Guerrilla Tacos Los Angeles Reviews from The Last Year
Went here for lunch, the price of a taco is exuberant.
I don't mind paying for expensive meal except the taste of the tacos are not mind blowing. We ordered sweet potato taco, it was meh. The pork carnitas is dry the only saving grace is the lomo saltado. Also I can't believe they charge for salsa.
Hit & Misses
I was so excited to try Gorilla Tacos with a Michelin star. We arrived late afternoon. The dining room has 12 - 2 top tables and the back room is the bar. The decor I would call industrial with high ceilings, brick walls, a graffiti section and an archeological cutout referencing the history of the building with a sparking open kitchen in the rear. Food presentation beautiful. One small taco on small plates. Server suggested 3 tacos for a meal and we obliged. While each ingredient on the taco was prepared perfectly, the combinations didn’t bring much more to the palette (but perfect heat.) out of the 9 tacos we ordered 3 were exceptional. Three deserts on the menu but were too full to order any. Last observation; I thought it odd that the restaurant was filled with only white customers.
5 all the way, food, service, chill atmosphere.
..and apparently the cocktails were fantastic. We brought our Canadian Aunt & Uncle here. They wanted fun and authentic food and Guerilla Tacos more than delivered. How was it Carl? "I F$$@@N love this place." There you have it folks, Carl approves and Betty was happy as a clam when they brought out her tres leches b-day slice. My fav was the carnitas taco on a blue corn tortilla. Everything about it was spot on. In fact, this is my new favorite carnitas taco in LA. Guac was just right in its lumpy simplicity and their salsas were standouts. Party shared a quesadilla, Caesar salad, guac and chips and we each ordered 2-3 tacos. My crispy shell taco was a bit too salty...I think it was wild boar. Here are some pics:

I've been angling to get here for dinner, but I am so rarely in DTLA, and the last time (for a Clipper game - friend's tickets, I'm not defecting from the Lakers), I came by and they were closed. So I was driving back though and thought I would make it a point to come here. I was with my pooch, so we had the patio to ourselves. I had 3 tacos, the steak Lomo Saltado, the green chicken chorizo, and the sweet potato, along with a mezcal margarita. The margarita was perfectly fine, not amazing but tasty and appropriately smokey. The chicken was my least favorite. It really wasn't spicy not was it fatty, both things I would expect from chorizo. The sweet potato was good, and hearty. If you have non-meat eaters in your group, this would definitely go over well (not sure if they use dairy or not). The Lomo Saltado was the star of the three for me, with nice strips of steak, tomato and onion.

Excellent tacos, famous for their sweet potato taco, which has the best sauce! And when they have the Suadero (beef short rib) taco, it's a must! One of my favs in LA & highly recommend! Great story too, as owner started from humble beginnings.
Los Angeles, Arts District.
May 2024. This is a high end menu of tacos and mezcal that is very Los Angeles. The flavors sound simple but the execution is extremely well done. One of their OG tacos from their foodtruck days is Picadillo Pocho, intended as a mash of Mexican and American. The wild boar is stewed in a savory Mexican stew w potatoes, peas, and carrots. Add in an avocado salsa and lime crema. This baby is served overflowing in a crispy corn shell and hit with yellow cheese! It's a little messy and full of flavors that make your mouth happy. In addition to their OG tacos there are seasonal ones, along w tostadas and quesadillas. If you want to keep it simple, any two tacos and a can of Tecate will get you the approval of the staff. You'll also find one of the better, some say the best, selections of mezcal. It's worth a flight tasting. And be sure to get some spicy lime chapulinas with your orange slices. It's only a meal of everyday tacos, but they are the best you'll probably have in a sit-down place.
Came here last night prior to a friend's graduation.
Place was busy, but we had a reservation. Still had to wait a bit, so we went to the bar. Grabbed a Maracuya which is a passion fruit and pineapple cocktail, very flavorful. Would definitely recommend. Started off our food with some raw oysters, which varied in size, unfortunately. Wouldn't say they were memorable, so can't recommend them. The poke tostada was actually better then I thought it would be, and the tortilla base stayed together the entire time, which was nice. The green chicken chorizo taco, to me, really didn't pack much flavor, and the chorizo was indiscernible. I had high hopes for the taco but it didn't pan out. The pork carnitas taco did have good flavor in the pork but felt a little one note. We had been here before, when they had a pork belly taco, which was phenomenal, but isn't currently on the menu. Overall, the food items could be hit or miss, but the drinks were very good

Yummy tacos! We had the lomo saltado, carnitas and fish tacos and all were Good! We also had the potato and cheese taquitos and the cara cara Olive oil cake. The Olive oil cake was warm and moist on the inside and was crunchy and crisp on the outside. Went well with the orange sherbet that came with it!

Just got into LA yesterday for a wedding and this was the spot the bride chose for her rehearsal dinner and cocktail hour. But I had to check it out first because it's been on my list for soooo long and I wanted to see what the restaurant was like in a non catering setting. I was gonna wait until after I went to the rehearsal dinner but I just am too excited and can't stop thinking about the taco I had yesterday. All three tacos I tried WERE OUT OF THIS WORLDz. I have grown up my entire life eating street tacos which these are for sure not but you can tell that whoever is directing the culinary direction of this establishment knows there was around a plancha AND a a fancy restaurant kitchen. The blending of flavors was out of this world. I know a lot of reviews mention the price but like you pay for which you get for and that's not to say I would always be in the mood for a ten dollar taco (that's a lie I would eat these any chance I got if I lived here) but you are clearly getting your moneys worth. PLUS The vibe is THERE. It's inviting and welcoming without being campy and still having a very modern feel it felt just so Laz The entire staff, from the super friendly greeting I received from the woman (who I thought was the host but I think is actually the manager) to the bartender with a perfectly coiffed set of hair, was SUPER friendly and informative. Everyone said hi to me from the gentleman cussing the tables to one of the cooks who brought me my foods I'm not going to tell you which tacos I got because I do fully believe that you should go in with no expectations and just follow your heart plus their menu suggested that it changes often so I wouldn't want to recommend something and then disappoint you if it's gone when you arrive. my teeny tiny complaint is the gentleman behind the bar failed to mention the specials until after I had already filled up on three tacos. But that just gives me Something to try next time. I will update the review after the wedding with how they do with catering but if it's ever remotely like the brick and mortar business then I am not worried at all.
We love this place so much this is our go to spot for date
We love this place so much this is our go to spot for date night and we love bringing friends here from out of town. When it's just me and my partner we love to sit at the bar and the bar tenders are all super friendly. Let me tell you their lomo saltado taco and sweet potato taco gets us every time. I've never had any taco like these and I literally look forward to eating them every time we go. The forbidden fruit is my favorite cocktail to get, my partner changes his drink every time he goes but lately he'll just do a mezcal on the rocks. The fish taco is also one of my favorites the fish to batter ratio is on point. And then the mushroom quesadilla is delicious but filling!!
Stopped in for a late lunch.
First, the drinks were so refreshing. I had the Pansy Dropper and Maracuya, both smooth and citrus forward. The food was fresh and flavorful. The highlight being the Potato and Cheese Taquitos. Not sure what that sauce was but holy cow it was good. We also had the Poke Tostada, Mushroom Quesadilla and both were excellent. Then we had the Cara Cara Olive Oil Cake, which was both one of the more innovative and unbelievably tasty desserts I've had in a long time. Vibe was pretty chill, and the service was attentive.

Do you mean your own listings (which are in Portfolio->Sales History) or in general for all venues?
