You cannot go wrong with this steakhouse.
Cannot compare the meat quality to anything else. The environment is louder then other steakhouses but it's ok. I would recommend that you ask for medium rare even if you want it medium. My steak was a tad bit medium well which was not what I wanted. But all in all I will return.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food - good service and ambiance.
Excellent whisky options for after dinner drinks. Recommend the porterhouse (~900g) for two people with sides.
Be the first to ReplyChose this for our last night visiting London.
What a great meal and great service. We enjoyed the chateaubriand the beef fries and spinach. The pork belly starter was delicious.

I had to pick a good spot. I had seen a lot of stuff already. What was missing? I decided that a choice steakhouse was what was missing. So I looked at my data, and I saw this place, and the decision was easy. This place is classy, and I hear it's delicious. So I made my reservations, and came here to eat at halftime of my exploration of the British Museum. Classy classy. We were lead down into a wine cellar-esque dining room that had glass windows looking into the kitchen and big, giant pillars studding the room occasionally, really making you feel the weight in the air of the massive city above your head. Our super nice server came by, got our drink orders, and then we studied the food. We split an app, the Bone marrow & onions (sourdough toast). Probably the second best bone marrow dish I've ever had. A deep marrow flavor that is the epitome of unctuousness. Slathered with grilled onions to make the stuff infinitely more spreadable. And again, I've noticed that in this country, with the meals, they give you an appropriate amount of bread, unlike in the ol' US of A. So good. So the main meal, we split a Porterhouse. This was like a real steakhouse, you ordered your steaks by weight, and you were given the price per pound, er, or the price per kilogram here. So I had to do some math to see how hungry I was. I gotta say, this was the most beautiful porterhouse I have ever eaten. The filet side was So big, the sear on the meat was impeccable, she huge flakes of sea salt adorning the whole thing was beautiful, and it was cut off the bone all professional-like, revealing the perfect medium rare meat within. A lot of TLC went into this steak, and it showed. So tender and flavorful. Perfection. We got a side for our steak, and I believe it was a special, because I can't see it on their online menu right now. The brie mashed potatoes. These were the most decadent mashed potatoes I have ever had. Supremely smooth mash, with the creamy, melted brie perfused throughout. To drive the message home, they have the rind on top, sinking into the potato abyss, like a delicious iceberg. My God.If all this stuff hasn't sounded amazing enough, I finished the meal with the best part of the meal, the Sticky toffee pudding (clotted cream). I've heard of English puddings my whole life, without the chance to try any, of course. But now, my chance presented. The cakey pudding was entirely, 100% saturated with the toffee-flavored syrup. Very sweet and sugary. And the clotted cream on top added a nice, creamy fatness to it, providing that relief from the pure sugar. I'm going to stop now, because I could talk about this pudding literally all day.Overall, this was a banger. All my meals were bangers, but this place was particularly banging. It really stuck out in my meals memory. Amazing marrow, steak, mash, and pudding. Amazing. Come here.
Be the first to ReplyWent for a celebration and it was a great time for all.
One of our steaks was over cooked and they took it off the bill which was appreciated. The server was attentive but it is very noisy in there so be prepared.

The location was great, the looks of the place was great but that's where it ended. It was very hot and stuffy on the particular day we went. It was too loud to even have a conversation. One side of my filet was over cooked. And on top of everything else our waiter was horrible, rude and not attentive. We waited over 45 minutes for our entrees and waited a half an hour to pay the check after we flagged staff down to get the check. Maybe it's because I'm an American and used to service being tip top when I'm paying a certain amount of money, but the service should be above and beyond and the steak needs to be on point. This place had neither.

Love the steaks and desserts Were in London for 3 days and ate here twice
Be the first to ReplyLovely, had the bone marrow and it was amazing.
The meat we had for mains was good so were the sides. Great dining experience, worth the money. I would recommend. My only issue is the tables for 2 are really close together, not enough privacy.
Be the first to ReplyThe bone marrow appetizer was amazing.
Steak was cooked to perfection with lots of flavor.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food and service.
Ambiance was nice and the staff knew how to take care of patrons with allergies.Ribeye was perfectly cooked, chicken was moist and tasty. The sticky toffee pudding was to die for!Sides were great, mushrooms, Cesar salad, creamed spinach and sweet potato.

I made the booking for Christmas Eve dinner in AUGUST!!!! Plenty of time to make sure I hade a table secured for my family for a special holiday celebration. Thirty minutes prior to the booking we leave our Air bnb excited for a delicious dinner, anticipation building with each rainy step. We finally arrive at our destination only to find it's CLOSED?!?!? Â I'm sorry?!?!?!? Again I have made a booking on open table and have received a confirmation email! You can imagine my surprise/frustration/annoyance/exasperation/anger... too many adjectives to name here. Long story short we frantically searched for another establishment that was 1) open and 2) not fully booked already. Thankfully Angus Steakhouse graciously squeezed us in and to our delight it was delicious and the service was amazing. Hold on a moment while I go give them a glowing review...
Be the first to ReplyI booked a table to have a Sunday roast.
It came highly recommended and it didn't disappoint. The server recommended the fillet cut of meat. He described all the sauces in detail so I could make my decision. I also ordered the buttered new potatoes and creamed spinach. It was truly a wonderful dining experience and worth every penny!

Loved all the cuts we tried and shared (so we could have a variety), bone Marrow with caramelized onions accompanied our chateaubriand and bone-in ribeye, and our extremely knowledgeable waiter who was spot-on with his meat temperature suggestions. Best part that grapefruit tequila aperol cocktail!

Pre-COVID review:This place has a nice vibe, like it's a chill place to go after work and grab a drink. Both of us ordered the 400g boneless sirloin (£29.50). The meat doesn't come with any sauce, so we got one with peppercorn sauce (£3) and another with béarnaise (£3). The sauces come on the side. Out of the two sauces, peppercorn is better than the béarnaise. Decent meat but not the same as home. We also added two sides: the dripping fries (£4.50) and creamed spinach (£5.50). Both were delicious. I can't believe everything here comes a la carte, like the sauce. Slight ouch on our wallets. As for drinks, BF tried their Kernel London Porter (£5.25) and a 50 ml glass of somerset 3 yr (£6.25), while I drank the grapefruit and bergamot iced tea (£4). I found the iced tea okay, but man, it was £4 without any refills. We still had some room for dessert, so we picked the sticky toffee sundae (£6.75). Tasty and lighter than sticky toffee pudding.
Be the first to ReplyCame in especially for the Sunday Roast.
Not sure what all the fuss is about??? The service was faultless. The food left a lot to be desired. Â The rump roast was tough and stringy. Â I could not chew or cut through most of it. The flavour was good but the effort of trying to cut it was ridiculous. Eventually after being tired of trying, I asked the waitress if that is what it was supposed to be like, she looked at my meat and said I got a bad piece, since its rump some parts have a lot of sinew etc. They brought me another piece. Â It was better but not the melt in mouth I was expecting after a long roast. Â The gravy was excellent and the accompaniments were delicious, you can tell a lot of effort has gone into making the veg delicious. Too bad the meat did not come up to same standard.Hubby had fillet steak with salad. Â He enjoyed his steak and felt salad was overdressed .Doubt we'll be back

What could've easily been a two star rating, was turned into a four based on fantastic service of the staff and simply a great steak. Unbelievable food this place really does it well.I placed a phone call to this location to make my reservation for 8 PM Saturday February 15th, on Friday, February 14th. Upon arrival Saturday night, I was told that my reservation was for 11 PM. And that I had booked it for 11pm. Ummm there kitchen closes at 10:30pm. I know exactly what I did. I know exactly how our conversation booking this went. There wasn't even a mention of 11 PM. There was a mention of 8 PM for the booking, and there was a mention of 12:30 AM you have until you have to leave the premises. I disputed this because I know exactly what I did. My daughter and I are from Toronto. This was a birthday dinner for her 9 year-old birthday. There is absolutely no way on gods green earth I would've booked this for 11 PM. What's troubling most of all, is when the acting manager Shadow insinuates that I made the mistake. Shadow is a beautiful woman, but that does not mean everyone else is stupid. Her solution to the mixup, was for us to go to the bar area, and perhaps something could be available for 10 PM. Our bill was over 400 pounds. This amount is to be expected in a place like Hawksmoor. I was very clear in saying that we have a friend arriving for 8:30 PM (yet she was delayed and came for 9pm) and regardless, Shadow had absolutely no right to not offer a more suitable solution. Chris, a super guy, Who I think acts as a bit of a host and also an assistant manager perhaps, saved the situation. Once things calmed down a little bit, my daughter and I were waiting downstairs in the bar area and Chris had us seated within minutes. The most troubling aspect of Shadows managerial solution, and after Chris had us seated, at any given moment, there were at least three or four available tables at all times. I just continue to have this feeling that Shadow could have handled the situation better. Rather than telling us to go downstairs and wait for two more hours when she's the one that made the mistake in the first place, she could have taken a more proactive approach and had us seated immediately, and let us know that's what her goal is. We almost left as a result of Shadows blatant blame shifting. This would have been a shame because our time at the Manchester location in the summer of 2019 was simply incredible. Regardless, the food is unbelievably delicious here. The steak is perfect. The lobster is a tad difficult to open. Perhaps we could have requested that to have been handled for us. Crab toast, perfect ribeye, the amazing spinach and mushroom sides...... And the unbelievable Customer Service of Chris, our server Eleonora, and the helpful service of Cedric made this experience wonderful. Not to mention unbelievably good food. Shadow is a beautiful woman, but I think she's had a bad couple of days. Anyways no harm done, and we shall return.

preamble: Â We were in London for four days and we ate at Hawksmoor for three of those days. Â It's just that good. Â We even purchased their cookbook, Hawksmoor At Home. Â Yeah, we liked it that much. Â bar: Â There are a handful of seats directly at the bar and another couple dozen seats at high tables in the bar area. Â The bar offers all manner of classic and modern craft cocktails. Â Their Manhattan and Cosmo, which are our go-to drinks, were excellent renditions of those iconic staples. Â They have a couple beers by the bottle and can. Â I really liked their North Brewing Company Pinata IPA. Â Of note, they have a nice selection of affordable wines. Â service: Â Don't fret if you cannot snag a seat at the bar. Â The bar waitstaff does a great job taking care of the high tables in the bar area. Â In fact, based on that great service, we chose to sit in the bar area every time. Â Each hostess, bartender, waitstaff and food runner we interacted with were uniformly professional. Â food: Â It's a steakhouse but this kitchen is consistently amazing no matter what your menu selection. Â There is both a bar menu or the full menu available at the bar. Â Of course, we had to try things from both menus. Â During our visits, we plowed through the short-rib French dip (worth it just for the bone marrow gravy), the Big Matt (their tribute to the Golden Arches iconic burger), Dodington Caesar salad (even if you don't like anchovies, you'll like these), herb-fed chicken and fillet carpaccio (which tasted sort of like a salt-cure). Â We slightly preferred the triple-cooked chips to the beef dripping fries, but that's us. Â Oh, and one night we even sub-ed the English lettuce and herb side salad, which was simply great. Â Absolutely every dish was stunning. Â Every dish. Â Wait, did I mention the house-made ketchup? Â Nope? Â Well, that's amazing too. Â details: Â Hawksmoor Seven Dials is all downstairs but the place feels clubby rather than claustrophobic. Â We did not sit in the dining room, but it appears reservations might be a good idea?
