El Señor Martín Madrid Reviews from The Last Year
The best grilled fish
We started the meal with some tasty and well-cooked hake cocochas. The main course was half a grilled urta, which weighed more than a kilo, with an exquisite flavor. When the fish is large enough and once the loins and tail have been served, the restaurant has the good habit of cutting it up and presenting the rest. Table service is friendly and professional.
Good fish and properly prepared but excessively expensive.
I have gone to this restaurant on different occasions. The last two in a short space of time. On both occasions I was struck by the limited variety of fish and weight of the pieces available for two or three people. You end up paying around 60 euros per person, just for the fish, I insist, exclusively for the fish dish. It's a shame for the quality of the fish but currently it's not a restaurant for those prices. I do not wish to go into other important details.
Impeccable 👌
Top restaurant for lovers of fresh, well-prepared fish. We caught a big fish. It was tender and very well seasoned. Seafood is also delicious: cockles, mussels, etc. The servers and the manager are really adorable and took great care of us. A remarkable experience!!
Expensive and supposedly frozen and farmed fish
How could a restaurant have fallen so far in quality, the first ones more or less, the second ones said it was picón from Asturias (monkfish) they brought me a little bit of pisci factiria supposedly, more frozen than a cube for two, what a shame with how good it is it used to be eaten . I won't even go near the door again.
A Squid-tastic Shelter from the Storm at El Señor Martín, Madrid
On a day when the Madrid skies decided to open up and drench the city with an impromptu shower, my companion and I found ourselves seeking refuge in the bustling embrace of Cartuchitos en San Miguel Plaza. Little did we know, we were about to stumble upon a culinary hideaway that would leave us both sheltered and enchanted: El Señor Martín stand, a beacon of bocata brilliance in the midst of the downpour. Our mission? To silence the rumblings of our stomachs with something unequivocally Spanish and unequivocally delicious. Enter stage left: 2 x Bocata Calamar Fres, a duo of calamari sandwiches that promised a culinary cuddle to our rain-dampened spirits. The setting was unassuming, a stand amidst the market's charm, yet what unfolded was nothing short of a taste bud tango. Each bite of the calamari rolls was a crunch, a zest, a splash of the sea caught in a tender, loving embrace with a perfectly toasted bun. It was as if each squid ring had been caught dreaming of becoming the star of such a dish, and El Señor Martín had simply made those dreams come true. Two dishes, two people, and a realization that no amount of rain could dampen the warmth that these culinary delights brought to our hearts. We left, not just sheltered from the storm, but recharged by the gastronomic gusto that El Señor Martín had served up. The excellence of the rolls, the symphony of flavors dancing in our mouths, left us yearning for more, our taste buds doing a standing ovation in anticipation of an encore. Reflecting now, with the memory of the rain a distant murmur and the taste of those bocata calamar still lingering like a fond dream, I can't help but salivate. El Señor Martín, with its unpretentious charm and its mastery of the sandwich craft, provided not just a meal, but an experience, a shelter in the storm that was both literal and metaphorical. For those wandering the streets of Madrid, come rain or shine, a visit to El Señor Martín stand in Cartuchitos en San Miguel Plaza is a must. It's a place where food speaks the universal language of comfort, delight, and squid-tastic joy. So, here's to the calamari rolls that stole our hearts and to El Señor Martín, the unsung hero of rainy days in Madrid.
I was a little embarrassed with my partner.
My first time was excellent in everything yesterday a disaster from start to finish. I took my partner with all the enthusiasm for Valentine's Day, the atmosphere was stunned by the voices of the staff and the kitchen, they brought the hot champagne, the borriquete only tasted like dried tomato, after the second starter they brought us dessert, THEY FORGOT TWO DISHES FROM THE MENU…. Because of the mistake, they brought us an extra portion of really delicious shrimp, but it was too late. Finally the main dish arrived, pixín, bland and half cold, anyway. I mentioned it to our waiter and he just said “you're right, I'm sorry”… incredible. I was going to take my parents, but maybe not.
Sad dinner
Extremely disappointed by this sad experience. I let myself be led to this restaurant thanks to the rather flattering reviews. the menu is astonishing there are no vegetables offered just tomatoes cut into pieces. Let's move on! the restaurant manager offers us fish, all extremely large. So impossible to take for a small disappointing table, then the dishes offered were without much inventiveness without flavors. Why I am also unhappy is the deplorable service, a waiter who gives wine advice who does not know, long service 1h45 to be served with a cut tomato and a plate of fried foods. Forced to get up several times to serve the wine yourself, A service rather eager to close the restaurant quickly, rather than serving its customers at the end of service. And of course, the crude prices applied to this quality and service go with it! Sad, because the decor is rather nice.
If you are Spanish, don't enter.
If you are Spanish, don't even enter. 1:30 p.m. and almost the entire bar is open. I was with my wife with a Spanish flag tied to our bag, and they didn't help us. Clearly we will not return.
A disappointing option
I chose this restaurant because I saw it on social networks and I didn't pay attention to the vast majority of comments there are, of which I share them. The service is slow but friendly, the manager is professional, but the menu is tight and with exorbitant prices (they will make the comment that their products come from the best markets) because I am sorry to tell you that in Madrid there are great fish temples and they do not have their prices, together with the fact that the portions are scarce and seem like a joke. Certainly a restaurant not to return or recommend.
For the true fish lover
Completely focused seafood restaurant where you order the entire fish. This restaurant is for the true seafood/fresh fish lover. We wanted to order a specific dish, but the fish was too large for the two of us. We settled on another fish that was just okay. A little disappointing. We were seated downstairs near their stunning wine cellar display and were later treated to a tasting of a 1952 vintage Sherry. Overall, an enjoyable evening.

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
