Not so soon again
We have been coming to "Heimat" for many years. We like the food and the ambience, but in the last two years we have experienced several disappointments there. In November 2022, when Corona was no longer an issue, we entered the restaurant with friends and saw a catering team behind black masks. An absolute no-go at that time. If we hadn't been with friends to whom we had recommended the restaurant, we would have turned around immediately. They felt the same way, as they told us after the visit. On another visit in 2023, the masks were gone, but on a Saturday evening at 10 p.m. the staff started cleaning. The mood was gone and we left the restaurant. Even if sales decrease after the meal and staff are expensive, in a restaurant like Heimat I would expect a restaurateur to let his guests enjoy the evening until at least 11 p.m., at least on weekends, and to hold the fort alone for an hour if necessary. This is generally true for many restaurants and it is sometimes no longer fun to go out to eat if you are "sent home" between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m.

After friends and colleagues raved about the place, expectations were high...and were exceeded. The ambience is very pleasant, almost cozy, just makes you feel good. The service is first-class, charming, helpful and the wine recommendations were spot on. The food left nothing to be desired, we particularly liked the swordfish ceviche. The price is certainly high, but absolutely justified. We will definitely be back!

Great concept, local specialties, friendly service, invites you to come back! You can sit outside until 11pm, then inside with cool music.

Heimat did not disappoint. Found the restaurant in a listing of Frankfurt's top restaurants. Former diner now chic dining scene. Servers were experienced - had three working the room during my dinner. Had to be experienced given staffing is limited due to size of restaurant. Started the meal with shrimp amuse boche. First course was the Pink Roasted Rump of Veal while my main plate was the Pike Perch. All three courses complemented each other extremely well. It was great watch the petit kitchen work. Impressive.

A great place for dinner. Delicious food, an excellent choice of open wines. The service was especially friendly, competent and forthcoming. The place is quite small and therefore not noisy. No background music. Thus good for talking.

This is very much a fine dining establishment with a limited menu of 3 main entrees and a handful of appetizers, etc. The steak I ordered was good, albeit, baked. There are many, many fine dining places in Frankfurt and I'm not sure I would chose this place over the others.

Its a cute humble cozy place with a few tables and some chairs at the bar. We have heard rave reviews from friends and have been meaning to come here for a while. However, it's not easy getting a reservation on Fridays and Saturdays. The menu is small, so not ideal if you are a picky eater. We had goose liver as the starter and it was lovely. I am not a big fan of my main dish (maultasche). It's a little too heavy as a vegetarian option. Its a good comfortable place to catch up with an old friend over a glass of wine.
