Always on a quest for Authentic Italian, but GF Pizza!
Always on a quest for Authentic Italian, but GF Pizza! Foretti's, you pass! Sat at the bar, per usual. Bar staff not has seats 4, and not a focal point f you're looking for that, but worked for me! Party of 1! Als ordered the limoncello because, why not! It was tasty.
Be the first to ReplyI now eat here regularly with my girlfriend for date night.
We always order the Lobster Ravioli and the Three meats and Three cheeses for a charcuterie. Nothing but good things to say about this place, keep killing it.

I travel to Newport Beach about once a month and this is a hidden gem. I don't think it's a typical spot for tourists so if you're traveling to the Newport area, give it a try. It's not a large restaurant, but the service is always on point. The dishes are very authentic, and in five visits I've loved everything I've ordered. Enough said give him a try.

So many great things to say about this place! Came across this gem for Valentine's Day. Based off the reviews I could tell it was going to be great. It's a small place but they make the best of their seating arrangements. The outdoor seating area was tented and was kept warm with heaters. If you're looking for tasty and authentic Italian food this is it! We ordered the meatballs to start, margherita pizza, chicken Alfredo, and the Lemoncello pasta with shrimp. I ordered the lemoncello because it sounded unique and it had so many surprising flavors. The Alfredo was well seasoned and not your typical boring Alfredo that just tastes like milk and cheese. The meatballs melted in our mouth and the sauce to pair was amazing. Not to mention great service from our server Monica who made our experience that much better. This is our new favorite spot and it's perfect for date night.
Be the first to ReplyCame back again and it did not disappoint.
Risotto and spaghetti/meatballs were my fave. The girls adored the butter pasta. Sometimes we split the kids order but it wasn't enough so we ordered one for each of them! The Calabrian chili oil was a wonderful surprise condiment.
Be the first to ReplyVegan doesn't mean plain.
The salad was small for $24 and the $5 price of avocado was weak. I'm not complaining about the price I'm complaining about the food became the cost implies a certain quality. That quality was poor on all the things I marked vegan and gluten free. Use some salt and some seasoning. Vegans actually want and need more salt and flavor. I'd assume a most high end restaurants I go to get this. You have the high end prices but clearly not the knowledgeable staff. If you charge what you charge don't hire people that can't properly define vegan or gluten free or any other dietary issue.
Be the first to ReplyHands down the best pasta I have every had.
This place was perfect and me and my girlfriend will be coming back to celebrate our 2 year anniversary in April. I ordered the Meatball Pizza and the Short Rip Fresh Pasta. For the short rib pasta, the noodles were WIDE. Nice and big, tatsy, soft, but not too soft, cooked to perfection. The meat and sauce were so rich and full of flavor. The sauce was THICK but not chunky. 10/10The pizza was cooked in a high temperature oven. It wasn't as exceptional as the pasta but still pretty great. The crust was thin, the cheese tasted fresh, and the meatballs were nice and tender. 8/10.For dessert, me and my girlfriend shared a romantic strawberry sorbet and spoon fed each other. Very sweet, tasty, sharable. 10/10My girlfriend ordered the lemon salmon pasta. Not my cup of tea but she is lactose intolerant and it is very rare that we go to italian restraunts. Most places cook everything in butter and put cheese everywhere. He stomach is EXTREMLY sensitive. I am happy to report this based the picky girlfriend test. I had a taste too and though it was good. But since this dish, and similar dishes on their menu, allowed us to enjoy italian cuisine together, I rate it a 10/10. (Flavor wise I'd give it an 8/10).
Be the first to ReplyWe dined here for by birthday.
There's outdoor seating on a heated patio, but we ate inside the main restaurant. The seating is tight, but it's a small venue and they want to make the most of what they have. The service staff was really personable. I can't remember the server's name, but she provided us good recommendations and even let us know which items were her personal favorites. The chefs have a section on the menu where the pastas are homemade on site. The lemon-infused pastas are AMAZING. We went back for our anniversary as well. One of our top 3 Italian restaurants.
Be the first to ReplyGood food and nice ambience.
Good place for good Italian dinner. I tried pasta and it was nicely served.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing experience at Foretti's! I would highly recommend
Amazing experience at Foretti's! I would highly recommend anyone local or visiting the area to check it out to sit down or for take out. The staff is great and the food is awesome!!

Culinary dream!!!If you're looking for authentic Italian cuisine... this is your place!!! A hidden gem although right on the main strip - just a wonderful overall experience! The service was just as delectable as the food! It's as if our server knew us better than we knew ourselves! Every entree suggestion she made was perfection and made our experience a luxurious one!The food... superb! Every spoonful left you eager to take the next bite and the delicateness of their presentation was not missed. Belleza!!When you're there... You're in Italia! You could see and smell the aromatics from the coal stone oven with the hustle of staff eager to serve their tables! The feeling is reminiscent of intimate romance with a hint of family dinner.Newport Beach's gem for sure!!

00 worth of pizza looks like from this place. I found this place on Doordash with good reviews so I thought I would give it a shot. Okay, kinda pricey but good food is usually worth it. But 3 basil leaves, floppy crust and 4 slices of red peppers isn't going to cut it. They need to quality control check their food before it leaves their kitchen. Just because I ordered to-go doesn't mean I deserve sub quality food that never would have been served to a person eating in. The food arrived ice cold and I am attempting to resuscitate two sad pizzas. Not a good experience.
Be the first to ReplyI found the food incredibly mediocre.
I had cioppino. The broth was more of a tomato paste, and there was very little seafood in the bowl (mainly squid). Disappointing. Servers continually bumped the table and my chair. I think they are trying to serve too many people, so quality is suffering.
Be the first to ReplyI have patiently waited to go to this place for so long
I have patiently waited to go to this place for so long that I ended up with three reservations at the same time to ensure one of them would work with my family. Finally got to go on Friday, March 11 and I have to say it was worth the wait. Every dish was specTacular but the pizza was like nothing I've ever tasted. The attention to detail, the ambience and the food is all evidence that Thad knows what he's doing. Whenever I go back it won't be soon enough
Be the first to ReplyWe dined at Foretti's last evening.
The food was excellent but the staff were very weird. We wanted to sit next to each other and indicated this request to the front staff. We were seated along the back wall and was told that we could sit next to each other at a small table. I had at that time asked if we could sit at the corner table which had a seating arrangement for four people but was told that it was possibly reserved. So, we sat at the table for two along the wall as initially seated. We attempted to move the table in a horizontal fashion for better table space as this is what is usually done when sitting side-by-side. However, a random employee who did not seat us came over and told us that we could not move the table due to the limited space between tables and proceeded to offer us a table in the middle of the restaurant, where we could sit next to each other. Later, we noticed that there were two people sitting in the corner table (seating arrangement for four people) that I had previous inquired about. The two people that got seated there came in after us and were sitting at another table for 15 minutes before they gave them that corner table (but we had a reservation well ahead of time). I find this practice quite unprofessional and frankly extremely disrespectful. Additionally, there was a large party in the covered outdoor seating area. One of the individuals of the group was sitting in a chair that was blocking the entranceway and of course he told them nothing. This is a gross and frank violation of fire code, putting everyone's lives at risk in an already small restaurant.I cannot say that we will return at this point, given this was our first time here, and first impressions are everything.
Be the first to ReplyRelatives treated us to dinner here while we were in town.
Delightful wine and delicious meal. As many others have noted, the focaccia and pesto was a wonderful way to start off. One family member had the special (sole with lemon caper sauce and veggies), 2 of us had the Healthy Salmon pasta (I had it as it comes, with the lemon infused pasta, bro in law had it with penne), another had the 50/50 pasta, and the last of us had the Shrimp Ravioli. All of us left very happy! Definitely recommend!
Be the first to ReplyFood was good but our server was the worst.
He was rude with a real bad attitude. We had to wait for almost 20 minutes before he even came over to take our drink order. He seemed he was annoyed and always in a hurry and then he would disappear for a long time. Every time we needed something we had to ask the hostess to go find him and have him come over to our table. He did not ask us if we need a refill with our drinks or if we needed anything nor suggested a dessert option. It was supposed to be a fun night out with friends but he ruined the experience. I probably would be back but if he is our waiter again I would ask for somebody else

Be the first to ReplyCozy, intimate and true northern Italian cuisine.
Their green sauce seems pesto but is not, I enjoyed it so much that forgot to ask about the ingredients. I was thinking of eating beef carpaccio or a home made lasagna but ended up super happy with my choice of Fettuccini limone. Very creamy and the freshness of the arugula and cherry tomatoes sealed the deal for me. Bountiful portion for one person. Nice atmosphere and staff is friendly.
Be the first to ReplyFood was good but our Valentine's Day dinner was badly
Food was good but our Valentine's Day dinner was badly affected by a greedy, bad-mannered waiter. We are two college students who went out for the holiday and my boyfriend was treating me. We don't have a lot of money because we are so young and just starting out. Our waiter, a man probably in his mid 50s-60s wearing glasses had barely any personality with us and whenever we ordered he just acted like we were bothering him, while we were being super polite and positive especially because we were so happy to be going out together for Valentine's day. He did not bring us any sort of drink menu and said that we could verbally tell him what we wanted. He asked if I wanted white wine and I asked for their basic Pinot. He upsold us and brought me their most expensive glass, which we didn't realize until we got the check!! For food, I asked to sub something and he pushed back before i kindly asked him to make the sub anyway. On top of this, he barely checked up on our table...the frickin bus boy came and checked on us more and we even had to have him get our waiter at one point for our check because our waiter was gone for so long. They didn't appear to be short staffed either because people sitting around us seemed to have kind, caring waiters and were in and out much faster than us. Guess we just got bad luck but it has derailed me from ever wanting to go back in case we get that bland, scheme-y guy again. And the fact he took advantage of us because we are young and it was VALENTINE's DAY is just so disappointing.
Be the first to ReplyJust stopped in and tried Foretti's for the first time.
Absolutely LOVED it!! It's a darling little gem tucked along PCH and oh so delish!! They offer fantastic service, a great variety of food (pasta, pizza, meat and fish etc) and delicious wine! My husband and I tried the Meatball and mozzarella pizza, which was really fresh and tasty. We had the Golden beet salad, the Octopus appetizer and I had the lamb chops. I love lamb chops and this was by far, thee best I've ever tasted! The salad and appetizer were both amazing! I would order it all again and again!! I can't wait to return and try some other items on the menu...I feel a girl's night coming on! Highly recommend!!!!!

Restaurant gave wrong order to Uber Eats driver, $75.00 worth of food that I'm sure is on its way to somebody who didn't pay for it. When I called the restaurant, person on the phone offered no solution and told me to call Uber Eats. I asked for a manager and was told none was available. It was the restaurants error, should've checked that they were giving the right food to the right person. Very disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyLobster ravioli and Tasmanian salmon.
Wow!!! In a food coma, Salmon was healthy and delicious, lobster ravioli not so healthy but waaaay too delicious. This place is gonna get me fat!!! Good thing it's winter!
Be the first to ReplyI first read about Foretti's from Brad A.
Johnson, a food critic of 20+ years. He raved about their wood fire neapolitan pizzas (their pizza oven was flown straight from Italy) and house made pasta, amongst a few other dishes. On a whim, we decided we wanted to try them out on a Sunday evening. While on the way, I was quickly able to make reservations on Open Table for indoor seating (though they have a covered cozy looking outdoor patio as well).Inside is charming and feels a little bit like dining in the city as the restaurant's front windows greet PCH. I immediately noticed a large party celebrating a birthday, which showed me this spot lends to a good time. After speaking with our fabulous waitress Monica, she mentioned their primary customers are locals. Summer is when they get more tourists.Quickly after sitting down we were given focaccia and a pesto dip to get our appetite going while we looked over the menu. We were pleasantly overwhelmed with menu choices and with Monica's help we ordered fried olives and a Cesar salad with whole anchovies on top for our appetizer. Haven't had a Cesar like it!For our dishes we ordered their Salsiccia (housemade wild boar sausage, wild mushrooms, manchego, mozzarella) and Baked Ziti. The pizza crust was just divine and the house made chili oil to pair with it even better.Service was attentive and excellent through and through with all hands on deck. For you Pizzeria Mozza fans, I think this place is better.
Be the first to ReplyPros:- Can reserve ahead via open table.
Walk ins also allowed.- Service is great! We were helped by Monica who was super friendly and quick. - Free street parking, but they also have a lot for the restaurant. - Lots of indoor outdoor seating. Outdoor seating still has a cover/roof w heaters so it's cozy. Easy access. They also have a part open concept kitchen so you get a glimpse of the oven!- so many options. Bread and pesto complimentary. We had the wood fired margherita pizza w extra veggies. The sauce was great, bread was soft (but not as crispy as I'd like). Overall fast service. If we visit again, definitely trying something pescatarian Cons:- As of jan 22', no mask mandate - staff not wearing masks or requiring anyone to wear one.- super minor but noticed some people struggling with the menu font.
