Hide-chan Ramen New York Reviews from The Last Year

absolutely delicious ramen i love eating the classic but i don't eat the vegetables so i gave them to my dad and i just ate the ramen and drank the broth and ate the pork pieces it was so good yummy yum yum

Delicious food, good service, prices are ok, I don't love the ambiance so I always get takeout. I'd come more often and eat in if they could improve ventilation. Im bothered by a think smells of food that permeates everywhere currently

Solid ramen spot tucked away in midtown! The karaage was crunchy and juicy and pretty good ramen for the price. I enjoyed the deluxe ramen better than the black garlic ramen, the broth had better flavor and lots of toppings for the price. I got the noodles firm so it wouldnt be too soggy while i was eating it and it was perfect.
I really like this place.
The vibe is really great -- it is on the second floor (above *another* ramen place, ironically), and is very well-decorated. It really feels like you are in Japan. I sat at the bar, though they have several small tables in areas that seem great for an dinner with a few friends. The ramen was very good. Service was friendly.

The ramen here is nothing groundbreaking but at least it's not bad. Yuzu cocktail was HEAVY on the alc which some people might like. Cucumber cocktail was refreshing.
A nice hole in the wall with authentic made to order Japan
A nice hole in the wall with authentic made to order Japan style comfort food at a reasonable price. We ordered the edamame which came out perfectly cooked with a nice crunch and just the right amount of salt. The pork friend rice was also a nice appetizer (a bit peppery for mutate but also good). We also had the fried tako (octopus) which has a crunchy coating and soft flavorful bite. Wish there was a dipping axcompanyment. Mae hade two deluxe ramen and two miso ramen. The small wait was worth it as it was full of flavor without overpowering the experience or taste. The place wanted and clean and staff was attentive and professional. Reservations are recommended although I saw a few open tables.
I'm a big fan.
I enjoy Hide-Chan a lot, but what's funny about it is that I only rarely get the ramen. Instead, I get a lot of the appetizers and the other things they have. Their Kara-age (fried chicken) is fantastic. Some of the best japanese style fried chicken in Manhattan, for me. They have a good selection of veggie appetizers. The spicy cucumber and spicy bamboo salads are particularly good. The takoyaki is great and succulent. That's just a few of the things I enjoy there, too many to list. I'm a big fan of the cocktails as well. The ramen here is pretty good - not my favorite in the neighborhood but solid. But the variety of other appetizers and dishes keeps me coming back.

Came here for the first time & know this will be my go to spot. Greeted warmly upon arrival, seated rite away (Tuesday nite at 545p) and the food came quickly. Had some yummy dumplings for appetizer & Ramen for main meal. I appreciated that we were left alone & never rushed out the door. Definitely lots of regulars that come in to enjoy their meal & out the door w in 30 mins. The broth was rich & spicy but not overpowering in my spicey garlic. Volume of the restaurant was never loud & servers were constantly attentive. Highly recommend

Stopped by because I was going to Broadway Comedy Club next door and had an excellent dinner. Ordered classic ramen and the noodles were perfectly firm, the broth was creamy with a delightful umami taste. I got a lychee and sake cocktail-was okay, but tasted a bit artificial. Overall, would love to come back here

Update: After years of coming here, they informed me that my type is no longer welcome here. Time to find a new go-to ramen shop. Still my favorite ramen spot! Had the Kuro ramen during my last visit, it was very good, but my favorite is still the Miso ramen. Awesome place to grab a steaming hot bowl of ramen. These haters on here have no idea what a great bowl of ramen is. Plus some of them talk about menu items that do not exist here at Hide Chan Ramen on 52nd street. I am blown away that this establishment doesn't have a 4 - 4.5 average rating. This place is a true gem.
