Awesome for lunch or dinner!
This is our favorite special occasion restaurant in Malibu. My wife and I have had our anniversary dinner here almost every year since we married in 2016. From the food and drink to the service to the ambiance, Geoffrey's never disappoints. This week we decided to enjoy a lovely lunch, and we enjoyed our server (Drew--cute as a button, love his laugh), the drinks, food, and view as always. We always share a bottle of Honig Sauvignon Blanc Reserve from Napa. My wife had the scallops (to die for), and the pesto chicken salad. Delish!

My wife and I have had our anniversary dinner here almost every year since we married in 2016. From the food and drink to the service to the ambiance, Geoffrey's never disappoints. We always make an early reservation, so we can watch the sun set. This year, Arturo took excellent care of us. We shared a holiday drink to start, followed by a bottle of Honig Sauvignon Blance Reserve from Napa. Then we split the wedge salad and Geoffrey's Surf and Turf. Already looking forward to next year!
Be the first to ReplySpectacular setting
One of the most beautiful views of any restaurant I have ever been to. Service friendly and relaxed, which is perfect for the setting. Food was delicious. Couple of bottles of white wine. Great lunch on a Friday!!
Be the first to ReplySmall but beautiful restaurant
Really enjoyed our lunch during August. Lovely view and charming ambience, although the restaurant was much smaller than I expected. The food was good but not exceptional. I would recommend as a great venue to enjoy the coastal views in Malibu with good service.
Be the first to ReplyCould not have been a better experience
Made a last-minute reservation to this restaurant that we had previously celebrated our 1st anniversary dinner 39 yrs. ago. I did mention that when making the reservation, not thinking or expecting anything special will come out of it. I was surprisingly wrong in my assumption. When we arrived, we were greeted with a "Happy Anniversary" and seated to what I believe was an excellent table with a great view. William was our server and once again, we could not have asked for better service. He was also aware of it being our anniversary and made certain we had a great experience. Lasty, the food. Not certain why but I wasn't gravitating towards any on the menu, so I ordered the Chicken Picatti ...not exciting but a safe choice. I couldn't believe how good it was...not sure how but maybe the best chicken breast dish I've had. My wife loved the Lobster Cobb salad and we both enjoyed the delicious Crab Cakes and Caesar Salad. Great food and service! Thanks again WIlliam!

Very low quality dining for the cost ($400 for 4) . American style food. We eat much better at home. Waitress nice though, cocktails were good and nice ocean view.

My husband and I have been coming to Geoffreys for about 20 years, except during Covid. Beautiful setting by the sea with better than average cuisine. We came for lunch to celebrate our anniversary after a long break, booked well in advance and asked for sea view table. When we arrived, we were put at a table behind a pillar and then moved to a table with not much of a sea view. The service was indifferent and the food very average. When I asked about how to reserve a sea view table in future, I was told, can't, first come, first served. Surely there is a better way to run a restaurant and to make clients feel valued. So we had our lunch among tables of screaming toddlers (which never used to be the case)--and left quickly; Really disappointing. I will be looking elsewhere for a similar restaurant in future.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food, ok views
We came here because we heard about excellent views of the ocean. However, the restaurant is set back from the beach with houses in between the restaurant and the beach. From the restaurant, you can see some of the ocean but not a lot, especially if you are seated near the back of the restaurant. The food, on the other hand, was excellent. We had salads to share at the table with main dishes as well. The scallops and burgers were perfectly cooked and the accompanying sides were great. The Thousand Island fries were not that good. We had a vanilla-chocolate creme brulee for dessert, which was unique and also excellent. There is valet parking on site, and I didn't see another way to park, as the restaurant is right off of Pacific Coast Highway.

Of course the view is pretty and the food was good. Unfortunately our waiter rude with reaching across us to grab glasses and knocking into me as I’m eating in the process. Also he lit a candle on our dessert for “in case we we’re celebrating anything”. It seemed weird he didn’t just ask but we were not celebrating, only driving through Malibu.

It’s many years since we were last here. This place is a great example of Southern California outdoors fine dining. It’s not actually on the edge of the Pacific with houses between it and the ocean so many tables don’t have a “sea view” but the lush planting and excellent lighting when it’s dark make up for this. Service is excellent and there is a good selection of mainly seafood on the menu. I had paella for my main and it was better than one I had in the Canary Islands a few weeks ago.
Be the first to ReplyA Perfect Day, A Perfect Meal!
Geoffrey’s is my all-time favorite Malibu restaurant (over NoWay and so many very good but over-hyped trendoids). As a Malibu resident for more than 30 years, I’ve dined them all and am so happy when I’m at Jeff Peterson’s legendary establishment. The menu as a whole is nearly flawless, but our table’s favorites this day began with Ahi Tuna Tartar, followed by entrees of Day Boat Scallops, Crab Cake Benedict, Seared Chilean Sea Bass and Herb Crusted Salmon. All were superb! The food may only be surpassed by the service. Rey, our waiter, has been there forever, and though I have moved to Santa Barbara and hadn’t been to Geoffrey’s in a couple of years, he immediately greeted me and recalled my Malibu history. You can never go wrong at Geoffrey’s. I haven’t.
Be the first to ReplyJust wonderful and delicious
A great location, with superb views (normally I guess - we hit this in a stormy week) of the Pacific Ocean and Malibu beaches. Menu is enticing and multiple visits re needed to sample the whole range. Seafood chowder was delicious, thick and creamy. Geoffrey’s paella again delicious and a good bowl full. If you have room, the Crème Brûlée is amazing, with a surprise chocolate base. All the staff are friendly and helpful, from arrival through to departure. Check out the names under the artwork on the walls too.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful view and great service.
This restaurant had it all. There is a beautiful backdrop overlooking the ocean. The service was top notch. The menu had something for everyone and the food was good. It was my favorite meal while staying in Malibu.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best on the PCH.
Visited Geoffreys with friends to celebrate my wife's birthday. We were all impressed by the location, food, service and ambience. A truly memorable experience. Would have preferred to visit in daylight to take in the magnificent views over the Pacific. Would highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyThankful Thanksgiving feast
We dined here for our Thanksgiving dinner. Seated at the table by the steps down to the beach. Beautiful view! It was very windy that afternoon. They were managing the situation very well. We were thankful they were working on Thanksgiving for us.

Nice place for a sunset meal but very expensive without the grace that really good restaurants have. I reserved online and when we arrived, we were seated inside in the dark even though there were still plenty of better tables available outside with better views, and those tables stayed free all evening, so clearly there is no desire to seat people in the best possible places. We had to wait for a while without menus. The table has a little dim light but no candle. We used our phone flashlights to read the menu in the dark. The food was okay but hardly amazing. My father found his swordfish tasteless. As far as the views were concerned, be warned that there is construction going on right in front of the terrace, which is not their fault of course, but does make for less great photos at the moment.

On a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. Very attentive service and staff. Good food, nice options, good wine list. A bit disappointed for some items missing from the list but efforts to compensate made the difference. The view completed the good vibe of the place. Both salmon and burgers were super.

Brilliant views of the ocean. Steps down to the public beach, and great food. Perfect combination!! Also great views of the sunset from the outside patio.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and wonderful ocean view
A colleague and I stopped in for lunch and found the setting to be breathtaking. Every table overlooked the ocean. The lunch menu had something for everyone. I had a salmon dish and a local wine. My colleague had a cheeseburger and fries. Both of us enjoyed our meals and the prices were quite reasonable.
Be the first to ReplyStunning View
One of the most beautiful settings in all of California. All the staff is friendly and helpful. The drinks are great and innovative. We split the wedge salad and had the paella and the chilean sea bass. Both were outstanding. The prices are on the higher side which is to be expected at a restaurant of this caliber. Great spot for a special occasion!
Be the first to ReplyUnfortunately terrible food
I went to this restaurant with extremely high expectations. The views were truly amazing and the atmosphere very cozy. However, the food was not appetizing at all. The plating was unappealing and my fish was dry and tasted extremely poorly. My mother’s chicken was served along side a brown purple mash/sauce that was pored and smeared all over the place and tasted very bad. Also the dishes were served with different things than what was written on the menu. My father also got his starter 20 min after the rest of us, and the staff numerous times forgot our drinks that we ordered through the night. Overall I am very disappointed and during our visit we went to a lot better restaurants with better prices.
Be the first to ReplyA big tasteless mess.
The best parts were the valet and the front of house staff at the door, who were prompt, kind and understanding. It goes downhill once you get seated. The entire place is filled to the brim with tables. The wait staff are an all male team who seem to be shouting at us, at one another, and at the kitchen. They were all flustered and under great stress to turn over the table for the next seating. The food crude and tasteless. When you go to the restrooms, which face the kitchen, you understand why. More yelling and chaos which sounded like a frat party. Final straw, is receiving the bill with the 20% suggested tip, circled a few times. The views are just not worth the journey, the service and the food. Poor taste. Literally.

Disappointing Anniversary Dinner with an overall score of 2 out of 5. Not a good value for a dinner of over $300+. Hard to give a score that is fair for all involved so will try to break it down:
Hostess showed no energy and spoke so softly we honestly could not comprehend what she said. She gets a 2 stars.
Bartender that made our drinks while we waited for our table was very busy and did well. He gets 3 stars.
Waitress was pleasant, professional and we appreciated her recommendations. What we didn’t like is she completely forgot our Appetizer which we were so looking forward to enjoying. She also could have done better with the timing of our salad and main course! Nobody likes to be rushed and within 30 min of sitting down we were half way thru our main course! The spacing she provided between the main course and desert is what we should have been able to enjoy after our salad! Angel gets 4 stars.
Food was very disappointing. My wife ordered the Scallops and upgraded with one extra scallop. Scallops were very under cooked and we believe the cause of her discomfort all night! I ordered the Filet and it was the worst Filet I have ever had! It was thin, chewy but had good flavor. Rather than a thick Filet it seemed like it was a piece of meat more like a NY Strip… I don’t even think it was a 1/2 inch thick. Desert was magnificent as we enjoyed the Bread Pudding, give that a 10+. Filet gets a 3 out of 10. Scallops get a 6 out of 10. Food gets 1 star.
Valet was awesome, helpful, courteous and very service oriented. Give them 5 stars.
Crab cakes
Beautiful looking out on the pacific - great service from legit nice people - fair price parking ($10)
Had tasty crab cakes, but slightly disappointed in lobster meat salad
Beer selection could be more robust - but for sure I would come back
Ambiance and great food
Sweeping views of the ocean, food exquisite and evening lighting made for a perfect evening birthday dinner.
