Good Food, Space, but.....
Food was very good, as was the cocktail I had. The space, the area in the back half of the restaurant was nice, good atmosphere. The 3/5 lends itself to feeling like the staff could not wait to get rid of us- for some reason- constantly swooping in to remove plates we were still working on and wiping off the table. Which felt like passive aggressive way of saying "hurry up and leave". After having appetizers, drinks, mains and deserts this felt offensive.
Be the first to ReplyGreat outdoor seating and great food.
We were visiting New York for my Birthday and met friends from Brooklyn at Faun on Friday at 7:00. We were seated outside on their intimate outdoor dining area. The atmosphere was great as well as the personal service and food selections. Would highly recommend and visit again whenever we are in NY again!

Enjoyed the patio dining-- a little chilly the the heaters did the trick
Great variety of entrees and appetizers with creative preparations. 4 of us dined, every dish superb. Nice beverage selections as well
Outstanding and imaginative menu and great atmosphere!
We had a great dinner, fine service, upgraded wine for no additional charge for four people. We had a
great sampling of appetizers and main courses:
AppetIzers we had
Tomato & watermelon salad with ricotta salata, sunflower seeds and basil oil
Gazpacho soup with strawberry, Calabrian chili, basil oil and focaccia crostini
Fried calamari with green chili aioli
Main dishes we had
Papardelle with lamb Radu and Parmesan
Atmosphere was elegant and great. If inside, insist on sitting in the back instead of in front on a hot day. A/C in front is not good because door yo outside sidewalk seating is open. We were concerned about rain. Otherwise this restaurant has superb cuisine. We will return here!
Arctic chat with zucchini purรฉe, onion compote and pea shoots
Parmesan risotto sith spinach, carrots, favs beans and pistachio pesto
I had a date night at Faun
I had a date night at Faun tonight and it was truly terrible (the food, not the date).
We ordered a classic manhattan as a starter cocktail and it was somehow a sugar bomb.
Then I got the mushroom pot pie as my meal. It was a few mushrooms chopped, with no sauce or gravy, covered with almost burnt puff pastry. It was so dry that I finished my underwhelming drink.
For the portions and food quality (or lack there of) it was very overpriced.
There are wonderful restaurants on this street. Donโt waste your time or money at Faun.
Hidden Gem in Brooklyn
We were told that Faun has received awards and that our daughter loves the place. She made reservations and we celebrated. The place is not large and you walk into a very comfortable bar/seating area. There is a very nice outdoor area, but it was to cold for that. We sat next the front window in the corner so we could talk.
Our appetizer was the artichoke dip which was a very nice sized portion for the three of us. We ordered the stuffed ravioli and the lamb chops. Both of these selections were outstanding! The ravioli was warm inside, but not over cooked. The lamb was juicy, tender and lightly seasoned. We also added a side of carrots as we were told they are too good to be true and the were.
This is a very nice restaurant that serves great quality food in a very casual environment. This is not white table cloth, but it is not needed as the food speaks for itself.
We will be back.
The place for good food and garden sit out !
This place is a very popular eatery on this upscale neighborhood ! We brought visiting family for dinner and came here for a lovely dinner . We chose to sit out on the garden and had memorable evening here . The food , service and the ambience are top here . The menu is limited for vegetarians - few items in starters , main dish and desserts . I ,being a vegetarian I chose to eat the corn , mushroom based pasta dish and others chose speghetti and meatballs , lamb ribs and lasagna which looked awesome and tasted delicious according to them . Wines were perfect and Gin and cranberry juice seemed great . Desserts were mouth watering . The beautiful sit out was too beautiful . There is also a choice of sit inside too . The rates are high as fine dining but your moneyโs worth . Memorable dinner . Reservations advisable due to rush . Generally packed !

Faun is a nice spot in Brooklyn. We sat outdoors on a beautiful day. The salad was a large portion. And the eggs in purgatory was the best version Iโve had.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious Feast of the Seven Fishes...with Vanderbilt Prices though!
Our party of four really enjoyed our meal--definitely a "Five Star" chef! We all tried the feast of the seven fishes for the $65 prix fixe. There were only three courses and the portion size of the three courses was on the small side. The venue was also quite small--but very cozy. Note: there is just one "unisex" bathroom on the premises. We might return to try the brunch in the spring when the outdoor patio is open. Tip: Be sure to drop by the Little Cupcake Bakery on your way home--it's right next door.
Be the first to ReplyGot the octopus twice!
Faun is a nice spot in Brooklyn. We got a later reservation. Unfortunately they were out of a few things. But we loved the octopus and had it twice. The pastas are delicious. And I had the fish which was okay. Lovely decor.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect spot for a light dinner
What a little gem this place is. I was fortunate to dine in the back patio area on a beautiful September evening. It's such a pleasant space, with twinkle lights dancing in the trees and rustic wooden tables. Having just returned from the Aegean coast, it was a welcome similar atmosphere to have a proper meal and crisp glass of rose. The fresh tagliatelle with corn and sungold tomatoes was incredible, and the pasta the other members of our party enjoyed looked lovely as well. Try the fava bean appetizer if it's on the menu, it's yum. Note some menu items may not be available - they were out of several late on a Sunday evening, but what they did have was great. I plan on returning every time I'm in the area.
