So devastated this delicious restaurant is closed when I stopped by on 2/19! I still had $$$ in my pre-loaded member card hence the 1-star. In my past visits this place was a 5-star spot!

Yesterday I stopped off here out of curiosity, I ordered the Chongqing Chicken and the Shrimp with Calamari.Chongqing Chicken: Pretty good, had good heat, not too oily, the chicken was crispy and tasty.Iron Pot Shrimp & Calamari: good heat, a little too oily.Service: The service was fine, no complaintsPrice: On the pricier side, one broccoli dish was $20.Overall: I wanted to give it 3 and a half stars, it's not bad. But it's not great either, It's good though.

My favorite sichuan spot! All their dishes and packed with spice and flavor. The spice level is customizable so you can adjust it to your tolerance. The waitress was very nice and recommended dishes to us. Here's what I ordered1. Mr. and Mrs smith- very large serving and is a must get if you are a fan of beef tripe and stomach 2. Mapo Tofu- i usually don't like tofu but this went very well with some rice! 3. Fried Pork belly- the one non spicy dish we ordered for the night. a bit oily but pairs well with rice 4. Guan fu dry pot chicken- comes with bits of potato and onions. my favorite dish of the night 5. Spicy fried shrimp- i would prefer if the shell was already peeled but delicious nonetheless 6. Tang yuan- some dessert to end the night. Tasted like the ones i get from the supermarket but those are delicious so I can't complain
Be the first to ReplyDelish! Very authentic Sichuaness food.
Highly recommend if you are in the neighborhood.

We ordered razor clam and fish w/ picked cabbage, both dishes have good flavors, but very heavy on numbing pepper.
Be the first to ReplyFood is really good and authentic.
The spice levels on the menu feel accurate mostly but the spice level 2 sometimes feels mild and I'm not sure if that's my spice tolerance or spice 2 is just mild? Portion sizes are really good which explains the pricing. The service leaves something to be desired speed wise when it came to getting the check we waited a while to be able to flag someone down to get the check but also for them to run our cards.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food, quite spicy but it's very good.
The waiter and waitress are really nice and sweet as well! You can definitely go with all the recommendations, they are all real good! Gonna come again.

This is a solid Sichuan spot in the heart of Flushing Main Street. I had to see this NY times highly recommended was worthy of its praised review : nytimes.com/2017/08/01/d…We ordered the following:-razor clam with green pepper in home sauce: a great cold starter, which is actually not spicy, but numbing flavor profile. Think Mala, without the La (spicy) part. -Endive sprout salad in home sauce***: a must order vegetable dish for the table, it serves as a palette cleanser that compliments the hot spiciness of the rest of the Sichuan oil covered dishes. Very refreshing!-Guan Fu-style bean jelly salad: Great variation of the Liang Pi dish. Similar flavor and texture profile. Packs quite the kick.-Homemade roasted fish (Sea Bass)***: The coup-de-grace of the meal. I absolutely loved this piece of fried fish, smothered in green hot peppers and Sichuan hot oil. Ordering a side of white rice is a must!- Spicy oil wonton: Huge silky smooth pork stuffed wontons, in a bowl of spicy oil broth. Definitely appeased my wonton craving for the week!Overall, the service was on-point and always attentive. This place definitely gives its rival next door (Szechuan Mountain House) a run for its money.I would definitely go here again, to try out the rest of the items on its vast menu.
Be the first to ReplyI had heard that this place was good; NY times review etc.
But between the pandemic, and how Sichuan food is not quite as 'in fashion' as it used to be, i went to a nearly empty restaurant that was closing by 10 p.m. on a Friday night. Never the less, I had some of the best, most sophisticated, and authentic Sichuan food I have ever had in New York. I would suggest that you run, run , run to this place for some great food. JUST OUTSTANDING!!!

Great service & very authentic Chinese food! Fish and eel are very fresh. Definitely worth trying. Would be a good choice comparing to other Szechuan restaurants around.

Service: 5 - Service was great and the staffs on phone were really nice!!! They actually try to listen to you compared to other Szechuan places around.Food - Can't really go wrong with Szechuan food. Our dishes came out really quickly and hot (I have been to places where food came out warm). We tried fried fish dish and it was great. Not to spicy and sour and perfectly seasoned for my taste. Portions were big.Chair: 4 - Chairs here are big. It is nice to be seated in a big chair but it was just bit too unwieldy and difficult to place yourself close to the table.
