Not impressed.
Very disappointed that a restaurant claiming Michelin Star would allow not one but two dogs (not service dogs) to be in the restaurant… the first dog was a very large sheepdog that pulled away from the owner and ran through to jump on another guest. The dog then barked throughout the time and the owner actually fed her dog from the table. Very disgusting and unacceptable. As far as I know per city ordinance dogs are not allowed in a restaurant and I had seen notices posted outside a few of the restaurants here in Aspen. As for the food and service I could have dined at my own hotel restaurant and paid the same. Lunch, brunch, and dinner should all reflect Michelin Star if that is what it is known for not just dinner service.

We were celebrating my fiancés 50th birthday with family. We decided to order the Chefs Inspiration Menu. Described below : An eclectic, multi-course, en-bloc style menu inspired by our local purveyors *full table participation is required* 165 Per Person I have been to many Michelin star restaurants and this restaurant isn’t even close . The meal was straight of the menu , hors d'oeuvres were delivered awkwardly and without explanations and then the main was delivered late and like a firehose ( everything at once) . We had a very large table and they just loaded it with everything they could find in the kitchen . Hardly a “Chefs Inspiration Experience”
Be the first to ReplyFantastic experience with myself, and my two poodles
I visited Element for the first time with my two poodles, and I was greeted with warm smiles, and excellent service! Element has a dog menu!!! And it is incredibly delicious and excellent quality judging by the way my girls enjoyed their dinner. I had a lovely French rosé and a fantastic evening overall. I will be in Aspen for a month and will definitely revisit this restaurant with my girls. Quentin gave us outstanding service, I look forward to our next meal at this delightful restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyVery underwhelming dinner
Do not recommend Prixe fixe was definitely not worth $350 per person. It was barely edible go elsewhere! Service was also poor. Lag between courses was unacceptable.
Be the first to ReplyMichelin star indeed!
We just had a perfect meal! The setting is beautiful in the Little Nell - great cocktails as well. Our server La Count was exceptional- knowledgeable, friendly and so funny! The entire staff went out of their way to make sure you have a great experience. Food was outstanding and great wine selection as well. 10/10!!
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful setting, wonderful food, great service
We went to celebrate an anniversary. We were delighted with our experience here. As a vegetarian, I had choices! My husband, who is not a veggie loved the short rib and the wagu beef. We both loved our salads, Ricotta and burrata and the Stone fruit salad. Desserts were excellent. My husband loved the Somm. The dining room was beautiful, service was great (Paul was our main server) We thought it was the best meal we had in 10 days in Aspen and the most reasonable price wise, as well.
Be the first to ReplyWell … still some room of improvement
We had dinner here for the first time while staying at the hotel. Great place, beautiful patio to sit outside. Very romantic. Fantastic, almost exceptional wine list and a sommelier who knows what he is talking about. Those are the positives. The staff … offers some improvement opportunities. Of course, finding good staff in hospitality is difficult. But compared to the staff in the hotel there is a notable gap in skills, experience, professionalism and even for some a question if they actually fit in a 5 Star place like this. Food was good (Caspacho!!) but not outstanding. Almost too busy plates with too much going on. Even so that a wonderful lamp chop can get drowned in too many flavors and textures. So good food, but some room upwards.

Two friends and I had dinner at Element 47 after trying out various creative, delicious restaurants in Aspen. Our experience here fell flat. The restaurant feels like the formal dining room on a cruise ship. We all felt a little disappointed with the menu - very heavy on meat and fish - almost nothing for our vegan friend except the $42 cauliflower (which was delicious but this price is ridiculous). The biggest insult was the pea salad. Two of us got this and we all started laughing after the server left. This is the most pretentious dish I think I have ever seen. A few snap peas split open on a blob of buttermilk yogurt for $25. There are no salads or soup options on the menu and we all found it too limiting. I love a small menu but this was strange. Not to mention the restaurant was almost empty when every other restaurant in town was packed. I will say that the server and sommelier were both friendly and great.

It’s a shame that such a review needs to be written after supporting this place for decades. It’s gone completely down hill with the current management. My wife and I had always gone to the little Nell for apres ski, Ajax for lunch. Element 47 for breakfast. I was very disappointed to hear during Labor Day that they wouldn’t be serving breakfast to anyone not staying in the restaurant. Ok, I can understand that. We came back over the holidays, Called first. The girl that answered the phone said come on down. We’re serving everyone first come first serve. When we arrived, they checked a half filled room and came back with”we don’t have any tables, we said that we see plenty of tables and they said those are being held in the event a hotel hotel guest wants breakfast. They were very rude. Power hungry, and I feel misinformed. I won’t be returning. Jerome is the spot. Wonderful service, wonderful people. And honestly, the food is much better than Element 47/ Nell
Be the first to ReplyWorst Veggie Burger Ever
The veggie burger at Element 47 on the Bar menu was the worst I’ve had in my 30 years of being a vegetarian. It was so dry, card board like. No amount of condiments could help me choke it down. If any of the Chefs there think that is edible they might need to go back to culinary school for a refresher or find a new profession.
Be the first to ReplyThe most elegant dining room in town
Yes, it is expensive. But what do you expect? This is Aspen, Colorado. And this is the Little Nell, the most luxurious hotel in town. You pay for what you get, even if you don't ski and it is summertime. The Element 47 is the Little Nell's elegant dining room. Open from 7 to 10:30 and 11:30 to 10 daily, it serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in luxurious surroundings draped with original artwork. Chef Byron Evert, pastry chef Meghan McGarvey and sous chefs Robert Horch and Colin Loomis offer a Colorado contemporary cuisine that emphasizes local Wagyu beef and house-made pastas with a wine cellar filled with over 2,000 bottles. For breakfast, we had steel-cut oats with cinnamon and blueberries, banana bread, raspberry lemon muffin, Brioche French toast with peach jam, Applewood smoked bacon and sauteed spinach and two scrambled eggs with sausage and potato cake. For dinner, we started with a baby green salad with yuzu blueberry vinaigrette and fennel sausage with mushrooms, garlic and ricotta. For a main course, my wife chose sea bass with salsa and ratatouille. I opted for one of the house specialties, Nell Wagyu, with olives, beef jus, mushrooms, cauliflower and shishitos. For dessert, we shared portions of gooseberry panna cotta with thyme, honey cake and vanilla and a bowl of peaches with buttermilk and almond. This is what fine dining is supposed to be all about. And we don't drink wine.
Be the first to ReplyEXPENSIVE, AVERAGE FOOD
My wife and I ate lunch here when we took a break from watching the film festival. The food was average. The prices were excessive.

Margs, champagne, food and service were outstanding! Bread melts in your mouth…..best banana chocolate dessert ever!
Be the first to ReplyAverage and Unimpressed
The ambiance was wonderful. The bar and dining areas were separated nicely as were the private rooms so the noise levels were kept to minimum. Since this was on Christmas Eve the menu was pre-set with a choice of three selections for each of the four courses. The food was mostly well prepared, but the taste was overall disappointing. The wagyu steak was very tough and chewy and lacked the flavor we were expecting from wagyu steak. The medium-rare and rare portions both came out identically overcooked. The pasta for the perogies seemed undercooked also which was a disappointment as we love homemade pasta and good perogies. The caramel apple mouse dessert was very good. The staff was all very attentive and helpful. A nice touch at the end was an addition of miniature gingerbread for the table. Might have better luck at this establishment when the menu is not fixed.
Be the first to ReplyDinner outside at Element
The dinner was mediocre. I don’t mind paying a high price for a high quality meal but the Wagyu steak was just ok. My husband even thought his had gristle in it and when you have 2-3 strips of meat, not that much there. The potatoes served with them are good but not sure they were not just out of a freezer and just warmed up. The bread served with it is usually delicious but I actually thought it was under baked and a little doughy. And the menu is getting kind of boring. We have eaten at Element 47 several times in past visits but it just seems like the same thing. For two people the cost was close to $290. No wine just a coffee after dinner for one of us. We did have a great outdoor table but that’s a little spendy.
Be the first to ReplyVery Disappointed...
We were really looking forward to the 3 course menu here (and the pictures looked so elegant). When we walked in, the hostess immediately took us outside (she didn't ask, -- and the inside only had 2 tables occupied from what we could see) and seated us next to two adults with one young child who were soon joined by one more adult and one child and a baby who were all coming from the pool. We'd just ordered our wine (but it hadn't been brought out) when this happened, so we asked to be re-seated inside. While they did put us inside, a few minutes later I observed/heard the restaurant manager, our waitress, and the sommelier all standing together talking about our request to be moved and laughing about it. Really? You couldn't do this privately? Even this could have been overlooked if the food was better. My husband couldn't even finish his (small) Waygu tenderloin (which has NEVER happened before) and I don't think there was more than 2 tablespoon of actual Ratatouille on the dish I ordered. Sometimes an upscale restaurant tries so hard to have creative dishes that they lose the original intent of the dish -- to make it virtually unrecognizable. Regrettably, this is what I think has happened here.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food, ambiance, and service!
We had a great experience. The three course menu was delicious and the ambiance was great. However, the best of all was the fantastic service!
Be the first to ReplyFantastic meal, wines and Som.
My wife and I had the 3 course tasting menu with the wine pairings. The food was awesome, but the thought that went into the wine pairings was exceptional. Jesse L., one of the sommeliers, was amazing.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious breakfast staying at the Little Nell
We were staying at the Little Nell and breakfast was included. The menu was broad and everything we tasted was excellent. Their pastries are freshly baked every morning and there are very healthy choices for fit, active hikers, including avocado toast, fresh fruit, steel cut oats, etc.
One morning we had to eat quickly bc we were catching an 8am shuttle to the Maroon Bells and the waitstaff couldn't be more accommodating. They served us quickly and packed up the excess food for our hike.
We didn't have a chance to eat other meals here but our experience was superb!
You have to give this place 5 stars
It's not cheap but worth every cent if you want an upscale meal that is utterly delicious with an attentive staff. Not that many choices on the menu but something for everyone and it's worth it because every dish is spectacular. We loved our dining experience,
Be the first to ReplyVery good food
We ate here for lunch and breakfast and were very pleased with both. The omelette was one of the best I have ever had, and the French toast as well as the pancakes were excellent. The service was very good, and the people were friendly and efficient.
Be the first to ReplyThis was a wonderful dining experience
The food was delicious and special. Plating was beautiful. Each of my price fix choices was creative and innovative. Coming from New York, and having experienced some phenomenal restaurants in my years, this one was way up there. The surprise of finding this meal in Aspen, added to my pleasure.
This was their second evening after opening for 2021. The waitress forgot to ask for my wine selection after bringing me the wine menu. For a restaurant at this level, this was a big mistake. And the only flaw. The rest of the service was impeccable.
Breakfast with the family
We stayed at the W next door and decided to check out breakfast at Element 47 the next morning. It was absolutely fantastic! My wife said it was the best waffles she has ever had and my kids devoured the pancakes. My breakfast burrito was so beautiful I didn't want to eat it! I wish I would've tried the Wagyu beef breakfast options as I didn't know you specifically sourced it for the hotel.
