The service was very in your face.
Not bad but just very up close and it was good but I would've liked it if the server knew personal space a bit. The food was very off key and I didn't feel the noodles were as good as people said they are so this place gets a not that awesome rating from me.

I really enjoyed my meal here! The noodles and broth were quite delicious and the chicken we ordered was crispy and cooked perfectly! A cute little restaurant with nice indoor seating. We ordered the - Beef Brisket Rice Noodle - delicious broth and noodles. Portions were generous. Since my husband and I had ordered other appetizers we probably would have been better off with just sharing one of these noodle dishes rather than ordering each our own. I only ate about a quarter of my dish and took the rest home. - Cold Sliced Cucumber Salad - super refreshing! I love cucumber salads. - 6pc chicken wings - we were really happy with the flavor and texture of these wings. Nicely cooked!- coconut juice - this was a can drink- ice tea - this was a bottle drinks (totally didn't know that when I ordered. ) I would have just opted for water because it was a really sweet ice tea. Prices were reasonable. For all of our food the bill came out to a little over $55.

We were a little skeptical when we walked in because there was only one other person there dining in. It's a nice and clean restaurant so it made us think hmmm is the food not good? We took a chance and stayed. So glad we did! The Fried Chicken is delicious. Like a 6 piece wing you would get at one of the local lounges in Chicago delicious!!!! And inexpensive. Crispy and flavorful. GET THE WINGS!!! We had noodle bowls. I had shrimp original and my daughter had beef original. They were so good and you get sooooo much! The marinated egg as a side added item was so good! The service was excellent. We have found a new spot in Chinatown to come back to.
Be the first to ReplyVery bad food, small portions.
No flavour at all!! Service was fine, barely anyone there.
Be the first to ReplyI would give a zero for this place if I could.
The rice noodles are cold with little stuff in it. It tastes like a 5-yr old who throw in some random stuff to prepare a bowl of noodle. The appetisers don't taste fresh. The waitress had this awful condescending attitude. Save your money and don't go to this place.
Be the first to ReplyEasy noodle spot with a simple menu and pretty fair prices
Easy noodle spot with a simple menu and pretty fair prices for what they offer. The restaurant is fairly quiet on a Sunday evening but not empty. The noodles themselves were nice as the weather gets cold and the ingredients are pretty straightforward. I got the beef and my gf got the fish filet to add on top of our clear original broth. The soup wasn't anything too crazy to write home about but still good for something that'll warm you up. The cucumber appetizer wasn't all that amazing but luckily the price didn't break the bank. The fried bun was great, crispy yet fluffy and always a favorite in my book. Come here for a casual noodle spot that doesn't confuse you with a long menu.

The soup is bland!!! However, what's attractive about this place is they're very fast and there's usually no line (but I think there's a reason for this?!). I did like the service and they were very nice. However, the rubbery texture of the oxtail soup just was not good!!
Be the first to ReplyI was hoping to quench my thirst for some authentic Yunnan
I was hoping to quench my thirst for some authentic Yunnan noodles but was a bit disappointed. The beef was overcooked and hard to chew. The "spicy" broth was bland and just tastes like MSG. The "sour and spicy" broth is better but just moderately so. The staff was wonderfully attentive, however, and the appetizers were delightfully redemptive.

Clean restaurant with delicious food and A+ service! I was on a food crawl in Chicago Chinatown and was so glad I tried the food here. The lady who helped us (seemed like the owner) was chatty and friendly and brought us extra plates and bowls when we said we wanted to share the noodle soup. We ordered the celery salad, edible fungus salad, and pork intestines noodle soup. Everything was flavorful and delicious. Priced super reasonably and I overall had a great experience. 10/10 recommend it
Be the first to ReplyIts just okay - not nearly good.
Takes them 2 minutes to cook up your order, you can guess the rest
Be the first to ReplyI always love getting noodles at various restaurants.
This restaurant is very delicious and I love the atmosphere. I would definitely come visit again and recommend to a friend.

I was so excited to try out this restaurant because I haven't had mixian rice noodles other than in restaurants in China, and this place did not disappoint! I got the pig intestine, which may not be for everyone, but I thought it was delicious, and there was plenty of meat. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the broth was flavorful without being too salty. The portion was also huge, and I could barely finish all of it. The server was very kind, and I didn't mind that she was less attentive than western style restaurants. My only complaint was that the chili oil was a little stale, but maybe I picked the wrong container. I would definitely come back!!
Be the first to ReplyGreat food.
We had the beef flank noodle soup. Thinly sliced beef. Clean place. Friendly. Quiet.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely HORRIBLE service! The main waitress shushed out
Absolutely HORRIBLE service! The main waitress shushed out table when we were laughing (there we only 4 other people in the restaurant...) then very rudely threw the bill at us and grabbed the cards to kick us out. It was actually unbelievable. I'm reasonable enough to understand if we were being unruly to push us along faster, but she quite literally scalded us and then forced us to leave. Not to mention the food was.. terrible. I got 3 bao buns that were stale, very sweet and unflavorful sauce and the beef looked questionable. Avoid. many good restaurants in the area, no need to support this one that is so hostile.
Be the first to ReplySo far their regular and tomato soup base is the best in
So far their regular and tomato soup base is the best in state I ever tried , so GOOD , if you like Chinese noodles soup , I will definitely recommend this noodle house , they deserve 5 stars
Be the first to ReplyHad this noodle in Toronto and the presentation is amazing.
Today is the first few days of soft opening since they opened. Customers get 10 percent off hereLarge variety of noodle dishes, mainly meat but everything looks very frssh.lots of appetizers to choose. The service is very friendly but can be a little faster .. over all very good ...I tried the spicy sour noodles yummy!! Not as much food as the one in
Be the first to ReplyReally good noodles at the Main Street in Chicago Chinatown.
Not only great food but also very affordable! Daguan Noodles are already famous given the Michelin guide mention, after you taste the food it makes complete sense for the mention. One of the most important things is the daily fresh broth used in the noodles soups. Another delicious recommendation are the pork baos, I think those are a most! Service was kind, prices, we had food for 2 and only paid $24 + 20% tip (unbelievable!)
Be the first to Replyi really liked how they used to give the ingredients in
i really liked how they used to give the ingredients in small dishes cause for some reason gave the impression that the soup was hotter/ everything was fresher, but shit still hits! i always get the sour and spicy soup with fish filets and the soup is rounded and never boring (i always wanna finish the entire bowl). they give a lot of fish which is just standard white fish filets, but it's tender and ample. there's quail eggs, corn, leeks, lettuce and more for toppings and it makes the bowl a fun fun time! noodles are slippery and so so slurpable. portions big, prices affordable (11 for a huge bowl of noodles) and their chili oil is spicy and fragrant. food comes out quick, so def stop by if you're looking for smth warm and cozy!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious.
We ate a lot of different things including buns. We both tried different noodle soups in which the ingredients are in different bowls and then combined into one. Flavors were amazing!
Be the first to ReplyIn short, the services suck and no attentive.
The environment is depressing and not clean. The food is just acceptable with nothing special to call out. It is my second time there, it has been going downhill. I will not go back.
Be the first to ReplyGot the hot and spicy rice noodle and loved it.
The soup broth was so flavorful without being overly fatty. It was loaded with a variety of toppings like quail egg, spam, thinly sliced beef, lettuce, and tofu skin. It also had a my favorite type of noodle. Also ordered the xiao long bao - the dough is not your typical thin wrapper, it's the thicker bread-like dough that comes with with vegetable or pork cabbage buns. It was incredibly tasty and brought back memories of the buns in Flushing, NY. I'll definitely come back here to try more dishes.
Be the first to ReplyI was skeptical about this place since my home town is
I was skeptical about this place since my home town is yunnan and there's never corn in rice noodles. But i do love their xiao long bao. It's not the more well known ones which is normally referred to as guan tang bao (soup dumplings) but it is actually what I grew up knowing what xiao long bao is. The filling is very close to how it taste at home. The skin is close to wow bao but because the filling is better this place beats wow bao by miles. I recommend trying it if you like bao. Other than that i cant really comment much since i didn't like anything else but the bao a long(puns intended) is enough for me to visit again. Being a chain restaurant is harder to make changes but if possible, i'd really like to see po su bao. And maybe not call the beef clam bun as baos since it's more like a sandwich and a disgrace in disguise. Like if you are chinese, you should not call a sandwich a bao. Like com'on people, let's stop calling everything with the same names so we can really embrace our food culture. Stop calling everything baos and stop calling everything dumplings lol
Be the first to ReplyFood was good and staff was friendly.
Was a little hot at times. Service was decent and attentive, but nothing outstanding for me to recommend 5 stars. Solid place to stop for noodles and bao.
Be the first to ReplyDouble Trouble, I'd give zero star if I could.
I made my thru one of their websites daguannoodlechicago.com, and long story short, it took an hour for them to figure out they didn't get my order details from the online order page, and then they have to call me to find out what did I order, which is another bad experience because they can't speak English. Order ended up came after that, but was missing 1/3 of the items in my order. Called them up and they refuse to refund the difference and insist to have it deliver tonight or tomorrow, which doesn't make sense as it is either too late and why would I want it tomorrow. The story doesn't end here, after failing to get a partial refund, I notice there is some SHARP PLASTIC in the noodle I ordered, which if I didn't notice ahead of time, it could have choked my kids. Becareful about their order, even though I kinda like their noodle, but I'd hesitate to order from them again, especially knowing they won't deal with you properly if problem comes up. I'm attaching my online order receipt, and the delivered receipt they sent, plus the sharp plastic thing that I found in the noodle.BEWARE everyone!
Be the first to ReplyFirst time we tried this noodles restaurant, we ordered
First time we tried this noodles restaurant, we ordered small meat bin and two noodles soup. The noodles came in with a record time less than 2 minutes and is taste good. As a reminder make sure you like spicy food or please let them know reduce the spice. The the bun , it stated in the menu that small soup bun which also showed the picture in the restaurant. When the bun came out is very different. So don't use the picture as guide and " the food will not look like any the picture showed in the restaurant " that was the waitress said, not me. Portion is ok for lunch.I am not sure who are those people gave 5 stars for this restaurant.
