This restaurant has a nice environment, great views, and good food
Farenheight is a rooftop restaurant in uptown charlotte. Finding parking for this restaurant is difficult, but I would recommend the paid parking lot across from the main entrance of the Hyatt. To get to the restaurant you go through the hotel and take a elavator to the top floor. I would recommend arriving 5 to 10 minutes early for parking and getting to the restaurant. The environment is dark and ultramodern and there are no walls just windows with breathtaking views. There is also a full bar. I had the wagyu short rib bao buns and they were amazing. They also have daily dessert specials.
Be the first to ReplyGo for a cocktail and the fantastic patio view. Then LEAVE
Although there is a lot of unfavorable reviews for this restaurant, I used the Queen City Feast specials to check it out. 1. View: excellent and probably best in the city. 2. Decor: OK but not great. The view out the windows makes it up. Very noisy as there is lots of hard surfaces (windows, wood ceiling, etc). DB scale average of 81. 3. Seating: originally was assigned to a table that looks into the kitchen....yikes. Waited for a window table as that is what you are presumable there for. Note: table was 3 inches too high for the chairs, so you are eating at chest level. 4. Food: appetizer, entree, and deserts were very good to excellent from all four of us. 5. Wait Staff: needs major improvement (especially for the price of meals and drinks). In general, not very attentive to providing excellent service. Waiter takes your order and checks in from time to time so not bad. Delivery of food is by kitchen "servers" and not supervised by the waiter. So guess what? Servers were clueless. Appetizer course - one was incorrect and the strange question: "which of you gets this?" Main course: servers went to another table and started to pass things out. Suddenly realized that it was the wrong table so collected the items and came over to us. Again the same question: "which of you ordered this?" Dessert course: correct items delivered (with the same question) but no silverware!! Waved the waiter over and he produced 4 forks about 10 minutes later. 6. Check out time: waiter came with our separate (2 couples) bills. Each couple provided CC. Waiter returned and gave folder with CC to wrong couple. BTW, they automatically add 20% service charge to your tab and then allow you to add another 2 - 7% extra in appreciation of your great service. Recommendation: although food is good, you might want to just go up to the 21st floor, grab a drink at the bar and enjoy the outside patio. (Drinks are $20+ so depending on your wallet you might want to sip slowly). Then ride the elevator back down and go to another restaurant. There are numerous great takes in Charlotte with better food and GREAT SERVICE.
Be the first to ReplyWorst (although we had great expectations)
Thought it would be great, but after we sat at the bar, they didnโt have the wine we ordered and once we ordered a second choice, we wound up walking after 20 minutes of no one paying attention or serving us. We will never be back.
Be the first to ReplyDid not enjoy as much as we should have
The menu is lovely, however totally inconsistent. We ordered the 'Waygu' beef appetizer (in which I understand the cost of Waygu) but this was tiny & thinner than a piece of paper, big waste of money & the tuna nachos were humongous in which the server could have mentioned as we really over ordered and wasted a bunch of food. Following our no-personality server, the rest of the service was awful! Absolutely no attention to detail as the food came out and they threw plates in front of us without even knowing or asking who ordered what, it's a pet peeve as that is part of their job to give the right dish to the right person, it's not that hard to be organized. I am glad I tried this restaurant as I can see it's a hot spot, however I would not go back.
Be the first to ReplySpectacular views but dining experience is overpriced
The views are spectacular. Period. We shared a few appetizers. Tempura shrimp was underwhelming. We couldn't find the "tempura". Just fried shrimp on a bed of lettuce. We enjoyed the nachos with tuna and also the cauliflower. For main course, I had the short ribs, which I enjoyed. Other three members of our party had the branzino, which was OK; mahi mahi, which she liked and another short ribs entree. We had a significant (too long) wait between appetizers and main courses. Approximately 45 min. Strangely, complimentary bread was brought to the table between appetizers and main courses. We could see the kitchen and wait staff through the windows. I noticed one waiter going through his hair with his hands on several occasions while waiting for next order to bring out. Not sure if that is very sanitary..... All in all, the food was OK but significantly overpriced. The dining room is very noisy, even when not all tables were occupied. We could not have a conversation where all four diners could understand each other. I would definitely go back but not for dining. My recommendation: order a drink at the bar and enjoy the views on their patio area.
Be the first to ReplySecond and last time.
The butter and the night view are what you pay for. Group of 18. The waitress kept reminded us that was going to take our orders. We had a preset menu for the group to expedite the meal. Over an hour to get a salad and 2 hours wait to get the main meal. The plan is to sell overpriced watered down drinks. $20 but add taxes and "service fees" $35. Thats not including tip. The bar area was busy. The food was edible. Sirloin we chose were all cooked the same. No option. No steak knives at the tables. The sides were cold to luke warm. Mashed potatoes were dry with a large cold pat of butter, no salt or pepper at the tables. The best food was the pita bread and the butter. We asked to pull the shade before sunset and the waiter pushed the sunset, while half the restaurant was blinded by the direct sunlight. 7pm enter, left close to 11 pm. The worst part was the waitress combined the entire ticket. She never asked how ring the ticket. There was an hour of waiting for her and two other waitresses to sort out the ticket and settle the bills. They kept coming back to the table give the remaining balance instead of getting all the bills at once. Absolutely ridiculous. That was my second and last time going. I'm not sure what happened from 3 years ago but this place needs some changes. There is no need to complain to the staff anymore. Then again I'll copy and paste this to a few other sites and the manager. Maybe someone else will get the service from a few years ago.
Be the first to ReplyGreat view and good food!
This is a beautiful location overlooking the Charlotte skyline. We were from out of town and had wanted to eat outside but dinner seating wasn't available. Ryan, one of the managers, kindly relocated us to a table in the cocktail area that was perfect for our special evening. We had the filet and the lamb chops - both were great choices. Our waiter was very personable as well. After dinner we went out onto the outdoor terrace for photos, etc. Would definitely recommend.
Be the first to ReplySpectacular Views, Service and Food at Fahrenheit
First of the views are exceptional but the food and beverage choices are also spectacular. I am not crazy about you get to the restaurant (through a hotel elevator to a small room) but everything else is top shelf. If you have not been to Charlotte this would be one of the restaurants I would highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a good time!
Great rooftop restaurant! Sat outside, looking over a fantastic view of downtown Charlotte! Service was great, food was even better! An unexpected surprise! Iโll be back!!
Be the first to ReplyDisappointed!!
Prices have absolutely doubled on just about everything since last visit!!! Apps are limited and zero flexibility with side substitutions. Really disappointed that no proteins or seafood can be added to salad -instead they suggested ordering the $46 chicken breast entree and adding it to salad!!). Pizzas are not able to be made as โmachine has been down for a week!โ Caesar salad was excellent as were cauliflower salad and wagyu beef sliders. Views are really nice of the city but hardly worth the price of admission!!
Be the first to ReplyEasily the most overrated place in Charlotte .
This place is good for a few drinks at the bar to enjoy the view and thatโs about it. I was expecting Capital Grill or Del Friscos quality since their menu pricing is essentially the same . That was a poor assumption on my part so fair warning. Donโt order food here.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Meal, Excellent Service
This was an excellent meal. The server was very kind and very attentive. She suggested, and we had the Tomahawk Steak which was offered as a special. It was cooked to perfection. Grilled vegetables were awesome, wished the portion on the vegetables was larger.
Be the first to ReplyJust ok.
You are paying a premium for the view, the food was not worth the price. Nice ambiance, great cocktail selection. Not everyone adhered to the dress code and they didnโt seem to turn people away, which was unfortunate for those expecting a fancier atmosphere.
Be the first to ReplyDecent food, great views and atmosphere, but poor service
The food selection was good but not great. Surprised to not find any chicken entrees but still good options. The service was awful and had to flag down for any attention. Great outside area to walk out and gain some excellent views but not worth the cost.
Be the first to ReplyNice view but drink prices are ridiculous
Well, it was worth the visit due to the view. However, while waiting for our table we each had a cosmo-$50 including tip! Was a real turnoff! Donโt mind paying top dollar for terrific food but that was unreasonable for a cocktail. The Cosmo was not even that good. Food was very good but not excellent. Menu was limited for this level of Dining. Would not go back but glad I went to experience it.
Be the first to ReplyRehearsal Dinner
Excellent service, nice venue and very good food. When we got there it was raining, but later, when the rain stopped, we went outside. A very enjoyable evening.
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointed
The service was horrific. We had to ask several times to take away the dirty plates. The wine was served when we had nearly finished our dinner. And they made a mistake with the check. The room was very noisy and dark. The food was a kind of American/Japanese. And the prices are very high.
The only thing Iโve is the terrace with the view. But they donโt serve on the terrace.
Good Food, Bad Service
I took my girlfriend here for her Birthday Dinner. We were super excited and looking forward to the "High end" service and food.
We ordered the Oysters and salmon and both were fantastic. The food and the view were top-notch.
However, it was overshadowed by poor service. Our server was disrespectful most of the night. Barely checked in on us and seemingly pressured us to rush through our meal. At one point he actually tapped his watch while looking at me as if to say "hurry up and order so you can leave" And towards the end of the meal he actually thanked me when I mentioned we would take the check before even looking at a dessert menu.
I didn't just spend $200 to get rushed through my meal on a very special occasion. I will take this into consideration next time.
Xcellent Atmosphere, Views and Dinning......Absolutely Amazing!!!
It was July 2020 and the experience was super fantastic in every way possible.......Service, Food and Atmosphere was tremendous and I will be here very very soon!
Be the first to Replygreat food, but noisy on a Saturday
We were in Charlotte for a spontaneous weekend getaway, and the idea of a fancy dinner with a sunset and city lights view was very appealing. We got reservations for 7 pm on a Saturday evening which was the only open time available when I booked. We parked at a nearby public lot, but it only allowed us to pay for parking in 12-hr increments which was more than $25. When we arrived, the place was somewhat over-run with a fraternity party, and the bar is right next to the entrance pumping loud music. The party-goers mostly occupied the patio outside and weren't rowdy - just a lot of extra people. The first table we were taken to is completely blocked from the view by a column, but when I pointed out that the view was why I chose the restaurant, they very politely asked us to wait a few minutes and found us another one that was better situated (be sure to tell them if you care about this in advance). We both had steaks, and they were delicious; the staff were friendly. My only complaint is that they have crammed sooo very many tables in such a small space with a low ceiling that the sound is concentrated making it very hard to have a conversation. Not exactly romantic, and we didn't linger. If we go again (and it's $$$), I'd pick a non-weekend night or an off-time.
Be the first to Replyfantastic dinner
the service was really fantastic thanks Nathan also the recommendation you gave about the cowboy ribeye it was delicious
Be the first to ReplyAmazing evening
My Mum was visiting me from Bowie Maryland so my friend and i took her to dinner at Farenheit 2/18/22. As usual the views of the city was amazing and the warmth of the outdoor fireplace allowed us to stay outside longer to enjoy the stunning views. Most of all the food was just fabulous....every bite of it. Our waiter Mathew enhanced our experience with his attentiveness and charming personality. It has been a while since we had such a memorable waiter. Mercury also checked in on us many times during our dinner and she was so delightful. Looking forward to our next visit there.
Be the first to ReplyTrying Hard, Failing Hard
Their considerable efforts to appear swanky do not make up for the failure of this restaurant on every measure of quality. In reality the food and service are more Walmart than Waldorf. Here are some of the highlights:
- They have the nerve to serve a โcreme bruleeโ which bears little relation to the intended dish. No element of it was *actually* brรปlรฉe, a deficiency that was entirely unmitigated by the generic creamy substance piled beneath a pair of ageing blackberries by way of apology.
- In a city known for its excellent beers, the bar seems to have chosen the few which are completely without merit to serve on draught. The vibrant craft beer scene of Charlotte remains, like the views from their balcony, quite distant from this bar.
- The air conditioning is set to Arctic presumably in an attempt to encourage their scantily-clad punters to dress more appropriately.
- For reasons that are entirely mysterious, they have set up no fewer than *seven* WiFi networks, *none of which* are apparently available to the customers.
- The unsophisticated ethos of this establishment is perfectly summed up by the fact that they provide a soup spoon to eat dessert.
In sum, the exorbitant prices are entirely undermined by the poor quality of food, drink and service.
Dining out with friends
I was very disappointed just coming back from Las Vegas and having frequented several upscale restaurants to celebrate my Birthday the service here at Fahrenheit was not good. Food was very salty I ordered lobster rice there were maybe was 3 tiny pieces of lobster in rice. The surf and turf was not hot, ribeye was dry and tough to eat lobster not hot Iโm definitely a connoisseur of good quality tasting food this was not up to par. I will not be returning oh it was freezing in restaurant, we were moved to the other side and still froze bad experience!!!!
