Not the best service or food, but it is a beautifully decorated restaurant with a fun neon light situation for group pics. We were a larger party of 12, but we had a reservation so the restaurant was aware we were coming. Our waitress took our drink orders, beers, their margarita drink special, and waters. It took 20 minutes for her to come back with our drinks and we were one of only a few parties in the restaurant. We ordered food, and when it came out it was terrible. Many of us ordered the steak and all of our steaks came out well to extra well done. The waitress didn't come back to the table until most of our group had finished eating. We sent one of the untouched steaks back and now that everyone else was done eating they didn't want to order again. We were provided with dessert, but the didn't take the steak off the bill!! She never ate it! The manager came out and said that the price of the desserts was equal to the steak.... What?! We thought he was comping the desert and taking the uneaten meal off the bill. With all the other choices downtown don't waste your meal here.
We had reservations for the Tipsy Flamingo for over a week
We had reservations for the Tipsy Flamingo for over a week for 7 people at 6:00. At 5:00 we got a call they were cancelling our reservation. I was on the freeway on my way from Utah County. How are we supposed to find another place in downtown SLC during March Madness for 6:00 for 7 people and it's 5:00. This was my birthday girls night out. Super unprofessional. They offered to get us in at 9:15. That is NOT a logical optition.
Came in before a concert and we had tacos and tater tots.
Food was good and the service was good. Would come back.
Great venue and atmosphere.
However, I'm not kidding when I say it's the slowest service in the entire Salt Lake Valley. It took 50 min to get our drinks. Food was good, but the slow service over shadows it all.
Worst Venue in Town
I’ve had so many bad experiences at this venue over the years. I gave them another chance last night for Arlo Parks and I was incredibly disappointed by the sound. It was on the smaller side which has the worst possible setup for sound. The stage is perpendicular to two straight walls and there are no sound traps to mitigate this in any way. This all results in the worst reverberations that drown out half of the sound. By observing the decisions made at this venue it’s been made clear that they only care about making money and not at all about delivering a good experience to patrons. Some other examples: I almost passed out at Rattatat one summer because they had inadequate air conditioning and no trained bar staff so they crammed too many people into their bar area. They used to charge people for wrist bands to go outside to smoke. I saw Jonsi and one of the openers was acoustic. They had another show on the other side and cross noise was coming over making it hard to hear. The larger side isn’t so bad now and I enjoyed Janelle Monaé there the last time she came through town. But if it’s on the smaller stage I’d avoid this venue entirely.

Pro Tip: Eat/drink at Flankers before the Jazz games! It seems like most of the restaurants in the area are packed before games, but Flanker Kitchen and Sporting Club is perfectly nestled out of the way so it remains uncrowded. Is it the best bar food I've ever had? No. Is it a decent option in the area? Absolutely. It really does have the potential to be something stupendous but it just hasn't caught on quite yet. I've seen photos of the epic brunch menu, so I know I'll be back at some point for that.
I just really think this place has potential.
The location is on the far north side of Gateway. We came before an early Sunday jazz game. It was not busy at all. That being said the service was quite slow. It looks to be a great space.

Don't recommend terrible service waited 25 minutes between starter and entree order. To be asked still waiting on entrees. We never ordered any because she never came to our table
Fun spot for food and drinks.
It's never too busy which is nice. The club area can be fun if you bring a group of friends with you. The best part though is the parlor, especially during the holidays. They decorate like crazy and offer a bunch of seasonal items. You have to check it out during Halloween/Christmas!
The ambiance for the football game was great.
Service was friendly and attentive considering how busy they were. Food was okay. We just had the wings and my husband had one of their sandwiches. He enjoyed his sandwich but I was a fan of the wings. Too much breading which I think took away from the crispiness. Overall, we enjoyed our time and would return to watch football.
We are from Chicago visiting nephew and have to say this
We are from Chicago visiting nephew and have to say this place is top notch! Came in a super busy night to watch the NFL playoff game and couldn't be happier. Every staff member was helpful, KIND and efficient! We asked to love our table 3 times and they were absolutely fine with that. Of course we got there early but still they were more than happy to accommodate us. Throughout the evening our experience was fantastic and we could not have asked for better. Great place!!! Amazing selection of brews and good food as well! We will be back again!
Never again.
I attended my first concert with my dad in 1988. In 35 years of concert going The Complex was the single worst venue I have ever experienced. Poorly planned. Ineffective crowd control. Unsafe policies. Security that at was at best inexperienced, but in reality, acted power hungry and abusive. I will never attend another show at The Complex.

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
