Dark weatherspoons canteen feel
Long wait to what turned out to be a weatherspoons canteen. Was fairly near the door which was opening constantly with the large flow of diners. Had the chicken ruby. I know when Iโm tasting Heinz tomato soup and that definitely tasted like it had that in it. Overall food was pretty uninspiring. Much better food at your normal curry house. Came to ยฃ100 for two of us with one drink each. Plus no cobra served here
Be the first to ReplySuperb indian restaurant
This is a very large hotel with great Indian food. Nice exciting vibrant atmosphere in the restaurant Wait is long so keep that in mind. It was raining and we were given the opportunity to wait at the bar That was great since it took us out of the rain. Restaurant is in a nice area of covent gardens. Service was good management was friendly. Prices were good also

Great Indian restaurant -- casual dress is just fine. Service was great and menu has something for everyone. A must if you are in London!
Be the first to ReplyFantastic date night
Had heard lots of good things about this place so decided to try it out with my partner. Went to the Covent Garden space and they served us hot drinks whilst we queued which was kind, queue was not too long at peak time but the place is absolutely massive! Two gigantic floors and it was completely packed inside. That being said, our waiter was super attentive to us throughout the night, everyone we met was really friendly and accomodating which we really appreciated. They also helped explain the menu and how things worked. We were recommended the house chaat as a starter which was honestly one of our favourite dishes, super refreshing and a really unique mix of flavours with the pomegranate, sweet potato and cool yoghurt. Loved this one! We shared the chicken ruby and the house dhaal with some naans, rice and a couple of sides including the grilled mushrooms - the dhal is brilliant, super rich and comforting but not too filling so you can always go back for more. Mushrooms were nice and well seasoned and the chicken ruby was very creamy. Naans were good, though I wished each portion would have had a bit more. To round things off we had a pistachio kulfi. Very refreshing though a bit pricey for only one. Either way though, we had a wonderful time! Very enjoyable date night and would recommend!

This place had a line out the door constantly and although we didnโt make a reservation, we were still able to get in fairly quickly without having to wait forever. The staff were extremely friendly. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable and very kind. He gave us great recommendations. We are both vegetarian and got the Daal with naan, rice and the veg samosas and everything was packed with flavor and very enjoyable. My sister enjoyed her cocktail and I got the mango lassi which was delicious! The prices were fair and the menu is very diverse. I also really enjoyed the interior as its extremely comforting and although its crowded, you donโt really notice as the restaurant is huge and the tables are well spaced out. If I lived in London, Iโd definitely come here weekly.
Be the first to ReplyBetter than expected.
Grabbed an early reservation, to try one of the dishes reviewed by the excellent cooking show 'Milk Street'. If you can eat early, reservations are the thing, as when we left there was a line (VERY popular place in London). It was better than we had expected, and our server (Antonio) was extremely helpful and offered some great suggestions. Talked us through the menu items we were interested in, and educated us on several of them. Went there for the 'gunpowder potatoes', but everything we tried was excellent. A great option for people that like 'spicy' foods (my wife) and those of us that like 'flavorful' (not burn your mouth) foods. Definitely added to our list of must-eats when we are in London. We bought their cookbook to try some of their options when we are home in Texas....
Be the first to ReplyAmazing meal with family!
Food was amazing every dish we tried had so many different flavours absolutely delicious. The staff were really friendly and the service was excellent. We are looking forward to going back soon.
Be the first to ReplyBeats bacon and eggs!
Booked for 11am breakfast (lunch bookings unavailable for next 3 days!) The breakfast was brilliant. The Keema per Eedu is excellent - chicken and eggs and lovely warm buns ๐ Service warm and welcoming. Dรฉcor adds to a wonderful ambience, with nice touches like Verandah area. You will not be disappointed (I hope).

It's okay if you're vegetarian. However, the meat dishes were below average. Staff were also unfriendly and we had to wait a long time for our food.
Be the first to ReplyFabulous
There is usually a wait but so worth it. We waited outside in line for about 30 minutes. I canโt praise the food enough. Everything we tried was delicious with layers of flavors. Honestly unlike any Indian food Iโve ever had . I wish we had this restaurant in NYC. Our waiter was exceptional as wellโฆ. Friendly and eager to help with the menu.
Be the first to ReplyAmericans, take your dollars elsewhere
I had just arrived in London from the US to visit my daughter. We've traveled a lot and love Indian food, so I asked her to Indian restaurant in London. She chose Dishoom. She was anticipating this dinner for weeks. Immediately when we were seated and our server (a sandy haired guy with a beard) learned we were American, he began making insulting jokes about the US, American food quality and the state where we live. We made some jokes in return, but every single interaction we had with him, he had terrible things to say about our home. It was unacceptable. As an American who travels, I know that people who haven't visited the US often think they are experts, but this was beyond rude. Each time he came to our table, he made a negative comment about the US and even made a snide comment about how many other Americans he had had to serve tonight. This is a highly touristy area, so I am not sure why this is surprising? We were just trying to enjoy our time together. In all of the places I have been, I have never been treated so poorly by restaurant staff. A few jokes would be fine, but the level of insult he directed at us ruined our meal. The food was good but the experience with this server, however, ruined one of the rare special moments I get to share with my daughter who lives so far away. There are many excellent restaurants in London. It is easy enough for Americans to take our dollars elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplyReally recommend Dishoom
My son arranged a family breakfast at Dishoom to celebrate his 50th birthday Despite being busy on a Sunday morning we were made to feel very welcome and not hurried at all. The staff were all very helpful, friendly and informative I really liked being given - without asking - a jug of water for the table The breakfast menu was extensive with plenty of choice for vegetarians and no problem providing gluten free dishes The food was absolutely delicious- fantastic but subtle flavours and in generous portions

Be the first to ReplyAmazing breakfast
Happened to come here accidently in the late morning. Was disappointed at first that they did not yet serve lunch, but the brilliant, very tasty and original breakfast kept me going all the way till night. Loved it . By the time I left, a huge line had formed, so if you do come here for lunch, better make a reservation.

Be the first to ReplyMust Go Place in London!
People always say the food in London is bad. There are some truth of it. But how bad it is? We had fish 'n' chips and award winning sausages in a nice pub, I can't even describe the taste. Yea, pretty bad. Finally, we found Dishroom near Covent Garden. We were really happy to finally have a decent dinner in London. The food is awesome, the service is wonderful. Garlic Nann bread is so tasty. I cant stop eating it. Everything is wonderful there.
Be the first to ReplyIncredible!
One of the best meals I have had in a vey very long time! Made all the better by the amazing service we received by our incredible sever Margot who made the experience unforgettable! Will be back soon!
Be the first to ReplyWishing for more spice!
Very attentive, friendly, and efficient staff! The cocktails were excellent and the food was very good, however, not being able to customize the spice level when ordering was disappointing. We are Indian food connoisseurs and had been looking forward to this meal above all others. We prefer very spicy food and had high hopes for Dishoom based on experiences at other top Indian restaurants. However, we learned that everything is made at the same spice level and chopped peppers are available to guests to add if they want to add spice. However, as with many ethnic cuisine, if the spices are not layered and simmered during the cooking process, itโs just not the same. Overall the food was flavorful and Iโd say itโs PERFECT for large groups with members who canโt take too much heat.

Had the best experience in London. My friends had great thoughts about the decor. Loved the atmosphere. Will definitely come back
Be the first to ReplyA Definite Must
A meal is a must here. Because not only was the food amazing, the service was exceptional! Warm, personable and impressively efficient, a full restaurant with a long, long queue outside was no problem for them. Food came fast and wonderfully tasty. Must tries : chicken ruby, biriyani and chicken tikka. The on-the-house chai masala was a perfect end to the dinner. Donโt let the queue outside put you off. It is worth the wait.
Be the first to ReplyVery good
Stopped in for breakfast after a long overnight flight to London. Unique breakfast menu and the dishes we ordered were very good. Will return for dinner sometime as the evening menu looks quite interesting.
Be the first to ReplyWill visit again!!!
We visited this place at 12:30 on Sunday without reservation and luckily got a table :) We were three people and ordered fried shrimps as starters, chicken biriyani, butter chicken curry and lamb chops as mains. All dishes were so delicious, perfectly seasoned!! I would definitely go back again. By the time we left- around 1:30 pm there was people queuing outside. Seemed that we walked in at good timing!
Be the first to ReplyAlways fantastic
We have dined at Edinburgh, Kensington Dishoom before so first time here. Really big restaurant but as always with Dishoom there are plenty of staff. We didnโt wait long to be seated though it was about 5pm on a Sunday. Staff are always lovely in Dishoom, well trained and managed. The food was gorgeous. We had the House Chaat as it is a favourite, the Bhel was spicy and delicious , the black daal and the chicken tikka roomali roti and a garlic naan. That was plenty for two people . Washed down with their fabulous Colaba Colada. Always a delight.love Dishoom and all that they do
