Gidleigh Park Newton Abbot Reviews from The Last Year
Just incredible!
It is difficult to know where to start when describing the hotel. We stayed for four nights after spending a couple of days in London. We got picked up bu a very professional and friendly driver at the Exeted train station. It felt like a welcome comittee waited for us and made us feel at ease and welcome straight away. I find that the best hotels make sure that the luggage is brought to your room with a "we will take care of you luggage, dont worry" feeling, and the hotels that lack the last step to be truly great asks "do you want your luggage delivered to yor room". The difference being doing and not asking. This is one of the former places!!! Food was at the highest level for the entire stay and the staff had a warmth that in my oppinion you dont get at the city hotels Area itself was lovely and we had nice hikes and experiences each day. Thank you for creating this place and makin a great experience for me and my wife.
Place to stay in Dartmoor
Gidleigh Park is a really lovely hotel, very understated, not at all stuffy, very welcoming and with great food. The staff are very friendly and professional all at the same time. It is also in a fabulous location.
For a relaxing and elevated experience on the moor.. look no further
Fantastic staff, wonderful food and a splendid place to let the world pass you by, Gidleigh Park is the place for you. Great walks nearby, plenty of board games and try the afternoon tea. They were lovely with our 3 year old son and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. This was our second time and we will be back again soon.
Great Gidleigh
An extremely well run and delightful small hotel in a beautiful remote spot. The location in Dartmoor national park, overlooking an unspoilt river, is a nature-lover’s dream. With a fabulous restaurant to complement the superb staff.
Great location, great food and great service - one of the best hotels!
The hotel is in a great location for exploring Dartmoor. It is the perfect hotel for a special treat. The room was beautiful - The view was incredible! All of the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and very professional. The attention to detail with everything was faultless and made our stay very special. We would highly recommend a stay at Gidleigh Park - thank you
Just delightful
Amazing room, Amazing Food, spectacular grounds and surrounding walks. We visited during the winter months, it felt cosy and warm, the fires were gorgeous after a long walk. The team running camp were fabulous! Highly reccommend!
Best long weekend break
Cannot recommend Gidleigh Park enough. The proximity to Dartmoor, the food, the service and the room were all impeccable. We ate breakfast and dinner everyday there, and had tea and biscuits in the afternoon. We received an upgrade when we arrived which was stunning. Everything was perfect and we really relaxed and enjoyed our stay.
Favourite place!
Just lovely; serene, warm and friendly. Our favourite place. We minimooned here 6 years ago - love it! It has an atmosphere all of its own and the food was fantastic as was the wine. Very attentive service but not intrusive.
Already looking forward to another visit, hope it will be soon.
This hotel is so lovely as are the people who work here. Its great that there isn't high staff turnover so on repeat visits you remember them and they seem to remember you! The restaurant has improved greatly since our visit last year and the Michelin star is well deserved. absolutely loved the food and my husband and i both agree that we want to return just for the honey dessert. The margaritas are also a bit of an attraction. nearly as good as my husbands ! Highly recommend Gidleigh Park for a truly relaxing break in a beautiful part of Devon.
Lovely family weekend
Great weekend with young adult daughters and dogs staying in pavilion. Magical setting - even in Feb! will want to come back in summer. Food and service outstanding. Great personal service. Many thanks :)

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
