A dairy free dream!
If you’re avoiding dairy (or not) you must visit double zero! I went twice in 5 days on a solo work trip. Once I dined in and once I got takeout. I ordered pesto pizza, cacio e pepe, ceasar salad and pepperoni pizza. It’s all vegan and it’s delicious. The restaurant space is small but has a great vibe. If this place was local to me I would be there often. A must try!
Be the first to ReplyBEST. PIZZA. EVER
My family and I were very impressed with the pizza here! They had a great base and was just yummy overall. Great service, very friendly.
Be the first to ReplyGreat NY style pizza
This is a genuine NY Style pizza made by guys from my home. They understand the key ingredient is the dough and they have it down. They use a flame burning oven and get those burn bubbles around the crust while keeping the burrata cheese and tomato sauce mixed and moist. They rank right up there with Pizzana Tried the standard marguhrita and will be back for the truffle pizza.
Be the first to ReplyWarning - no meat..
Menu say Pepperoni pizza and meatballs.. dont let you fool - there is absolutely no meat in this. Place is nice and service great. Noise level seem high for such a small place. Not $$ more like $$$.
Be the first to ReplyNot worth the hype
I travel the World for work and I think L A is the best vegan city on the planet. To my excitement I discovered Double Zero had opened 5 min from where I live and I was super excited to try it out! Unfortunatley it wasn’t worth the hype. I do love the interior and also the mood lighting and ambience. It feels Upscale but still informal Enough to not dress up for dinner. But, food is super pricey. Two pizzas (very small) and three ”meatballs” without drinks - 85usd incl grattitude. Waaay to Much. The vegan cheese is ok but there’s hardly any cheese on the pizzas.. the Margherita...? No can do.
If I’m feeling for Vegan/Italian I’ll make my way to west Hollywood and Pura Vita instead. They serve delish food, they are all organic and servings are bigger.
I want to love Double Zero but it is just not what I hoped for. Vegan pizza can be FAB! Try eating at Purezza in London for example. That’s the way to do it!
There’s no bad dish here!
Let me start by saying I’ve gone to Double Zero every night (solo) for the past 10 days and try something different every time. Easy to do here because of the chef’s obvious expertise and creativity. Their staff is fun and join in my nightly menu exploration, offering their own personal favorites. I never feel like a lonely diner because of the communal table set up of this restaurant. The restaurant is better known as a pizza place but I like their “not pizza” choices more so. I can attest that there is no bad selection, pizza or otherwise. If pressed to choose, my favorites are the (1) Eggplant Parmesan and (2) the Cacio e Pepe with a side of Baked Meatballs. The Orange Wine is worth a try—it is my nightly go-to beverage. I’m not vegan and my dietary preference makes no difference to this review. Everything, everyone is simply delicious.
Be the first to ReplyBest Italian/vegan food in Los Angeles
I have never been here but it is so worth the drive from Orange County. The pizza was amazing the cheese melted in my mouth. Everything was amazing but the bolognese pasta was divine. You could not even know it is not meat. The pasta was made from scratch and had a foot bite and texture. If you are in Santa Monica or Venice beach it is well worth coming here. It is healthy and your little ones will like the food if you bring your family. This is by far better than cafe gratitude. And is family owned. By far the best vegan and in my top 3 along with au lac in fountain valley and mikes in Friday harbor (Seattle) WA
Be the first to ReplyAwesome vegan pizza but very expensive
This place is great, the restaurant itself is very nice and staff are very friendly. They offer wine pairing but we didn’t go for that.
The pizza is delicious, one of the best I’ve tried and I’ve tried a lot.
We ate the truffle, margherita, potato and pesto pizzas and they were all great with my favourite being the truffle.
Marked down a point due to price as it is pretty pricey.
Vegan pizza (🍕) awesome, Matthew Kenney restaurant
Normally I don't seek out vegan pizza but by partner does. We have been to Matthew Kenney's Plant+Wine in Miami so we thought that we would try the pizza joint in Venice Beach. Glad that we did as the pizza's were good. The service and ambiance were also great.
