Thanks mom
Just be aware this is a vegetarian restaurant. It is a very good restaurant, but only if you like vegetarian food. Jackfruit tacos, 8/10 . Good guacamole and salsa also nice margaritas. Live music is a nice touch

Don’t come here unless you are ready to experience the best food imaginable. Brunch was amazing. The spices and the preparation of all of the food were amazing. The chilaquiles were flavorful, crunchy and rich. The French toast was buttery and gooey. Everyone had a great meal, from a 4 year to a 64 year old. Only one of us is vegan but we were all very happy!
Be the first to ReplyAN Honest, organic, Vegan Mexican Fiesta!
Very down to earth establishment in the mission district. Compared to the WeHo/LA version of Gracias Madre then this is a bit of the opposite. The crowd is not insta-famous, the decor is not one worthy of a trendy hotel and finally the food is not plated in a very honest (read not very fancy) way. What I do love is that it's all organic all vegan. Unfortunately the Jack-fruit tacos were super salty (the Jack-fruit that is). the chips were delish. The salsa too. The refried beans also on point. Would visit again for sure.

We looked SO forward to this place, but left feeling quite disappointed. Food was brought out very, very quick - was it just reheated? Had the enchiladas, but they seemed to only contain mashed potato. We had starter, main, & dessert, but from walking in, having our meal.. we were walking out the door 40 minutes later. We felt, & indeed the whole experience felt ultra rushed. Doubt we’d return
Be the first to ReplyRidiculously overpriced food but good jackfruit tacos
Really overpriced; $20 for a small basket or ordinary salty chips with a small thing of guacamole, mole and pineapple salsa, $22 for 3 tacos with avocado, $7 for lemonade, plus a $4.50 extra charge supposedly to cover increased labor costs. And service slow despite not many people there. Weekend prices considerably higher for lunch than during the week. Not at all busy.

I am a carnivore at heart. My daughter recommended this place by saying "your arteries will thank you". Well, I am astonished with the wonderful meal we had. Everything from the appetizers to the dessert was extremely flavorful and delicious. My Vegan experience was eye opening and gratifying. "Thank You Mother" which of course is the name of the restaurant. You have set the bar high and I will try other vegan restaurants hoping to have another delicious meal.

A great all vegan restaurant with very friendly staff. The food was very good and tasty. A plus for the outdoor patio. Overall a very genuine atmosphere
Be the first to ReplyGreat Vegan Mexican
We got a great recommendation for this place, looking for good veggie choices for my wife. Ordered takeout online through hyperflyer.com, for it is cheaper than other delivery apps (cauz on Hyperflyer one actually orders directly from the restaurants so there’s no markup on menu items by other delivery apps and lower delivery fees).
How could one imagine this vegan Mexican this great? They have a super interesting, delicious menu that left me craving more. This is definitely at the top of my list of “must try” restaurants in San Francisco.
Good vegan Mexican food
Huge portions, good service. Enjoyed the food, ordered the stuffed pepper special. Love the fact that they have a ton of good vegan food!
Be the first to ReplyPerfect place for a vegan eater
Went for diner. Very popular place, service was fast, we didn't wait too long. I've heard the wait time can be long during rush hour, so just be aware of that.
Excellent vegan food, incredibly tasty and generous portions.
The tacos were out of the world, very good roasted peppers. Every dish is made with quality ingrediens.
Highly recommend this place, definitely worth the visit and your money!
Vegan and Organic Mexican
Fantastic all vegan, all organic, super wholesome and flavourful Mexican cuisine! I actually used to work here many years ago and I can absolutely say this is an extremely ethical place that cares deeply about their staff, guests, and of course making the planet a better and more sustainable place. A lot of their food is grown locally at the Be Love farm. I returned to SF recently and was able to bring my hubby here (after telling him about it for years!) and he was blown away by the food! The Torta (Mexican sandwich) was fantastic, as were both the Jackfruit taco and cauliflower taco. Their margaritas are a must! I remember their Peach Cobbler was phenomenal!! It was not on the menu during my last visit. They did have a mixed fruit cobbler, which was also very nice, but I hope they also bring back that Peach Cobbler!! Was happy to see they were taking every COVID precaution as of August 2020. Some outdoor seating was available and we had a lovely time! I usually see this place with a massive line everyday, but during COVID we were able to be seated straight away and had a fabulous meal with great service.
Be the first to ReplyCool plant based place - maybe we had off night but still we had a great time
Happy to find a 100% plant based restaurant. When we had an opportunity to share a special occasion w/ family we were excited that our niece suggested it. Looking forward to trying this place.
There are a few other of these restaurants in Cali and this is the first one that we have tried. Located in the mission (what better place for mex) it has a very good feel. We took public transp and met the others (5 of us and we had a reservation at 8:30 pm). The place was very busy - always a good sign. We waited for probably about 15-20 minutes for a table (not bad), were seated, got menus and ordered drinks. Extensive menu and we were looking forward to trying out lots of stuff to share.
Ordered some drinks (full bar) and we were ready to order food as well. Of course we had to start w/ guac. Ordered some appetizers, enchiladas, tacos and kept a menu just in case we were still hungry. Drinks came quickly w/ some chips & salsa and the guac came a little later. Drinks were good - we were having fun talking, laughing and just catching up. After a while, the other food started coming - a new place every few minutes. The food was good (not outstanding but good) but the portions were kinda on the small side.
Ordered more drinks and then more food. This was the last time we saw our waitress for a while. The runners would bring the food and we asked about our drinks - they said would be out soon. Finally after we had eaten all the food, our drinks came. I don't know about you but I like to eat when I drink. We ordered a couple of deserts (had some sweet tooth there) - that were ok. These came after a while but like I said we were having a good time. Asked for check and later got up to get a waitress to get our check.
Overal 3.5 - rounded upl: love the place, food could've been better (seemed fresh just needed some more seasoning etc), service could've been better (maybe just too busy??), and portions were on the smaller side for the price. The dinner company is what made it stand out.
With all the good reviews, I would try this again as like I said maybe we got an off nite.
Great atmosphere, delicious food
Gracias Madre is on Mission, far from the best part of town but the were queues outside the door for a table.
This is a vegan Mexican restaurant and everything on the menu looked delicious, if only they had a tasting menu as I wanted to try everything.
On top of that, the portions were huge so ended up with a small plate of delicious cauliflower and a dessert.
The staff were friendly and helpful too.
I will return next time I'm in San Francisco as I really want to try a few more dishes.
