Initially, 28 'courses' may seem like a daunting task for a 3 or 4 hour meal but when many of the courses seem to just explode then evaporate in your mouth leaving behind a multitude of flavors, well, 28 is quite do-able! And be prepared to smile, giggle and occasionally laugh out loud in surprise and delight. This is not dining but rather an elevated level of culinary art: an expression of what food and dining can and should be. This is Disfrutar! Each course is prepared and presented to perfection. The staff seems to disappear and reappear magically for each course. And I strongly recommend the offered wine pairing menu to accompany the meal. Each wine is an absolutely perfect match to each course. This is an extremely serious restaurant but with a great sense of humor. They want to see you smile, giggle and laugh with delight! I've been to several 3 star restaurants throughout the world but Disfrutar is otherworldly.
Be the first to ReplyI just left Disfrutar without eating but €300 poorer.
I had eaten at Disfrutar last year and really loved it, so I made a reservation to go with my daughter who is a foodie and really excited about the fine dinning experience. I tailored my trip to Barcelona to accommodate our Disfrutar meal. We anticipated this day for many months. But today when we arrived to the restaurant our table was not in the main room overlooking the kitchen but in a dark, ugly hallway by the entrance. It really looked like a mid neighborhood joint, not at all the place that we expected and for which I was about to drop €700 for. I've always thought that it took Disfrutar this long to earn a third star because the local's entrance is not up to standard, and that's where we were going to be eating. The wait stuff told us that this was our only option since their dinning room was full. Then they tried to convince us that the space was actually better. That was kind of infuriating. We asked if they'll charge the penalty fee and they said they will. Frankly I think they shouldn't have, because what they were offering was so inferior we decided to leave rather than spend the whole meal feeling we were second class costumers. So we are a cautionary tale: make sure to ask, when you make your reservation, to be seated in the main dinning room. A normal person would never expect to be seated in the horrible space by the entrance, but make sure to ask because if you don't you'll be missing out and paying the same price.

After having been exposed to the top restaurants of the world from childhood, raised by extreme foodies, Disfrutar is in a class of its own. This was hands down, the best meal I've ever had in my life. I do not say that lightly. Every dish has you captivated in absolute astonishment, forcing you to question everything that you have ever considered food or a dining experience. Unpretentious, absolute wonder in every bite, simply amazing. Michelin star restaurant after Michelin star restaurant, Disfrutar is on a completely different level FAR above all the rest. It's almost hard to write a review grand enough to properly honor the treasure that is this place. Absolutely extraordinary, culinary genius. Thank you for bringing your art to this world. So grateful to have been there and hope to someday return.

I don't think there are words to describe how incredible Disfrutar was. Start to finish bite after bite and sip after sip - unimaginable creativity and flavor. True art. One of the best things in Barcelona. Skip the Sagrada Familia and beg for a table, kidding, kind of.

Wonderful flavors and unbelievable dishes. Cannot wait to go back. Fantastic service and very pleasant atmosphere.

The worst thing about a meal at Disfrutar is that the journey from the heavens back to the mortal world is a long way down. It is in a league of its own and other Michelin 3s and 2s feel like your run-of-the-mill neighborhood restaurants in comparison. Playful, yet elegant, Disfrutar's creative artistry is evident from her very first dish, and she plays with your senses as well as your mind at every opportunity. El bulli alums, Castro, Xatruch and Casanas are doing Ferran and Albert proud, and having recently dined at Enigma, which is another fantastic option in Barcelona, I can easily conclude that the prodigies have surpassed their masters. No. 2 in the world on the Pellegrino list when we visited, Disfrutar will likely be no. 1 in 2024.

"Can we give Disfrutar a 6 out of 5 stars?" - my husband We went to Disfrutar this past summer as it's been on my husband's bucket list for a while, and it did not disappoint. The courses were incredible, and it was an overall 10/10 experience from beginning to end. Truly unforgettable, and we would go back in a heartbeat.

The most creative meal I have ever had! This is truly one of the most amazing food experience! I was only in Barcelona for three days, and I was lucky enough to get off of the waitlist for disfrutar. People usually need make reservation a year in advance. This two Michelin star restaurant offers a 28 course meal with either the classic option or a festive option that is for newer dishes. This restaurant is also ranked number 2 in the world. Absolutely love the whole entire experience, and it is definitely a memorable experience. The whole takes about 4 hours so make sure to leave enough time for the meal. It is very apparent from every dish how much thought goes into it. Every dish is just perfectly executed. Highly recommend everyone to try to snag a reservation if you can when visiting Barcelona! The staff is so professional and explains every dish in detail before serving. I also love how they showcase how some of the ingredients came about. Even though 4 hours is a long time for a meal, but trust me it does not feel like 4 hours with 28 dishes coming at you one after another. Very reasonably priced as well comparing to the two Michelin star restaurants in US. The ambiance is great as well. Before you start dining, they take you to see the kitchen and explain some design elements of the restaurant.

Writing an update, after revisiting and re-confirming that this is my favorite dining experience in the world. Everything at Disfrutar seems to just match everything I look for in dining - the food is both delicious, as well as creative, presented beautifully, and fun to eat. The service is warm and staff are able to communicate perfectly in a number of languages. The sommelier provided wonderful recommendations and also explained the wine pairing so well, and this was the best pairing we experienced in 25 michelin stars on this trip. The chefs were there to shake hands upon arriving, and we found them outside after our meal where we thanked them again and again for the experience. The whole experience feels like such a steal compared to our tasting menus in the US, except this one is the current #2 restaurant in the world. I cannot recommend Disfrutar highly enough, and can't wait to return again to hopefully experience the living table. This is the restaurant that I compare all others to - this is the gold standard. For this meal, we opted for the festival menu, and added some highlight courses from our past "classic" meal experience. Favorites included - the tomato polvoron, chinese bun, butter smoked bubbles and caviar, crunchy mushroom, egg yolk tempura, pork broth carbonara, golden egg, corn and foie. Loved the desserts - the waldorf salad with mustard ice cream was out of this world.

Disfrutar was an amazing experience in service, food, taste, environment, ambiance and everything else. I have no words. A highly recommended experience for your senses! Just prepare to spend 4 hours there - we (two of us) went for lunch on a week day and were there for a bit longer than that. We got the traditional menu option. Absolutely nothing disappointed! Bravo!

An experience you will never forget! Unbelievable courses, narrated by wonderful servers, in a beautiful atmosphere. Possibly once in a lifetime.
Be the first to ReplyWow wow wow.
Such an amazing experience. We've been to many Michelin starred restaurants and this one is amazingly priced and absolutely breathtaking!! Reminded me of Atelier Crenn in San Francisco but without the poem. We went for lunch and it's the same menu as dinner but that's great because we could get home early. They do a fabulous job presenting the food and explaining the deconstruction and wine and experience. They speak English and can explain what you are being served in English but I feel like I would have preferred the speech in Spanish. We did the wine pairing, but next time we will just get a bottle. We did the traditional menu which was OUTSTANDING, loved everything. We want to go back for the seasonal menu. We lucked out getting a cancellation spot. Otherwise, next available booking is August!
Be the first to ReplyClearly it is what it is here.
One of the greatest restaurants on earth and the best meal of my life so far. This is an experience for all five senses. I love the story they tell through flavors visuals and aromas. Every part of the journey as soon as you walk in is calculated yet laid back. Every dish is surgical without the pretentiousness we see at other Michelin establishments. This was one of the greatest experiences of our lives and we will be back over and over.
Be the first to ReplyI mean as you can see, this place is phenomenal.
As you walk in, every single employee greets you, which is sort of daunting. They explain all the decor of the restaurant, you say hello to the head chef, and you get seated. The main dining room is bright and simply decorated. We had the original menu. Everything was simply wonderful. It was 28 courses so make sure to come hungry! I love how they sort of were playing mind games with some of the dishes... it would look like a dessert, but in fact it would be savory. The staff were super kind and personable. I can't wait to come back and try their creative menu one day!
Be the first to ReplyOne of the most unforgettable meals I've had.
I won't recount all the dishes we've had here, as there were plenty of reviews describing everything already. Disfrutar is now ranked #3 best restaurant in the world, and it well deserved it. If you have the chance to come here, do not hesitate, it will blow your mind. The technique behind every dish and the innovative ideas behind them were unmatched. We had dinner at El Celler de Can Roca the night before. It was a masterpiece. So we were REALLY close to cancelling this dinner because we thought, what can top our experience from previous night?! I'm glad we decided to keep it. It was equally stunning, but a completely different culinary experience. Here's the analogy: if I think El Celler as a movie, it would be the best drama of all time, such as the Godfather, perfectly structured from beginning to end. On the other hand, Disfrutar would be the best comedy of all time (Home Alone anyone?), you'd be laughing from beginning to end and having the greatest FUN time of your life.

I've had a few gastronomic food experiences from different cities all over the world, and I must say, Disfrutar blew my mind. I was so close to cancelling this reservation bc I was already dreading getting dressed up to sit through another 2+ hr course dinner. I am so glad I didn't. Their dishes were so surprisingly creative and incredibly delicious. One dish that I constantly dream about is their panchino ball. They don't tell you what's inside of it, so when I took a bite, my god.. generous amounts of beluga caviar oozed out of this perfectly warm ball. Crispy egg yolk with mushroom gelatin?! Seriously, how do you even dream up something like this? Definitely a must experience for you foodies if you are ever in Barcelona.
Be the first to ReplyI do not understand why it is so regarded.
Flavors were terrible. The presentation and technique was incredible. However, the majority of the food did not taste well. Regret going. It was definitely a Michelin experiment , however, the food was not at all. Sooo many places better in Barcelona (Cocina hermanos, dos cintits, koy shunka are way way better in all aspects)
Be the first to ReplyI've never had so many different types of foam served to me
I've never had so many different types of foam served to me in one setting in my entire life. The service was impeccable, and for what I was expecting, the numerous courses were great, and delivered with fínese. But for me, it was just overboard - my table could not stop laughing at the Lagavulin hand-spritz course (we were fully prepared for a myst of tiramisu to the face on our way out). Great experience, just not my cup of tea.
Be the first to ReplyDisfrutar was rated the 9th best restaurant in the world in
Disfrutar was rated the 9th best restaurant in the world in 2019 by The World's 50 Best, so it was hard to manage my expectations coming in. We started off with a tour of the restaurant, which is very upscale and beautiful. The kitchens are open for visitors to see from the walkway. Anyways, let's get into it.Service:This was our first 2* Michelin restaurant, so I'm not sure how things usually go. It felt oddly rushed, as waiters dashed in to grab our dishes the moment we set our cutlery down. It also felt a little bit impersonal, perhaps because of the rushed nature of it all. There were only 4 tables of 2 each, but each table started at a different time. Even though there were only a maximum of 8 people at any time, it still FELT like the whole restaurant staff were going about serving a huge crowd of people. That's the "impersonal" vibe I was getting from the experience; not sure if I'm conveying it well.Food (Gran Classic, 165 Euros):For the food, pretty much everything was baseline good, so I won't mention it if it was just good. I'll try to point out highlights and things that were exceptionally good or creative, or the things that were disappointing. I'll write NA for courses that were just "good." A lot of the courses are built around surprises, which they do really well. I will try not to ruin the surprises in my descriptions.1. Frozen passionfruit ladyfinger with rum: great starter. Nice and light to ease into the meal. Not really crazy good, but it wasn't intended to be2. Beetroot meringue/Lychee and roses with gin: The beetroot meringue was extremely good. That was my favorite part of opening courses. 3. Candied walnut/Mango with tonka beans and whiskey: Mango tasted brilliant. So flavorful. I'm sad that it was gone in such a small bite. 4. Smoky apple cider/Idiazabal cheese on cracker: This was a great pairing. The smoky apple cider really complemented the cheese on cracker. The crackers were made from only Parmesan cheese, and the Idiazabal cheese went really well with it. The crackers were also expertly constructed, so that when I took a bite none of the cheese filling came out (that's what usually happens). really well done5. Gazpacho sandwich: One of my least favorite; but it's also one I can't really appreciate since I don't think I've had gazpacho. That said, going by taste alone, this one was a miss.6. Gilda: NA7. Crispy egg yolk with mushroom gelatin: This was my favorite course of the middle courses. The crispy egg yolk was HEAVENLY. It was delicately crisped on the outside, and they had us take a bite and pour the egg yolk into the eggshell containing the mushroom gelatin. The resulting mixture inside can only be described as an umami bomb. What an amazing course.8. Asparagus with elderflower and macademia dust: NA9. Multispherical pesto with pistachios and eel: This was a really creative dish. Tasted good, but what impressed me was mostly the creativity.10. Macaroni alla carbonara: This course was a little mediocre for me. It is sort of like deconstructed carbonara, but the pasta is replaced by iberian pork gelatin. The whole time I was eating it, I felt like something was missing from the dish. I kept craving some kind of carb to be the foundation of the meal, but I just kept tasting the gelatin. It wasn't bad, but it was a little unsettling. It's like that feeling you get when you eat a bunch of dip, but there aren't any chips to go with it. It felt a little like they were trying to be edgy with this one, but it didn't feel like an upgrade over traditional carbonara.11. Tomato polvoron and arbequina Caviaroli/Liquid salad: NA12. Lobster/Lobster cappuccino: This one had a dash of saffron sauce, some parsley foam, and spherified potatoes. The potatoes were really good. The lobster was good but not anything special, as was the cappuccino (just tasted like bisque).13. Multispherical tatin of corn and foie: I really liked their corn-themed dishes. This one tasted so very rich. Great follow-up to the previous course, and a good interlude between "main" courses.14. Cochinita pibil squab/foie gras bonbon: The squab was insanely tender, but the taste was not that impressive. The foie gras bonbon was a little overwhelming. By this point in the meal, it felt like the courses were losing steam. The "main" courses really did not impress us.15. Pandan: NA16. Cheesecake cornet: A raspberry and cheesecake fusion. This was a nice way to kick off desserts. The cheesecake was so rich!!17-: Out of the remaining desserts, they were all very solid and good, but nothing was outstanding or insaneSummary: Food was good, but some courses felt like the creativity came at the expense of flavor. Way too many desserts, and the desserts all seemed too similar. Main courses honestly disappointed. A few courses were the highlights. I ran into the character limit, so had to cut some things out. Worth it? Maybe.
Be the first to ReplyAwesome, awesome food.
Loved sitting at the bar and having a dedicated person walk you through each and every plate. Definitely worth crossing the Atlantic for.

This place was amazing!! Such an immersive and enjoyable experience. We came here during our week long trip and we loved it. The staff is so friendly and polite and the food so unique. Would recommend if you are in the city!

Absolutely amazing! We had the opportunity to go to this restaurant while on vacation in Barcelona. The staff and waiters were extremely friendly and helpful. We were greeted by the chef, and was welcomed. The place was so warm and inviting. The food was exceptional and it was an experience. They were even able to adapt the courses for mY cousin who has a shellfish allergy. I highly recommend this restaurant.

This place was amazing! We had the 30 course tasting menu and we sat for about 4 hrs! It felt like a dinner and a show. Food was amazing! I would recommend this to place to everyone but be sure to make reservations in advance (I think mine was 3 months in advance!) We were lucky enough that chef Eduard Xatruch was still there and took a photo with us!

Exquisite! Went with the full tasting menu called the Disfrutar classic for 30+ courses. This menu showcases creations that are now "classics" at the restaurant. A few dishes prepared were paradoxical such as the gazpacho in sandwich form and the liquid salad. Creatively odd but top notch dishes. Nothing like I've had before. Presentation was phenomenal! Won't go into detail about each dish as this can easily get drawn out. Dinner was lengthy at 4.5 hours for our group. So be sure to plan accordingly! I had tons of questions about the dishes and the male staff in charge of our area was receptive in answering them. Had 2 mishaps here during the duration of my dinner. I had specified early on when choosing the tasting menu that I was particularly sensitive to spicy foods so I could not have it. However, one of the dishes arrived spicy so I had to send it back. Also, I was given a wet plate once so I had to send that back too. They were apologetic on both counts. The wet plate incident I could forgive but they should try to be more attentive when it comes to a customer's sensitivities or allergies especially a restaurant of their stature. In the end, my focus is primarily on the food and the restaurant exceeded my expectations in that regard exceptionally. Disfrutar means "enjoy" in Spanish and we did just that! It is now one of my top favorites for fine dining. Definitely proved that it is worthy of its position as one of the world's best restaurants.
