Very basic food so nothing crazy, but all still really good
Very basic food so nothing crazy, but all still really good and huge portions. The coconut shrimp was fantastic! Get there early though! The wait can be super long.

Fun, a few vegan options and a great view! It is iconic and is a must do if you are in Waikiki.
Be the first to ReplyDukes is always a good time and has a great location.
Whether dining for brunch or a later meal, there's something on the menu for everyone. The service is great due to the up eat wait staff. And the ambiance is perfect for a vacation, lively but not too loud. I try to come every time I come to the island. And the one thing I get every single time is a fish entree and a mai tai. They're always perfect.
Be the first to ReplyDuke's Waikiki is a good place for brunch on Sundays.
They serve an all you can eat buffet from 7am to 11am. Brunch includes a 3 choices of prepared omelette selections, code, teas or sodas. They have salad and a good variety of fresh local fruit. Banana pancakes and cinnamon swirl French toast with coconut cream syrup. They offer plenty of protein items such as bacon, Portuguese sausage and chicken sausage links along scrambled eggs. They food was fresh and hot. Service was excellent. Our server came around frequently refilling our beverages and clearing out any dirty dishes. The ambiance was nice. We sat outside under the umbrellas and enjoyed the views of the ocean and beach side. Nice, soft music was playing in the background. Duke's is a great local establishment that's been around for years! Definitely worth checking out Duke's if you're in the downtown area of Honolulu at Waikiki Beach. They are right next to the famous pink historic hotel The Royal Hawaiian.
Be the first to ReplyDuke's was an awesome experience X2, as we dined at lunch
Duke's was an awesome experience X2, as we dined at lunch and early evening. Central Waikiki location between Kalakaua Ave and the beach, an easy walk for most hotels. The service was stellar on both locations, and we were seated within 10 minutes without reservations. Hulu Hulu Chicken was a treat and a Hawaiian favorite, crispy coconut shrimp and a pulled pork sandwich with mango BBQ sauce. The dinner salad, cabbage slaw and French fries were tasty too. A huge draft beer selection, a broad wine selection and a killer Kimo's Original Hula Pie desert. Duke's features a huge buffet as well, reasonably priced for being in a Waikiki location. Duke's surfer theme restaurant was full of historic photos of celebrities and Hawaiian history. Several days a week during happy hour the back patio features a fabulous local band, packed with locals and tourists enjoying Island tunes.

We had lunch here on VALENTINE DAY and the weather, atmosphere and FOOD was EXCELLENT!
Be the first to ReplyHighly recommend Dukes! Great staff, food, and overall
Highly recommend Dukes! Great staff, food, and overall environment. Very reasonably priced. I went 4 times during my stay and will forever come back. Every day that I came there was always some sort of breakfast, lunch, or dinner buffet. Drinks are great would recommend the mimosa flight. Thank you Dukes for the best experience!
Be the first to ReplyDukes is a crowd favorite.
You can come for breakfast lunch or dinner and find yourself some yummy food. Breakfast burrito is a must! However I was annoyed at the amount of tortillas chips served, don't be shy, gimme more. Standard breakfast plate was delicious if you're not feeling too adventurous and wanting a local favorite like a loco moco. Service was just okay! Everything was made better by the views.
Be the first to ReplyExpensive but delicious food and pristine service.
Best first night meal in Waikiki. We are very glad we ate here
Be the first to ReplyIt's an amazing location and the place is nice.
It's loud and crowded because they have a ton of people there but in a good way. The service is decent. They're very busy and clearly don't have enough people working there but the servers were all quite nice. But the food sucks. Bland, warm instead of hot, overcooked, etc. It's a factory and like McDonalds they're focused on volume, not quality.

Drinks and a views were fantastic! Finding a table is hard at sunset so get there early! Service was quick and the bartenders made delicious drinks!
Be the first to ReplyThe place was super busy, there were no tables to be had
The place was super busy, there were no tables to be had outside on the lanai, which is much preferred due to the ambience in view and live music. However, my friend, and I found a high table with chairs out toward the front lobby of Dukes, almost at the entrance. We had Waikiki-priced cocktails (insert your favorite phrase: airport-priced, resort-priced). Although we paid a premium price for the cocktails, the server was friendly, despite being busy as heck, and it was nice to be in Waikiki again after a long hiatus.
Be the first to ReplyFood is good, but the hula pie is 5 stars! It's packed!
Food is good, but the hula pie is 5 stars! It's packed! Make reservations, otherwise you could be waiting 2-4 hours for a table.
Be the first to ReplyThe food arrived cold.
Waited over 2 hours to get a table outside for my daughters birthday. Hostess said she'd do her best to honor our request. She didn't honor our request & when I asked if we could wait longer after seating us in the middle of the restaurant at a noisy table she actually LIED to our face and said everyone at the 4 rows of tables we requested had just ordered. Within 8 minutes ( yes, I timed it ) 6 tables left and were reseated. I was so upset she lied right to our faces. Wish she'd been honest we would have went somewhere else. The food was cold, old and terrible. The hostess lied to our faces about the other tables. It beyond left a terrible taste in my mouth. The Mai Tai's were awful as well. Staff couldn't care less other than trying to quickly turn over tables. Never ever have I waited hours for a table and lied about seating Still shocked! This place doesn't deserve your business they're just interested in turning tables and racking up you bill.

Great breakfast buffet with lots of choices, including tons of fresh fruit, although if you are a vegan, I would recommend stopping just inside the entry way and going to the Sunrise Shack instead. Service was great, drinks constantly refilled. Duke's is a Waikiki classic!
Be the first to ReplyI got denied service even though I am over 21.
They were so rude, and manager treats customers poorly. Don't bother going here.
Be the first to ReplyThis was the fastest service we've ever gotten, we had to
This was the fastest service we've ever gotten, we had to come here twice not because the service was great and fast but on top of that the food was so good!! We had the same thing twice lol but it was delicious both times the fries are so good as well, we had the dukes cheese burger and the chicken BLT. Both perfectly cooked and with perfect amount of meat. Recommend the lava flow drink it's the best cocktail. They serve our food so quickly it's insane, all the servers/ workers are super friendly from the ladies in the front to our server everyone is super sweet, and attentive, considering it's usually really busy hence it being right on the beach. The first time we went we didn't have a reservation and got seated in 10 minutes probably less it was great definitely Recommend to visit for a good lunch or dinner!

We went to Duke's on a Sunday (yes, we are Jimmy Buffett fans). What a great time. Michael, our waiter was attentive and friendly. The staff who served us were gracious and efficient. Above all, the ambience was great. The place has an amazing history in Honolulu's story. Duke was an impressive man. The outdoor music started playing at 4:00pm and was the cherry on top.
Be the first to ReplyDuke's Waikiki undoubtedly exudes an inviting and energetic
Duke's Waikiki undoubtedly exudes an inviting and energetic atmosphere, making it a popular spot for many diners. However, be prepared for a short wait to be seated due to the high volume of patrons. Our server was efficient and attentive, and our meals were promptly served, as we had hoped. Regrettably, the food itself did not live up to our expectations. The chicken was dry and lacked any complementary sauce, accompanied by equally desiccated rice. It's worth mentioning that Duke's Waikiki offers a reasonably priced lunch buffet, but unfortunately, there were limited gluten-free options available, which wasn't an option for us. Despite the mouth-watering ambiance, the food fell short and left us wishing for a more flavorful experience at Duke's Waikiki.
Be the first to ReplyFood was very good.
But what I ordered was a small portion. It's a good thing we added the salad bar for $7. My wife had Sautรฉed Mac Nut & Herb Crusted Fresh Fish she said it was a 5. I had the seafood in ginger. Not much for the price. We also tried the hola pie. It was good. Ask about the story of the hola pie. Live music. Or waiter did a great job. Try it but if you need filled. Don't get the seafood and ginger. Aloha

Love these loves this place locals don't find it very interesting. A bar to hang out at. Definitely Waikiki style so if that's what you're looking for it's the place for you. Enjoy if that's your style.
Be the first to ReplyI ordered the steak Street tacos and they were the best
I ordered the steak Street tacos and they were the best I've had. We also ordered the cheeseburger and it was very good as well. We will definitely be going back! Amazing!
Be the first to ReplyI'm struggling with this review because I normally love
I'm struggling with this review because I normally love Duke's. I've been to this location numerous times, and to Duke's in Kaanapali countless times. It's a cute little tradition for my partner and I to have our first dinner on the island at Duke's on the evening we arrive in Oahu, and again on the day we leave. Duke's is consistently a 4 star experience *which is really high for me!* What is there not to love about this place? It's a beautiful, oceanfront oasis. The ambiance is always lively and fun, with the sound of the waves lulling me into a state of pure bliss. Plus, the people-watching is top-notch. But the service.. oh man.. The service is just not good. This time around, I ordered the falafel naan for the first time. Keeping in mind that I'm the BIGGEST critic of middle eastern food because I'm Armenian and therefore have super high standards for MENA/SWANA cuisines. I have to admit, this was an 11/10 meal. I have never given that high of a rating to falafel that isn't from a middle eastern establishment. I'd order this over and over again now that I know how delicious it is. Fries were a bit over cooked but I didn't care much about that. I inhaled the falafel naan and washed it down with a lava flow drink, and I couldn't have been happier. My partner ordered the mango BBQ burger and really enjoyed it as well. He just wished that there were fresher components in the burger, but enjoyed it overall. Now to the cons: the service. I'd be lying if I said the service didn't need improvement, particularly at this location. On our last day in Waikiki, my partner and I wanted a lovely lunch before heading to the airport. When we arrived, the hostess told us that there's open seating so we could seat ourselves. We choose a cute little spot in the corner so we could have some time to ourselves. We didn't realize that we wouldn't get checked up on or served because of the remote table we picked. I wanted to make a change to our order, and our server was nowhere to be found. Now, this wasn't going to ruin my last day so I ignored it and went on to find her myself. However, what REALLY bothered me, and is the reason I took off one star, is the comment that was made when we were ordering. We wanted appetizers before our meal and wanted to order the nachos. When we put in our order, the server went "that's A LOT of food. The nachos come in a really big plate. Are you sure you want all of it?" Or something of that nature. I'm sure she didn't mean to come off in any type of way, but it made me feel super awkward and I ended up saying no to the appetizers and just sticking with the plates we ordered for lunch. After we finished our food, she was in a rush to clear our table and brought us the check without even asking if we wanted anything else?? This left me so confused. My partner and I always share a slice of hula pie. It's huge and so tasty, and is a bit of a tradition for us. I felt like we were being rushed out of there and I just didn't appreciate the experience as it left a bad taste in my mouth about a place I normally look forward to dining at. Overall, would I recommend Duke's? Absolutely. Will I be back? Probably.. but dang, I really wish they'd do something about the service because little things like that really matter.
Be the first to ReplyFood was great! Love the location and view.
Would definitely recommend. Had the fish and chips. Great menu!
Be the first to ReplyThe calamari was okay.
A but under seasoned. My hubby enjoyed the variety on the buffet. I had the fish and chips and it was delicious. The "pie" was sinfully delicious! We went back the next day for lunch. The place was busy, but we were able to get a nice seat on the deck. The live music was very nice.
