Always a must-visit if we're at South Coast, especially with out of town guests! Pro-Tip: park in the parking garage behind Friar Tux and the walkway into the mall will dump you out right next to Din Tai Fung. Then you can put your name in and roam around the mall until they text you. Family Pro-Tip: there is a difference between tables with "stroller spots" and high chairs, so be sure to specify. I recommend high chairs if possible because the tables are relatively close together.Our Favorite Items:- obviously XLB- Sesame Noodles- Spicy Wontons- Garlic Green Beans- Cucumber Salad- Red Bean XLB

Din tai Fung is one of my favorites and this is my favorite location if you have not been it's a must-try I feel. The best place to get dumplings and I like the desert dumplings as well, super delicious with the sauce. The pear martini is also tasty.

We had made our reservation online so we were seated quickly. Our server was very nice and accommodating. Was very quick to enter everything and even our add one later came out quickly. The other men and women who dropped off food were very polite as well. As always our food was amazing. We love different dumplings but we devoured them so quickly I didn't get many pictures Atmosphere is always good. Plenty of parties around us all enjoying their food and enjoying their time. Definitely a place to try if you haven't.

Wanted to bring my boyfriend here since he's never tried dumplings before Checked in at the front and you get on a text message waitlist, we were quoted and hour and a half to two hours so we decided to walk around the mall and do some shopping in the mean time. We ended up ordering a variety of food but the highlights where the shrimp and pork spicy wontons, the cucumbers, and the chocolate buns This place is clean and all of the waiters are very attentive Would definitely come again but would keep in mind the long wait time around dinner service

Our waiter Noah was very attentive, thorough and kind. Service was 5 stars we had the crab/pork and black truffles xio bao which were much better than Paradise Dynasty as the piece of truffle was bigger and tastier. Also ordered the spicy braised beef. Drank a few Taiwan beers to cleanse the pallet. Will definitely comeback when I'm on a shopping spree!

..and the rest of the waitstaff is amazing.The shrimp and pork won tons (kids fave!), green beans (addicting), rice cakes (reminds me of mom), sticky spare ribs (rich and tasty!) and fried rice is super duper delicious. This is my new favorite place to dine in the OC. Did you see our Lychee martinis? I cannot believe how incredibly non alcoholic these tastes...so up my alley!We're happy, our experience was Wonderful, and the ambience was bright, fun and perfect.Just perfect!

This is one of the best Din Tai Fung locations I have been to! The food was absolutely delicious.I was meeting some friends at the mall and they have never been to DTF so I suggested it and we put our names on the wait list. They said the wait would be 1 hour but we waited closer to 2 hours (huge drawback of eating here is the loooong wait time).When we sat down to eat I told the waitress that we had never been to this location and she was so kind and helpful. She recently transferred from the San Diego location and she was amazing! My friends and i are vegetarian so we ordered the cucumber salad, the spicy wontons, the vegan dumplings, the sesame noodles, the green beans, orange green tea, and chocolate and bean buns for dessert.Everything we ordered was a 10/10!!! The food quality was soooo good and worth the price. It came out fast and warm. Super delicious!If you're getting the chocolate bun: order it with the thin dumpling rather than the bready bun. I think it tastes better that way.The only thing that ruined my experience was on the bill.... They charged $1.50 for the orange slice on top of my drink. I mean that is very shady and I will be docking one star for that. Have enough respect to tell your customers about ridiculous charges. I don't like sneaky charges and it's downright disrespectful to customers and gives off the vibe that you're trying to squeeze money out of us. Nothing on the bill should be a surprise! I mean c'mon... I've never been to a restaurant that charges for garnish...In the end I do recommend this place and it would have been 5/5 stars if not for the feeling of getting scammed paying for a garnish on top of a drink.

I visited this place previously with my parents in law, my son, and my husband. We really loved the taste of the food, quality service the spot we were seated. That's why my husband, my son and I decided to come back again. Same quality service, stuff was very friendly. Food was very tasty. We took our left overs to go as well. They boxed it for us, boxing was so cute as well. Definitely recommend this place to anyone. By the way, since this spot serves good quality of service, and tasty food, the waiting line is pretty long as well, but if you want something delicious and good quality service than it's worth it. Also, i like the way of their system was done. You do first check up at the line, then they will send you a notification to your phone. You don't stand up there, you can go and sit somewhere in the mall, and when you get the message you can just come to see anyone in the front. Also, they warn you for wait time in advance.

A reservation was made and we were seated pretty much on time. The service was fast. We ordered two soup dumplings, pork chop, cucumber, green beans, spicy dumplings, vegan dumplings and a shrimp shumai. All were delicious and each dish came out in a timely manner. Four of us shared all these dishes a family style. We were full. The restaurant was packed as always. They were pretty efficient in turning a table over. Tables we're put together so close... the food was fresh and good but I am not sure it is worth a wait.

Maybe I just need to get accustomed to California prices, but I thought $55 before tip was very pricey for this meal. Regardless, I’d return and recommend.

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

Best Answer It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Best Answer Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
