portions here are small so be mindful. It is also quite expensive, a steak can run you upwards of $300. For main we ordered a pasta dish called the Orrechiette All'Arrabbiata and shared that. It was decent but I was only tasting the overwhelming tomato sauce flavor and cheese and not much else. The pineapple margarita was excellent and I enjoyed two of them. We also had the broccolini which was actually very tasty. For desserts we got the pistachio gelato, semolina cake and tiramisu. The dessert portions were actually decent and it was delicious. The ambience inside the restaurant is beautiful as well. This is a nice spot for a birthday party or something of the sorts but as for the food and price points, there are many Italian restaurants you can try elsewhere. I feel this place has lots of hype on social media and that is the main draw over the actual food served.
Be the first to ReplyLove, love, loved my meal here recently.
Usually the aesthetic, instagram-worthy, restaurants you see online are just that---aesthetic and instagram worthy with decent food but Cucina Alba is definitely not that. The focaccia bread with the whipped ricotta was unreal and the star of the show was this eggplant lasagna. It was absolutely amazing and I can't stop talking about it. Perfect seasoning, perfect texture, perfect everything. You couldn't even tell that there wasn't any meat. Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to impress. Can't wait to be back.

I went with my friend last night, sitting outside, and the service was great. I can't recall the name of the server but he, and the woman also attending to the table (I believe the busser,) were super attentive. Menu should really have some descriptions lol, but the server was great about explaining it. Food was good.

Came shortly after opening on a Monday because my friend really wanted to get that elusive secret pizza. We didn't get the pizza. However that only meant that we got to try it some other things on the menu. Got the tuna tartare, focaccia and two pastas. If I had to come back to get one of those items again, it'd be the focaccia. I've never tasted focaccia with a crispy yet delicately thin crust that was soft and chewy. The creamed herbed ricotta that was served with the bread made it even better. I loved all the interior decoration, the natural light and the cream themed interior. One aspect that I didn't like was the fact that the menu was not very descriptive so it left me guessing what I was actually eating in my pasta. Service was friendly, Loved the uniforms.

We absolutely loved this place!! Food was delicious, staff was so friendly and amazing! A great location too, the ambiance was so inviting, loved the dim lighting! We sat at the bar top and it was so fun to be immersed in what was going on behind the scenes in the kitchen as well!! Overall it was a 10/10 experience. We got the Focaccia Della Casa to start, Then had the lobster spaghetti and the linguine primavera

FINALLY - folks at the door who are nice, welcoming and accomodating. Where did they find them!? This reliable neighborhood favorite never disappoints. Service is excellent - food is even better. AND, at the risk of sounding like my parents... THANK you for moderating the music and allowing your guests to converse comfotably. The place is really lively - but clearly the folks running things don't feel they have to amp the place up to give the appearance of being a "happening" place. Instead, the place is lively, bright and feels like everyone is having a good time. Great food, excellent drinks - and conversation! HIGHLY recommend.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful interior, very warm.
Octopus and Artichoke were good, as they meet the expectations. Escarole was meh. Monte Bianco described as cauliflower souffle but it's really a dense, heavy cream flan. The opposite, not a fan. Lasagna was really good, crispy on the edges and bottom which I like. Ciuffolotti Trapanese - waiter said it's a pesto and tomato pasta? Couldn't see or taste pesto.. Romanesco side were simple and tasty. Fennel Gratin was heavy.

If you rated the food because they serve cliches then it should be highly rated. Unfortunately I came for the food. I never trust restaurants where owners have shoes with no socks. Even though the space is pleasant - reminds me of what I want an airport lounge at JFK feels like. Unfortunately the only thing high on the food front was the price for flavorless entrees. When someone pulled out scissors to cut my burrata I wanted to take it from them and stab them. Ridiculous gimmick and I am an adult who knows how to cut my own food. I don't take pictures.

The Long Island duck was my favorite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Definitely coming back
Be the first to ReplyLiterally my favorite Italian food.
I've been recommending it to everyone. Our server was fantastic and she explained everything and thank goodness she told us about the specials because holy crap that was the best sauce! Ask for the specials and get what the server recommends! Ambiance is so pretty and well decorated, such a nice place!

Such a beautiful space to share a meal with friends & family. Felt like I was on vacation in Italy. The staff is so kind & attentive. Incredible flavors, the scallops are a must try ! I shall be back.

One of my new favorite Italian spots in the city! Despite being so far off to the West side, it's worth the trek. First thing you'll notice upon entering Alba, is how sleek and sceney the space is. The high ceilings and dim lit space adds a level of class that is missed by similarly styled Italian restaurants like Bad Roman.. which imo misses the mark. Ambiance aside, the food here is really really tasty. Our server was excellent, she checked in often and never made us feel rushed. She was extremely helpful in guiding us through the menu and providing her recommendations. It was a deliciously fantastic meal to help kick off the Holiday season. ANTIPASTI - Pane E Formaggio (focaccia, whipped ricotta) :: the bread was beyond delicious, fluffy and nicely seasoned. A must get! - Eggplant Parmigiana (ricotta) :: not my favorite dish of the night, but interesting flavor profile... lacked a little bit of salt - Artichokes Alla Giudia (roasted lemon, garlic) :: damn good! One of the best dishes of the night, nicely roasted artichokes packed with flavor INSALATE - Autumn Chopped :: really interesting mix of veggies and fruit (squash, apples), but it works!! Great combination of sweet and savory, the dressing was also out of this world PASTA - Rigatoni w/ Seafood :: red sauce rigatoni with chunks of shrimp, mussels and clams all in a red sauce. Nicely sauced, not over the top which allows the flavor of the seafood to rise to the top. The pasta was also cooked perfectly al dente. PRINCIPALI - Halibut (gremolata butter) :: Great way to end the meal, nicely cooked, finely seasoned and paired with some sort of vinegar drenched squash side. Combined together it help balance the dish. Really nicely done! DESSERT - Chocolate / Hazelnut Gelato & Citrus Sorbet :: no better way to end such a savory meal than with some delicious gelato/sorbet. Great palate cleanser and the quality was top notch. Apparently they get this from "L'arte del Gelato" at Chelsea Market just a few blocks away.. so taking points away for not making in-house. Nonetheless, damn good
Be the first to ReplyAlba transports guests to an urbanite's Italian holiday.
A restaurant where the food, ambiance, service is fantastic. They can work on the pace of the food so you don't feel overwhelmed and rushed. But beyond that the vibes are on point. Worth checking out. Cheers
Be the first to ReplyI went with a few friends for our annual holiday
I went with a few friends for our annual holiday celebration. The space was beautiful and the food was really good. We shared a bunch of things to start. The whipped ricotta was divine. We also really liked the chicken alla diavola. Our server was lovely. Very helpful in recommendations and in pacing our meal. We like to take our time and not rush and they accommodated us. The one area that lacked from our perspective was the front of house. They were very unaccommodating. The bar was quite crowded when we got there so we asked to go right to our table (which was ready) to have a drink while we waited for the last of us to arrive. They tried to give some song and dance about having to vacate the table in what amounted to around 90 minutes. In the end, the didn't evict us. But it really started the night off on the wrong foot and is the one thing that will dissuade me from going back.
Be the first to ReplyHey there! I had a reservation on November 24th.
I know it's been 2 weeks but I need to shout out this amazing place. First of all, I arrived 3 hours early for my reservation and the beautiful girls from the host stand very kindly offered me a place to sit. We sat at the bar and the bartenders made the best cocktails. I also want to thank the bartenders so much for their patience (my friend's husband is very picky.)The staff never stopped your kindness and patience. Later that night I went to the bathroom and the heel from my loafer came out lol. I thought nobody saw me but 5 min after the manager of the restaurant came to me and said, "you might need this". He gave me glue for my broken shoe. I've been in many places in nyc and this is the first time that I experienced this kind of service. Last but not least, the food was amazing. I fell in love with this place. Beautiful lighting, stunning interior design. Thank you guys so much, I'm looking forward to becoming a regular of this amazing place.
Be the first to ReplyI love this place.
The service is great. The fresh made bread with whipped ricotta is amazing. The tuna tartare with golden beets is the perfect balance of savory with a slight sweet element from the beets. The bean and kale soup was flavorful and a decent portion for soup. Also my favorite is the eggplant. It has the looked of traditional eggplant Parmesan but this is not your regular everyday thing this is a real treat. The eggplant taste grilled with a smoky flavor, smooth cheese texture and light sauce. With some light toasted bread crumb topping.
Be the first to ReplySolid food but it depends what you get.
Is this place necessarily hype-proportionate? I don't really think so but the meal was still enjoyable.BLACK TRUFFLE POACHED BURRATA If you're a fan of burrata you will def enjoy this. We also got the bread appetizer to have something to pair with it since the restaurant itself doesn't do bread service. Unfortunate circumstance. I like burrata but not in love with it so this was just ok for me. The cherry tomatoes add a nice brightness and pop of texture in an otherwise creamy, smooth milky texture and experience.PESTO - this was very savory, and I can't believe I'm gonna say this but too savory? I've had lots of pesto and have made it multiple times and something about the flavor was just off - it starts to taste like pesto but then it tapers and becomes this strong savoriness or some other flavor that overpowers anything else. Also I don't believe that straight noodles (a pasta type with no ridges) is the best pairing for a sauce like pesto. The texture was a little overcooked and thus too soft.AGNOLOTTI ** this was really good and had multiple dimensions of flavor including the truffle but also some sweetness and savoriness. Agnolotti was done al dente and had a satisfying chewiness. If you come here I would get this.
Be the first to ReplyMy experience dining at Cucina Alba was awful.
The service was terrible, they were trying to rush us out of the restaurant the entire time when I was catching up with friends and celebrating my brithday. They kept pouring half glasses of wine in still half full glasses to ultimately charge us for 17 glasses which is pretty absurd (if we had actually consumed that much we probably wouldn't be able to stand! Ha we were totally fine). Then right before my birthday dessert was coming out the manager rudely came to our table to say we couldn't order anything else. I think because we had prepaid $700 through the Dorsia app and there was a guaranteed 20% so they had no reason to provide good service. Even when we got up to leave we asked the bartender what the problem was and he said we definitely didn't do anything wrong and was just as confused.

My fiancรฉ and I really wanted to like this place as we came across it from mutual referrals. We opted to book this restaurant to celebrate the Q1 success of my fiancรฉ's businesses. However, the racial prejudice that accompanied our experience leaves little room to label this establishment as noteworthy. My fiancรฉ booked a 10pm reservation for the dining area. Upon promptly checking in the racist hostess informed that we would have to wait at the bar until an available table opened. No problem. 10 minutes into waiting she comes over to inform us that our reservation is for the, "chef's counter," and not the, "dining area." She then proceeds to tell us that she'd be happy to accommodate us at a table but warns that the kitchen is to close shortly. My fiancรฉ pulls up the reservation to which blatantly states, "dining area." We ask the server to bring back the hostess to where we're seated to clarify and she informs that the "chef's counter," is the dining area. For clarification purposes: If a booking site offers you multiple options for seating arrangements it's because there are various areas to sit. If your chosen area could be substituted for other areas there'd be no need to list out the various seating assignments to begin with. Not only did the hostess BLATANTLY LIE to us about a reservation that we (clearly) made but she then proceeded to try to recover from her first lie by lying AGAIN about what the option of seating that we selected meant. To make matters worse, patrons of a different racial background sitting beside us had no reservation but were able to move to a table before we were during this entire ordeal. Note to Owner: If you're going to open an establishment in NYC in 2023, have enough common sense to understand that your crowd will encompass the melting pot that is NYC and NOT just your racist ideology of what you consider to be "perfect ambiance." 0 STARS! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! & we'll be sending this out to family, friends, & followers. Silver Lining: The servers are out of this world. Customer service A+

Went here for dinner on a Friday night and it was a great time! The restaurant itself is beautiful and elegant, but not stuffy, even if it is a little hard to get to on public transportation. For food, we had the focaccia and ricotta to start which was honestly the best thing we ordered - it's a can't miss. Also ordered the meatballs which were very good. For dinner, we had the bolognese and the signature truffle fonduto pasta. Both were every good as well.Service was very friendly, although at times was a little intense when it came to clearing the tables. My friend had her plate and knife taken away mid-use because they were ready to deliver our entrees. Super strange, but done in a way that seemed like it was trying to be accommodating?Overall, I'd recommend but would say try to get a later seating as that might help with the feeling rushed through courses/places cleared.

welcoming staff--delicious food--great descriptions from server and manager--eggplant parm app is so good that's why I went back but really everything was delicious--fun room--music good but not too loud that you can't converse--all around really good spot and look forward to next visit

Had the chance to come back for my second meal at Cucina Alba. WOW. What an experience. We got to sit at the chefs counter which I would highly suggest if date night for 2. Cant go wrong with either focaccia and we loved the lobster linguine and black truffle agnolotti. We also had two deserts, can't remember the names thanks to the wine (great suggestion by the Somm). One desert was a cake with cannoli crust and the other was a white chocolate tiramisu. Unreal. Wheel me home please and thank you.
