Amazing place for meat lovers and worth the price
We went there fo business lunch and I have to say the place is amazing close to 6th avenue and 54 street The room is large with a lot of space and sitting is good. Following the advice of our friends we will go for the churrasco experience,it means you can have all what you want on the buffet for vegetables for example guacamole salad tomatoes beans cold meat etc and The most incredible an all access pass to different types of meat (red and white: filet mignon, sirloin chicken pork lombo rib eye…) The concept is the following you have a flag they come with the meat and if your flag is green they continue until you’re done! Or you can set your flag to red to stop them and come back after a short pause. I’ve tried the following: Filet mignon: (rare) as juicy as it can be and very good so tender Sirloin: tasty and very tender as well Medalhoes con bacon: it is a bacon wrapped chicken breast so good and so tasty perfectly cooked Alcatra the top sirloin so tasty and so good Linguica: spicy pork sausage, a real good sausage to try a “pause” in the meat experience Lombo: a pork rib eye , not that bad for Pork Seasonal Cut was also amazing but cannot remember what it was We also had a glass of wine and sparkling water And I’ve made room for a small ice cream which was definitely good. I can definitely recommend this place

I have been to locations in Brazil and across the US. To date this has to have been my best experience. The food is so consistent across all the restaurants but what made this time special was the service. Our server, Daniel, was probably the most polite, helpful and relaxed guy I have run across in a long time. We had 14 guests and he managed all of them with such dedication. It's amazing that people like him are still around, you don't find that type of service very often anymore.

I am very disappointed with Fogo de Chão. I went there for lunch on the 18th of February, 2023. We were a group of five. I had already seen on their website that they have a menu option called "Gaucho Lunch", which entitles you to a buffet and a selection of one grilled meat. What for our group would suit very well, instead of the "rodizio". When we were already sitting down to order, we were informed that this "Gaucho Lunch" option was only available on weekdays and not on weekends. However, there is no mention of this on the website. Even so, since we were there, we decided to stay for the "rodízio". But again we had another disappointment, the frequency that the "rodizio" was served was very slow. We had to ask several times for them to come to our table more often. This is not the way a true Brazilian steakhouse operates. Even more so for the high price that Fogo de Chão charges.

I went at Fogo de Chao on Saturday (02/04) with an American friend who was going to visit the place for the first time. I made a reservation for 8PM. We arrived and the restaurant was extremely busy and they put us at a table at the back of the restaurant, a bad place where there was not much visibility for the waiters. Our experience was bad, there was no meat on the table, the only meats that was served were chicken with bacon and sausage. We had picanha once. The waiter was at out table just once, the buffet was extremely short on food because the crowdedness of the place, it was like leftover food. I was embarrassed to have taken him to the restaurant, because expectations were high, since it is a famous and an expensive restaurant that had good reviews. I will never go back to the place and I will not recommend it to any friends.

unique serving style, wonderful meal, love the variety of choices. Nice Mediterranean salad bar. Love the Gouchos.
Be the first to Replywine waiter watch out !!!!
I recently went to this restaurant. the welcoming staff were very pleasant and quickly sat us down at our table. the waiter was prompt and explained the process. the food was amazing the staff were very attentive. however the wine waiter was absolutely disgusting. we asked for a nice bottle of red wine that would compliment the meat. the wine waiter kept arguing with me as to he wanted me to buy a very expensive bottle of wine. we chose a bottle of wine in the end and look forward to it arriving at the table. We ask for the wine to be slightly chilled. when the wine waiter came back he had decided to bring yet a different bottle of wine that we asked for and again it was an expensive bottle of wine. I got tired of arguing with the waiter I just accepted the wine so that we could continue our evening celebration. The wine was not chilled and we ended up drinking only two glasses of red wine from the bottle. The waiter was obviously on some kind of Commission to sell the wine and completely spoiled the evening he was at noxious hustler and not a pleasant experience because of him .
Be the first to ReplyUsually Great, a bit disappointing this time
Fogo de Chao is one of my favorite "high end" chain restaurants, but this NYC visit had a bit of disappointment. Pros: good service, tasty salad bar and fire-roasted meat, best tres leches cake on earth if you somehow save room for dessert. Cons: for $75 per person before drinks and dessert, I expect the shared side dishes that come with the meal (cheese bread, crispy polenta, mashed potatoes, caramelized bananas) to be top notch like they have been at previous Fogo meals. Unfortunately, all four side dishes were a huge disappointment - if I did not know better, I would think they were cooked several hours earlier and not even kept under a heat lamp. The cheese bread was cool instead of warm and seemed to have no cheese. The crispy polenta was more like polenta bricks - cold and hard. The mashed potatoes were extremely cold and were extremely gloopy - almost congealed. Finally the caramelized bananas were cold and soggy. Given that everything else was spot on, I am still giving three stars - but hopefully next time the side dishes are not an afterthought from the kitchen

Nicely seasoned with rock salt, the various cuts of meat that came to the table were tender and delicious. Located across the street from MoMA, the restaurant space is large and classy. It was easy to reserve through Open Table, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Be the first to ReplyTruly amazing dinner experience with great friends
As part of our NYC weekend getaway I booked this restaurant for our dinner on Saturday night. To say it was amazing, is an understatement. Food was great, plentiful, staff incredibly friendly and the extra little touches such as the fermented pineapple drink, the cooked pineapple and the grilled cheese with honey, just capped off a great night. My only suggestion, is to go very hungry, I was not able to enjoy it nearly as much as I wanted due to eating lunch that day. Next time I will go and not have eaten all day. Everything was great.

We returned to Fogo to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The service was first-class. The food is legendary….Salad Bar beyond belief, then meat, meat and more meat. Special props must go to Nathalia Araujo, who made sure the day and meal would be remembered. Can’t wait to return for another special day.

Be the first to ReplyGreat Food but awful treatment!
My wife and I decided to have a light dinner before heading home this past Wednesday night 25th May. The outdoor seating of this restaurant was quite inviting and we asked the host/server if we can just have drinks and some hors d'ouvres in the patio setting they had outside the restaurant. We chose our corner table and the host gave us the menu. After a few minutes he came back to take our order: a cocktail and a glass of red wine plus two of their small plates. Our order came and was totally wonderful. It was brought out by waitress Anna who was wonderful throughout.
The first awful treatment came was when a bartender came out wheeling out a trolley with a special drink he was promoting. This bartender came to every table except us! Is it because we were not caucasian? Mentioning our disappointment to the host, he brushed it off and defended the bartender. He went about his duties first before going in the restaurant to call the bartender. After being given the bartender gave us a lame excuse, we decided to try it and ordered one. He started pouring our order and I commented to my wife shall we just share in one as we had already ordered our drinks? The bartender however still poured two - I was thinking the 2nd was his apology. When our bill came, we were billed for the other drink, too. No worries, we will just not come back!
