Enoteca Pinchiorri Firenze Reviews from The Last Year
Perfection.
This restaurant is a must visit when in Florence. The service, the food, the atmosphere - everything was perfect. We booked many months in advance to secure a table for dinner and it was worth it. We were welcomed to the restaurant by very elegant gentlemen and shown gorgeous table where a charming sommelier brought us the wine bible. It was truly amazing. Each staff member who presented a course did it with clarity and precision. Every mouthful was divine. All the little additions in between, also perfect. They deserve their three Michelin stars and a round of applause. Could not have had a better experience. Thank you!!
Ever have that fear that you might choose one of these
Ever have that fear that you might choose one of these highly rated restaurants and it might be a flop? That fear of spending $600+ a person only to be disappointed. Well, this is one of those places.. my first time here it was great, the second time.... horrible!!! food over cooked and when I pointed out to the owner the dried out, burnt rabbit... she laughed and said they weren't serving rabbit that night..... thank god the waiter was there to confirm the fact that they were. I won't waste anymore time with this review..... just be warned...
I walked into this meal with an open mind after reading
I walked into this meal with an open mind after reading various mixed reviews, and feel compelled to write my own. For context, I've travelled globally for work for the last 30 years and like to think I have a balanced perspective of what is good and what is a value, premium or a luxury offering. So let's break it down Atmosphere - sterile and boring. Lighting it far too bright and chatter or opportunity to interact with other diners is very subdued. On a side note a we had a couple sitting next to us who were on 1st name basis with management. The wife chose to answer her loud ringing phone during dinner and engage in a loud conversation. I call this out as clearly the restaurant either has mixed standards for fine dining or money is a motivating factor. Service - I'd rate it as on par with a 2-3 star restaurant, this was the highlight. Food - this is where everything falls down. We selected the tasting menu and there was a single dish that we thought excellent, everything else was blah. Every dish lacked texture, making us wonder if the food was prepared for babies. I'd rate many Non Michelin and 1-2 star restaurants well above Enoteca for excellent/inspired food. How this place achieves 3 stars is beyond me. During our trip we experienced two examples that I'd rate well above. Wine Pairing - maybe there was a language barrier, we felt it lacked inspiration and no attempt was made to explain why they matched certain wines. On the plus side, they don't charge by the glass but instead by the number wines you select, and they proactively refill your glass. This element is pretty good value. Cost - we did not experience the upsell pressure others speak off, but for what we enjoyed...yeah I agree there is little justification for the price At the end of the day, I'd encourage readers of this review to skip and explore many other options for a great meal and experience.
Fine. But not fine.
Lots of nice food. But not spectacular. There are many wonderful restaurants in this city. I don’t understand why this one got 3 stars.
Must avoid!!!!!
This has got to be one of the worst dining experiences I ever had. Complete disaster and train wreck of a restaurant. Came to celebrate just getting engaged and thought wow what a perfect ending to getting engaged than by visiting a 3 michelin star restaurant in Florence. Everything should be perfect right? The food was terrible. After the second dish I was like how does this place have even 1 star. Every dish had something majorly wrong with it. Either too salty too acidic too sweet. And presentation was literally like they just threw it together and sent it out. By the time dessert was coming around I pushed my plate away disgusted and wanted the check to leave. Shofking the service even though there was plenty of staff was lacking. I had to ask a few times for water refills. Napkins not folded. Just small details that shouldbt have been missed but were! This restaurant is used to disappointed guests tbh! Every single table I saw left with the same disappointed face as ours. Truly they ruined what was supposed to be one of the best nights of my life! No one even said congratulations. After contacting I have not even heard an apology from them! Such a disgrace of a restaurant! Definitely must avoid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The most amazing dining experience of my life.
The food, the service, the everything!
Almost left out of here in tears with how bad the evening
Almost left out of here in tears with how bad the evening was. It was supposed to be for a special occasion considering the expense. I was shocked after the first course this was 3 michelin stars! Food presentation was basic at best! The food; everything had major issues like too salty/ sweet/ acidic! Service should be near perfect and this was decent! I feel like when you leave a 3 star restaurant you should be absolutely blown away by everything. By the end of it i was pushing away dishes because of how gross the food was. I even refused the trolly of chocolates since I was so frustrated. I think the most disappointing was the fact that no one seemed to care. This place is an absolute disgrace! They seem like the type of place that would brush off the reviews because they think we dont get their food and no its because theres no talent! Theres a difference!
This place is purely insulting.
I'll concede that the Prosecco (25 addition) was playful and a nice start. It's all a train wreck from there. Let's start with the water list they provide like it's a service. The Panna Aqua (15, retail 1), which we ordered three of to stave off the salty/uninspired food, was hidden away and we had to ask for refills several times. Amazing service! Then there is the gimmick of a 'wine pairing'. This place boasts about its wine cellar but can't be bothered to pair wines to its tasting menus. Instead you get to 'choose your own adventure', which is really just a thinly disguised scam. We chose the upgraded Italian treasures (375pp for 3 wines that they clearly recycle to the entire room). They said "they choose the wines to fit your meal perfectly". Really? This joke of a restaurant thinks the wines pair perfectly with both the vegetarian and regular tasting menu. Insulting. They'll continue to try to upsell every dish like a tacky stall vendor. The food was not good. Everything tasted the same. No range, no creativity, no wine, no water for you!! Three Michelin stars is a pure hoax. I would have paid more (900pp) to have saved myself the sour experienced. Good riddance.

What an amazing experience! The sure elegant of the restaurant makes it a must go! The staff are one of the best I've ever experienced!
One of our favorite restaurants in the world.
We recommend this place to anyone traveling to Florence and even would say to add Florence to your travel plans if you can get a reservation!

For some it is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and for others it was a treat. But for us it was perfection. Antonia knew the wines, and Juilio knew the menu and the service and together we had a night we would not forget. We did the tasting menu to experience Tuscany and its history with a blend of Asian influence. But the night was fully satisfying. I must say, to highlight the night and the service, Julio was fantastic. And from the stories of the people that worked there it could not be ignored that Mr. and Mrs. Pinchiorri were with us the whole night. Through their dedication and love of wine and food, the service was able to give us everything we wanted, and more. I want to give Julio a special thank you for bringing a fine dining experience to the table that involved attention and detail but also a human experience that with just food could get lost in the hard to pronounce/explain food and wine. But most importantly we learned from the staff that greatness comes from the ups and downs. Our life today fails to recognize the importance of hardship and hard days or hard discipline, but it is in the critical moments or work and life that we are able to be our best selves and enjoy the balance of life. To alllll the staff and to the dedicated owners of Enoteca Pinchiorri, Grazie Mille. And to Julio, may you never forget, NYC is great, but Boston is better and you will always be welcome if you wish to visit. Please reach out. Arrivederci and good luck.

Dress appropriately or you may have issues: you can read the website, but my take is sportcoat appreciated, long-sleeve (ideally with collar) shirt required. Service-wise we had a great experience, none of the issues that some have reported here. Ambiance-wise, it was great; what you'd expect at a three-star (i.e., lots of room and lots of staff). Food-wise, we particularly appreciated being able to order a la carte or the tasting menu, which is increasingly rare at two- and three-star restaurants. Food-wise we enjoyed: the mountain egg, the amberjack, the angolotti, the suckling pig, the pigeon/squab, the veal chop, the cheese cart, and we were so full we skipped any dessert. The amuses bouches and such were awesome as well. The wine list is insane. The water list was a first in my experience. We had a quick wine cave tour at the end conducted by the aimiable sommelier (Antonio) and it was great. Finally, it's not cheap, if you do a 50/50 spend ratio on wine/food you can quickly end up in the $750 range per person.
First of all, make sure your man wear long sleeve shirt or
First of all, make sure your man wear long sleeve shirt or a jacket. I forgot about this rule and we almost got rejected at the door. The door man is a bit rude in my opinion because he basically said we can't eat here but eventually he offered us a suit jacket to wear. I just don't understand if there is a workaround why he would be so hard on us. Then the food. You can choose 290 tasting menu or individual course. The total price of appetizer and the primi and secondi (if you order all three) add up to 290 euro as well. So we decide on three courses because the tasting menu doesn't look as appealing as the individual course. Overall the food is amazing, except the veal which I personally thought is too rich and too big of portion for such rich flavor. Our favorites are the egg, agnolotti, ravioli, piglet and Soufflé. All of them have surprises in the texture of the ingredients or the balancing of the taste. Now I have to talk about the wine. They have a book of their wine list. Yes, a dictionary looking book. Until we noticed there is literally no bottle of reds under 250 or over 200 per person for wine tasting of two glasses, I started to realize we were actually eating in a three star restaurant. We end up ordering a 450 bottle and it is an amazing wine. It's just not our expectation to have wine price over the food. The restaurant makes the whole dining experience extraordinary. Wine, food, menu, plate, water all have their own dedicated waiter.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
