Unfortunate
The food was very good, really good and the service was very friendly and professional. It has a very atmosphere and we enjoyed our evening. Unfortunately we might not repeat it because of the rudeness of the management. We were very badly received and the hostess and manager need to be taught some manners and honesty is unfortunately not a priority for them.they lied about our reservation and bluntly told us us that they will kick us out about an hour and a half! Frankly I am tired of having to deal with young ,spoiled people who are put in a managerial position and have no idea what they are doing.anyway we got our way after bullying them back! You know the saying : bully a bully! I sincerely do not think that I will go back there.
Be the first to ReplyBad food, over priced and rude manager
We arrived at the place at 2:15, we calle from at 1:00 PM as we were in Harrods so wanted to walk over but they told us on the phone that their fully booked till 2:00 PM. So we waited till 2. Then walked over. Place was 50% occupancy, this place is a gimmick of a high end Japanese restaurant such as nobu or Zuma, which charge half the price do their dishes. This place charges way more and fish is very fishy, and doesn’t taste good at all. I wonder how this place is still open at all. Like why in the world would you go to dinings if you have nobu or zuma 10 mins away and spend half the price. Anyway we sat in the place till 3:15 and we still didn’t get our mains. So it’s been 1:15 min I complained twice, and then the waitress said food still needs 10 mins. We cancelled our order as we weren’t expecting the mains to be any good anyway. And not even sorry or anything from the manager either. He just came to us and gave us our bill. He’s completely rude and now we know and that everyone else we know will never go to this place again. As the manager needs to treat clients with respect at least. This was a lunch date.
Be the first to ReplyDinings is innovative, but Heston’s Dinner is better and better value!
Innovative modern Japanese like Nobu. Some dishes are standouts - mini tacos, sliders, ‘risotto’. Some are quite mediocre - sashimi, sushi. The free edamame served when you come in is astonishing for a restaurant this caliber: same quality as Wasabi! Pleasant outdoor dining area and attentive, friendly service.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and service
Food was all amazing quality and staff were very attentive! Slightly higher price point but I think the service and food quality is worth the extra money to spend on a meal here, would be great for a special occasion or date night. We sat up at the counter which was lovely to be able to watch the chefs and see how everything was prepared! Would highly recommend using these seats if they are available to book rather than sitting in the restaurant level.

If you are looking for a special Japanese restaurant, look somewhere else! The food is mediocre at best. The edamame comes cold and dry with the yuzu and salt on the side. They don't steam the edamame but just thaw it out from a frozen package. The mochi dessert is not ice cream but is room temperature custard and not worth the money. I cannot remember any one item that stood out for me. I do have to say that the staff was very nice!
Be the first to ReplyAMAZING !!! Highly reccomended
Amazing Sushi restaurant, the athmosphere is cozy and romantic and the food excellent. Loved the Wagyu mini burger, the crispy rice and nigiris. Definately on top of my list for sushi restaurants in London
Be the first to ReplyExceptional!!! 10/10
The outdoor garden seating was so nice. Fresh yet cozy! The food was exceptional, especially the maguro maki, black cod and wagyu steamed bun. Our lovely server Natasha, guided us through the menu with finesse and even gave us a special treat at the end. My only small remark, was that in comparison to the amazing food, the deserts were rather lack-luster. But all in all, this was a lovely experience and I will surely be coming back in the near future.
Be the first to ReplyCute restaurant
I highly recommend the eel wrap, not every dish is as tasty as it but all of them have a really cute and appealing look. I also love the location and the decoration of this restaurant, I went there in Saturday afternoon and the staff is nice and serving is fast. Will recommend to my friends.
Be the first to ReplyThey completely ruined a special night, so unprofessional!
I've made a reservation for my birthday dinner a month in advance and I've received an email confirmation. We showed up at the restaurant on time to realise it was actually closed on that day. Nobody had the decency to either call me or send me an email to inform me considering they had also a whole month to do it. It is unbelievable that a restaurant which should be "top quality and top price" like this one is so disorganised and lacks of professionalism in this way. My birthday was completely ruined. I was a regular but I am definitely not coming back to this place ever again. Please be aware about this issue they have with their booking system as they will not tell you anything, which is ridiculous.
Be the first to ReplyBest Japanese Restaurant in London
Dinings is the best Japanese restaurant in London by far, the quality of the good is outstanding, the service is impeccable besides the shortage in most of the London restaurants at this time.
Be the first to ReplyVery average
I have been to this place a couple of times in the past and it was great. I kind of expected it to be the same when I visited last week but unfortunately it wasn't. The service was exceptionally slow which was surprising as the restaurant wasn't full. The sushi was ok but nothing exciting especially for this amount of money. The drinks were very average as well and for some reason it took about 1 hour to serve them. I hope they will bounce back to what they used to be as I don't think I want to pay that much for this service / food.
Be the first to ReplyBest Sashimi in town
Monthly visiting here since reopened.
Takeaways when it was not.
Never been disappointed ever.
Everything is top notch.
Will carry on coming !
Worthy place to go again and again
Been to London couple of times but not been here before but glad I’ve been now!
Dinings is not your authentic sushi-ya but for whatever they dish out, it was the best it could be. I’m not a fan of Nobu, but I would be very happy to come back to Dinings again and again for their fresh seafood and red shari. Even their normal white Shari that they serve to go with some cooked dishes was so well cooked I could eat bowls and bowls of it. I love the crispy rice with tuna. We had their fattiest tuna belly nigiri, the glistening fat was glorious. The mixed sashimi set was fresh and beautifully presented. We were recommended the wagyu mini burgers that I was not so sure about but when I bit into it the charred flavour blew me away! The Aubergine was done so well; silky, juicy and umami, I would have been happy just eating that with the sushi rice as a meal. The Asian me was very happy with this meal and the place was classy and nice as well. A good place for business and group gatherings!
Farcical !
Ridiculous really..the tiniest portions ever which weren't not that special were delivered and hideously expensive ...AVOID !
Be the first to ReplyWorst service we have experienced in a long time
Worst service we have experienced in a long time. There was a range of mistakes with our order and we could not get hold of a waiter for the entire evening. We waited 30 min for the bill and finally had to go to the till because we were not taken care of at all. Horrible experience.
Be the first to ReplyMostly tasty but completely overpriced
Completely overpriced sushi restaurant. The Sushi was very tasty but £40 for 5 small pieces. Mini burgers again tasty but £9 for 2 mouthfuls. Smoked potatoes undercooked and inedible and were returned. Restaurant itself small, cramped and pokey, tables felt too close together. No loo roll in the the toilet.
Be the first to Replyamazing food
Stunning food in this amazing restaurant. A must try for anyone looking for the highest quality sushi in London.Service was impeccable with the core staff group being as awesome as ever and the new staff being trained to the same high standards.Highly recommended restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful food and atmosphere
Fantastic food in a an intimate and cozy setting. courteous, friendly and professional staff all made for an excellent dining experience and no time pressure on leaving the table was an added bonus. Lobster sliders and Toro sashimi were particular highlights, but all the food was delicious and wonderfully presented. Will definitely be returning and would happily recommend for business or pleasure.
