. literally starving, and had a taste for piazza, but not just any ole New York-on-every-corner pizza. i wanted a good, delicious, cheesy, mmmmmmmmm, cant-stop-gotta-have-one-more-slice-pizza.. so, a freind reccomended. don antonio..i entered the door, and from the moment my foot stepped inside , the smell of all those Italian herbs and spices hit my senses, and i knew i was in for a treat...and was i? .. the answer ....yes!!!!! i met OSCAR, the nicest person there .... i asked him about the pizzas and he patiently explained to me the different spices and toppings and cheeses... so ... i ordered the best pizza I've ever had in New York... with lots of cheese.. lots!!!. the crust melted in my mouth.... what a delight for my sensesTHANKS OSCAR!!!I'll be back ... probably in a few days... hahhahahahakc the pizza lover

the Montanara is the reason for the 3 star :((( the fried dough was very oily and had a strange flavor. I asked the server if the same oil is used to fry dough and meat stuff. He insisted different oils are used. But why did my fried pizza taste fishy and weirdly oily? hubby got the regular Napoli style and he loved it. so, note to management - Hope the oil is changed regularly and truly you are not using same oil for dough and meats.
Be the first to ReplyFood was amazing! Great spot near Times Square.
So good, we went back a second time on our 4 day trip to NY. Quality was phenomenal. Loved their Italian old fashion. Pizza and appetizers and desserts were one of our highlights of our trip. Highly recommend! Ambiance and service was top notch.
Be the first to ReplyService was great! Pizza was some of the best.
The Gluten free pizza was delicious as well.

Ordered a pizza for delivery about 30 minutes before they closed. Order went through but pizza never arrived. Finally I called, was told they weren't delivering my pizza and I would still be charged! The man was very rude, calling me "honey" and claimed I didn't provide an address! I could see the address on my online order confirmation! I ended up filing a dispute with my credit card company to get my money back. I won. I was sent a photo of my order from Don Antonio's end, address was clearly stated! They obviously lied because they didn't want to do anymore deliveries that night. Very disappointed, a someone with Celiac disease I was really looking forward to the GF pizza, but they lost a customer, never again.
Be the first to ReplyFabulous.
It requires a certain amount of characters even though this is really a good summary. We had an app that had a little of each of the fried appetizers. Oh my. The depth of flavor in each was awesome. Then the pizza was a pistachio pesto with sausage and mozzarella garnished with fresh basil. Superb. I mean really. Best pizza we've ever had. Our cocktails were delicious too. The service was on point, friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. Cozy place but we felt well attended to and didn't have a wait for a Sunday evening. After a busy day of touring NYC and checking out Times Square just a few blocks out, it was a nice respite. Can't forget dessert-- funnel cake type fried dough strips with Nutella and powder sugar. Perfect end to a great weekend in NYC.

...sopravvalutato. Such a disappointment. So my friend and I went here tonight because it's, ya know some Michelin rated restaurant and all. To start we ordered and insalata mista, which was wonderful and we order some calzones as an appetizer. It was the montanatine genovese... it was horrible. You have this amazing fried dough that's piping hot, served with this iced cold onion chutney atop of it. The first bite is shocking and then by the second bite, you're like WTF?!, this is gross and then you have to scrape all the onions off the top of the fried dough and to the corner of the plate. It was so disturbing, and I LOVE onions, (like love, can eat raw) that I called the waiter over to question why the dish tasted this way. I expressed to him that the onions were iced cold. His response was "it's Italian, that's how it's served." No apologies, no can I fix this?...can I get you something else? Such a disappointment. The pizza came, it was fine, we ate it.We will not be back. It's a shame Gotham Pizza closed down and the tourists will continue to get caught up in the hype of this place. I won't be back.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing appetizers and pizzas.
Mini calzone apps and rice balls were fantastic. The fried dough pizza is a unique twist and so worth the extra calories. The "butcher" pizza is top notch as well. Advice: try not to go too close to broadway showtimes or you will have to wait quite a bit.
Be the first to ReplySecond time tried fried pizza and it's even worse.
Toooooo oily! The pizza was served broken, cheese was cold and frozen. Baked pizza looks good but I haven't tried.
Be the first to ReplyNice spot with a large menu and many gluten free options.
Apps were okay, but our pizza was really good. Wasn't super busy when we went, around 7pm on a Wednesday. Staff kept our water glasses full which I appreciated.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is all about their pizza and more.
The tables are situated close to each other like a busy NYC eatery but the rustic decor makes you feel like you are in Neapolitan italy. once your food arrives all your senses kick in and confirm you are in italy. the pizzas are picture perfect and just enough char without any burnt taste. The Pizza is Super thin with a prominent crust that is light and perfectly chewy. We ordered two pies that were 4 slices each and we took home two slices . we also shared a salad that was super light on the dressing and the appetizer sampler that was hot and crispy. the empanada was like a savory zeolite filled with firm cheese and pepper and was my favorite. There was a potato croquette with cheese inside and an arancini and frittatine which was a spaghetti filled arancini.
Be the first to ReplyHad an absolutely awesome fried pizza and good wine.
friendly staff, will definitely stop by again and send friends
Be the first to ReplyI eat here a few times a year.
The crust (my favorite part) was burnt. And there was also a burnt taste throughout the whole pie. Disappointed. Service - subpar.

We were on our way to a different restaurant on a Sunday night after hours of tourist stuff and seeing the very emotional 9/11 memorial when we saw Don Antonio twinkling across the street like it was just waiting to be found by us.After perusing the menu outside, we decided to go for it.Pretty busy and a little crowded but they were able to seat us at a table - party of four. The Cinc Pinot Grigio was refreshing, the lady waiting on our table was busy, efficient and friendly. We ordered the frittatine to start. I wasn't sure I was going to like it but it had a weird appeal - perfect crunch on the outside and tender decadence on the inside with just the right pop of ham. I drizzled some of the spicy olive oil on mine and became even more fascinated. For main course, 3 of us did pizza - a marinara (there's no cheese on that one folks), a Gio's marinara that does have a little pecorino plus some baby tomatoes and a margherita with artichokes. One of our group ordered the angioletti salad. The pizzas were unique, the crust with just the right pieces of char. The salad was delicious.But... the star of the show is what the waitress described to us as a Nutella churro. I am not sure what the actual name on the menu was and I have eaten a lot of churros in my day - and this wasn't one. She asked us if we wanted for 2 or 4 - we said for 2 - because we were already pretty full. What came out was just beautiful - not a churro and very generous in size. It was more like a doughnut or funnel cake dough with amazing Nutella....We found Don Antonio on accident - next time we will go on purpose.

Solid choice of coal oven pizza I loved the Keste with prosciutto and mozzarella and arugula
Be the first to ReplyThe best gluten free pizza I've ever had.
We come here or go to their other restaurant ( Kesti) to have the pizza. We travel from MN to have it at least twice a year

The pizza crust was raw, the server was nice but shut down any special requests before we we even made a drink order.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic pizza spot in Midtown.
One of the best Neapolitan pizzas I've had in recent years- the pizza was crispy, well balanced and fresh. My servers were very nice and despite how busy the restaurant was, my pie came out in under 15 minutes.

I was in New York a week and a half ago and visited this amazing little Italian Pizza place. I'm still thinking about it and I want to plan a trip back to NYC just to eat some more of this pizza. I had the Truffle Burrata Pizza. It was the best authentic wood fire Italian pizza I've ever had. I absolutely loved it. Thank you for a wonderful NYC Italian pizza experience! I didn't get a picture though... I was too ready to dive in!
Be the first to ReplyWe had wonderful pizzas and the Pere& noci salad.
Very attentive waiters and waitresses! It is clean and perfect for an evening out!!

Wonderful pizza, super courteous service, we will be back!Came here after a colleague recommended. Glad we did. First off, they are busy but super courteous. We got a good table for 4 at a busy week day night. Servers and runners were also quick and friendly.Food was fantastic. Our favorite was the Truffle Burratta pizza, followed by the excellent Keste (with Prosciutto to die for). The Anniversary special edition was fantastic as well, and the Vesuvio was a very generpua pizza (filled). Their dough is simply perfect. The ingredients fresh and their combinations are classic and also new. They have good wine selection and great cocktails. Give them a try. They are perfectly located for Broadway play!

So I haven't been in the city since Covid and things have changed at Don Antonio. We went on a Saturday night and easily sat at the bar seat. We ordered one size only pizzas unfortunately cost have gone up. Mateo, one Bartender was very nice. I guess we asked for sauce for our pizza's but we're told we couldn't have it with the pizza .. really?!? There are lots of places that put sauce on their Pizza. The quality of the pizzas are for sure great but one can hope that covid hasn't changed us for ever.
Be the first to ReplyVery friendly, attentive staff.
Our 2 pizzas (Pistachio Pesto Sausage and Marguerite with Salami) were delicious. The kids loved this place!
Be the first to ReplyReally fresh pizza.
You could taste every ingredient. Fast service. We unexpectedly became in a rush and had no problem with service (without even telling them we needed to leave quickly).
Be the first to ReplyThis place is busy.
.. they do move you right along though. Not a ton of space but they pack you in. The pizza doesn't have many of the traditional American toppings but you should find something that you enjoy . The toppings offered do taste fresh. The pizza comes out quickly as it is cooked in a hot oven. The crust is on the thinner side. Enjoy it...
