Some of the best ramen in dc.
The wait goes quickly. Vegan friendly! Much better for small groups.

My favorite ramen to this day! Tried it first in 2019 and nothing has lived up to it ever since
Be the first to ReplyCozy little place, amazing food.
Our group split dumplings and the ramen was delicious, good flavor and heat. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Be the first to ReplyWe were in the area to attend Awesome Con 2024.
Food courts at the event were packed. So we decided to try Daikaya Ramen as it was just 10 mins walk from the event. We got very lucky as they had a table for 4. I have heard that this place is usually packed. Very fortunate. As soon as we got seated, there was a decent line. Service was great. We had a couple of questions regarding their specials. Our waiter was very nice to explain the specials to us and also recommended some things to us. Most of us ordered the spicy miso. It's so good. I have never been able to complete a bowl of ramen, but I crushed this one. It was so delicious. Highly recommend this one. Not too spicy. Spice levels are 5/10. Price is nominal as well. Similar pricing to other ramen places. Ambiance is cool. It's a small place. They have a combination of booths, standing and rotating seats. I will definitely go back again.
Be the first to ReplyThis is my favorite ramen I've found in the DMV.
I've tried several different types of their ramen and has loved each one. I love their spice bomb! Even though they don't have reservations, the wait is never very long. It's not a place to just sit and hang out. No frills and family style seating.
Be the first to ReplyOkay ramen a little pricey.
I had okay service they did not really check up on you. They can't really seat larger parties of 4. I was in a group of 5 and I had to sit in the edge. When we were heading out and we paid the lady chased us out saying why we left a small tip. Keep in mind they automatically charge you extra to help with cost of living. I was extremely disappointed and taken back when she got mad that we did not tip extra. I am extremely confused on why she would even go out of her way to run after us.

I must say this is some of the best Ramen I've ever eaten, although the restaurant is the size of a closet the food is worth, squeezing in for
Be the first to ReplyI loved Daikaya years ago when I lived in the city.
This time however - the soup was bland. Noodles and toppings were okay. I left most of the meat untouched. The skill and care that went into each bowl just isn't there. At this price point, I expected better.

Stubbled across thos after my movie got canceled across the street. Great drinks and skewer up stairs and Ramen downstairs. A Gem

Twenty minute wait, but food was amazing and atmosphere aesthetically pleasing. The room was a little bit loud but overall good experience. 10/10 recommend.

Ramen's tastes so so ,not as good as other ramen places, didn't do anything to deserve a 20% automatic tip for 4 people.
Be the first to ReplySooo yummy.
I always get the vegan ramen and add the veggie spice bomb. The noodles are to die for, k dream about them.
Be the first to ReplyFirst off, it says here call to order.
I called and they said they don't take orders over the phone- has to be online. Next, anything to go they will give you cold ramen. AND THEY MAKE YOU WAIT MORE THAN 30 mins for take out!!! Takeout food has service fee even if you didn't dine in!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food and service.
Definitely would return. Nice ambiance too!Ramen was delicious.

Great and fast service and super flavorful ramen! No wait for lunch on a weekday but expect to wait for dinner on the weekend. Would highly recommend the spicy miso ramen! And always make sure to add a marinated egg
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely delicious! My favorite ramen in the DMV area.
Although they don't take reservations, the turn over is quick so the wait isn't too long.

I've been to this location twice and both times I had an amazing experience. If your looking for space between you and other customers this isn't going to be the location for you. However! If you are looking for awsome food and potential conversation with your neighbor then you are in the right spot. The Ramen was amazingggg. I had the SHOYU Ramen as well as the MUGI-MISO. I will certainly be back for more.

THE RAMEN WAS ON POINT!!! it's a cozy little spot that makes you sit next to a random neighbor like a typical international spot. The servers were pretty nice too. I enjoyed myself and I intend to go back.

Every item was delicious and beautifully presented. Traditional tea is a must and I was very impressed
Be the first to ReplyAwesome Ramen spot.
Popped in right after a Wizard's game and it was great! They don't take reservations but we were lucky enough to be seated right away. I've never been to Japan but it gives me the vibe that the restaurant is meant to replicate what a more traditional ramen bar would be like. It's not a very large space - there is bar seating and then a bunch of long shareable tables (you will likely be sitting next to and across from others depending how large your group is - we were just a party of 2). The ramen was absolutely delicious and comes out very fresh and quick. A couple sitting in front of us were in and out from being sat to having the check paid in like 20 minutes! I got the spicy miso ramen which I loved, and my boyfriend got the shio ramen which he loved. I believe all their ramens come with fresh egg noodles, ground pork and char siu but you can add on additional toppings/sides for an additional price. We both added on an egg. The broths were very flavorful and egg noodles were delicious and tasted homemade. Service was also great - friendly and prompt. We definitely would come back! There's also an upstairs portion of the restaurant that takes reservations and instead of ramen has a different menu of various small plates which we would love to try in the future.
Be the first to ReplyThis is one of the best ramen places I've ever eaten at.
Incredibly friendly staff, quick service and really amazing food. Great buzz in the restaurant. My only complaint would be the wait time but given how good the food was, not surprising.

I'm very picky with ramen choice, especially coming from New York. This is by far the best ramen I've had since moving to the DMV area! Very flavorful. I get the spicy miso ramen. It's always packed and a wait. I like eating at the bar so you can see them personally make your ramen. It's right across from Capital arena. Only reason it's not a 5, because they gyoza dumplings are not something I would order again. So I'm going with a 4.5

The best veg ramen I've ever had - the broth did not taste like anything was missing and the veggies (especially the sweet fat mushrooms) were delicious! Props to the staff who work hard and are quick and kind, expert multitaskers!

Food: okayService: goodI put my name on the list here after many raving reviews from other people promoting this as the best ramen spot in DC and one of the best in the country. The staff here was so wonderful and friendly and I like their ambiance. We waited about 35 minutes for a table for 4, on a sunny Saturday spring morning.I had their seasonal ChiuHai cocktail and it was delicious. Bright and crisp and good on a nice day. I got their spicy miso ramen and it unfortunately was just okay in my opinion. The pork chasu slices were small, which were offset with ground pork that didn't taste fresh. It also had very little spice, which was disappointing for a spicy miso. I do recommend adding veggies, at minimum corn, because other than excessive sprouts there weren't other veggies. Noodles were great though - wish I had ordered extras.

Google told me to go to Daikaya to have very authentic Japanese ramen in DC. I arrived around noon on Monday, April 4th. People were waiting. I was solo, then found a counter seat. The menu made me feel like inflation. The ramen noodles were around $16.5! I was from Texas. Everything was expensive here in the Capital. The mugi- miso noodles were so authentic. I loved it. If you are going to visit here with your friends, you might wait. But it is definitely worth waiting if you want to try authentic Japanese noodles.
