Lao Table!!!! Our experience today at Farmhouse Kitchen, Jack London Square, Oakland. Wow!!! Delicious food, lavishly decorated walls and even the warm smiles of the staff. This is a must-visit Thai restaurant when you come to Jack London Square, Oakland

While slightly more expensive than typical Thai cuisine, this restaurant uses premium ingredients to put creative twists on traditional dishes. The beef rib and wagyu noodles are tasty, but the pastry curry puffs are irresistible - I end up ordering several each time I visit. All the cocktails are also very impressive just expensive so I usually just have a few.

We had the Lobster Tsunami and Tom Yum Fried rice. The service was very good and friendly. The food was generally well prepared. One claw on the Lobster was a bit mealy. That is something nearly impossible to check for and overall it was very good. The Turmeric fried rice with seafood underneath the lobster was great. The Tom Yum fried rice with Large shrimp also good. It was a bit sweet for our taste. We just prefer savory, spicy and sour over very sweet. I think this is more a of style issue that anything. I would go back again to try other items.

I love my experience at Farmhouse! Great atmosphere, friendly service, and amazing food and drinks. I took my family here to have a late Lunar New Year celebration and everyone in our party had a good time. Things are pricy, especially the Little Lao Table Set, but I personally think the overall experience is worth it.
Be the first to ReplyThe best thai food in all of the US.
The parathas, samosas, green curry and the fried chicken are to die for. Service is bad tho. Restaurant owners know food js good, so they dint cater for service. Makes you wait long. Would not take your name down for the wait list if one person in a group of 7 is not there yet. That wasted 15 mins, then we put our name down, then another 1 hr before we were seated! I go there often, but I still have to give 1 star for these ridiculous rules.

I love all the spicy Thai food so stumbled upon this place on a sunny Saturday walking in Jack London Square. Food is off the hook amazing! Was able to sit right down with no wait and the service was polite and fast. You can also eat with a nice view of the bay. No wonder this place get noticed by the Michelin Star peeps. Great food!

The food was authentic and absolutely outstanding, the service was prompt and very friendly. The server provided refills without even asking and made great recommendations. The Ambiance was nothing short of amazing. For anyone looking for great foodie pictures or anything in that realm I would definitely recommend this place. One of my favorite Thai Restaurants by far.
Be the first to ReplySome of my favorite Thai in the area.
When you go Thai hot it's usually very spicy. I like spicy so it works well. Drinks are great, food is great. Price is a little more than most other Thai spots. Patio is nice especially when it's nice outside. Pad Thai is really good here.

This place is amazing from the food to the service to the ambiance! First of all the servers were so kind and friendly. We arrived a little late and I called ahead of time to let them know and ask if we could adjust the reservation but they said not to worry about it at all. We ordered the Vegan Fresh Rolls, Pad Thai and the Short Rib Noodles and all were delicious and the flavoring was just right! The cocktails are innovative and tasty-- PLUS, the presentation is impactful. 10/10 will come here again.
Be the first to Replythis might just be my favorite restaurant in the bay area.
it's on the pricier side, but you can tell they use quality ingredients. dining here is truly an experience with the beautiful decoration detailing the entire restaurant. the service was a tad slow, but overall kind! beef noodle soup - the soup is salty and sweet, and they use egg noodles that just soak up the broth. the meat is SO GOOD!! it's so soft and falls off the bone. penang neau - the meat is so flavorful, and i love the presentation with the blue rice! the meat is similar to the one in the beef noodle soup, if not the same, so i'd definitely pick one or the other! pineapple fried rice - apart from the beautiful presentation, what makes this dish so unique is the amount of seafood they give you. there is literally more filling than rice, and the size of the seafood is big, too! 100% recommend trying this dish if you're a sea fan. i can't wait to come back here again!!

You will be paying for the experience and how pretty the place looks. But me personally did not like what I ordered. The food was bland and it just didn't do it for me. I spent $80 for a couple bites since I didn't eat the food. The service started off great until I was harassed about their cups. Seemed like our waitress was hinting at my party like we were going to steal the cups. Mind you we are a group of black woman. I am not a drinker but we were celebrating so I got a drink but I was babysitting my drink and the waitress was literally standing over me waiting to take the cup. Like be fucking forreal the cup is pretty but don't assume we are going to steal it. Making comments like there's a card on file if we take the cups. Just a hell fucking no for me. 0/10 I highly don't recommend this restaurant!!! Great for photos tho lmao
Be the first to ReplyNot for me.
The presentation of the food is delightful, and the service is very good. However, in my opinion, the food looks better than it tastes. I would prefer the inverse.N.B. If you are sensitive to sound, beware! Birthdays are celebrated with very loud prolonged banging of pots before singing starts. I am happy for those who appreciate this tradition; I found it terribly intrusive and abrasive, so I won't be returning.
Be the first to ReplyHip, modern Thai cuisine.
Their menu is a bit limited. But, their food is delicious. Part of the price is due to the beautiful ambiance and waterside location. Unique dishes available.
Be the first to ReplyAmbiance was weird.
My partner and I were hoping to have my birthday dinner here, we pulled with no reservations on a Sunday night, upon entering, they told us we'd be placed at the bar for a party of 2, when there seemed to be plenty of tables available in areas where other 2 person parties were being seated. Everything in the restaurant seemed like it was there for instagram/social media posts. I cannot speak on the food as we ended up leaving a few minutes after we were sat at the bar.

Scrolling through the menu, you'll be taken through a maze of some over the top items that you've never seen at a Thai restaurant. This restaurant is very pink, from the flowers, lights, decor, linens. Of course there are familiar favorites once you get to the end of the menu. A Thai restaurant for the traditionalists and trend seekers. Even the drinks will amaze you, and be prepared for an awesome rendition of Happy Birthday.
Be the first to ReplyThis would make a chill spot for a date night.
Decent Thai food and decent drinks. Dim lights to set the mood I suppose. Can go for a breezy walk towards the marina. My girl friends picked this place and enjoyed it. The ambiance and food is not my first choice. Just ok
Be the first to ReplyFirst time here on date night with the hubby.
He has low tolerance for spice so this place was a risk but worth it! Right upon arrival, we were greeted with a very happy host who accommodated our Open Table reservation very quickly! We got seated immediately (this place gets busy, highly recommend making a reservation!) And then we were greeted at the table immediately. Ordered the food and this place is definitely made for sharing. The portions are generous and the pricing kinda reflects that! The Waygu beef noodle dish we got was spicy but tolerable. The crab fried rice was sooo good. Good heaps of crab meat, fresh ingredients and the bone broth on the side is a great touch. The drinks took a while but worth the wait because of the enormous cups they come in. This place has really yummy, Instagram worth food and drinks. It has more of a Thai Contemporary feel as far as the food goes. The outside patio is super dressed up and I loved it. The inside is heaping with floral everywhere and really transforms you elsewhere. I enjoyed it and will be back to try more things!

Went here for an early Valentine's Day date with my boyfriend and had the greatest time! The drinks were all amazing and creative, food was incredible and so was the service! We came right as they opened and had a reservation but all the staff were still very responsive and quick to help us if we needed anything or had questions. Cannot wait to dine here again!
Be the first to ReplyGreat food but pricey.
Right on the water, great views. Hat yai friend chicken is super crispy. Samosas are delicious.

All of the food was so amazing! Had been wanting to try this place for a while and it certainly did not disappoint. The volcano noodles were delicious. Pretty spicy! Even for my bf who loves spice. Also highly recommend the fresh tuna appetizer. SO GOOD. Definitely will be back
Be the first to Reply5/5 for the beautiful setting and food.
Farmhouse Thai in Oakland is situated by the dock and the weather was amazing when we sat outdoors!! The food was very quick to come once we ordered, though slightly on the higher price end for Thai food. Reservations are available and I made one for 4 ppl on Thursday night. We ordered crab fried rice (favorite dish - came with soup and sauces), crispy chicken wings, pad kee mow, pad Thai, and ahi tuna. I'd say the noodle and rice dishes were very plentiful in terms of proportions (I was sharing with 3 others) while the apps were ofc smaller but there were at least two wings for each of us versus one ahi piece for every person.Crispy wings and crab fried rice were the stars of the meal; the other dishes were pretty good too/standard Thai dishes. Pad kee mow was spicy as expected which added a nice kick to the overall dinner set.

This place is so good--the service is top notch, the flavors of the food are always bold and bodied, and the ambience is lovely. Very Instagram-worthy food and decor. Vegan friendly too, which is a plus! But you'll definitely have more options if you're a meat eater. Oh and don't forget the drinks--they're awesome!Extra note to add that Amy, our server, was fantastic and so attentive!!
Be the first to ReplyKitchen Thai Cuisine at Jack London Square is superb!.
We ordered the ahi appetizer, papaya salad, fried chicken, Mango Sticky Rice, Wagyu Beef Rolls, Khao Soi Neua and Basil Bomb. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Service was excellent. Staff was wearing masks. Restroom is clean. Location is great with their outdoor patio overlooking the dock. I definitely recommend this restaurant
Be the first to ReplyWe ordered the fried chicken and pad Thai tofu.
We did sit outside but the restaurant was not busy, and unfortunately all the food came out cold. The food itself is good but I felt could have used more zest than to bring out the flavor. The service was excellent though
Be the first to ReplyFood sucks.
I mean they make everything very sweet. And the drink are so artificial. Isn't it risky to health to give sparkling light in the drink. Definitely not a healthy place.I was hungry but wasn't happy with food. May be it's for non spicy people. This place is not meant for vegetarian and vegan people. They had limited options for vegetarians on Friday.
