Elliott's Oyster House Seattle Reviews from The Last Year
Over priced for the food quality and service.
Plus there is a 20% surcharge added to your bill that goes directly to the restaurant. This is above any tip that you choose to reward the wait staff. Plus we asked the manager to lower the sunshade to block the afternoon sun and denied our request. I'm guessing this restaurant remains in business is only because it's in the heart of the tourist spots. I think I'd rather eat at McDonalds.
What a great spot right off the water! We ordered the crab
What a great spot right off the water! We ordered the crab chowder which was rich and delicious - almost tasted like queso and you can't go wrong. For entrees we got the crab roll which was so good and the shrimp and caprese salad which was so fresh and delicious. We also got the halibut which was so light flaky and yummy! Definitely recommend checking out when in town!
Food was amazing, excellent service.
The ambiance was perfect, had the best cheese cake.
First time in seattle and I had to try some oysters.
I tried ten of their different types and it didn't disappoint. It was super hot on the day I went but it felt like it was hot inside too. Cool outside sittings, you just sit and watch the tour boats all day. The service was awesome, we sat at the bar and our bartender/server was very knowledgeable of all the oyster questions we had and also the drinks. If I'm ever in Seattle again I will be coming here for some oysters.
This was the first restaurant we tried in Seattle after
This was the first restaurant we tried in Seattle after taking the city cruise that is literally at the adjacent pier. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and upon arrival the hostess asked us which we preferred. After spending an hour on the cruise in the sun, we decided to sit indoors. We were greeted with water and menus and the service was excellent. The crab cake was a little bit small but it was filled with sweet crab meat. Both chowders were delicious so you can't go wrong with either. In terms of entrees, i would skip the king salmon but i highly recommend getting the scallops with risotto. They had many choices for desserts but by that time we were very full so we shared the creme brulee. Highly recommend this restaurant for tourists and locals alike.

i recently dined at Elliott's Oyster House and had a wonderful experience! the service provided by Francesca was exceptional--she was attentive, friendly, and made sure our dining experience was perfect from start to finish. i'm always a little confused when ordering oysters, but i know the flavor profiles that i enjoy, so i let Francesca know what i like and let her order for me! which was the right choice because i ended up ordering more of the ones she picked for me! all the food we ordered was absolutely delicious. i did find the 20% service charge to be very confusing. as a server myself, clear communication regarding tips is very important -and the way the 20% service charge is currently explained on the menu and website is a bit unclear. it's not obvious whether guests should still tip their server on top of this charge or if it covers the gratuity. despite the confusion, my friends and i had a great time and would recommend Elliott's!
The food was fine.
The service.... Well we came in as a party of 9 including one baby, at 12:30 on a Friday. We waited at the door for 15-20 min or so. (No reservations, that's on us.) we were seated waaaay in a back room and given water and menus, and waited about thirty minutes until a staff member happened in and I let him know we were ready to order anytime. Several minutes later a very embarrassed server came back and profusely apologized, stating front staff never told him he had a table back there. He then brought the manager who also apologized and said we would be comped appetizers as an apology. The service and food were fine from that point on.
Always my "must go" when in Seattle.
The shellfish cold sampler platter - amazing. Food is always fresh and tasty.
Make a reservation.
Oysters were great. Staff was really nice. Tip is automatically put on your bill. I wasn't crazy about the clam chowder. It had other things in it. Great view! Or you can sit inside and feel like you're at a fancy place.
Seafood is so fresh in every single dish.
This place does it right and we enjoyed every part of the meal! Beautiful view
Amazing place to enjoy a family dinner
We do really enjoyed the dinner. Very fast, attentive, and quality service. Dante was superb in every aspect. Oysters should be your choice. We order 24 of them and still want some more. Then seafood pasta, traditional hut hard to make it really good, but they exceeded! Blackened ahi tuna, seared halibut were something we had in other palaces but incomparable with what we have had here. All the best quality of service and food that you can get. Highly recommended! Look for Dante!!!
Will not be back!
The Service charge that was added to the bill very inappropriate before tipping?! Very highly price! Loud! The oysters were good and the rest of the meal was average. We won’t be back!
20% Service Fee BEFORE server tipping is a TERRIBLE business model
While this is a wonderful location with good food… charging a 20% service fee that specifically states “it goes 100% to the company and not the servers” and results in the servers advising customers that they don’t receive a tip unless you leave extra $$$$ is rude and offensive to both customers and servers. This is a high volume / high $$ restaurant who’s business model has been designed to increase the companies bottom line by adding a mandatory svc charge and hoping customers feel sympathetic (which they do) to leave another 20% for the servers resulting in a ridiculously inflated bill… THAT’S JUST WRONG!!!! Please select another establishment as this behavior should not be accepted!!!
Good Food, Great Service
Visiting Seattle for a few days and wanted crab legs which were large, tender and delicious. Not a sports bar but we were able to sit at the bar and watch a playoff basketball game. The atmosphere was upbeat and lively. We paid a little more and parked conveniently across the street. We were informed there was a service fee added so it wasn’t a surprise. Would definitely go back.
Great stop touring Seattle
Great oysters! And the view is unbeatable. First time here and the waiter was in training but knew plenty to help us order their oysters and make recommendations
Food is OK, very loud, and service charge needs addressing
Food was OK, prices were high but comparable with other restaurants serving fresh fish on a pier . We booked in advance hoping for a view table but were seated in a back area and it was very loud. We had read reviews about the 20% charge that is not a tip for the server and read about it in the website, but it is still uncomfortable at the end of the meal when the server tells you he’s not getting a tip and then guests have to decide if they will give an additional 20%, no tip, or ask for the 20% to be removed. Hope the restaurant is reading the reviewer comments and can figure out a way to take care of the servers that doesn’t create a lesser experience for the guests.
Beware of the 20% Scam charge!!
The food and service was excellent. The waiter did an excellent job of curating the menu and assisting us with the food selection. He was courteous and funny. Trouble occurred when the check came with a 20% service fee that was not for the waiter. The waiter politely explained the “scan fee” -and confirmed that he did not receive any part of the service fee. That Service charge ruined the wonderful experience. The restaurant should disclose such fees upfront rather than surprising customers at the end. For a meal that included two king legs, a dozen oysters, an old fashioned, and sparkling water, totaling $330, the overall value just wasn't there.
Bad beginning
It got off to a bad start, not sure if she was a hostess or the manager she was training someone. When they went to seat us the table next to us was a couple with a baby, she had her stroller in between the table. Instead of just moving us down one table she stop there lunch and moved the stroller, I said just seat us at the next table and she said no. After things settled down our server was great and the food was wonderful, I am glad because I was ready to walk out.
20% auto charge plus tip scam
Light meal for 2 came with a hefty 20% charge on the bill described as mandatory required by city and goes to the company. Waitress said she doesn’t get it so we left another 18% tip on top feeling bad with her story. Only to find out later after reading reviewing that the automatic 20% surcharge goes to company and waitress. Why don’t they tell you first and why is it presented like a mandatory city charge? I won’t return it’s a lot of extra money but I’m mostly upset by not being told upfront about the fees
I really liked the oysters, it was the first time I have
I really liked the oysters, it was the first time I have ever had them, My boyfriend had to bribe me to try one. I actually was surprised I liked it. The spicy shrimp was also great. The waitress was fast and wonderful
Thank you so much for my sons birthday cake, it was amazing
Thank you so much for my sons birthday cake, it was amazing and tasted good to, it had the wow factor. Lots of wow at the party.

Ok so the wife and I wanted to go to a nice place for our last dinner in Seattle. We are glad we picked this place. Made reservations got seated right away our waiter. Jeremiah was amazing. He suggested a lot of good stuff the beer was good. The oysters were amazing along with spicy shrimp. Our view was so amazing we both loved this place. Stuff super friendly and fast. I highly recommend try his place hope you get Jeremiah he was awesome cheers
I ate here on a Sat after attending the theater.
I booked an early reservation at 4:30 after last year not being able to get in without one. That said the wait without was only 40 min even though they had open tables. Suspect it was a waiter issue. The hostess seemed flustered. She asked me to wait to be seated. However she kept seating people who came in after me. When asked if she had forgotten about me she said she was waiting for the waiter to check in. Maybe there was a shift change going on? It was all very confusing. I ordered an OR pinot noir for $17, a Caesar salad, and the King red crab for $135. Very pricey. I can get it in other major cities for $80-100. The food was good as well as the service. I finished with dessert of a guiness chocolate cheese cake. Felt more like a mouse. The tipping is confusing. There is an automatic 20% service charge as the waiters are paid on commission. You can leave extra but it is unclear if you need to to keep the waiter whole. $250 later even though overall a good experience, I just am not sure if I will be back.
Nice view, however, the service we've received the last 2
Nice view, however, the service we've received the last 2 visits at Elliot's were pretty disappointing. We stopped in last weekend and waited at the bar for a table to open up. He ordered an espresso martini + the bartender made myself a really great cocktail with vodka, blueberry purée and an egg. It was delicious and so was the espresso martini. I asked what kind of vodka he was using and he said Tito's which is what I was going to request. We were going to order crab cakes and another cocktail but none of the bar staff ever asked if we wanted another round or an appetizer while we waited. They also never called our name for a table so we had to go back to the hostess and get re-added to the list. The hostess said she could get us a table in 5 minutes but we ended up sitting at the bar for another 20 minutes waiting with no staff servicing us so we decided to leave. I'm glad we did because our tab was $53. The check had 2 Belvedere which definitely costs more than Tito's... it had 20% gratuity already added which I think is a little strange for a bar tab. We ended up just going to the wing spot next door to get wings and a beer because we had waited nearly 90 minutes and were starving. The time before last we also sat at the bar while waiting for a table which took a very long time as well but we waited it out and were finally seated outside. The hostess sat us at a table right next to the trash and bus cart so we asked if we could move to the table across from us. The hostess said we couldn't be seated there and that there were no other tables available but within 5-7 minutes she had sat 2 other parties in tables close to us. We waited at our table for a good 20 minutes before getting any water or service and the food was underwhelming. I understand that it's a busy waterfront restaurant but the experience overall has sucked. We thought maybe last weekend was going to be a better experience but unfortunately it was not. 2 stars for the tasty cocktails.
Went here for lunch with 3 colleagues.
It's a beautiful setting overlooking the sound. We shared some oysters - waiter's recommendation- and we each had the Dungeness crab, recommended as a local favorite. The oysters were delicious. The crab was good, except the temperature was not hot enough. We had asked our waiter for extra drawn butter and planned to tell him about the food needing to be heated, but he never returned with the butter. Since our entrees were more than $60, we felt we should have had perfection on our plates. Also, they automatically add 20% gratuity, and we never got our extra butter.
Our waiter was super friendly and went above and beyond to
Our waiter was super friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel taken care of. Thank you for a wonderful dinner with our party of 6 :) we had two toddlers and they had many options for dinner for them as well.
Delicious, fresh seafood in a high-end atmosphere.
Indoor seating as well as outdoor dock-side tables. Be prepared to splurge, however the quality is top-notch. Service has been excellent each time I have visited with my husband on 3 prior trips to Seattle. Recommend making a reservation ahead of time, there is an online reservation tool on their website. A word of caution - this restaurant adds a 20% service charge to your bill in lieu of traditional tip. According to the restaurant, tips are "not required" on top of the service charge that allows them to pay their staff a competitive wage. We chose to tip on top of the service charge, which put a bit of a strain on our dining out budget. All in all, I feel the food and experience are worth the price tag.
Waited 10+ minutes to get seated, in a half empty
Waited 10+ minutes to get seated, in a half empty restaurant . 6 staff standing around having a way better time chatting than doing their job. Server was good but so close and in my face I think she wanted to join me, despite any hint of an invitation! DON'T call me 'love' this is not a whore house! Had a prawn cocktail with bland, tasteless, pasty white prawns. This was followed by the entree King salmon; It was tragically overcooked and served with a bunch of mushy vegetables ...meh. A couple of glasses of wine, the second glass was from a bottle brought from the bar; a generous pour, thank you! Food totally a miss, restaurant full of ill behaved children, location nice some views. The server told me the 20% surcharge already added to the bill, was 'held by the house' . So now on top of overpriced bad food there is a 20% surcharge and a beg for a further additional tip??.....get a grip! Hey Joe??? Let's get going on removing those junk fees!! For certain not a repeat in my books. Hello Seattle people, please (PLEASE!!!) help me find a decent meal in Seattle / Bellevue; here often and have yet to find any thing past a 4/10
I wanted to check this place out while in Seattle as it had
I wanted to check this place out while in Seattle as it had a ton of (pretty good) reviews. It looks like a place that's been around quite a while. Rustic yet very clean. The staff was extremely pleasant, but a little slow xonsidering not a lot of customers were here at 5pm (I guess somewhat my fault because I was in a hurry). I tried several raw oysters and their apple blue cheese cooked oysters as well as their white clam chowder. Their bar looked super cool with TONS of selections (although I didn't partake this time around) I would definitely recommend checking them out.
I've only had raw oysters a small handful of times and only
I've only had raw oysters a small handful of times and only recently learned to appreciate the taste. I used to never be a fan of raw oysters, but that was before I tried good oysters. Our server was really helpful in recommending us a good selection oysters that ranged from flavor profiles to sweet and briny. It was a great learning experience and I definitely enjoyed the oysters here. Quite expensive for a dozen oysters but it was definitely worth trying if you're visiting Seattle.
Great stop for lunch and to watch the world float by
Lovely lunch at Elliott's Oyster House on Pier 55. Great oysters, fish and chips and delicious crab cakes. Enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace tables watching the world and boats go by - perfect lunchtime stop in between sightseeing.
Elliott's has always been restaurant we enjoyed for the
Elliott's has always been restaurant we enjoyed for the fantastic meals. We have always enjoyed decent service from the staff. Quick summary; good food, expensive, poor service. Long story; We went to Elliott's on Thursday evening, 2/29/24 at 7:00 PM. The dining area had many open tables near the main entry, it looked like we were going to be able to enjoy a quieter dinner than usual. No joy. We were escorted to the far side of the dining area where customers were concentrated in a condensed area. After we were seated, our server didn't appear for over 10 minutes. We saw him close by attending to others with no sense of urgency. He walked slow with a slight limp. He passed by our table two times without greeting us.He was not that busy, there were only 5 tables with small groups. Most were already eating their food. Once he arrived, he was polite and helpful with food and drink recommendations. He served us drinks and took our food order. We flagged him down about 10 minutes later to ask for bread. We eventually received our food, which was tasty as usual. We didn't see our server again! It took us about 35 minutes to eat. We didn't get a 2nd round drinks and no dessert. Feeling frustrated, we decided to leave. We went up to the check-in desk and asked for our bill. My wife mentioned the poor service to the woman, she was apologetic. Our server then appeared from the opposite side of the dining area we just vacated, and gave us our bill. The restaurant was not busy, there was no apparent justifiable reason for the disappearing act. We paid the $200+ bill. After paying, I asked the woman to make change for me for a one-hundred dollar bill. She removed the fat blue bank bag from her till and appeared to be ready to accommodate me. She then asked why I wanted change. When I didn't answer correctly (that it was for a tip), she gave me the retaliatory "no", she could not make change for me. It was clear to me, she could have easily pulled some twenties and tens from her robust bank bag. How dare we tell her the service was poor! Elliott's has a mandatory 20% taxable service charge. The charge is used, in part, to pay staff a commission. This likely leads to reduced tips for servers, which diminishes the incentive for staff to go above and beyond to earn a decent tip. This experience may be an outlier, I'm inclined to try them again when we return to Seattle. But screw me twice- shame on me and I'll go elsewhere.
Definitely worth the money spent.
Came with a ground of friends and we all had very delicious meals. Our waiter was very attentive and provided great recommendations. The restaurant itself is right off the pier and honestly quite beautiful inside. Definitely recommend the oysters and crab legs. You get a fun little hand wash after the crab legs. overall great experience. Great food. Great drinks. Great staff.
20% service charge ruined our experience. Too overpriced.
This place has been distributed by the super icky and beggy 20% service charge. I am local and come here often. The 20% service charge that does not go to the server is gross. Then the server begs you for more $$ after. It went from high end to yuck over this. No respectable place would ruin someone's experience with this. We asked to have it taken off and they did, but it was uncomfortable and we had to wait a long time. Our service was the worst part of the experience and we had to sit at the bar. The servers kept smashing my chair and I could hear the gossip of restaurant the entire time. So don't go throwing a useless charge on my bill after and make it more uncomfortable. The clam chowder was good. But the rest was just meh and over priced. The manager made a point to say " we will still take care of our staff even though you didn't pay full bill". Rude. Won't be back til this is removed.
Good food. Didn’t expect getting hit up for extra tips after 20% service charge
Came to Seattle as a visitor with friends. Thought we were going to have a great meal. Ordered king crab legs and shellfish jubilee. Both were delicious along with a variety of other dishes. Total bill came to almost $400. Then they added a $20% service charge. Figured that’s their version of tipping. We usually tip that so wasn’t a huge deal … BUT then the waiter gives us a big sob story about how he doesn’t get paid enough and he wants an additional tip… really. It was very uncomfortable. We were enjoying our dinner with friends. Didn’t feel like being hit up like that. Just my thoughts
Never Again Unless I Win Some Money
Way overpriced for what you get. Food was good but for what they charge is outrageous. Two people over $100 is too much even for what we got and the quality.
Tourist trap!
My daughter wanted crab so we tried out this place as it was one of the few restaurants that was open on a Sunday. We ordered the dungeness crab as we were told they were fresh and not frozen. The crab was definitely frozen as some parts of the legs were still cold. Also from the texture, we could tell it was previously frozen and not fresh. For an almost $60 plate of one dungeness crab, it did not even come with any condiments such as butter. When we asked for butter, they gave it to us in a plastic small container and was not even clarified butter. The caesar salad was way too salty and the seafood pasta was not seasoned and bland. As the other reviewers mentioned they automatically charged 20% service charge on the bill and expected us to pay another 20% for the server. We asked to have the 20% service charge taken off our bill and paid the tip as normal. If we had not, our $180 meal would have cost us $280. This was our worst meal in Seattle.
What a disappointment
What a disappointment; I read other reviews and thought this would be the place to go for crab in Seattle. We paid $115 a plate for crab. The crabs were “scored” but not shelled. I left with bloody hands from the spines. For $115 a plate, those crab legs should be shelled for you. No clarified butter, just melted. Not a place for foodies, but a tourist trap. Finally, the server told us that the 20% gratuity didn’t go to him! He wanted us to pay another 20% for his tip on top of the house “service charge.” What a rip off! And honestly, the food wasn’t really particularly good.
BEST MUSSELS I´VE EVER HAD (ask for the smoked ones)
My wife and I ordered the Jubilee Platter which comes with King crab claws, bairdi crab, prawns, sea scallops and mussels, and I can confidently say, those are the best mussels I´ve eaten in my life, PERIOD! The prawns were Huge! We also had the Tequila Lime Mussels as an appetizer and they were perfect! 10/10

Seattle's Best Restaurants that are most frequently booked by customers of Elliott's Oyster House Seattle
Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
