mediterranean room.
Melanie at the front desk went above and beyond her duties, and printed our airline tickets for us online. She was very friendly and amazing. she also recommended a great breakfast place called clays. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal there. We highly recommend this hotel. we had a cup of coffee on the terrace overlooking the sea, and it was beautiful. overall very helpful and friendly staff.
Be the first to ReplyGreat to stay nor recommended for a star trip
Beautiful old city and in the center there’s the hotel . Lovely place with furniture that makes you feel good. The property is so within the old city that we find driving to be a challenge with narrow roads and no place to park. So if you come and depart it could be nice but if you plan a star trip it’s not recommended.
Be the first to Replynot close to a 5 star
property is run down and badly in need of refurbishment.property is understaffed as no housekeeping or maintenance people working at night.our shower drain was stopped up and bathroom flooded.they could not deal with this and moved us to another run down room.both rooms had burned out light bulbs and poor air conditioning.Glasses used overnight were left in hall by housekeeping for the entire 2 days we were there.property is no where near a five star.small staff tried to make things nice but could not overcome condition of property.Caesar and Romeo were very helpful but understaffed.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing, negligent management and staff. Shocking Relais & Chateaux
My wife and I have been regular Relais & Chateau customers over a decade. We used to visit this hotel every couple of years but last came to to the Hotel Le Saint-Paul (in the lovely St Paul de Vence) maybe 5 - 7 years ago, when the chef left shortly before we arrived. We decided to give it another try having been assured that there was a new competent chef. However we were very disappointed: - we arrived at 13 00 but our room was not ready until after 17 00 - we had booked a room with a bath and had been assured that we would be given this. However this was not available. We were informed by a junior member of staff that a bath was not part of the grade of room we had booked. This was a clear lie. We assume that our assigned room was assigned to another more favoured guest - the rooms seem bleak and poorly furnished. The fridge was undersupplied - it contained only 5 drinks bottles - The hotel manager had departed by 16 30 and was uncontactable leaving nobody in authority - The staff were dressed as if they were working in Ikea and seemed very inexperienced and lacking leadership Shockingly poor, more Fawlty Towers than a member of a professional chain
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful place with wonderful service
Fantastic location with a homey and cozy feel to it. Service is great and very personal. A bit on a pricey side, but worth spending 1-2 nights in such amazing location. Don't miss breakfast - super fresh and with a beautiful morning breeze. We were not amazed with the dinner though - not worth the money for small portions and long wait. Next time we would dine out in the town.
Be the first to ReplyRare gem, great team, great potential
I chose this hotel for its location in the heart of the charming village of St Paul, removed from the hords of Cannes with its ongoing film festival or other nearby towns like Antibes or Nice. I had stayed at the famed Colombe d’Or and wasn’t sure what to expect , i had booked a suite with a view. It was really well appointed plus a rooftop terrasse with an incredible view of the valley and the Mediterranean course, one of the best features is the central location in the heart of the village, you can walk off the door and meander around the many small alleys that house countless art galleries , bars and retail shops. No parking, no noise, just a lot of steps for exercise (burning calories with French food , always a good idea The 16th century house that was built before the fortifications has an incredible charm but also presents many operational challenges (small rooms, cuisine & laundry amenities, only one elevator, tight stairwells, limited parking and access to car etc…) We were greeted personally by the GM Sebastien upon arrival and from that moment on, this hands-on manager made sure that everything we needed was provided. Sebastien works with a very limited but tight , professional and dedicated team: for what this small village compound doesn’t offer (big elevators, pool, Spa, valet, concierge etc..) this exceptionally warm and professional team makes up with attention to every detail and genuine hospitality. The youthful F&B manager Vincent manages the restaurant and bar with a wonderful team and the kitchen delivers a very simple yet fine cuisine. It is clear that the GM and his team share with the new ownership a great vision to develop this jewel beyond what it currently is: the new cellar/ wine tasting room, the new decorated lounge all point to a great direction to update /enhance this wonderful and unique property that we felt very happy to have discovered.
Be the first to ReplyNice and Nicer
Nice as the namesake, but this place is Nicer. I love to walk around and enjoy the gorgeous view of tranquility also this restaurant are so great, love every bit of the meal on my dish, the crew are so friendly and kindly to present the menu, the chef also professional and gentle. 10/10 recommended.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful place, nice tennis lessons
Great location in the heart of the village, very elegant and spacious room. Unforgettable moments with my husband. Thanks Jean Tennis Coach for the responsiveness and super lessons. We will return with pleasure.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect location/Quality Accomodations
Our room was a tranquil setting in this beautiful village. Although the village was busy with tourists during the day, it was empty and peaceful at night. The staff at the hotel are professional and eager to help. The bed and bedding superior to most.
Be the first to ReplyGood customer service
While the hotel was a little tired, which will be addresses with refurbishment over the winter. However, this made no difference to our enjoyment of the hotel as the staff were very professional and helpful. They went beyond normal service at this type of hotel. Special call out for Nathalie, who answered our questions before our stay on restaurants to book for dinner and also giving us tea making facilities when she noticed that we ordered tea just after our arrival. Very proactive and appreciated.
Be the first to ReplyNice location. Poor service. Horrible gastronomy.
When you book a R&C Hotel (and I do it frequently) you expect (a) a unique location and luxury accommodation, (b) a five-star service, and (c) an excellent gastronomy. Forget it nearly all here. The hotel is indeed uniquely located just in the center of the beautiful village, just in between the main shopping street and the promenade facing the valley. The reception was professional and warm. The suite we booked (number 10) was very spacious, with a great bathroom and overall in good shape, and decorated with taste. But good news end here. Room service: Doesn’t s exist. Cover-up service at night: Only after a lengthy discussion with an unfriendly female receptionist. Bar: Doesn’t exist. Gastronomy: The dinner was a nightmare. Packed in an overcrowded little terrace (just an inch away from the neighbors, no care at all of Corona here), we had the choice between two (!) starters and two (!) main courses. Never have seen such a poor menu offer in a restaurant supposed to be high level. The service was slow and the quality of the dishes average or even lower. But the price tag…, over € 200 for two, just as we have dined in a fine restaurant. You think things can’t be worse? They can. The breakfast… The worse in any hotel during my whole life! No buffet, but table service, as usual sloooow. The coffee, served cold. The fruit salad, tasteless and poor. The pastries, few. No salty things at all. No eggs at all. No nothing at all! Do you a favor, and don’t book breakfast - or, even better: don’t book this hotel. There was one guy at reception who tried at his best to manage all the mess - and I am very grateful for that - but overall, it was an horrible experience.
Be the first to ReplySimply Spectacular!
This hotel, situated in a fortified city with stunning views, is spectacular. The staff, including Natalie, Yoann, Henry, Paul and Anthony were exceptional. Every need met, every question answered, every recommendation superb, and so so kind and attentive. What an incredible 5 days we spent there.
Be the first to ReplyYou won't be disappointed except by the close tables.
Average pretty restaurant in a medieval village.
