Fellow is a cool hip spot next to an art gallery in Westwood. It's a hidden local gem and the great ambiance would make a great date spot. Overall the dishes are pricy, but the service, ambiance and experience make it worth the splurge. For the food: The meal starts with a free amuse-boche. The hamachi crudo and tempura mushroom are perfect appetizers to split with 2-3 people. It's worth sitting at the bar for the bar exclusive dry-aged beef burger and fries. The onion jam elevates the burger and I would happily come back for this burger. They have great variety of cocktails and mocktails. My faves: crudo, tempura mushroom, burger + fries; Skip: seared duck
Be the first to ReplyDinner at Fellow was an incredible feast.
I came to the restaurant for the first time for a birthday celebration for a dear friend and colleague. We decided to order all of the appetizers and small plates and share them among us. It was perfect. We shared each dish among five people and experienced a incredibly tasty feast of flavors and textures. The service was great. My favorite appetizers and small dishes were:Tempura fried Maitake mushrooms with Nori, Aioli and Meyer lemonTomato salad with Burrata and toasted CroutonsHamachi crudo with Tomatillo Aguachile, Avocado and SerranoMy entree was Dungeness crab Chitarra with Yuzu Kosho and Fava beans. It was really great and the desserts were unbelievable. We shared the Peach and yogurt mousse and the Summer strawberries with Pink peppercorn Namelaka and Strawberry sorbet. It was an overall great experience!

The service was perfect, not cloying, not annoying, just the right level of knowledgable casually friendly attentiveness. The wine selection was chosen by a pro and the sparkling wine from Sardinia was such a novel treat and delicious that we didn't bother to explore any further. The pomme frites are the best this side of Paris, the crab pasta with fava beans was sublime, the seared duck was divine and the chocolate peanut butter torte was so good we ordered a second. Waiter!

I've been here twice, both times before a play at the Geffen. The service is always a step above anything else in LA, their servers and bartenders are next level. The drink menu is fantastic, as great as it looks and options that suit everyone. The food is amazing. This most recent visit we had the French fries, in the top 10 best fries I've ever had. The salad was the one disappointment, pretty boring. A crab pasta which was so good I would've picked up the plate and licked it if no one was watching. And the dessert, some light strawberry concoction that was just unreal. The previous visit we had the everything bagel bites which were such a treat, the crab pasta which is amazing and the hamachi crudo which was perfect. Highly recommend this place, so good on every level!

The food is amazing the atmosphere great and the service is excellent. I can't say enough about this place!!!
Be the first to ReplyThe ambiance at Fellow is 5/5.
You enter into an art gallery and then into the restaurant which is beautifully decorated. The booths gives you lots of privacy for conversation and the service is superb. The bar also looked amazing. Definitely a great date spot to impress! Unfortunately, the food itself did not match up with everything else here. The aesthetics of the food and the plating was very pleasing to the eye, however, the taste did not live up to the expectations. The duck and strawberry was an interesting pairing and it was not bad but not great either. Parts of the duck was very chewy as well. The lobster looked very pretty but the layer of skin between the meat and the shell was left on which made it hard to chew. The one dish I really liked was the hamachi crudo. It was fresh and well balanced with the pieces of avocado on the bottom. The chocolate cake was moist and yummy and I think the perfect portion.

5+ years in LA and many restaurants later, Fellow is among my top favorites for several reasons - service is helpful/casual/non condescending (Heather P. you are the best), the restaurant is nice and feels like you're treating yourself (without being stuffy), and the food/drinks are awesome.

This place is nice, classy, healthy-ish, expensive and unfortunately the portions are teeny tiny little morsels of goodness. But we loved it, however, tax, tips and drinks for four was over $200. And again, the people there were supper nice. We loved our waiter, and yes he got a great tip for his service. The drink was great! We got some plates to share, unfortunately, there wasn't enough for more than a nibble.I got the salmon and loved it. My stepmom got the Tuna and loved it. My sister got a rice dish that had a beautiful description. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to that promise. The person across from me, my stepmom's cousin, had another dish. But I regretted the decision to go halfsies with my sister with the rice and salmon. I'm sure she didn't.They also have a cute little gallery which is cool and as my stepmom waited for her Uber, we walked around and looked at the art. I can't say that I would go back again, but I'm glad that I experienced them that one time I went.

I go to the Trader Joe's across the way, and have no idea why it took me so long to discover this place. Their chocolate cake looked delicious, so I phoned in an order before driving on over. The entrance threw me off initially; it is the entrance to an art gallery, then the doorway to Fellow is directly to your right. But before you get there, the host stand is front and center. While the bill was taken care of, I poked my head in to take a look at the modern space. When I arrived to my car, I took a look into the bag and wanted to kick myself for paying $12 for such a small piece of cake, although I will say this was a beautiful slice of cake that actually tasted as good as it appeared. I opted out of the ice cream (I'm not sure if this is additional or not) and it didn't really need it since the cake was so good on its own. On their main menu-food and drink-there are a couple different items that sounded appealing such as the Roasted Carrot (with black rice and mushroom), their burger and fries, and the Sakura Rose Champagne. As far as I know, they only offer dinner at this time, which starts at 5p but I would love to visit if they ever open for lunch. I look forward to when I can visit to actually enjoy the food on the premises. Since I was just picking up, I parked at the Trader Joe's lot across the way but if you want to stay longer and avoid the $15 valet next door, the Target lot isn't too far away.
Be the first to ReplyWe were there 5/13/2022.
Good service but rip off for food. $60 for 2 tiny slices of duck as a main course. Are u kidding me? Pure rip off, never again.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing restaurant!! Exceeded all expectations.
Great drinks and amazing staff. Definitely get the crab mid course plate, easily best course I've had in a long time. The plates are a bit small for the price, but flavor is amazing. Should be 4.5, but great place overall.

This place is amazing nice people great food the lighting is right and the service is beyond great. They treat you like royalty. The quality of the food is fantastic really fantastic. The Portions are perfect and the food is so fresh. If you are in Westwood come to this restaurant. Everything in there menu is great and tasty. I wish they can stay lat at night like 12 am but they close at 10pm.
Be the first to ReplyI sat at the bar after work on a business trip.
I'm glad I did, because I got to try their 'bar only' dry aged burger and fries. I don't frequently have the privilege of going to a place that so perfectly cooked their burger. I judge a restaurant by that ability--because that, for sure, is not rocket science yet difficult to obtain. Yet they nailed it. Perfectly medium rare and incredibly juicy. Not too much seasoning, enough to highlight the beef with good accompaniment on top without the extra fluff like tomatoes (ick). The fries are thin cut and are crunchy and wonderful. I ate more than I wanted and don't regret it. The cocktails were well conceptualized and very interesting. It's nice to think about what you're drinking, and they did just that. If I lived here I'd frequent this place. I hope to come again soon to try their other amazing-sounding menu items.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful ambiance/decor, great service, and tasty food.
The interior is really well-decorated with great acoustics. As a pregnany lady, I particularly enjoyed the list of nonalcoholic cocktails. The Sake Lees Bomb was fun and delicious. It was on the sweet side with a tartness to it. I would say that I probably would enjoy this restaurant much more when I can safely eat raw foods as they seem to specialize in that. I ordered appetizer scallops but didn't realize they were raw so unfortunately was not comfortable eating them. The beef tenderloin with turnips was delicious, cooked a beautiful medium rare. However, again a bit undercooked in the setting of pregnancy. I very much enjoyed the apple dessert as well but I'm not sure that is on the main menu. I'd overall recommend this place by caution people who are nervous with uncooked foods as many of the best options were raw (which I usually love).

Great dining experience, from being accommodating of our lateness, to service and food. Everything was delicious. Literally every bite of the food from the main menu I took was so good. We had the chocolate cake for dessert and a coffee. I wasn't as impressed by the cake but it was still good, and I felt the same way about their cocktails. Full dining room from the beginning of our meal to the end and I would expect that they will keep the foodies coming. They have valet but we found a meter on the street, luckily.

Amazing place! Had a great experience on a casual date night with the girlfriend. Service was good, cocktails were next level. Really looking forward to coming back.

It's a perfect pre-theatre spot with excellent food, drinks, and service. The staff was kind and attentive. Every item ordered exceeded our expectations. Definitely plan to come back. Happy to know of this convenient and excellent choice in Westwood. It is a short walk to and from the theater.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent dining experience with a group of friends.
I particularly liked the duck and the steak! And the cocktails were money too, the canard (or however it's spelled) was awesome!
Be the first to ReplyIncredible meal.
From the cocktails to desert everything was perfect. The space is gorgeous with high ceilings and cool lighting and comfortable seating. The los Angeles sour was our favorite drink by a very special mixologist. The black truffle gnocchi was a real treat. My partner had the wagyu beef that melted like butter and was just perfect. Even the salmon which sounds pedestrian was an incredibly innovative presentation of poached ora salmon. And save room for the deserts. A very special treat awaits at the end. The service and staff are impeccably trained. Finally Westwood has a standout!

Extensive liquor option that pairs well with dinner.

The owner Adam came over and told us all about his vision for his two restaurants and the connect art gallery- super impressed with the architecture too. We tried everything on the menu and their bartender Adam made some of the best cocktails I've ever tried- HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I've written probably like 5 yelps reviews in my life and this is worth doing one- very special
