Bad vibe, employees think they are way more cool then they are. Will not go again.
Be the first to ReplyTOURIST TRAP! If you want good food this is not the place.
It's super gimkcky and basic. Everything super salty and kinda gross this is another hype project the actual food is terrible. The tables are super close to each other they're trying to squeeze in every table it's like you're eating with the people next to you. They're trying to make as much money as they can while it's open and while bad bunny is hot- And at the end the waiter came to the table and said that the 20% tip is not for him- it's for the house, that is really bougetto and made me uncomfortable. this place will not make it long term.

Food and ambiance were fabulous BUT it's pricey and be prepared to be RUSHED. Unfortunately, we will not return. For the price, would rather go somewhere else where it doesn't feel like your speed eating.
Be the first to ReplyMost horrible restaurant ever .
Made a reservation a month in advance and was attended and "seated" to two hours later 12 am - just to tell us they have no more seating left. Waited at the bar and the drinks were also horrible. Asked the host why she made us wait two hours to seat us and she stated she had no more tables left and has other reservations made that need to be seated. Please stop taking reservations if there's no seating or tables . What a waste of time extremely disappointed
Be the first to ReplyHad dinner here with 13 guest for a birthday.
Our waitress was amazing she helped us order enough food and even accommodate a few plates that we had ordered for all of us to eat. The sushi and crab cake was my absolute favorite. The ambiance was also so nice with good music. After dinner we went to the back where they have a lounge which was so much fun.
Be the first to ReplyOk by far the greatest wagyu skirt steak ever.
You can try the nigiri and sashimi and crispy snapper that everyone posts but the star at this place is the beef.

yesterday was my first time in gekko, the environment is incredible, the music is great, the environment is super clean and organized, the food was incredible, we stayed in the bar area, me and my friends, we were very well attended, and I want to emphasize and to thank the employee Georgette, who assisted us with contagious joy and energy. I will always come back!

Gekko was everything I wanted it to be and more - the ambiance was exquisite.. Japanese detail, floral patterns and the lighting was intimate. The food was filled with flavor. The steak was buttery smooth and the noodles were cooked to perfection. The service was kind, attentive while also allowing space for conversation and time to eat & drink. The only thing missing was a visit by Bad Bunny himself!!

Honestly if you want an out of this world extraordinary experience, look no further. For the finest upscale Japanese steakhouse with a Latin flair, this place DOES NOT disappoint. This may be the best food, service, cocktails, everything, I've ever experienced in Miami. From the waygu steak many ways, the Chilean sea bass and the lobster for the godddssssss... a culinary orgasm. Thank you for making my bday the best I've ever experienced. Or and the banana cake and dulce de leche cake.... Indescribably delicious...
Be the first to ReplyThe hype is still strong here.
I came here for a birthday celebration, ready to be litty to whatever Bad Bunny soundtrack was going to be playing, and we got our Bad Bunny vibes on. You can book a reservation here up to a month in advance, and reservations are definitely necessary no matter what day you want to go.From my experience, they do not answer their phone, so don't bother calling them. Instead, fill out the form that they have on their website for inquiries and leave a phone number. I messaged them asking whether I could bring a cake to the restaurant, and I got a call back from them within a half hour. The reply was that I could bring a cake, but they would charge $8 per person for one of their chefs to cut and plate the cake.I had a Heavy Rotation drink at the bar while we waited for one of our friends to arrive for the reservation---they will not seat you without everyone in your party present. The drink was pretty, not overpowering despite having tequila blanco and mezcal in it, and pleasantly mildly sweet for sipping. The menu at Gekko is over the top with a price tag to tell you this isn't any ordinary meal. The Lobster Dumplings are a signature appetizer both in presentation and flavor. The black dumpling wrappers are comprised of flavorful filling, tied cutely and topped with gold flakes while sitting on a creamy lobster sauce. The A5 Hot Stone steak is great for show but nothing else to write home about for $120 of 4 ounces. I do love the idea of searing and finishing the steak with a soy based sauce on the hot stone---there was a lot of smoke for a moment. The finishing still left the steak a little rare and tender. The Crispy Snapper is also a standout, with the fish being whole fried and its head accompanying bite sized pieces of the snapper with the spicy and zingy flavors of chili pepper and ginger giving the fried pieces a flavor direction. The lobster fried rice is also a decadent and satisfying dish that's full of flavor. The lobster head accompanying the dish makes it over the top, and the fried rice is well seasoned while having that firm rice texture you look for in fried rice. And don't forget the shareable dishes! The Japanese Milk Bread is soft, fluffy and buttery, with just the right amount of sweetness to complement any dish or just have on its own while you wait for your other dishes. The Lava & Ice Oysters are fresh, beautiful in presentation while sitting on the vapor of liquid nitrogen, and enhanced by the slight sweetness and texture of the crushed watermelon.I would say Gekko is worth going to once to experience, celebrate something and say you've been there, if you're willing to spend $90-200 per person. Our server was attentive but was very aggressive with getting us more than one of the shareable dishes for a group of 6 to have. He essentially decided for us that we'd get 2 dishes of the oysters and lobster dumplings so everyone could share them. We got dessert but our server first recommended Bad Bunny's Strawberry Dessert which "is the last one left from yesterday." Why would we want to get something from yesterday?I asked about the Tea for Two cocktail, and he said it is essentially 2 drinks in one that can be shared or drank by one person. He was pretty much about to put in an order for it before I stated that I'm good with drinks. If you can maybe get a less pushy server, your meal here can be stellar.
Be the first to ReplyI would expect it to be much better.
Even tho we had a reservation and arrived on time we still ended up waiting for 1.5hr standing at the bar. It is not acceptable. If you can't manage it, don't overbook the place. That's all.Place is packed and loud. It's fun but don't expect to have a a romantic dinner. Food was okay. Once again, could have been better for the price they are charging.

Last night, my fiancé went to buy a table at this establishment, and they told him he could not come in because he was wearing glasses. The doorman said he would need to take them off in order to enter then my fiancé explained they are prescription glasses and the doorman said he did not care. This obviously really frustrated my fiancé to the point he got upset and left. Who is the doorman to ban prescription glasses?
