Picture this, you're walking through miami when suddenly you feel famished, you walk into dr. smood's cafe just to find your self in hell's kitchen if it was run by satan instead of gordon ramsey. If I could give this place a 0, I would. keeping in mind this is quick service, 18$ for a sandwich, 17$ for cold pasta? Fine. 18$ and 17$ for the ocean in your mouth? Rancid. Disgusting. I love salty food but I couldn't even eat this. We had to order the sandwich on top of the spinach pasta because it made us want to vomit. How can a cafe be "the healthiest cafe in miami" when it is as salty as the atlantic ocean. The employees seemed snobbish, never again. This is the jouch (jean couch) of cafes, overpriced, modern, and plain ugly. I have NEVER written a review, but this café made me need to as I have never tasted something so gross from an establishment.
Be the first to ReplyEnjoyed my espresso here and grabbed a water.
Staff is awesome and they have a bathroom for customers if you need a rest stop while shopping. I'll be back whenever I'm in the area for coffee and healthy treats
Be the first to ReplyAbsolute trash.
Worst coffee I've ever had. Gas stations can make better lattes. Tasted burnt and was $7

The coffee taste so bad, like how can coffee taste bad? It's literally so bad that I can't even take three sip, so goodbye 7$. The staff is very nice and the space is nice too tho.
Be the first to ReplyWe've been frequenting Smood for a few years now.
Lately, service sucks - I mean, worse than Starbucks and definitely worse than my local coffee shop - and they've gotten sloppy with preparation. Our two most recent visits have resulted in spending upwards of around $60 on 4 hawaj shakes and an avocado toast. None of these items were done properly. The avocado was sparse and slapped onto barely toasted spelt bread. The hawaj shakes were first given without whipped cream or toppings because they ran out (it was only noon...) and second time given without toppings. It was noticeable that the recipes were different each time - making me wonder if they were out of ingredients for the shakes themselves, too. This wouldn't have been so big a problem for me had I been told they're out of some things ahead of time. They had the chance to. I stood at the register for a good 4 minutes before the cashier took my order because she was talking about something presumably (from listening in as they communicated) unimportant with a co-worker. It's not like I was hiding or anything, I was wearing bright red and standing right next to the counter facing her.Tldr, Smood has lost it's magic. I was fine paying a ridiculous amount for hot chocolate and tumeric ginger lattes when they was served with care and tocotrienols. Sometimes it was a meal replacement with how full I felt afterwards - so I could justify it all. Now, it's just Starbucks with worse regulation and service. I never leave satiated. If there's not going to be many of the ingredients listed on the menu in the dishes and drinks you serve, you should just close up shop.

Service was quick - you order at the counter and your food will be ready quite quickly! Food was not impressive compared to the price. The kale salad was not satisfying but the spicy jalapeño toast had a nice kick. Ambiance was very nice!!

In a nutshell: Great SoHo location, OK for a stop and charge your phone not so much as work place, and in terms of the coffee offering... it is... a very well acquired niche taste.GOODAmazing location, sitting outside to watch people if the weather allows, is the best option; Perhaps the desserts are great to pair it with.BADI've been there twice, the first time the dispatcher acted annoyed at my questions and no poker face at all when I attempted to pay with cash (hello, how am I suppose to know your "business rules", am I expected to use my mind reading abbilities? Like that? It is rude, without permission! WORSTNO CASH ALLOWED. If this is not enough for you, how about cappuccino in almond milk with pretty much taste the same (what varies is the quality and flavor of the coffee) anywhere, but not here... Using the word acquired taste would be too generous to describe that horrible THING they dare say it's coffe or almond milk, doesn't taste like neither!!! On my first visit that golden latte thing tasted like a potent ginger-like beverage that it was not tasty but too aggresive for my palette so I did not finished it.On my second and most recent visit, I decided to stop by to charge my phone and use my laptop to answer to some emails. Although my interaction at the cash register was way more pleasant than last time, I was so mad at that thing they call cappucino in almond milk that I had no choice but to slowly nurse it as I was able to work through. It wasn't long I noticed the room temperature to drop, I turn back and coincidentally that employee from my first visit was dead-eye looking at me. I am OK, is not personal things happen to coincide like that but bottom line, I did not felt welcome neither their brand is my taste so I guess is best to part ways.
Be the first to ReplyThey were out of everything by 4 p.
m. when we stopped by. No "smoodies," no juices, nothing. The only thing they had was cold brew and NO milk for them. It was ridiculous but it was the first nice September weekend after school started so maybe everyone just wanted a smoothie.
Be the first to ReplyStopped in just for coffee with a small group.
Clean, organized, and uncrowded - a beautiful sight for NYC during fashion week! While the coffee was brewed decently, since this is such a health oriented place, they only had Stevia, which I loathe. I wish to God they would at least have Splenda, which is so much tastier. Still, a decent cup of coffee and a side of good health.
Be the first to ReplyVery cute place.
Avocado toasted was perfect. I'll definitely come back to try other items on the menu.

The food is pretty good but do NOT come here for a quick bite despite the looks of it- you are going to be majorly delayed. The employees are always untrained and inexperienced which makes me suspect they aren't paid or treated properly/ high turnover. A badly ran place, which also happens to be super overpriced

Dr. Smood is a nice little spot to stop in to it you want a healthy snack, smoothie, or a pre made juice. They have coffee and tea options available as well. It's a normal NYC priced shop, the little turmeric booster I got was $5.95 and the smoothies are around $10-12 each. The avocado toast has two side options which is nice, and they have other healthy sandwich and bowl options. The service was a little delayed, but they were pretty busy so it was understandable! They have plenty of indoor seating, but not all of the seats have outlets, only the tall chairs by the window, and free guest wifi so it's a nice place to work or study! There is outdoor seating available as well, and they have a bathroom available for customers.
Be the first to ReplyGOLDEN MYLK LATTERate: 4/10Service was ass and unorganized.
The latte itself was nothing like I've ever had before. It contains honey, turmeric, and black pepper + cashew milk. Overall it's a unique latte; however, it's grainy af and not strong enough to get you wired. Food and drinks are not worth the price!! NOTE: I waited a good thirty mins for my food for them to realize that they forgot to make it. I probably waited a total of 45 mins.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is trash.
Never had bitter espressos before but got a rude introduction today. Green juice tasted like what I'd imagine would come out of Shrek's behind. Just sayin.

Great concept, excellent atmosphere I had their ice latte with homemade oat milk: $8 I don't recommend this coffee drink if you're a latte person. It was so watery and too acidicCocoa protein smoothie: $11 it's pretty good I know this is nyc, but I think healthy drinks should've cost less.

If you're like to eat healthy, This is your place! I ordered the green and go Raw Oats with the raspberry purée! Delicious & Healthy! The staff is friendly too!! Win! Win! Win!

went here to grab a quick bite after myworkout before shopping around in soho. we got some coffee, smoothies, salmon avocado toast, and a tuna sandwich. the place has a clean and crispy vibe that I love from a smoothie shop. We enjoyed our brekkie and it was great sustenance for our retail therapy session afterwards!

***BAD COFFEE, WORSE SERVICE***If you want to be consistently disappointed, this is your spot! The only good thing they have is consistency - expect watery coffee and rude service every time. If you enjoy being ignored by pretentious baristas who prioritize talking about their weekend over doing their job, come here.
Be the first to ReplyI LOVE this place.
Their avocado toast is the best I've ever had & all of their drinks are amazing. When I go there's usually not a long line & some open seats!

I stumbled upon this cute smoothie spot while I was doing a little fun photoshoot right outside of it and wanted a refreshing drink. There was an ad outside for a mango smoothie but when we went inside they didnt have it which was a let down. I used my free coffee from yelp and I loved the bean, I tasted great but the coffee didn't work for me lol. It's very expensive, the smoothie cost me $11 and I wasn't necessarily blown away by it. It's worth a try, they do have good looking meals inside as well as a to-go fridge that had great options.
