I know I had a stop in here a few years ago but wanted to explore more of the menu to get a better idea of my rating. This place feels very hit/miss for me. Some things to note:1. This space is very intimate and can get a little claustrophobic. It didn't bother me that much but my friend was trapped in between a seat and a table when sitting at the bar and they had a hard time with this. 2. The music can be pretty loud. It was a really fun atmosphere and vibe, but I wouldn't recommend coming here to try and have a serious or intimate conversation. There were definitely times when I couldn't hear the person sitting next to me. Ok, on to the important part- the food: We ordered: - Cheese plate: We opted for 2 kinds of cheese, one was good, and the other I wasn't a huge fan of. It annoys me when places just drop raw walnuts on plates that have no added value. They also added grapes, a few slices of apple and basic french bread that didn't feel fresh. - Escargot: This tasted more rubbery than I've had before. It needed more garlic and butter. It wasn't my favorite Escargot experience. I prefer Balthazar. - Black Truffle Ravioli: This was the best dish we had. I loved the mini ravioli. They were drowning in the bechamel sauce, which I wasn't upset about. I loved the amount of truffle in this dish. If you come here, this was one of the better options. - Duck Confit Parmentier: This dish was also one of the better options. The duck was a little oily and this is definitely a heavier dish but it was a good balance of meat vs potatoes. - Beef Sliders: These were ok, pretty dry even with the mustard. I don't believe I even finished my slider. Overall, it seems like this restaurant relies on a lot of truffle to provide flavor. I wasn't very impressed. If you want to come for drinks or partake in their HH deal, you'll be fine but I'd maybe skip on coming here for a whole meal. 3.5/5

I love a good ambiance and I love a good cutesy bar but the prices here are not worth it. The food was great but nothing that you can't find elsewhere. Granted the brussel sprouts were top notch but probably won't come back just for them. Service was amazing though, great cocktail recommendations, but if you're looking for a nice place to have a meal with drinks, I would skip this place.
Be the first to ReplyDrinks were really good and our service was good.
Definitely not a place to eat. Food was good but it will not fill you up. Had to go to wing stop down the street after.

The cuisine was exceptional and greatly impressed us, however, we did encounter a bit of disappointment with the service as some of the staff seemed to have a less than amicable demeanor. Other then that if you want to try new dishes, we recommend to try out their frog legs. Made with Provenรงal garlic butter, it was tender and delicate with a mild, and slightly sweet flavor. The garlic butter adds richness and depth, along with a subtle hint of garlic and herbs, enhancing the overall taste experience. Whenever we go to a french restaurant we love ordering the Escargot. It's savory and buttery. The flavor of the snail complements the strong garlic and fresh parsley that it is bathed in. They give you bread to soak up rich garlic and butter sauce. We also ordered the Yellowfin Tuna Tartare. It was a light and flavorful dish, and you get that natural flavor of the fish. Silky and tender goodness, with a subtle crunch from the sesame.

For another bar on a night out, we checked out this French place that is located downstairs of the street level, giving a little bit of a speakeasy vibe. My friend that went here before only did outdoor seating, so he was impressed by the somewhat antique, royalty-like decor around the indoor area. We sat at the bar as we ordered just drinks, and we didn't need to wait when we arrived around 10:30pm (though they have reservations on Resy, which is probably the move if we were to go at a busier dinner hour). We shared the L'Antonieta (which was available according to Instagram, but I didn't see it on the menu unless I was already pretty buzzed and didn't notice) and the Smoky Black Banana, both of which are very pretty in its own style - the L'Antonieta has a more colorful look with a purple lotus root as garnish, while the Smoky Black Banana has a more mature presentation with a salt rim and is quite strong. While the drinks are very pretty, the cocktail mixture wasn't necessarily too ideal - the L'Antonieta had a bit too much sugar so it didn't sit too well in my mouth, but otherwise, I overall enjoyed the drinks the bartender created here.

Small bar with tables very close to each other, average food for its price. It was just okay I wouldn't be back for the food but we had a lovely waiter who was friendly and we had a good time overall! It was dimly lit and really set the vibes

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the cocktails were amazing!!!!! The staff were welcoming if not to intimate with their conversation, we came in and the place was empty but filling up and we could hear all the ins and outs of the personal life etc which we did not mind but if my mother was with me it would of been a tad off. The food was excellent and I liked being able to see into the kitchen and the cocktails were excellent and creative actually bubbling! The atmosphere is what you would expect from a French bistro nook place in NYC classic thank you

Despite this is a tapas place, I fel that the portions were a bit small for the price but good quality of food and drinks. The restaurant is dark or "romantic" but very small, you may hit some taples trying to reach yours. Definetely make a reservation.I tried the RATATOUILLE PROVENรAL (slow-cooked vegetables, ESCARGOT PERSILLADE (pesto SNAILS), and GRILLED OCTOPUS and to drink, the SANCERRE white wine was a good option . Honestly, the ratatouille was the best of the three dishes. I was a bit dissapointed with the octopus, a bit dry and really small portion. For dessert, the CREPES WITH BITTER ORANGE MARMALADE were much special.ESPAร

Excuse My French is the NYC restaurant you bring your out of town friends to that will seem so "NY". Loved the smaller size, the added touches in decorations, the intimacy, the style of set up with lots of high tables (I do not think there were any standard size chairs). The food was solid. We did not get their top 2 - frog legs and escargot - but we tried the croque monsieur and the foie gras. Both were good. A little on the pricey side, but for a special night, it is worth it. The drinks were amazing - order one of their "bubbling" drinks - you will be entertained for the entire time it is gurgling while you attempt to drink it.

Was craving French food so we went to Excuse My French, and ordered their escargot, frog legs and and duck confit parmentier, unfortunately their octopus was also ready sold out by 7pm. The duck confit parmentier just tasted like dry mashed potatoes. Their cocktails were not impressive either. With so many restaurants in NYC, I would recommend you go somewhere else

All the dishes were packed with flavor! From appetizer (simple yet juicy olives, cheese) to main courses all were delicious. Definitely worth breaking my usual vegan diet for. They also have a few good vegan/vegetarian options for main courses. The ratatouille was especially flavorful. Also as someone who does not like alcohol, I certainly enjoy the couple of drinks I've tried here in the two times I've been. Service is always friendly, fast and also impressive (because the guy just memorized all the orders without writing it down!). Loved that the kitchen is integrated in the restaurant, making it feel cozy and more transparent.

Was looking forward to this as we traveled across the country to visit NYC and it was a recommendation from a great friend who's a regular at this place. Worst service I've ever experienced and very disrespectful host.

The tapas were amazing! Even though I absolutely love foie gras (I know...I'm sorry...), I think my favorite dish this time is the grilled octopus because the texture and chewyness were too good! Scallops were super yummy too! Great vibes as well - love the decor!
Be the first to ReplyGreat tapas.
We had the tacos, beet salad, cheese with fig jam, ย and good drinks. My dining partners had 2 espresso martinis and I had an old fashioned. Our other dining partner had a concoction with coconut on the rim that was tasty. If you don't want to have a lot of people in the restaurant when you're eating ...go early. ย The bar looked extensive with a good selection. The tapas were filling enough for us and made a nice meal.

Excellent food and atmosphere and the chef is kind and makes great food. The tartare was great even tho it didn't taste super fresh, scallops were cooked to perfection, foie gras IS A MUST TRY ITS SO GOOD. We also loved our escargot and duck confit dish. We ordered a whole bottle of wine and had an excellent crepe for dessert which came out literally on fire, such a fun and great display. Our server was kind and funny too. We would definitely return :)

Fast, friendly and knowledgeable service. Great atmosphere: with beautiful interior, matching music, and French artists in the walls. A long selection of cocktails including those with seasonal ingredients. And most importantly the food is fantastic. The escargot were rich bitterly and garlicky, the shrimp sauce was unique and perfect and the frog legs were the best I ever had!

I guess the food matched the price point, nothing was exceptional but nothing was bad either. Foie gras lollipops were not worth it imo, but the croque monsieur was quite good and a decent portion size! Cute decor, very French ambience. Oh and the napkins are really pretty

I loved this place! The small plates were perfect size, everything we ordered was delicious.. what especially stood out was the escargot. They play euro deep house here and the martinis are great. ย It's a little small hole in the wall but would recommend to visitors!
Be the first to ReplyFriendly and stylish staff with very quick food service.
The portions are pretty big for tapas and we especially liked the brussels sprout with lamb sausage and the scallops. The drinks were on the slower side. We ordered everything at the same time and got almost all of our food before the drinks. The layout was a bit cramped but we didn't mind it too much. It looks like it was all bar level seating with about half the spots at the bar which is half for drinks, half kitchen and you can watch them at work. The cook was dancing and chatting with us for a bit. Lushly decorated and overall very nice environment.

Brought one of my West Coast friends since teenagers here when she wanted French Cuisine. ย Great Negroni's and appetizers. ย I hat the fig & goat cheese that was quite tasty. ย The manager Ricardo came over to ask how our meal was and kept us company while our entree's were brought to our table. ย ย Great meals, great service in a charming environment. ย Congrats to Ricardo and his staff for surviving during these tough times. ย We will be back!
