I canโt believe we spent almost $400 on terrible steak.
I cannot believe we just paid almost $400 for dinner here. A family member recommended this spot so we came for our Valentineโs Day celebration. From the start this place felt like a chain restaurant even though it isnโt. If your going to charge $180 for a steak, it shouldnโt feel like it was sealed in a freezer pack and opened up once ordered. The atmosphere is crowded and frenetic, the cocktails are extremely watered down and lacking layers of flavor. We got tuna tartare to start and it just had no flavor. My husband and I are huge steak lovers so I got almost anxious for the steak to come out after having the appetizer and cold garlic bread. The steak, for calling it a bistecca, was just terrible. We got it rare, and I think they forgot it on the line once it was put up from the grille. The outside should be sizzling with a cool red center and it was cool to the touch. It wasnโt juicy, and was chewey and tough. Even with the extra $12 truffle butter and house steak sauce it couldnโt be saved. We skipped dessert and then waited 30 MINUTES for our check to be brought and cashed out. We cried a little inside that we just paid so much for a terrible meal (weโve paid the same at stage left and had a phenomenal meal). My husband and I agreed to scrap this as our Valentineโs Day dinner and have a redo at Peter lugers as it was so bad. The one positive was our server was very sweet, and itโs not her fault the food is just terrible. I think to date this is the most expensive steak we have eaten out, and the worst steak we have eaten out. What was also awkward was the hostess and manager kept hovering over our table to see if we were done, when we were just waiting to be cashed out so we could go home. Please donโt waste your money.

This place is way over priced for only fair food. We got the cowboy ribeye and itvwas cook rsre like we ordered but steak was tough. The price was $58. We also ordered the wagu ribeye for $125. We were asked if we wanted truffle butter but didnt know they charged $20 extra. Wont come back again. Its $120 per person with a bottle of Bonanza.
Be the first to ReplyGrossly overrated and overpriced restaurant we've visited in many, many years.
I ordered a double pork chop and was served loin of pork. I have never been served a pork chop with no bone in. The taste was bland. My appetizer was Caesar Salad that was swimming in dressing. A glass of Meiomi Pino Noir was $16, while a bottle costs around $19 everywhere. I might not have complained if the pour was half of the glass rather than barely one quarter full. The price list for wine at this restaurant justifies that BYOB policies in New Jersey should remain in place. We were three couples sitting at a round table, but due to the loud music and close proximity of other patrons, everyone had to shout to be heard. I would never recommend this overrated restaurant to anyone.
Be the first to ReplyI was seated a half hour late and the staff was discriminatory
The moment I walked in, I should have walked out. I had made a reservation for my friends and I weeks out for a bachelorette. One girl in our group was sick so I called and asked to move it to later. I explicitly said โI understand if you are booked for the nightโ The person said they had outdoor seating available and I agreed. Apparently this meant my booking was very specifically outdoor only which I learned when arrived and waited nearly 30 minutes for my table. I told the hostesses multiple times I did not care where we sat. We were staring at a table for five inside for the entire time. And there was a guy with a seating chart iPad ( who seriously, if heโs a manager should be fired) said to me โ there are people who booked months out waiting tooโ Well buddy, I booked ahead, too. Is they really the way you respond? What did he do next? A group of girls came and hugged and kissed him saying they came super early and asked if they can get seated early. And he sat them. This wasnโt the only instance groups larger than us were sat; groups that were waitlisted returning back with text messages that their table was ready. As we finally get our table the hostess says that they were waiting for an outdoor table. I did not exclusively need to sit outside and I said this. And the entire time they had on file that we were there for a bachelorette. I felt seriously discriminated against and disgusted. Iโm so glad I donโt live around these people. Also, if youโre non-white just know thereโs not a single colored person there, that alone should have been my red flag. The food was good but my sauce was separating when it arrived to me, oil sat at the bottom of my plate and it was under seasoned. But definitely some weirdly overpriced things. Like $12 for garlic bread for like 3 servings. Also they threw shaved truffle on our app and my pasta. And for the price i paid I donโt even believe it was real truffle to be honest lol Our server was good, nothing outstanding. He did acknowledge the celebration. I honestly was waiting for a manger to come out and apologize. But I guess because I told the hostess I had no intention of dinning with them again they didnโt think it was worth the effort. Can easily say that I wouldnโt recommend this place to anyone. Definitely ran by a bunch of racists at the front.
Be the first to ReplyBest steak I've had in a long time
I visited Gabriella's over the summer and was less than impressed with the lunch. The chicken sandwich I ordered had bread that was impossible to bite through or cut, you actually would need a saw to cut the sandwich in half.
But I gave it another try last night for dinner and it was phenomenal! Four of us ordered the ribeye, 1 ordered the Kansas City and one order the filet mignon. Everything was so delicious!
Gabriella's is known to be expensive but last night proved why. We were there on a Monday night and there wasn't one table open and the bar was full as well. I've never seen something so busy on a Monday night!
Unfortunately we had no room for dessert so I can't comment on that.
But honorable mention to the garlic bread and creamed corn that were to die for. I usually go to Portuguese when I want a good steak but now I know where to find one locally
Surprisingly excellent
We dined here on a Monday evening; the restaurant was open when many fine dining establishments in the area are not. This was our first time. The interior decor was modern with wood, glass and concrete surfaces and the seating was comfortable. The restaurant was fairly loud, with many larger groups dining at the time our visit, but we could carry on a conversation at normal levels and the tables were sufficiently spaced where we did not feel we were on top of one another or forced to overhear others;' conversations. The restrooms were spotless.
Our server Jenna was friendly, enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable. She made several excellent suggestions from the well-balanced menu. Her service was also excellent, despite the restaurant being quite full and her having to balance attending to multiple tables at the same time,
When one of our appetizers did not arrive with the rest, the manager came to apologize and made sure that the dish was then delivered immediately and also removed the charge from our bill which was not requested or necessary but appreciated.
The garlic bread is a must have. The seared octopus appetizer was outstanding, as was the halibut, and the scallops were among the best one of my dining companions has ever had anywhere. The bone-in ribeye was cooked perfectly and was also excellent. The prices are not cheap, but are certainly justified given the quality of the ingredients and the superior preparation and presentation.
The only negative on the evening was when we arrived and had a drink at the bar. Although there were only a few others there, the two bartenders on duty at the time never looked our way, did not regularly scan the bar to see whether customers needed anything, and both stood with their backs to the customers for minutes at a time apparently attending to something more important than serving drinks. Not something I've experienced before, never done as a bartender myself, and the poor service was inconsistent with everything else in the restaurant.
Memorable Meal
Place was packed, reservation needed. Italian steak house with a mixed menu. The Charcuterie appetizer is the best around. The steaks are great but tonight the Halibut with Cannoli Beans and Broccoli Rabb was the top of our choices. Normally I would include several pictures of the food. Tonight I have elected to include a picture of our waitress, Alexandra (Alex), because her attention to our table made us feel special. She had a thorough knowledge of the menu and was helpful answering all of our questions. Equally important, she has a smile that promises that every dish will be delicious, and stopped by several times to confirm that everything was to our satisfaction. Lovely meal, lovely waitress, lovely evening.

Went to Gabriellas to savor a good steak, because that is what you do in a steakhouse. I was a little disappointed as I feel the. Piece of filet tha t I ordered definitely came out too fast to not have been part cooked and it was not juicy at all. The steak is overpriced but if it was top shelf that would not have been an issue. The sides, which are extra, were very good.
Be the first to ReplyDid not honor reservations.
Even though we had made a reservation for indoor seating the staff seated us outside in 40 degree weather. The staff just didn't care about us. In this time of COVID there are plenty of other restaurants that needs everyones business.

Be the first to ReplyUnsafe During Covid
It's really unfortunate that Gabriella's chooses not to follow Covid guidelines. Walking in on a Friday night in Dec was downright scary. The restaurant had to be filled to 80% capacity, not 25% with tables really close together and definitely not the required 6'. In addition to the packed house, people were walking in and around the restaurant without wearing masks. The owner was greeting customers at the front door and did not tell them to please put on a mask. WHAT??? Hey I get it, restaurants need to make a profit but not at the safety of its customers. Many NJ restaurants are following the guidelines but Gabriella's is not one of them.

My family and I dined here last night for my mother's birthday and we LOVED it. I booked our second reservation before we even left the restaurant.
The food, the staff, and the atmosphere are exceptional. We ordered the wedge salad, caesar salad, NY Strip, scallops, and skirt steak, all cooked perfectly. The gelato and cookie skillet were also amazing. I'm so sorry we have not been here sooner!
Frankie, the owner, was so kind and made sure every single table there was well taken care of. We are so excited to come back. We've definitely found our new spot to celebrate all birthdays and special events, in addition to coming back for a normal sit-down dinner.
A great Bday night out at Gabriellaโs!!!
We had dinner tonight to celebrate my wifeโs birthday with my son and his girlfriend. We we seated outside. Weather was just right. Slightly cool but staff fired up propane tower heaters to keep the chill out. We all chose the pop overs for our bread. They were light and fluffy as usual. For appetizers we started with west coast oysters, tuna tartare, and the large charcuterie board. Everything was fresh and delicious. For entrees we went with 2 fillets the black truffle lumache and I went with the Kansas City steak. All the steaks were cooked to perfection and the truffle lumache with fennel sausage was delicious. We had Disarono sours and Negronis for drinks before and during dinner. They were mixed very well. Finally for desert the brought out a Bday ice cream with a sparkler on it. Very nice presentation and tasted great too. Our main server Jenna and assistant server Grant were extremely attentive. They kept the drinks and water coming and Jenna made some very nice suggestions for apps and desserts. Excellent customer service and atmosphere!!! A great Bday night out at Gabriellaโs!!!

In a world of face masks, distancing, and outdoor dining Gabriellaโs is that beacon of light at the end of the tunnel. This was our first experience eating out in three months. We could not have selected a better choice. The service was relaxed, the food was excellent and the portions were large enough to have lunch for tomorrow. Highly recommend.
