This was my first experience at Din Tai Fung and after hearing all of the hype about this restaurant, it's safe to say it exceeded expectations. Service was fast & friendly, food was to die for, and the overall ambiance is very enjoyable. Everything tastes as if it was made with love. Sadly I was only visiting the area and do not have a Din Tai Fung in my state so I will be craving everything I ordered from now until my next visit.

We asked a server for a couple of bowls and when she brought the bowls to the table, I couldn't believe my eyes. The way she held the bowls as she was handing it off to our table was not it. She had some of her fingers IN the bowl for the handoff. No it wasn't on the outside and on the top edge of the bowls... the digits were literally IN the bowl. Like it had me thinking I was grubbing at Applebees for a second.. Maybe I have higher standards for DTF servers or something, but this is honestly like common sense during this day and age.. cmon blud

What an amazing experience the food was great but the best part of it was the service everyone was super nice and our waiter ALY was EXCEPTIONAL extremely knowledgeable, professional and friendly he definitely made aimpact and we will be coming back 100 % recommend this Din tai fung .

This was a wonderful setting for a birthday lunch celebration. Our server was courteous and prompt in putting our order in. Food came out spaced apart so that we did not run out of food nor be sprung with everything coming out at once. And the taste of what we ordered is always on point.

I think everyone should experience DTF at least once, I'm sure all the popularity has been making people curious. The food was tasty, and I don't really have any solid complaints. I wouldn't say it hit it out of the park though, compared to some smaller mom and pop dim sum places in Chinatown. I thought their version of shumai was especially different and a little plain. Service was okay; but the place was pretty crowded and loud, it was hard to hear yourself and it wasn't the most amazing ambience. Fav item was the chocolate xiaolongbao.

This restaurant was outstanding. I asked our waiter, Ryo, for recommendations and tried the dishes he suggested. It was the best meal I had during my trip to Los Angeles. The green beans, xiaolongbao, soup, shrimp fried rice, and the final dessert of chocolate xiaolongbao were all incredibly delicious. Ryo was very kind, sincere, and provided heartfelt service, making our lunch very pleasant and enjoyable. He also speaks Japanese. I really felt comfortable. If you are going to a Dodgers game, I highly recommend making the trip to visit this restaurant!

Door-Dashed this to our hotel for a late dinner (having no idea about its popularity). The food was delicious, still hot, and packaged well for delivery. The takeout utensils provided were awesome, which included chopsticks and traditional soup spoons. The cucumber salad was great, the dressing was not cloyingly sweet like some recipes. I liked the sweet & sour pork baby back ribs too. The sauce and meat were so tasty! Everyone remarked they liked what they ate - the Kurobuta pork bao, vegetable fried noodles, and the noodles with diced beef and Szechuan peppers. My husband added a side of house spicy sauce to his noodles with diced beef and Szechuan peppers dish and said it was great!
They're always busy.
Line is always long but worth it. Food is excellent I highly recommended.

I really love the restaurant good service,food is great,altho I applied for an interview and had a interview not long ago just for the next day to reject my application. I called asking why and they told me it was because they have too many hires and arent hiring anyone. Then why waste my time? I asked when did this happen because it was just a day ago? They had no answer to that. I don't think the hiring staff are that professional. Im a very nice person and would never write reviews like this but i also drove abit far for this just for them to tell me they don't need anyone at the moment.

i was in pasadena with no car so i ordered from uber eats.
my food was still warm when i got it! i got the Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao (10 each) Red Bean & Mochi Xiao Long Bao (10 each) Sweet Taro Buns (2 each) the pork xiao long bao had wonderful flavor and the chopsticks they sent even had instruction on how to eat them! so cute, they also sent black vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil, which was not spicy the red bean mochi xiao long bao were by far my favorite thing i got. i have been a fan of red bean for as long as i can remember and these were delicious. they were full of red bean paste, had a thin layer of mochi, and covered in the dumpling wrapper!! if you try anything, i 125% recommend these! (they're on the sweeter side so more of a dessert) the taro steam buns were good. i would've like a more prominent taro flavor because there was a smaller amount of taro paste inside that was almost masked by the bun but overall very good meal!

Located on the top floor of the Santa Anita mall, Din Tai Fung is a very busy restaurant backed by quick competent servers, prep cook, and chefs. You can visibly see the entire ecosystem and how they organize the chaos into a harmonious flow. I had a reservation when I came by, but I believe if you get lucky on a slow hour, they'll accept walk-ins. Best to have reservations especially on Friday and Saturdays. Tables and floors are clean. The busboys really take the time to make sure that the brand is stays hygienic and ready for new customers. I really appreciate this about the restaurant. Servers provide a checklist for you to fill out and I ended up getting string beans, pork chop fried rice, cucumber salad, pork xiao long bao, and chocolate xiao long bao. In my opinion, the most memorable was the cucumber salad. I loved the presentation and cruchy-snappy texture and taste of the dish. Highly recommend. I wouldn't get the pork fried rice again. It doesn't seem like a strength dish of Din Tai Fung. String beans tasted great. It has a nice savory flavor and the garlic nicely compliments the dish. Would recommend getting this. Pork xiao long bao tasted nice and fresh. Just like how I expected fresh xiao long bao to taste like. The inside soup is hot and the vinegar on the table only adds to the total experience. The chocolate & mochi xiao long bao was quite interesting. Looks like any ordinary xiao long bao, but what you think of it is exactly how it tastes like. Definitely a finisher after an entire meal at Din Tai Fung. Tasty, sweet and gelatinous ready to be popped in the mouth within a second. I'm not a regular at Din Tain Fung, but I did have a great experience here! Would recommend to anyone who wants a quality environment and quality food. Great ecosystem!

Cute place with Great food but terrible service and communication. Only come here if you have a reservation and hours to wait to be seated. After waiting in 2 different lines with no communication I was told to go back to the first line and the wait would be 90 min.

Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!

I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
