Love this restaurant !
Been coming for years now. Every time I do the food and drinks are always amazing.

Felt at home.
Portion sizes just right.
Had wonderful service to match.
Super friendly and attentive.
Only downside was that the front door being constantly open the wind and cold came in - and at times it was uncomfortably chilly and noisy.
Otherwise a very good breakfast.

Lovely weekend brunch with the whole family!

We were here to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Busy and buzzy place. Made arrangements to change our seating to a larger table of 12 people when we asked on short notice with no fuss. Best meal we’ve had during our trip! Innovative and fresh. Lots of small plates for sharing makes it fun and an opportunity to taste a range of delicious brunch dishes.

The avocado toasts and eggs were a particular highlight. We were really happy with our visit. Special thanks to Sonia who is an absolute rockstar, so professional and a master of anticipating what guests might need. Made every effort to ensure we had the best time and were all looked after. Not a single moment did we feel rushed to order, to return our table or leave with a queue waiting just outside the restaurant. Danke schön!

Fantastic pancakes. Nice location. Laughably bad service.

Great concept with tasty food and buzzing ambience let down by brain dead staff who are slow, despondent and lazy (on 1 occasion on an evening when it wasn’t even busy!). It’s like they’re TRYING to be utterly incompetent and rude at the same time. Never been to a place that has so many staff, and has the most disorganised service experience. It’s like the London bus.... 4 people will come, one after the other, asking for your order. But it will be forgotten twice. You’ll then not see someone for an hour. So bad it’s actually humorous.

This was happening to literally every table around us. It became clear that you had to be the one to call a waitress over to you, for a menu, to order, to get condiments, the empty plates taken away, another drink, the bill etc. A woman at the table next to us had to actually get up and go to the bar to complain several times, including when she was waiting so long on her food and also hadn't received her coffees. The staff were just strolling around or chatting among themselves. Head in the clouds. We actually had to laugh at how unbelievable it was. Change the pompous Greek manager, train your staff and up your game and I'll give you 5 stars.

The food was very late for one of the tables next to us. As the manager told them he's trying to get it sorted, he started saying in very loud voice to them "you're looking at me like I've done something terrible! I told you I'm working on it, what more can I do?!". Very embarrassing and unprofessional. Then he came back to them saying "your bill is on us because THEY screwed up the order". Nice gesture but terrible to blame your staff for the issue, take some ownership and apologise! The staff seemed quite disengaged and I understand why. This ridiculously bad manager is completely the wrong choice for such a busy spot, in an upscale area. Low staff morale and poor training which is evident to the customers as lack of welcome or even concern. The waiter assigned to us early this morning was also pretty rude sadly. We understand you are very stressed but sort out your unresolved anger issues on your own time. Pleasant food and fair prices though for the area. I'll visit again in a couple of weeks but if service doesn’t improve quickly, it'll be the last time for us I'm afraid.

Second time with poor service and never again

I've been to Granger & Co about 5 times now. Each time the food is so tasty and fresh however, the past two times I've been the service has been non-existent.
I don't like leaving bad reviews but for a restaurant that is considered quite nice I can't believe how poorly the staff behave.
When we arrived, we put our names down on the waitlist to get a table. Wait time was 1.45hrs by the time it got to 2.15hrs we had to go back to the restaurant to ask where our table was. The guy on the booking system just frowned and said, "I don't know why you didn't get a text"
Then, after being seated we realised our table was incredibly unstable as one of the rubber feet was missing underneath. A waitress came over and spun it around and warned us not to lean on the unstable side. Not even offering to put a wedge underneath.
We sat for a while waiting to be served and had to call over a waiter to take a drinks and starters order. He was rude, didn't introduce himself and barely looked us in the eye.
When starters were served, we had no plates or cutlery and had to request them.
Then, another random waitress took away our plates before we were even finished eating and we had to call someone to take our order for the mains.
No new cutlery for mains.
The only saving grace of this experience was one of the managers who we called over to serve us a couple of times. He was lovely and knowledgeable and even opened a bottle of wine to sell us by the glass when it's normally sold by the bottle.
My experience previous to this was in the King's Cross site and it was probably worse. Until they start to properly train their staff or hire better workers, I won't be returning unfortunately which is a shame as the food is great.

Food gets overshadowed by abysmal service

First off all, the wait times are bonkers. They should have a reservation system in place.
Secondly, they got my order wrong and were arrogant when I asked for my order to be corrected and replaced. No apology.
And finally, our waitress was quite sluggish, almost comatose, hard to get her attention. Then later a different male waiter just plonked our coffees on the table without asking if we needed sugar and just walked off while I was trying to call him and didn't bother looking back.
Not the same post pandemic.
Team changed completely.
Not in a good way.

Chaotic and rude. Massively overrated.

Unwelcoming door staff who behave as if they are gatekeepers to the Ritz. Arbitrary queuing rules inconsistently enforced. High tourist turnover means nobody seems to try very hard to provide a good quality experience. Desperately poor service- very pushy and snappy waiter who seemed to have no people skills or understanding that people need to take their time and decide what they want for themselves. Poor atmosphere; loud music; we were crammed on to a table at the side with people constantly rushing past and knocking into us while we were eating. The waiting staff seems rather inexperienced and miserable, and it took ages to get attention and get my order taken. Their level of experience could be demonstrated by the example of opening and serving a bottle of wine. Heard very good things about this place, in reality it was however a total disappointment. They scammed us. I asked for tap water and they gave me mineral still and charged me without telling me...who pays £4 for water? There was also an optional service charge which the waiter added to the contactless payment without my knowledge, making me feel too uncomfortable to request it to be taken off. I did ask for the GM's details to provide feedback but no one got back to me so here we are. This place has huge potential if only the service and management were as good as those scrambled eggs...and friendly!

Past its glory days

Shockingly poor and unfriendly service, waited over 45 minutes for our breakfast. They'd clearly packed out the tables without enough staff to serve everyone. Service was therefore VERY slow and chaotic. One poor waitress running too many tables and four managers wandering around aimlessly and chatting behind us. Nobody seemed to know what they were doing. The manager serving us could not understand English and therefore discuss allergens. He was borderline rude too. Some drinks never arrived, some food never arrived unless chased up multiple times. No one even asked if we wanted tap water, butter or ketchup. A joke to be honest. Disappointing after so many previously good visits.

Used to be a friendly neighbor hood gem now just full of rude people and average dishes

I go to granger often I live a minute away from it and each time I’ve gone lately the last few months it’s become worse and today was the last time I will dine there or have anyone I know dine there. We got glassware with lipstick marks and stains when we asked kindly for them to be changed our waiter just looked annoyed that we pointed out they were dirty. Like how dare we ask for clean glasses.

We ordered bread as a starter that I specifically mentioned which came after the main dishes. My mothers main dish came ten minutes after my hotcakes while the hotcakes came without syrup and by the time we got a hold off one waiter to which we very kindly explained I need the syrup, we are waiting for my moms dish and our starter bread never came my hotcakes were already cold. She then passed us to another waiter without a resolution to whom we had to explain kindly our missing items and my missing syrup. This person then passed us to another waiter who came to our table to ask what the problem is by then we had explained to two different people and the attitude of the manager asking what’s the problem was disrespectful and rude. By this time we still had no syrup and no bread.

I kindly said I would like my hot cakes renewed as they are now cold I would like to eat them hot. The manager just looked at me turned away without answering and leaving. Then asked the other waiter if I was telling the truth that I had to wait for syrup. So implying I’m a liar… By the way still no syrup. Still no apology.

It was my moms last day in london and o took her to granger as it was a trusted friendly place for me but now it’s just embarrassing.

Then we waited again a while to get another waiter asked them to remove the hotcakes and we will pay for the other things and leave because I did not want to be inside that place anymore. No one brought us the bill: the manager was very quick to print the bill when he saw us standing and walking towards the door though and after all this rudeness and disrespect in front of the door and my mother the manager said I have a bad attitude and that I didn’t let him talk… which was a lie as the manager turned away and walked away to talk to a waiter after I explained the issue rather than stay and talk to me or apologise. So who was the one with the bad attitude and also just bad service period.

I work in hospitality and have been for years the behaviour of granger is rude and disrespectful. And telling your customers they have a bad attitude after the maltreatment you gave them is unacceptable.

Oh also we waited 40 min for this disaster and had to pay for this torture. Not worth it plenty of nice places in london that don’t ruin your day especially with your mom.

Never had such an odd experience in London

This place isn't hugely different from other trendy breakfast spots in central London , that is to say you queue too long, pay too much money, and get an ok meal, both in terms of quality and portion. Was greeted by an unfriendly host who was unable to raise a smile and informed us we could not give our disabled three year old a pre-bought sandwich in his buggy as we waited to be served despite explaining he was only three and hungry. As Australians we certainly didn't detect any sunshine or laidback attitude here. Aside from the entitled rude and inexperienced staff, not a bad place to meet friends for a weekend brunch. I queued for over a hour and dropped a fair bit of money on our meals. I don't pay service charge if service is bad and not friendly, so I asked the waitress to remove it from the bill. Instead of removing it the manager came over and questioned us rudely about why we wanted to remove it, so I explained that I have never paid for bad service and thought nothing more of it. He shook his head and left. Another manager- they seemed to have more than waitstaff- returned a minute later with the new bill and enquired a further time about the SC, she then went on to explain that the staff are paid minimum wage and that if the meal was ok we should pay SC, as if to try and shame me into paying, then stormed off too and didn't return... Literally did not return, so we took the bill and paid at the till with the overworked waiter. It isn't cool that your staff think it's ok to lecture customers- some of whom have queued for over an hour to eat at your establishment- about service charge. You charge over £15 for what is essentially eggs on toast, your staff should be flipping at you for not paying a fair wage and not pestering customers to supplement their low earnings.

It used to be very good, not anymore.

We have been coming here since it opened, and always loved it. Last weekend we were greeted by the surly and incredibly rude host after an hour wait outside in the rain, then grudgingly shown to a dirty table, but not given a menu. Other customers were holding their hands up to order, and being ignored. The new staff are not very friendly, and don't seem to understand the concept of good customer service. All looking disengaged, easily overwhelmed, inexperienced or simply incompetent, inattentive....the service was at best impersonal, very, very slow, but often verging on unfriendly. They messed my order up but we were in a rush so I ate it anyway. Then the grumpy waiter overcharged us. It really soured the experience. Asked to pay the bill to two different people, he only remembered when we put our coats on.

Saturday brunch - very average

We loved the venue (Kings Cross), buzzing and friendly, with the table being ready quickly following taking our details and calling us back.
Service was good, as expected, but the food was very average. Hot smoked salmon with sourdough, poached eggs, avo etc. It was underseasoned, bland and boring. We could have done this better at home. We felt it lacked any love and flare - just assembled at speed from the warming pans. On the pricey side for such an average dish. Everything that was stated on the menu was on the plate, but that was it.

Lovely ambiance and energy - great spot for lunch

Check out this energetic brunch spot!! The host was so kind; the yellow collared shirt uniform really captures the bright and cheery mood of this restaurant even on a rainy day. My pal Mia ordered the corn fritters and the black sesame oat latte; the black sesame oat latte was well… unique. Definitely an interesting choice if you’re looking to try a drink you can’t get most places. For myself, I ordered the almond milk chai latte and the ‘fresh Aussie’ for lunch. This order hit the spot! Enough fuel to continue on with our shopping and exploring!! We intended to come for brunch but the menu switched at 12 and we sat down at 12:15. Oh well, the lunch menu was still great!

Didn’t quite hit the mark

Granger & Co is usually a great place for breakfast meetings....lively but not too hectic, just enough atmosphere for a light buzz. Everything is excellent quality, simple and done well. Delicious scrambled eggs. Fantastic latte. Shame there was no space for the pastries, they looked divine. But the service today wasn't as great. No warm welcome. The waiter could not understand us and the ordering became ridiculously laborious. Serious communication problems, if you can't understand what your customers are saying how can you serve them properly?....Subsequently, many mistakes were made. The breakfast arrived with no set table. Wrong drinks. Sides forgotten. He picked up the plates while we were still eating. Removed my drink while I still had some left. He made no effort to engage with us and was quite abrupt. And finally the bill had incorrect items from the adjacent tables. Have been here many times before - always had a great time and impeccable friendly service to match. Standards have slipped, a real shame. Would probably still recommend - but with reservations.

Clueless

On paper this is a great place with a nice menu. In reality it is somewhat different.

This restaurant is another prime example of The Emperors New Clothes in London.....a place that poses as this chic, modern and superb eatery but somehow lacks what the exterior displays and subsequently pulls the wool over too many people's eyes.

For starters it's way too overpriced for what you receive in return; charging £16.00 for tea and eggs plus service is just daylight robbery.

There is an abundance of staff but a complete lack of product knowledge, customer service, diligence or efficiency.
We waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order despite the restaurant being half full on a sunday morning and us being situated in the centre of the room desperately trying to get attention. Yet they kept ignoring us. The food came before drinks and we found ourselves always sitting with empty glasses or plates for half an hour intervals.

The food here is still very nice; the service however is now a joke. You feel like the staff are doing you a favour by serving you then they have the cheek to add service charge to the bill. The manager was rude and unbothered. Staff didn't care, we were too timid to ask them to take off the discretionary 12.5%, but they definitely didn't earn it. Wouldn't return, I can smash avocado myself for free and make better use of my time.

Bad service, poor management, Christmas brunch ruined

I wish I had read these reviews before coming here. If you can ignore the poor management and service and frustrating long wait for anything then this is the place for you.

Food: As a comparison, the quality and quantity is poorer compared to its other branches, but overall the food is standard. The coffee was not good and brought out cold - twice.
Service: Not good. Some waiting staff were inexperienced and inattentive. Some not very friendly and borderline rude. All completely lost, stressed out, arrogant and in over their heads. Lacking basic training.
Atmosphere: Crowded, cramped seating, very loud. Unfortunately, you can feel that some of the waiting staff are aware of their unhelpful and ‘unpleasant’ management and stressful environment which brings the atmosphere down. Our waiter revealed most of the service charges don’t go to waiting staff and all cash tips are being ‘pooled’ by management. Appalling practices. Explains why the service is so bad. Definitely, just a place to have a quick bite and move on.
Management: Witnessed obnoxious managers tell off staff in front of myself and other customers for minor issues. The way they spoke and tone of voice was condescending and rude. There was a complete lack of social etiquette, basic respect and professionalism. Suggest attending training courses on customer service, the role of a manager and also how to treat everyone with kindness.
I’m glad they have other branches and many alternatives around as it’s very unlikely I will return to this one. Complete shambles.

Wow! First time using this website/app. It was almost hard to believe the quality of customer service I received as soon as I posted my offer. A private chat forum with me and the person helping me find the best option. Constant communication and a wonderful experience using Appointment Trader. I'm surprised it took me this long to find AT but this will now be my GO TO for hard to get restaurant reservations. It was like having my own private concierge.

Last minute Pujol rezo in Mexico City

Last minute trip to Mexico City for Art Week. Busiest weekend in CDMX and AT came through and got us into Pujol. On Friday night … for four people! Amazing. I couldn’t believe it. Highly recommend this app.

My first experience using AT was awesome and the AT support saved the day! When my booking transfer initiated two days earlier but didn't complete by the day of the reservation, AT was able to expedite the transfer and confirm a table at Call Me Gaby in Miami Beach. Boss confirmed an excellent experience when he arrived and no issues to report. Thanks, AT! I will definitely be back and thank you very much for your prompt assistance!

This app is incredible!! I got a last minute rsvp for 7 people at Delilah’s on a busy Friday night…a mission we thought was impossible. I will always rely on this app when open table fails me!

I highly recommend this service. Reservations sell out in minutes as they become available at this restaurant. I was able to get a table at the exact time we wanted, on a peak weekend night. Amazing!

I just stumbled upon this site and within 24 hours of posting a bid for an impossible to get table at Delilah (on a holiday weekend no less), my reservation was confirmed! So easy to use and it worked flawlessly. Brilliant!

Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?

Best AnswerIt can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

Best AnswerYour bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

Best AnswerHey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Best AnswerMostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

What happens if my bid expires unanswered?

Best AnswerHey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
