I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and I must say, it was an incredible experience. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The layout of the dining area was well thought out, providing both comfort and intimacy. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the food. The menu boasted a wide variety of options, each one more appetizing than the last. I opted for a mouthwatering steak, cooked to perfection and accompanied by delectable sides. The flavors were bold and the presentation was impeccable. Not only was the food exceptional, but the drink selection was equally impressive. The restaurant offered an extensive list of beverages, ranging from classic cocktails to artisanal creations. The attentive and knowledgeable staff guided me through the menu, ensuring I found the perfect pairing for my meal. When it comes to pricing, this restaurant offers great value for the quality of food and service provided. While not the cheapest option in town, the overall experience justifies the cost. I left the restaurant feeling satisfied in every way. The combination of delicious food, remarkable drinks, comfortable ambiance, and attentive staff made for an unforgettable dining experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in search of a truly outstanding culinary adventure.
I was very impressed with the service

Took a step back into some wonderful Las Vegas history.
We took a step back into a Las Vegas of yesteryear by dining at the Golden Steer. We were wowed by the attention to detail and the level of staff to ensure a great experience. We both had filet entrees and the Caesar salad. Steaks were cooked to perfection and their tableside prepared salad was also excellent. The history in the building oozes in every nook and booth. In reading about the restaurant's history I learned that Frank Sinatra used to dine with Sammy Davis Jr at the Golden Steer. It was apparently one of the few restaurants that allowed for integrated dining at the time. We also learned that the Steer was opened by a former St. Louis native. To this day they still feature 'toasted ravioli' as an appetizer, a St. Louis tradition.

Visited for my significant others birthday dinner.
We went without a reservation and we're surprisingly seated very quickly! For our appetizers, we ordered the French onion soup, and it ranks among the best ones that I've had. The Caesar salad was unfortunately pretty basic, and had too much dressing for my taste. The oysters were amazing and the perfect medium size. For the main course we got the tomahawk steak and it was well-seasoned and cooked perfectly for medium rare. The other couple we were with, their tomahawk was more on the medium side, so make sure to be specific when you order as it's a pricey meal. For sides, the whipped potatoes and the sautรฉed mushrooms were the favorites. We also had the macaroni and cheese and twice baked potato.Honorable mentions:Their bread is freshly made and to die for. I could've taken down 3 baskets of it on my own.The Escargots de Bourgogne were actually very well done. I'd never tried and have nothing to compare them to, but for a first timer, it was tasty! Our server was wonderful, she made recommendations and was very knowledgeable about the menu and assisted with some wine as well. Everyone we interacted with was super nice.I wouldn't order as much as I did this time because it was a ton of food for 4, and we all had an entirely new meal for leftovers. Leftovers were still 10/10!3/5 because for the price, I would've expected each part of the meal to blow me away, but the Caesar salad wasn't great, and the sides weren't anything to really brag about, they lacked a bit more of the flavor that I think was expected.

Wow! What an unassuming place! Driving by you would never think "hey, let's go there" from the way the outside looks (no disrespect). It just doesn't look like anything much. But walk in and you'll feel different :-)We came from L.A. to meet with a long time friend and his girlfriend that lives in Vegas. He's never been here and has lived in the area for 30 years lol...so all first timers :-)I made reservations for Sunday (3/12) night at 8:45pm and requested Frank Sinatra's booth. His pictures are all over, along with Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin (at least in the area we were sitting). FOOD...We started with escargot and oysters . The escargot is a house speacialty. Three out of the four of us have never had escargot before. Since it was a house of specialty and this a pretty reputable place, I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. It was much better than I expected. Delicious, actually. The garlic butter was outstanding. I even drank it and dipped bread in it after I took out the escargot lol. I don't think I would've ordered this but glad my friend did. We also ordered their other house specialty which is the Caesar salad made from scratch table side. The gentleman fixing the salad was super sweet and gave us the whole backstory of the Caesar salad and where it came from. It was quite interesting and the salad was delicious. We got two salads and he split it for the four of us and it was a perfect amount. We were getting a lot of food so the portion was excellent! For our entrรฉes, my husband and I split the petite fillet which is actually not that petite, it's 8 ounces. And we also got a lobster tail that I think was about 7 or 8 ounces ??? Really good size, big! I'm really glad that we split the steak and lobster. We also got their fries (yummy), baked potato with all the fixings on the side, sautรฉed mushrooms, and asparagus. Our friends also got steak and lobster. Everything was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their dinner! I'm not gonna go item by item and tell you about each of them, but they were all delicious! We were also celebrating my birthday, so they surprised me and brought a slice of cheesecake with the candle... Super sweet! To say we were stuffed is an understatement lol we were so f**king full!!!! But very happy :-)Their wine and liquor menu is extensive! There is a lot to choose from (see pics). SERVICE....Customer service was excellent! We were very happy with our server, and I'm so sorry, but I forget her name now... red shoulder length hair and had help from David (if I remember correctly his name lol) so sorry. She was attentive and timely. Very nice... And so was he. I would definitely come back here when in the Las Vegas are! all of us enjoyed our night...drank too much ate too much... I'd say it was a success :-) reservation highly recommended. They were booked! I made reservations one month in advance. And I'm glad I did because I got the booth that I wanted :-) Thanks for a great night!

I have 3 words to describe this restaurant.

Old old old school vegas, worth it if only for the ambience.
Of all things, the meatball appetizer stood out! Twice baked is go to side...

This dinner experience was so disappointing to us, we had such high expectations. We are locals, and had never eaten here, and after completing a big project, we decided to bring our spouses to celebrate at this iconic restaurant. We booked reservations nearly two months in advance for our group of six around times they could accommodate us. We were so excited and upon arrival were escorted **through the beautiful booth and table area rooms into a (too) brightly lit separate room with 2 large tables and our table of for six. This should have been the warning, and recommendations for you if you are dining there - unless you are a very large group that will be taking over the room with your noise and celebrations, do - not - agree to sit in this room. It felt like the odd overflow room, not the same ambiance at all, and was so loud with the large tables of 10 that we were with that we could not even talk or hear ourselves except for the person directly across from us. Food: Of course their food is great. (Many steak houses in Vegas are equally as good). Everyone had different items: Caesar salad (good, not exactly tableside prep, but oh well), French onion soup, one person ordered her filet butterflied and well done (I know, but it's her steak, her choice) and it was delivered well done, not even sliced/butterflied. Simply ignored how she ordered it. The Sea Bass was good but feedback was parts were very salty, and would not order it again. Those with other steaks were good. Sides Cream Corn, whipped potatoes, roasted veg, baked potato and twice baked potato, a great variety. Tasted all of them, all were good, would not order that twice baked again, it was least favorite surprisingly. Noise level in that room was so loud that one person in our group finally announced said she had to leave, the yelling voices at the big tables gave her a migraine, so we cut the dinner short, skipping dessert which (some of us) were looking forward to. Service: We had asked about splitting checks upon sitting down, discreetly, and the waiter said one check only, but he would help us in charging our cards for what we got, so it would easily work out. We found that this is also in large big print on the menu. That felt perfectly fine, but then he dropped the check off and when we asked if we are telling him what we had, he said we should figure it out "unless we needed help with our math" which felt a little demeaning, so we spent more time sorting all that out so they could charge our cards appropriately. We were only 3 couples: doing 3 checks would have been simpler than what ultimately had to happen. Other than that, the service was very attentive with drinks, water, etc. Walking back into the main rooms to leave, you could actually hear music, and an awesome hum of a great supper club establishment and we felt a completely different vibe, which we did not have in that overflow room. Our server overheard us discussing this and he said "You should have told me, we would have moved you!" Our thought was - we were seated, starting to eat, and it when it got loud we were supposed to ask to move?? It was hard enough to get a table there reserved in the first place. That thought wouldn't have crossed our minds. He made us feel like it was our fault, we walked out feeling even worse.I mentioned outside to the group that if I came back I would like to experience the ambiance and service in the main rooms. The other couples replied that they saw no reason to even go back - it's expensive and there are better experiences and great food at better prices everywhere in Las Vegas, so this should be left to the tourists who are always going to go. Sorry for the long review, I feel that things might have been different overall, if we'd been lucky enough to get a different location for dining here. Being a fairly small table in a big group table room was not our luck in Vegas.

You want the best here it is
Well if you want the best steaks and seafood this is the place. We had the French onion soup and wedge salad along with steak and lobster with a side order of Alaskan King Crab, oh yah we also had for sides a baked potato and mushroomsโฆ. To say I was stuffed was an understatementโฆ it was the wifeโs birthday in a week so they gave her a slice of cheesecakeโฆ. All I can say is WOW, great service great food great experience.

Food was standard fancy fare.
Service was pretentious and rushed. Hostess was dismissive. Salmon was overly sauced. So many better places in Vegas.

Caesar salad was great
Had the tableside Caesar salad and it was great. The tableside presentation is quite good and boy is that dressing garlicy. Ordered the fillet minion and it was very tender and cooked to perfection. No room for dessert. Had a booth and that made the ambiance extra special

Wonderful Anniversary Dinner
As we arrived, we were greeted with a great smile and a hearty hello. They knew who we were from our reservation. We were here to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary and had requested the Elvis Booth but were told that it is reserved for larger parties which is completely understandable. Walking through the dining room you could feel the history. We were seated in the Holly Madison booth which was very spacious, comfortable and had a wonderful view of the beautiful room. As our server Bryant came to the table, he brought two complimentary glasses of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. He introduced himself and gave us a brief history on the restaurant. If those walls could talk! He took our drink orders and promptly returned with the Perfect Manhattan and a GG tonic with lime. Both were so tasty. The Perfect Manhattan, with large cube, was perfect. We ordered the Large Seafood Stuffed Mushroom Caps to start. The seafood stock should be served in a cup as I would like to drink it. ;) The fresh tableside prepared Caesar Salad was crisp and light. I had the Petite Filet Mignon medium rare and my wife had the Jumbo Western Australian Lobster Tail. The steak was excellent and prepared perfectly. The lobster was so thick and delectable! The timing of the meal was nice and not rushed at all. We skipped the sides for a second round of drinks instead. :} We had no room for desert but would love to try the Bananas Foster next time. And there will be a next time! Throughout the meal Bryant was on point. We also had several other servers making sure all our needs were met, the table was clean between courses. Such a fantastic experience and we look forward to celebrating our 20th Anniversary with the Golden Steer this year!!!

Food was delicious and service was great! It's about 10 min off the strip via car but definitely worth it.
We flew into Vegas from Seattle to dine here for my 43rd birthday. Our dinner reservation was at 7:15pm and we were running behind, however I did call to inform the staff of this. Upon arrival, everyone was so kind, courteous and accommodating. We were still able to get a table with very minimal wait time. Our waiter, Bryon, was so friendly and informative, as this was our first visit. I tried the Oysters on the half shell for my first time and was instantly hooked. The table side Cesar Salad was one of the best Iโve ever had and it was a pleasure to witness it being prepared so precisely. For our entree, we ordered the Tomahawk for 2 with mac and cheese, twice baked potato and the jumbo Australian lobster. Everything was deliciously seasoned to perfection and flavorful. Lastly, the complimentary slice of cheesecake for my birthday was a sweet and creamy unexpected gesture. Thank You to all the staff at Golden Steer Las Vegas. This one night in town was definitely worth it. Your hospitality was welcomed and very much appreciated. We felt like โregularsโ from start to finish. And an honorable mention to the lovely bartender for recommending the il Fauno di Arcanum wine.

We ate here tonight.
12 folks from Indiana flew in to celebrate a birthday and 2 local residents. We had a great meal with wonderful service. Birthday girl got her wish to sit in the Elvis booth with 5 others and the rest of us were going to be in another room, but because of the great manager and staff they were able to move us into the same room as the birthday girl. We want to thank everyone for their consideration and great service.

The food, ambience, history of the restaurant, and service were absolutely incredible! New favorite restaurant in Vegas!!

We had the French Onion Soup , 22 oz.
Rib Eye Steak with Bone-In, Fresh Asparagus, Vegas Largest Baked Potato and the Spumoni Bomba. Everything was seasoned so well and full of flavor. The service was impressive. We received constant attention and the restaurant was busy. A for sure return spot when we are in Vegas

My hubby found this on tiktok and decided to check it out.
We werent able to make reservations but we showed up right when it opened and they were able to accommodate date us. All the staff was welcoming and the ambiance was nice. We tried the toasted ravioli and calamari for appetizers. It was yummy and not leave a bite behind. They make ceasar salad from scratch at tableside which was delicious. The tomahawk definitely filled us up along with the sides. Banana fosters for dessert is a must and they make this tableside as well. Overall, outstanding experience

I went here for my first time.
The ambiance and service were great. The food was not. Average at best. We had two different salads, two different steaks, an appetizer, a side, and one dessert. I make better steaks at home. My cocktail was good. Very expensive meal. Not worth it. Go for the atmosphere and order very little.
We went here for my wife's birthday. We each had a cocktail, Salad( prepared tableside, was very good}, shrimp cocktail(large& crisp) ,escargots(delicious) ,petite filet( fantastic and cooked to perfection), and large baked potato. The restaurant was very attractive, and the service was top notch. While not a cheap experience, this is the best steakhouse I've experienced. I cannot rate anyplace above this!

This restaurant runs like a well oiled machine! This is how every restaurant should be run! The service is outstanding, everyone knows what they're doing. Shared the bone-in ribeye and it was probably the best ribeye I've had! Our table shared the whipped potatoes, sautรฉed mushrooms, creamed corn and creamed spinach which were all delicious. We all had the Caesar salad which was good but NOT worth the $19/salad. Asked the hostess that takes the payments about the history of the restaurant and it is very interesting!

In contention for the best meal of my life.
.. certainly my favorite steakhouse I have dined at.Everything I ate was absolutely incredible. Photos included.Dined on a Saturday night at 7:30pm. Had a reservation, and when I entered it was a short 10 minute or so wait to get seated.Everything was incredible-- atmosphere is very old Vegas. Decor and feel is one of a kind. Wait staff is great as well. Many of them have been employed here for decades.Only notes I had were that the service was a little slow (we were hidden in a corner though, and it was a busy Saturday night) , they were sold out of the "Chicken of the Angels" dish I originally wanted, so opted for the chicken parmesan instead-- though nothing second rate about it. "Medium" here was much more rare for the filet than experienced elsewhere. However, the photos included are worth a thousand words. The food tasted even better than it looks. I will certainly be back next time I am in Vegas for a special occasion or with company.

What do you want me to say? Uhm.
..it's pretty awesome. Vegas' oldest steakhouse...that has all the old school feel and appeal. And the food is fairly top notch...you won't be disappointed. But you would be wise, to let someone else t the table....grab the check..lol. We started off with the French onion soup. A very good, mild tasting soup and all what (you) would expect. The table side Cesar salad...pretty good, but a bit on the mild side of flavor punch. Seems their made at every table...so you may as well have the production of it all....The tomahawk ribeyes are flying out of tue kitchen like crazy. A prime cut of meat that does hit the mark for marbling and overall flavor. We added the butter topper...to ensure we had a healthy caloric intake in the evening! The creamed spinach....we had come to the table...though we (did not) order. I couldn't eat that one...it was sure an intense spinach taste in this night. The creamed corn. The waiter said it was very sweet...and he wasn't kidding. It was a different good. And actually gave a break, and cut the fat taste from the steak we had. We had a desert...don't quite recall what it was...but it was well worth it...for the bit or two I tried. G O...GO! You'll be glad you did....

Disappointment with dinner
We've been to golden steer several times before, but this time well, it wasn't that great. Had to send my steak back to get it cooked correctly. I was gonna send it back twice but was already so disappointed in the cooking. I didn't want to push it. And I'm sorry, for $70, I expected perfection, silly me. Then, we saw the bill. I didn't realize the Caesar salad was $20/person. That's on me. But for two of us, steak, salad, and 1 side a piece, almost $300 with the tip. And we only had iced tea!! Next time, we will skip the salad, split a side, have water, and hopefully, the steak will be cooked right!
If you you are a fan of vintage Las Vegas then this is the restaurant for you. I have been going to the Golden Steer for many, many years and they have NEVER disappointed me with their service and food.
We went here for our 29th anniversary. It was a Monday night and was still very busy, which is generally a good sign. we started off at the bar and waited about 30 minutes until our table opened up. We did have reservations. Still not too bad. We ordered oysters for an appetizer and a tomahawk steak for two for the main course. We each had a couple of mixed drinks as well. The drinks were really good. The oysters were extremely small and the soup was excellent. Staff were accessible and pleasant. The biggest beef I had was that the tomahawk steak was tough, cold, and inconsistently cooked. Not sure how a medium rare steak was rare on one end and medium on the other. I put a piece in my mouth but had to spit it into my napkin after a while because I couldn't chew and swallow it. I then cut the precut pieces into much smaller pieces. After paying for the meal, we left. I had taken a picture of the bill because I send pictures of our trips to a friend who can't travel. When I sent it to her she was curious why we had eaten four caesar salads. We had been presented with the wrong bill but I hadn't paid attention. I tried calling the next day after they opened but they don't answer their phone or respond timely to messages. So I drove back to the restaurant in vegas traffic. I went in and spoke to the host and told him about my bill. He was very nice and we figured out that they had presented the wrong bill but had charged me correctly in the end. I just felt that after dropping $400 and change on dinner/drinks that it would have been better. Maybe it was just a one off because many people seem to like it.
My wife and I visited for our second time in January of 2023 and we were not disappointed. We ordered the steak and lobster for two with a Ceasar salad prepared tableside and a could of side dishes that come with that deal. I believe our servers name was Carlos and he was just great, taking time to explain the specials on the menu and just being all around friendly. Our food was all spectacular just as it was the first time that we visited back in January 2022. I'm sure that we will make the Golden Steer a must every time that we visit Las Vegas. It isn't the cheapest date, the bill was just under 300 dollars for the two of us, but for a special occasion I see no problem spending that amount of money for the experience. It's just a wonderful place, with the supper club vibe, and the dedicated booths just adding to the charm.
Amazing couldn't imagine anything better. The ceaser made at the table was great there was numerous waiters would love to go again!
