Diamond Palace Chinese Seafood Diamond Bar Reviews from The Last Year
I ordered over the phone and the food was ready in 20
I ordered over the phone and the food was ready in 20 minutes. The parking lot was empty so we didn't have issues finding a space. When we entered, our order was ready, the food was packed expertly and the employees were courteous and efficient. The calamari was crispy and perfectly seasoned. The salted fish chicken fried rice was not greasy at all. They also were generous with the serving. The clams in ginger scallion sauce was slightly more expensive but there was so much of it. The half duck was lovely - it is a family favorite. We are eating the food right now and despite how full we are, we are contemplating when we are coming back. We'll probably try their dimsum upon our return. So excited! I'll post photos next time. We were famished when we got home so we forgot to take pictures!
I rate one star for being open.
Wife and I Saturday went to this place with both front doors wide open. As exited our car a restaurant worker was mopping up what appeared to be seafood spilled in front of the restaurant sidewalk with bleach. My instinct about this mess was not good as this was probably a patron that got sick. Anyway we from the minute we walked in there was an air of your not welcomed here. Wife and I are 60 years old, no were not wearing formal attire but certainly dressed well enough for social restrant date. Rude female waiter/server. Guy who brought our food promptly pretty much threw plates on table and disappeared. I thought ah, he went to bring water and maybe soy sauce or something he forgot. Nope, 5 minutes later I kindly gestured to rude female server for assistance (soy sauce request). She yelled What? from a table in back of me as she approached our table. I was dumbfounded. She grabbed a sauce a slapped on our table. We were so disappointed in the food taste and even more by the service. Note that we were the only ones in the restaurant besides a party of about 29 at the back of restaurant. We ordered house special rice and hard noodles. DON'T DO IT!
Disappointed! If I can leave 0 stars I would.
FIRST AND ONLY TIME EVER GOING HERE! First off the waitress was rude from the beginning. I asked her if the lunch special came with soup and white rice she said yes. Then proceeded to bring me a large wonton soup when I told her I didn't order that she was upset and started nagging to me in her native language. Secondly the food was cold my bbq pork looked like thanks giving ham literally and it was cold, pork chops were over breaded and cold, only my orange chicken was hot and decent still seemed re heated and not fresh. A waitress made eye contact with me when I raised my hand to ask for hot sauce but was called by someone else went to them then ignored me. SMH I never received my cup of water extra napkins and they didn't provide hot sauce or soy sauce on the table. Lastly when I was leaving and about to pay my bill was $40&sum Change for 3 items!!! After the horrible food and service experience I left to pay and I skipped the Tip option on the CC device the waitress flipped and said you skipped the tip and demanded I tipped her. Although it wasn't a written requirement she felt entitled to get tipped And keep saying you need to tip. Also place was hot no AC today was 80 degrees not good at all. I asked for water was never brought to me I'm a fair person and I didn't like my experience I felt no need to tip giving them $40 was more than enough. I would've been better off eating at McDonald's never again will I go to this place.
[FOOD] First time here.
The food actually was surprisingly decent. I got the following: - ha gow - siu mai - rice beef roll - spare ribs I got too many things to list but it all tasted exactly as it should for some random place in Diamond Bar. [SERVICE] I got service immediately despite a packed restaurant. The meat ball was taking a while and I was given a free item of my choice for waiting. Awesome! [PLACE] The restaurant is small compared to a lot of other dim sums I've been to. I don't think they have the traditional aunties pushing the dim sum carts because of how small the place is. You order and they bring it to you. [VERDICT] This is a solid dim sum spot for Diamond Bar. I would definitely visit again if I was in the area.
Good place, good service, good food and most importantly:
Good place, good service, good food and most importantly: reasonable pricing. Yang chow fried rice is a must to order. It was really good. Deep fried sole is another must, crunchy yet tasty. Eggplant with pork meat is another yummy in my tummy. Pricing is very reasonable. A good place to visit to satisfy chinese food cravings.
My family and I love Diamond Palace Chinese Seafood
My family and I love Diamond Palace Chinese Seafood Restaurant. I've been coming here for decades. The food is always good and the service is always great. We typically grab take out and bring it back home to grub on. We order all sorts of things from kung pao chicken, to tofu veggie dishes, to braised pork belly, and so much more. In recent years they even added a selection of dim sum items. Sometimes we eat here for special dinners when we want some fresh seafood or Peking duck. We also had a banquet dinner here for close family and friends for our daughter's birthday. The service was spectacular, and the food was even better. The banquet meals are so convenient because they have several set banquet meals you can choose from which offer a plethora of delectable dishes that make you feel like kings and queens. And if it's not enough you can add your own special items. Having such a multi course menu really elevates an event. Moreover, they have a small sectioned off room that can fit about 2 large round tables for private events. They even have special seat covers for the seats to really make your event dazzle. We had such a wonderful dinner. The room was beautiful, and everyone was impressed with the meal and service. Thank you for all the years of consistency, good food, and serving our family.
After being away for a while, my wife and went to the
After being away for a while, my wife and went to the Diamond Palace and tried the Dim Sum. Chicken feet, shrimp, and pork. That was very filling and very good. I'd rate it the Dim Sum 5 stars. The food is a little pricey Our second visit a few weeks later was with friends. The appetizer shrimp har gow was excellent and we all enjoyed it. From there, the 4 of us ordered fried rice, lo mein , kung pao chicken and peking duck. The duck was excellent, not excessively greasy like most duck, 5 stars with good presentation. The fried rice, just OK, 3.5 stars. The lo mein, just OK, 3.5 stars. The kung pao chicken, an all time favorite for me at any Chinese restaurant, I'd give it 4 stars. It was not spicy enough for me or my guest. Over all, I was a little disappointed in the food, as I was expecting something great. Yet, a bright spot, ..... extremely generous portions. So much to take home. Other bright spots include a very large dining area, and very very clean. Dim sum on rolling carts with attendants always asking, if you wanted more. Extremely attentive, MIKE, our waiter, full of talk, tips and just fun to have around, super super great and he definitely added to our dining experience. Overall 4 stars. Will I be back? ........ if I'm in the mood for Dim Sum, for sure. I'm on a hunt for great Kung Pao Chicken.
Came here on a Sunday because I had a hankering for dim sum.
This was one day after Chinese new year. I was disappointed with the number of dim sum choices. There was only 1 cart going around and after 20mins we asked if anything else was coming out. There were probably 5-6 other tables there so I was wondering why there was no food. We ended up having to order regular entrees from the menu because we were so hungry. We decided on wonton soup but when it came out there wasn't the expected noodles. We figured that's ok because that wasn't in the description so we asked if we can pay extra for a little side of egg noodles. They said ok but brought an entire giant soup bowl of all noodles. The manager caught that and was upset w the staff for accepting the order without putting it into the computer system. But we said oh don't worry we will pay for it. Maybe there was a miscommunication but we subsequently got a 5 min lecture from him about how no one orders wonton soup with noodles and that's why it's not on the menu and if we had only asked them for noodles in the first place this wouldn't have happened. And that their wonton soup doesn't come with noodles because this is not a Cantonese place (?) and not many ppl order it that way. I don't think this required any defense thesis but there it was. Ambience is your typical dim sum room with a wedding stage (phoenix and dragon) in the front. Dont think I will come back. If only because I expect more food to be on the carts at a dim sum place. Seems like they depend more on the entree menu. The search for good dim sum in the inland empire goes on...
Horrible.
For how long they've been open, you'd think they learned something. Every time I go there it's chaos. They're shouting at each other. Orders are screwed up. No one knows how to take orders on the phone. Just to pick up an order takes more than an hour. It's like they just opened and this was their first day running a restaurant. Food is low to mid. It smells. Portions are small but they over price them. They would also over charge you. Prices are consistent as well as service.
3.5 stars rounding up to 4. Good portion size, nice
3.5 stars rounding up to 4. Good portion size, nice friendly service, the food can be a hit or miss, depending on what you get. I've ordered takeout from here a few times, and depending on what you get, it could be good or not. They have a lot of items on the lunch specials menu which is nice. Also, dim sum is served until 3 PM every day. The food is very authentic Cantonese food, the flavors good. I do really like their portion size. The only complaint I have is I found hair in the food more than once, so I cannot vouch for the cleanliness of this place. Parking is very easy, service is fast and friendly. Prices are reasonable.
