East Wind is a real winner!
My husband and I decided to try East Wind based on the recommendation of a friend who knows Vietnamese food very well. It was a bitter cold night, but there was easy curbside parking in front and plenty of tables available. First of all, the service is excellent. They made us feel like family. Then, without even asking him, the manager brought over a portable heater because it was chilly even inside. We ordered the Vietnamese crepe and clay pot combination with shrimp, scallops, squid, beef and chicken. Everything was delicious. I'm not normally a rice eater, but I couldn't get enough of the rice in the clay pot which had soaked up the delicious flavors. Even though we live in Maryland, it was well worth the drive, and we'll definitely be back!

We got a couple of appetizers (#1 & #12) as well as the main dishes (#30, #33, #39) and everyone liked the food. It was curbside take out, but very good.

This restaraunt is an oasis in downtown Fairfax. Old World charm. Great service and a quiet pleasant decor. The food is outstanding. Love coming here. Their lunch specials can’t be beat for value or taste!

This is an amazing restaurant! The owner and staff are so great. The food tastes amazing. The steak pho was flavorful and had the best broth. I highly recommend Eastwind! I cant wait to go back.

My spouse is vegan and I love all Asian dishes. This tends toward Thai but the flavors are more fusion. One way or the other , the food is delicious. The wait staff are pleasant and very accommodating. We both left quite pleased and plan to visit again. The location is really convent to George Mason University where my spouse was participating in a grad student simulation as a judge.
Be the first to Replyrestaurant does not look at all like its picture
I expected a restaurant that looked like the photo. It was not at all elegant like its photo. There were no tablecloths and the restaurant was very casual. The food was okay except for the one dish which was quite good.

Quality of food is exceptional matched by generous and gracious customer service. We return time and time again, never disappoints. We love this restaurant.

Great food, start to finish! I went tonight for a first date (never been before) and it was a great choice. They start you off with a bowl of crunchy shrimp chips, with a tasty fermented hot sauce on the side. I ordered the garden rolls (Goi Cuon) and the Bun Bo Hue (which most restaurants don't have), and both were delicious. And at the end they bring you a mini flan, which was one of the tastiest flans I've had. The restaurant itself is really cute, and the service is great! Would highly recommend & I'll definitely go back the next time I'm in Fairfax.

The clay pot dishes, in particular, are very good. That has been our usual order. They are, surprisingly, rarely busy at dinner time, so we've usually had no problem being seated without a reservation.

I popped in here today with my girlfriend and another couple for a delicious and affordable lunch. We really enjoyed the shrimp cracker puffs (I had never seen them) as a free appetizer to start. They have a lunch set menu with a lot of variety - I had the chicken pho, the spring rolls (with shrimp) and a soda. I was happy to see they have a lunch set menu on the weekends because I'm not used to seeing that many places in this country. The pho was large enough for a set menu portion and extremely flavorful, loved the broth so much I drank it all up. My girlfriend loved her pork vermicelli salad and the tangy sauces that go on it. For dessert, they brought out free mini-flan for the table, a nice touch! The staff was friendly and the food came out promptly.
