Hao Noodle has the best dumplings I've ever had.
Hands down. The pan seared are probably the best, but by a smidgen, because all the ones I've had are fire. The steamed pork and watercress are juicy and balanced. I also think the pork in chili oil are delicious. Any time I come back to the city I make sure I get my fix.

Good ambience and servers are friendly!
Be the first to ReplyVery good.
Came here for the Hot Pot Beef soup which I heard was very spicy. The heat level was very good and the beef was amazing tender and really delicious. Restaurant is very nice and service was goodI do there was more quantity for the $25 dish. Hate paying that and leaving hungry.
Be the first to ReplyGood service, decent taste of food.
Staff are very attentive. Dish wise, it would be the fried dumplings and stir fried pea shoots. Lamb stew also very tasty and sauce is quite yummy.

This place was nice! The interior was super cute, really liked the vibe of the place. Came here with a friend for dinner and the prices and portion size was great. I wasn't super crazy about all the noodles that we got (hence the 4 stars), but I think this place is definitely worth a try. The service was also great here. WINNERSReally liked the dessert we got - it was the soybean with black sesame ice cream. The Dan Dan Noodles were also great. The Vermicielli was also delicious. The Scallion noodles with mushroom was ok.LOSERThough the most expensive dish, didn't love the beef noodle. Thought that the beef was too tough. If it was more tender, it could have been more palatable and worked with the rest of the noodle dishOverall, a great spot and will be back here for those Dan Dan noodles!

3.5/5Hao Noodle serves elevated regional Chinese dishes in the middle of West Village. I came here with a party of four on Friday around 5 pm and there weren't many people there at the time, although the restaurant was half full by the time we left at 7 pm. They no longer have outdoor seating, but it was bitter cold that day so it was better for us to be indoors anyways. This is such a pretty restaurant. It felt very spacious but also cozy (maybe because the table was kinda small for all four of us haha). The servers were attentive throughout and were overall very nice and respectful. As for the food itself, it was pretty decent. We ordered the vegetable spring rolls, eight spice crispy tofu, mapo tofu, sweet and sour ribs, and braised pork belly. The dishes were generally pretty good, but nothing wowed me. For the price you pay, I'm not sure if you can say it's worth it. I don't think I'll be back, but I wasn't disappointed during my meal!

If you're looking for a nice space with good food for a large group in West Village, this is the place! Came here for a party of three with a same day reservation on a Friday night. The space is large and plenty, and when I first arrived around 5:30pm, I was unimpressed by the paper menu's, empty tables, and decor. As time passed the tables started getting filled up, and by the time we finished our meal, the place was fully packed! The food here is pricey but refined - anyone who makes the argument that Chinese food "dirty" or "greasy" wouldn't have much grounds here!I'd love to return the next time I want to have a large family style meal with all my friends.

the prices for the food here is a little astonishing but it was at least very good. $20 for mapo tofu is something i hope not to fork over too frequently lol.Waitstaff was friendly but stretched very thin, we had to flag down our waiters everytime for almost everything. The braised pork was very good, and mapo tofu wasn't bad. The fried mala shrimp was a little greasy and fried too heavy, but otherwise a cool combination of flavors. Interior decor is interesting but cool. I'd recommend reservations if you can snag it, seems to be rather popular as well.
Be the first to ReplyGreat date spot.
Extensive food and drink options at very reasonable prices. The space is big and and the interior design is very cute.

Did a mini birthday dinner here with some friends because the place looked festive and beautiful - love the fairy lights! The crispy tofu was super soft inside and perfectly fried on the outside (though a little difficult to pick up because it falls apart). Flavor wise, the dish was alright, but not bad by any means. Veggies were surprisingly good and flavorful. We got the wasabi cucumber salad, but everyone at my table was particularly impressed with the umami flavor of the sautéed milk cabbage (looks like bokchoi but not sure if they're the same thing).Dan dan noodles tasted how they should, good quality, though not too memorable for me. Really enjoyed the black bean flavor in the back pork belly dish - I kept coming back to it. Total for 2 mains, 2 apps, 2 bowls of rice and a bowl of noodles came to ~$100 which I think is great for a dinner in manhattan that feeds four, especially considering how nice the restaurant looks inside. Overall a very nice experience :)

Try the dan dan noodles, crispy shrimp, and egg dumpling stew. Be happy.
Be the first to ReplyMy daughter and I were visiting New York City.
My son lives in Brooklyn. He suggested we go here for lunch. It's one of the few places he has not yet tried. After our lunch I'm sure he will be back. The food was amazing. Every single dish. The service was phenomenal. Our water was never empty. The timing of the food was perfect. The atmosphere was modern yet comfortable. The bathroom was spotless. I highly recommend. I will definitely come back.

They have kept the good service and good taste even during pandemic. It is one of our must to come at least once a week!

Was very hesitant about coming here because i was worried it would be one of those "expensive for the sake of being expensive / demographics of the neighborhood" -- but was pleasantly surprised. The food is indeed pricier than equivalents you can get in chinatown&elsewhere, but quality makes up for it in my opinion. We tried:- soup dumplings 10/10: this might be my new favorite xlb in the city. Although you only get 3 for $7, theyre (slightly) larger than other places and the soup and meat and skin are excellent. The skin is a bit on the thinner side, which i prefer, but also a little prone to breaking, as i broke two lifting it. - spicy fish stew 9/10: was surprised by the yellow visual but don't let your guard down as there is a bit of spice to it. We ended up ordering rice to eat with it but it would also be great on its own as the flavors are not super overwhelming- lamb belly 9/10: my main confusion with this dish was how much (& large) the carrots are as i don't love carrots but the noodles are a remarkable chewy texture and the lamb is deliciously tender.
Be the first to ReplySo impressed by our dining experience at Hao Noodle.
I made a reservation for a party of 7 on their website and called them to get help changing it to a party of nine. The space is clean and bright. There's plenty of room around the tables so that you don't feel cramped. Our large table was nicely laid out in the middle of the dining room. We had a few bottles of wine and tried lots of options from the menu. Everything was excellent. The wontons and soup dumplings stand out for delicate, fresh and delicious starters. The Dan Dan noodles were addicting, a little spicy and with delicious chunks of meat. The ginger spinach was so refreshing. I highly recommend going with a large group so that you can try lots of options.

My god was this place amazing! The atmosphere is beautiful - a modern, clean feel, with a cozy touch. Long curtains lead the way from the entrance to two dining rolls both with different feels. We sat in the larger dining room which had beautiful ceiling lanterns/light fixtures and large plants as decoration. The menu is easy to understand for anyone as it has pictures of every dish (loved this!) and the service was fast. The waiters were nice, helpful, and some were playful as well.We started off with dim sum - soup dumplings and wontons. Both were extremely fresh and flavorful. For the main dishes we had the seafood tomato curry risotto and the steamed shrimp with garlic vermicelli - both were excellent and again, very flavorful. The risotto was more of a stew to me but nevertheless it was a comforting meal. It looks like they release new menu items every couple of months. I would love to come here again and try more things!
Be the first to ReplyI really didn't want to like this place.
.. it's so posh and expensive, I thought it couldn't possibly have authentic Chinese food. But man oh man is it good (and yes it's on the expensive side)! Waiter will push you to order more. We ordered the below dishes for 3 girls and had more than enough food, could've taken one dish out.Le shan chicken - the flavors in this dish had such complexity, wow!Eight spice tofu - my favorite, slightly crisp outside and perfectly soft and delicate tofu on the inside Claypot dumplings - just ground meat wrapped in egg "dumplings" (not really dumplings) with vermicillin noodles, napa cabbage, and broth Siu Mai - delicious, but for $6 for 3 pieces, it wanted more. Way more flavorful inside than most siu mai dishes I've had. Scallion noodles - least favorite. I was expecting more flavor, more ingredients?Cocktails are fantastic.
Be the first to ReplyWas decent.
Good quality and tasty but it gets very one noted quick. Got the Dan Dan noodle and the hot pot beef noodle. Everything was nice including ambiance. My only complaint is the service is slow af. Legit took like 20 min to order. Felt bad for the table next to us cause they were there and ordered before us but their food came like 25 min later. Service wasn't bad but just hella slow.

Hao good are these noodles? Really good! Alright that's enough jokes. I am so sorry. We got the rice and bacon siu mai. You already know those were flame. I got the lamb belly noodle. That was ALSO FLAME.My girlfriend ordered the hot and spicy fish stew. This was a weird one. Overall pretty good. Smells incredible. Fish and broth taste incredible. But there were a ton of little Szechuan kernels (looked like capers). They were overpowering and super perfumey. Smelled good but eclipsed any other flavor in your mouth. Great soup when these were removed. The place is absolutely beautiful inside and is well worth the ambience. Service was great.
Be the first to ReplyMy one gripe with this place is the pricing/portion sizes.
The pricing is fair, but I felt that they should've given more food for each of the dishes. Additionally, they don't include jasmine rice and each bowl of rice will set you back $2, which is pretty ridiculous. We all know how much rice costs to make - even $1 per bowl is a good profit margin. We ordered the hotpot beef noodle soup, sautéed fish in the clay pot, and DanDan noodles. The DanDan noodles were great - the perfect amount of spice with springy and chewy noodles. There will also be some nice sauce/veggies left over after you finish the noodles if you want to eat it with rice. The hot pot beef noodle soup was also very good - not that spicy and the beef was extremely tender. Noodles are the same as those in the DanDan noodles, springy and pleasant. The sautéed fish in the clay pot was solid. Lots of onions, green onions, and garlic that come in this dish - appreciated, but could've used more fish.I think if I were to come back solo I'd order only the DanDan noodles :p

One of my first meals after moving to the city, hao noodle did not disappoint. We were able to get seated immediately upon walking in and the food was brought out so quickly. The Dan Dan noodle and cauliflower dishes were delicious as well!

Highly recommend the chicken and mushroom soup and the meatball soup because it reminds me of my family's home cooking.Shanghai scallion oil noodle and the fried tofu is also really tasty! I would say the spicy shrimp and Mapo tofu was lacking in something and I wouldn't get those again. Minus 1 star for the hesitant host who seemed to not want to give us a table at first. The service here is ok. For a more upscale Chinese place with higher prices I would expect a little bit different from your typical Chinese restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful interior.
A lovely casual yet romantic place. The food is also delicious. We ordered the Chickpea Noodles, Bacon Siu Mai, Crispy Duck, and Chicken Meatballs. The noodles had a good bounce and chew and the slightly spicy pork and broth were an amazing combination. The siu Mai and crispy duck were alright. They mainly just tasted of sticky rice, so there wasn't enough balance to the dishes. The chicken meatballs in broth was really good though. The meatball was soft and flavorful and the broth complimented the meatball as well. It was a perfect dish for a cold evening. We also ordered the baekho silver needle tea which was very smooth and an excellent post dinner tea.
