Amazing view
An excellent lunch. The pie at the end was amazing loved it. I ordered the breakfast burrito which was good but needed more sauce. The location is spectacular as is the information about Duke
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, drinks, service, and view
My wife and I are never disappointed at Duke's: great food, drinks, service, and view of the ocean. Parking is reasonable for Malibu, too. What we enjoyed most recently: crab macadamia nut wontons and the fish tacos complemented by a Mai Tai and a Lava Flow. Our server (Kobe) was friendly and efficient.

Fantastic -ambience, service, and food. It’s a remarkable place! Everything was delicious and the service was impeccable.
Be the first to ReplyGo For the Seafood, Stay for the Hula Pie
Very good seafood, Hula Pie, tepid sides, leaky roof! Pros: - Main dishes are very good. Flavorful, hot, varied and creative. - Great service, from valet to host/hostess to servers. - Great location right on the beach. - Reasonably priced for quality, service, and location. Maybe. (See Cons.) - Good appetizers, save for the crab wontons. - Hula pie. I repeat, Hula Pie! Cons: - Have been several times for dinner within a short span. When raining, roof leaks! Must dodge buckets on the floor. - Sides tend to be almost room temperature on all the meals we had (about 20 over our visits). Consistently so. - Didn't care for crab wontons. More appropriate name: Cream Cheese Wontons. - Price: Okay, it is reasonable. But through a fluke, we went Friday night then ended back Saturday night. In the 24-hour period almost everything had increased by $2 - from the valet parking to the meals. Not sure if this was weekend pricing, or a permanent increase. I don't intellectually object to demand pricing, nor price increases, but emotionally it turned me off. If demand pricing, why didn't the menu or other signage indicate different prices for different days/times? (I'll get over this...) In short: A very good place. I'll be back, but I'll specifically ask that the sides be warm!
Be the first to ReplyGreat overall experience
Great food, service, and views. The only thing I’d do different next time is skip the nachos. The taste was good but the chips would break when you tried to pull them off the paper. Plus they were very greasy.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect end to CA trip during “atmospheric river”
The last 10 days did not offer the best weather, but the stop at Dukes around 4 PM made up for it. Delicious beer wine and fish served expertly by Sebastian who had good stories. The window seat at sunset with the waves breaking so close that the seemed like they would hit the glass, the friendly atmosphere, and photos of the remarkable surfer/pioneer Duke made the place memorable in the best way. Thanks to the receptionist who took rosy warm pictures of us at sunset.

We are here three years ago and our son and daughter in law said it was still good so we came here for lunch. Our waiter Jon brought waters and explained a number of menu items and we went wit two appetizers to share and each couple split a main item. All food delivered hot tasty quick and everything presented well. The hula pie to finish the meal was spectacular typical Malibu prices to match exceptional food
Be the first to ReplyGreat location, premises tired.
Visited Dukes for drinks, the bar area is good and service was great. Can't comment on food but restaurant looked fairly basic and the ventilation could be improved. The place looks a bit tired but great location on the waterfront.
Be the first to ReplyFish With A View!
Excellent views and still a very good place to eat (4.5+ stars). We had the daily fish special. The fish was of decent quality and had an excellent flavour. We will be back.
Be the first to ReplyIt's always a stop for us in Malibu
We've been to Duke's in Hawaii and Malibu. Good menu, but it gets crowded so make a reservation. Carmin our server was fantastic. We had our rehearsal dinner and reception on that site and returned for our anniversary. It was well worth the trip. We will be back! (save room for dessert-Hula Pie)
Be the first to ReplyREAL NICE PLACE TO STOP ON PCH FOR LUNCH AS WE DID,VIEWS GOOD,FOOD AVERAGE TO GOOD
Pleasant enough place too eat at,has a vast surfing history, food we tried was average, clam chowder soup Luke warm, main course mistake and given wrong dish ( it was quiet) amended quickly by our waiter,as a way od apology given the Hula cake as recompense…do not miss this cake WOW and DOUBLE WOW…..good place too stop en route …
Be the first to ReplyHighly recommend
My family (2 adults and 2 children) spent a week in LA for spring break. We made a reservation for dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday. Duke's was his pick and it did not disappoint - great food and service and ambiance. Plus my husband received a comped slice of hula cake with a candle for his birthday. Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyDukes is right on the ocean
Great customer service oriented staff. Location right on the ocean. SA in bar area which was crowded but a pleasant clientele. Food is good - calimari might not be what you are used to. Reasonable pricing.
Be the first to ReplyGreat location, very good food and perfect hospitality
We had lunch there: seared ahi bowl and sauteed fish of the day. Everything was very good, staff is very friendly and we enjoyed the seaview.
The hula pie for dessert is a must, but should be shared. It is giant!
Last but not least, we had a very nice chat with the real „Gidget“ who is the first iconic surfing women.
Sunset place
Great fish and meet!
In love with the amazing view, specially during the sunset.
Try the tuna and the coconut shrimp!
We'll be back :)
Great View, Delicious Meal, Awesome Hula Pie
We stopped for late lunch and waited no more than 10 minutes for a table - and got a beautiful view of the ocean with the islands in the background. Wow! On a beautiful SoCal day, we enjoyed macadamia nut crusted halibut and bbq pork ribs. Big portions on both and very flavorful. We noticed everyone around us was ordering a big hunk of pie, so we left room for a piece of Hula Pie -- macadamia nut ice cream with Oreo crust with chocolate drizzle and whipped cream. It was crazy good!!
Be the first to ReplyMy 1st choice eatery when I travel to Cali a few times per year
The food is always fresh and cooked to perfection, only the freshest ingredients. Ocean front, nestled between the mountains and the ocean. Wonderful place to sit oceanside and enjoy incredible dolphin and whale sightings every time! The menu is fairly small, could expand that a bit. Never a bad experience. I've taken several people and suggested this place to numerous others. All positive feedback from them as well! Excellent hiking trails just directly across the HWY. Just go up the road a bit until you come across the trailhead.
Be the first to ReplyNice view and food
Stopped by yesterday for lunch. Made a reservation but really didn’t need it because it wasn’t busy. The staff were all pleasant. Had a great waiter and our food was great/ I got the Huli Huli chicken and it was delish. For dessert we all shared a Hula Pie. Large portion. Fed 4 of us. Will def stopped in again when in the area. Great views as well.
Be the first to ReplyDon’t order the Stake and Fries.Don’t go.
Today we had the worst stake meal ever. Firstly the restaurant is dated and the fit out has no story and no atmosphere. Only when it fills up with customers it feels ok. Otherwise it feels your eating in a old school hall,if it was not for the amazing position and the wonderful ocean views it would be so dull,a couple of pictures of Duke just is not enough. The stake was so small it was a joke we asked for it to be cooked medium it cone out well done burnt in some places, they could not even get the fry’s cooked properly over cooked oil saturated dark brown discussing, mushroom sauce tasty but no mushrooms bits, salad was the best element on plate and that was average, even the plating presentation was very pore.I understand this may be a old favourite for some but we were very disappointed with everything. The only positive was a lovely older lady that greeted us as we entered the Restaurant she might have been the owner,I’m sorry but our experience with all of it was horrible.
