Very disappointing
Smoke and mirrors! The menu whilst quite expensive (but you are opposite Harrods) has an amazing choice of food. My husband had prawns to start , which were very good. I had endive salad with blue cheese and nut dressing . Whilst very fresh and plenty of cheese , there was no dressing at all. Pointed this out to our very Jovial waiter , who just smiled and totally ignored me. The main course came. I had sole and clams. Out of the several clams on my plate only 3 had clams inside which had been massively over cooked. There was no rosemary on the โrosemary chipsโ which were additional, again pointed this out to the jolly waiter , who again ignored me. Itโs the first time ever we asked for the service charge to be removed from the bill. Itโs a beautiful place and as previously stated an excellent menu. They clearly do not need to worry about a steady flow of wealthy customers. But, this was a special meal for us. Sorry to say, we wonโt be returning!
Be the first to ReplyFood is good and service was ok
First time here, we couldnโt get a seat inside even with reservation so we sat outside, which was ok but very cold as it is February. There are patio heaters but they were doing absolutely nothing. Itโs a fabulous location right at the back of harrods, watching the luxury world go by is fabulous, the bonus of being outside was you could spot all the beautiful handbags going past on lovely ladies arms. I could have done that all day. Anywho, service was ok we were given a gentleman that looked like he didnโt want to be there and had just rolled out of bed, there was another lady outside and she was fabulous but she wasnโt serving us unfortunately. Our waiter was quite questioning and was condescending in his tone, I thought he was just that way with us but it turned out he was talking that way to everyone. The staff inside were great they took my phone to charge it as it was dead and it was charged fully within about half an hour! I ordered the salmon and egg on toast and it was very delicious. I also had a cocktail which was disappointing it came to me in a martini glass that was spilling everywhere! Prices I think were overpriced however it is where it is so compensated I guess. Lovely earl grey tea in a gorgeous teapot. Complimentary water at the table. Bathroom was a bit of a mess tbh, surprised at that, and every customer inside the restaurant when I walked in looked miserable as sin and like robots. It was a weird eerie feeling tbh, but perhaps thatโs what rich looks like? Would I go back again? Yes most likely, because I didnโt get to try the toadstool dessert as I was full. but I will definitely book further in advance to hopefully get an inside table.

Excellent service, delicious food. Our waiter was very friendly and funny. Food was lovely, great cocktail and wine list Service was extremely quick (maybe too quick) could be good for some! But for us a table of 7 celebrating we would have preferred slightly longer waits between ordering/courses
Be the first to ReplyAwful visit for lunch
Awful visit for lunch- restaurant was dusty which I pointed out to the manager. He then changed our seats. The new chair was so wobbly- a hazard. When I informed the duty manager nothing was done. I tried e mailing the restaurant to let them know but there was poor response. Absolutely shocking experience.

We have been to Harryโs many times and it was one of our favourite restaurants in London for a date night/lunch when we were in the city. We had requested a window table when we booked and understandably were informed that they would put the request in but it wasnโt guaranteed. We accepted that. On arriving on time we were shown to a table at the back of the restaurant as far away as you could get from anywhere else, tucked away in a walkway corridor. We werenโt happy when we saw it and asked to move. At first the waitress told us that that was the only table and we explained that we had requested a window table. She said that there werenโt any and you canโt request tables. We saw some free little tables opposite the window and said that weโd be happy with one of those. She told us no, they had been requested, that was less than a minute after she had advised you couldnโt request tables! Eventually we did get a window table and an apology from the manager who advised that the lady was in fact wrong and that the tables hadnโt been requested but were in a first come first served. Very strange as we were obviously first as the tables were free. Anyhow we had a window table. On to the food. I ordered the truffle risotto which again I have had many times as itโs so delicious and smells divine when they lift the lid. Not this time. It arrived luke warm, watery and completely tasteless. It wasnโt creamy at all, the grains of rice were separated not the way a risotto should be. I informed the waiter and he said it was the same chef as always but would I like to order something different. I did but by the time it came my husband had finished his meal. We wanted to order the signature โToadstoolโ dessert but apparently that had run out at 6pm which was disappointing also. We ordered other desserts which were lovely but they forgot to bring our dessert wines with them and by the time we had reminded them and they arrived, we had finished our desserts. We didnโt stay for coffee as we were so disappointed, we went back to our hotel and had them there. It was a very disappointing evening when we had been looking forward to it so much. I hope it was a one off but sadly I donโt know if we will return.
Be the first to ReplyAvoid! Awful restaurant
My family and I had wanted to visit this restaurant for some time and decided that it would be lovely to end a special Christmas treat day in London, with dinner at Harry's. Unfortunately the evening in this restaurant was anything but a treat! Firstly we arrived to be told that people were still occupying our table. That's fine we said, maybe we can have a drink in the bar while we wait? No - we were told by the uncharismatic front staff, the bar is busy, please can you wait outside. It was -3 degrees outside, this was a very unimpressive start. Eventually we were shown to our table and ordered some drinks. We waited ...and waited.... a waiter then asked if we would like to order our food but we declined saying we would like to at least have a sip of our pre-dinner drink first! 45 minutes later our drinks arrived. We ordered our food and it the food was lovely but they forgot to bring my daughters starter, so we had to wait for that to arrive and then for the main courses, the steak I had ordered as medium rare arrived and was totally 'over' well done, so that had to go back and I ended up eating my main course on my own. Not good. They did remove the steak from the final bill but the meal was not the shared family experience we were hoping for. However, the lowest point of the evening was still to come as while eating our deserts and finishing our wine, we were asked by (i presume) the manager if they could have the table back and that they had already allowed us to have the table for an extra 40 minutes! So incredibly unprofessional, we couldn't believe it. Especially as the delayed time on the table was as a result of the horrendous service we had received. By now worn out with how bad the evening had been, we asked if we could finish our drinks in the bar but were again told that the bar was full. It seems to me that the restaurant is very poorly run and extremely greedy regarding the number of covers they take. I don't think i have ever been asked to wait outside in the cold for my table or not been accommodated regarding an area to finish drinks if a table is required back. When i mentioned this to the staff they just said it wasn't their fault but that simply isn't good enough. It's a shame because overall i think the food is good but the service and the experience is awful. We will never return to this restaurant and I suggest you don't either.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, bad service.
The food at Harryโs Dolce Vita was lovely however when asking for a drink it took three attempts to get the correct drink, we then ordered our food which we made sure to specify what dishes were starters and mains and made it clear that we didnโt want it all together. We then received all dishes together at this point we were fed up with explaining and ate the meal all together. All the dishes were great however the service really let it down and will put us off returning
Be the first to ReplyAmazing service at Harryโs - highly recommended
My best friend and I had a lovely lunch today at Harryโs. The food was utterly delicious and the service from Higia was excellent. She was friendly, helpful and gave great suggestions on the menu. It made our afternoon - we will be back.
Be the first to ReplyBest Italian restaurant in london!
This is my second visit to this amazing Italian restaurant! The pizza is the best I have ever tasted and i only wish I lived nearer! The staff canโt not do enough for you.. really friendly, courteous and really quick efficient service. The restaurant decor itself is really beautiful and quirky and everything is gleaming clean. There is also outside seating with heaters and blankets which is lovely for when it starts to get cold in the evenings. The location is over the road from harrods so handy to take a shopping break. I was recommended this restaurant by the receptionist at the Millennium Hotel I was staying at at I canโt thank them enough because I just love it here :)
Be the first to ReplyOk for a lunch.
I was a bit disappointed overall. The restaurant is narrow and a bit cramped. We were sat at the rear very near the kitchens, and the wait staff were very noisy talking to each other as well as throwing the plates and cutlery into the kitchen to be washed. Not ideal at all. The frittes were a bit soggy and the Linguine Vongole was average. It had plenty of clams in and looked good but it lacked flavor. I probably wouldn't choose to come here again.
Be the first to ReplySaturday Lunch Excellence
We'd booked in advance for a Saturday lunch for four and it was our first visit. The whole experience from the greeting to paying the bill was seamless and full of great practice. We had plenty of choice from the menu, had a great seat and plenty of attention for an effective team. Love the table settings, the napiery and menus. Lovely loos too by the way. A real success, thank you.
Be the first to ReplyA family favourite!
We've come here twice with our kids now, and on both occasions the staff, food and service have been absolutely fantastic. I always opt for the truffle pasta and toadstool dessert, never disappoints. The staff are so incredibly kind to children and they make the whole experience of going out for dinner with children so fun for them, they've always engaged with the children and made them smile. This is our family favourite in London. Just one down side; they don't box up leftovers for takeaways. Other than that, we love it and it's my daughters' favourite :) thank you Harry's!
Be the first to ReplyHandbag Stolen
Upset to say my handbag was stolen during a daytime family meal. The restaurant need to stop people walking in and sitting down at tables then ordering nothing & stealing diners possessions when they are distracted / food is served. The restaurant is very narrow & congested & lends itself to this type of crime.
Be the first to ReplyLovely brunch place
This was our second visit to Harry's and every area which we felt was slightly lacking on our first visit was made up for on this occasion.
We arrived early for our booking and were seated straight away by the helpful host team. They advised us of the need to return the table at a certain time, no problem at all. This was the polar opposite of our experience on the first visit, when the host was pretty rude to us when we arrived for our outdoor terrace table booking and it was raining, as if we had brought along this inconvenience ourselves. She almost turned us away altogether until a manager came over and allowed us to sit at the bar. No trace of any standoffish-ness on this occasion, entirely the opposite, so we put the first experience down to a bad day.
We ordered the crab benedict and waffles which were both lovely. The house rose wine is lovely and reasonably priced. We enjoyed the toadstool dessert which we were so glad we tried!
Our server was a really friendly young blond lady, whose name I did not get. In fact, without exception everyone at Harry's is very courteous and friendly. It looks like a really well-run place, with a number of managers always present and checking in with the guests.
The restaurant has a lovely feel and I would definitely recommend it for post-shopping lunch.
Pleasant Surprise - for Chelsea a good find for lunch!
The old Cafe Rouge โฆ not sure what I expected. The quality of the food was high. The bill was not Harrods - of course reflected we were in Chelsea. The service was good. Pleasant Surprise would be my main feedback. Not the greatest lunch ever - crowded tables together - over priced wine - no water except bottled. But for where it is and what we paid - highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplySecond visit in 3 months
We previously visited in December 2021 for my daughters birthday and it was outstanding in every way. Today we re-visited to celebrate my sons birthday and it didn't dissapoint. The gent serving us was attentive, polite and efficient. The food was clean , flavoursome, hot and presented well .
Toadstool dessert is always a must and I salute the culinary creative genius who thought of it !
I work for a very successful restaurant group in Hertfordshire counties , one of our brands is Italian cuisine, the other a high end steak chain . I know about good service and food. Harry's is my number one in London.
A few comments about the prices , it is an extremely reasonably priced restaurant for what you get , especially in that part of town.
Last but not least , the ladies on reception are very well presented and friendly and the Ops Director Leo is a charismatic charm who makes you feel special. A valuable asset to any hospitality establishment.
Well done and thanks ! Looking forward to seeing you all again in the future.
:)
Fantastic food
My wife, my daughter and I eat here on Sunday 27th February for evening dinner.
The food was fantastic. Not cheap but very good.
The bill came to ยฃ126 for the 3 of us which included a gin and tonic, 2 bottles of peroni and 2 diet cokes so we weren't excessive.
The mushroom sweet was an experience in itself.
I didn't fancy a sweet so I had Limincelo instead, this is poured at the table over a glass of crushed ice, that melted the ice, Worth the ยฃ3.50 alone to watch the performance. I enjoyed the first Limoncelo so much, had a second :-)
Great experience. Great location.
Recommended.
My only small negative was that the table the 3 of us were seated at was in front of the bar and I lost count the number of times that passing serving staff or customers knocked my chair. Not a great experience but this didn't detract from the overall enjoyment.
Delicious !!
An incredible dinner as usualโฆ Always love coming back to dine here, there isnโt a better Italian restaurant than this! Delicious food, warm atmosphere, brilliant serviceโฆ looking forward to visit again soon!
