fun but disastrous food
Given the great respect and sympathy for Briatore, and the fact that it is no longer a restaurant like the previous Caminetto but a new place devoted more to partying than eating, it is clear that something is wrong. The quality of the food is simply terrible, from the raw materials to the way it is prepared; and it is ridiculous that on a wine list there is not a bottle of wine under €70, with very little possibility of drinking by the glass. Service more like a nightclub than a restaurant. The place is fun and the music is right for making a mess, but if you just want to eat well, it's better to forget about the old management and go elsewhere.

In the evening the structure appears like a magical place, almost at the top of a hill, enhanced by a thousand very scenic lights. The location is equally spectacular inside, with furnishings at least partly in Ampezzo style and a magnificently lit fireplace. We also liked the leathers that cover the chairs. The food we tried was excellent, in particular the pork belly was delicious; the artichoke and pecorino salad is notable; the babà served flambé is wonderful. Competent, kind, motivated and very helpful staff: the service was in fact impeccable. High prices, as one might expect; just one observation regarding the mark-ups on wines, which are really strong (they could be a little more contained...).

I don't understand the criticisms of this restaurant of exclusive quality. Sure, it's not cheap but the servings are plentiful. Mountain carbonara served in a copper bowl, spaghetti with clams and pumpkin gnocchi with artichokes, everything to try. Elegant, silent and romantic. I'll be back. The previous management was excellent but this one is no different!
Be the first to ReplyNothing to do with the Camineto dei Melon
Unfortunately there is almost nothing left of the Melon family fireplace! The location has lost a bit of its charm with all those heavy and quite kitsch leathers, after all we are now at Briatore! The waiters no longer have the beautiful and elegant Ampezzo style uniforms but the classic white shirt with black bow tie and suspenders... the maitre even wears a sleeveless down jacket in the dining room... Bah. Let's move on to the food: We ask for a red wine by the glass "we only have a Primitivo from Salento". I wonder how it is possible not to have a wine from the north (Veneto, Piedmont, Friuli, Trentino, Austria) in Cortina, at Camineto 🤔…. It seems absurd to me! We focus on a Franciacorta. The starters arrive exactly 1 minute after ordering them: evidently pre-cooked and reheated…. Oh well, let's hope for the great classic, the one that was the workhorse: spaghetti with onion. Unfortunately another disappointment. Maybe it's fine for foreigners but for us, who grew up with Meloncino first and with Camineto after (the real one!) it's a great sadness!
Be the first to ReplyRude tourism arrives in Cortina!!!
The Ampezzo Valley has always been a wonderful place. Breathtaking views, magnificent slopes and a discreet, refined and elegant worldliness. This place, unfortunately with the arrival of the Cafonal Briatore troop, has lost the typical appeal of a mountain hut which should instead be an essential characteristic of these wonderful locations. The glamor that could be felt while eating and sipping a glass at the foot of the Tofane is totally lost. Average food and prices, but dining under a plastic tent was absolutely terrible, considering that the cabin was empty! Not recommended!
Be the first to ReplyA rude thing
Terrible food, very high prices, really rude and unpleasant staff. I'm sorry to say it but before it was a completely different story. Not to mention Santanche who, as Minister of Tourism, instead of working, was there dancing among the tables for about ten days. And should guests pay more because the show is on? I propose to change the business model and pay the diners to witness that massacre

The location is beautiful, the staff are great, but the food is terrible compared to how we used to eat and it's a shame. You go to have fun but not to eat well!
Be the first to ReplyExperience and surprise.
We found the restaurant here on Tripadvisor, but there was scant information about the place. Nor were we able to "google" information. That's why we were very surprised when we got up in the mountain, and there was a giant tent! Delicious with sheepskin on all the chairs, the waiters ready, and a great menu, with a good variety. Maybe a bit high prices for the food, but it was lovely. Fairly stiff prices for the wine. Throughout the evening there was music and the guests were able to dance to good music. A lot of people! and real fun!
Be the first to ReplyNot special at all

Be the first to ReplyGood place for ski lunch
Went with the family for lunch and dinner. Happening place especially for lunch. Food is not bad but I have had better in Cortina. Music was good.
Be the first to ReplyA sad disappointment but thank you, your terrible way of being, opened us to other and we found better
Old man is rude, very cold and spoiled. After hearing about the place, we took a taxi, paid €40 euro to get there, not one table filled, empty, the head guy, didn't even offer us a coffee or offer to call us a cab, just 'sorry, no place all full' and I remind you no one at any table, completely empty, - thanks for being an ($&@#%) we found our home with Sig. Luca at resturant in the clouds Col Durscie 1778.

Incredible views matched only by incredible food and service. The linguini with bottarga was delicious.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolute Must in Cortina
This restaurant was by far our favorite meal in Cortina. The service, the ambiance, the food, incredible. If we had more time we probably would have returned! Order the pasta with cipolla or the truffle crusted filet - just insane. The hosts were so friendly and we finished the meal with some house made grappa that ended our night in the most perfect way!
Be the first to ReplyWonderful restaurant high above Cortina
It is a 15 mins taxi ride from centre of Cortina (climbing 350m vertical) but the food is well worth it. We were 7 and shared so much because we all thought that we’d chosen the “best dish”!! Wonderful table service and attention to detail. Helpful recommendations for food and wine. The ‘Fireplace’ was non functional which was a pity and reduced the ambience.
Top end £££ but definitely Value For Money
