I love this hot and sour! The mushrooms and tofu are sooo fresh :) the flavor is a great balance of spicy and a little sweet. I love spice and saw a review that it wasn't spicy so they gave me some spice on the side but I didn't need it! They updated their recipe since and I can confirm as a spice lover - the new recipe is spicy. Really sweet team and always offering discounts! Highly recommend!!! I'm glad I ignored the Karen reviews.
Be the first to ReplyThis is a hole in the wall place that was surprisingly good.
My family is Chinese and we did not order any American Chinese favorites -- we ordered more Chinese home style dishes: mapo tofu, Chinese eggplant, shrimp in lobster sauce. Very good. Would order again. Takeout only, you can't sit there.

We thought we would try this place since we were in Milltown to pick up a repaired sewing machine. The staff is friendly. The Crystal Shrimp Dumplings at $9.75 is a bit pricey for six pieces. They were what we expected so that is good.We did not try any of the other dim sum dishes. The Mei Fun with shrimp had generous amount of shrimp.

Was very happy to see they have soup buns on the menu, ordered them, took them home to eat and....no soup in the buns! Big disappointment!

I was so excited to read the other reviews when I received a menu to my home. A dim sum place in EB! Jackpot. Unfortunately, I've probably never had Chinese takeout worse than my family experienced from this place. The good: service over the phone was friendly enough even though I had to repeat my address 5 different times with spelling... food came fast. The not so good: It was really not good at all. We ordered fried cheese wontons, shrimp and broccoli in garlic sauce, fried pork dumplings, and shrimp fried rice. Nothing tasted good. There was even an "old" taste to the shrimp fried rice.. fried cheese wontons were disgustingly sweet.. fried pork dumplings were just wrong... very dry and the meat was questionable...the only thing that I could barely stomach was the shrimp and broccoli with white rice when I added the very tasty dumpling sauce to it.Just bad. I will not even be giving a second try.
Be the first to ReplyThe dumplings we got were great.
The problem was everything else. Weird choice for veg in the lo mein (squash?), gross cherry syrup on the bone less spare ribs, and the absolute worst general tsaos chicken I have ever had- so much breading and fried so hard a fork couldn't penetrate the individual pieces. But, like I said, really good dumplings.

Just an average Chinese restaurant conveniently located off main street. We ordered quite a lot using their 30% discount off $100. We ordered the Hong Kong style wonton noodle, braised beef noodle soup, mixed vegetable with bean curd, house special fried rice, house special chow fun, pu pu platter, sautéed string beans, pan fried dumplings, and soup dumplings with crab. The broth in the Hong Kong style wonton noodles was very bland. Nothing special and tasted like it was just chicken broth out of a can. The noodles were shrimp noodles that were also very bland and there wasn't much filling in the wonton. The braised beef noodles were full of flavor and the braised beef was so tender. Highly recommend this! I think the soup dumplings and pan fried dumplings would of tasted better fresh as opposed to take out so I can't really make an accurate review. The pu pu player was decent, with a variety of skewers (chicken, beef) with fried chicken and egg rolls. The house special chow fun is pretty good. It had a great flavor and the flat noodles were perfect and not soggy. The house special fried rice had a very light flavor and was jus okay. The sautéed string beans were my favorite dish of all. They have a black bean flavor with just the right amount of salt. The mixed vegetables with bean curd is also good, with brocolli, carrots, and a few other assortment of vegetables. Overall, this place is just average. Most dishes are hit or miss.

It was delicious. Ordered soup dumplings. Excellent. Also roast pork and broccoli and hot and sour soup. I base a restaurant off of our staple of roast pork and broccoli. As good as the best one I have had. Will definitely be my go too for take out chinese.
Be the first to ReplyNice surprise.
We tried an assortment of dumplings they were all good, the steamed ones were better than the fried ones. Soup dumplings and the Peking Duck Buns were very good. Will definitely order again!

Very pleasantly surprised! Tried some basics on Xmas day to get a feel for the place: egg drop soup had a hint of smokiness that elevated it above usual takeout; kung pao chicken was tender and flavorful (though I wish it were spicy as advertised); spring rolls were light and crispy; veg lo mein had a nice balance of veg (bok choy, carrot, zucchini) to noodles; even the sweet and sour chicken was crispy and not at all greasy. Online ordering is super easy, and the folks working there when I picked up were friendly and nice. I've been settling for so-so Chinese at my usual takeout because it's close, but I think I'll make this my new go-to. Support local!

Unfortunately my 2:30 order for delivery at 5:40 was still not delivered by 6:30. A call rendered a request for us to come pick it up and a complimentary can of soda. Will probably give them another chance since it was Christmas .
