Looking for the perfect brunch spot for a delightful date?
Looking for the perfect brunch spot for a delightful date? Look no further than Hudson Clearwater. Tucked away this hidden gem offers an enchanting atmosphere coupled with outstanding service that sets the stage for a memorable sunday brunch experience. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with warmth and hospitality. The attentive staff ensures that your dining experience is nothing short of exceptional. Now, let's talk about the food. We started off with the Hudson Scramble, a hearty blend of scrambled eggs, cheese, tomato, avocado, mushrooms, and onions, served with country toast. It's the ultimate comfort food with a flavorful twist. And if that wasn't enough, we indulged in the Southern Eggs Benedict, featuring perfectly poached eggs, house-cured ham, sautéed spinach, and jalapeño hollandaise, all nestled on a fluffy biscuit. Every bite was a burst of flavor that left us craving more. To accompany our meal, we couldn't resist ordering a side of their potatoes, which were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside - the perfect complement to our brunch feast. Despite being a bustling spot, the food arrived fairly quickly, allowing us to savor every moment of our meal without feeling rushed. In summary, Hudson Clearwater is not just a brunch spot - it's an experience. With its outstanding service, fresh and hearty food offerings, and charming ambiance, it's the ideal destination for a brunch date that's sure to impress.
Definitely not a cheap place, but the vibes are immaculate
Definitely not a cheap place, but the vibes are immaculate for an outdoor drink. Quintessential west village. Come here and lay back and enjoy the summer. Lovely spot to catch up with friends or to go on a date. Service was very friendly. The burrata appetizer was delicious.

The interior of Hudson Clearwater was really nice, like a cozy cabin. The servers were patient and also tried their best to accommodate our dietary restrictions and made us aware of any cross contamination. They were even kind enough to make the home potatoes In the oven. The food was also pretty tasty. I really enjoyed the lemon ricotta pancakes. However, what was striking to all of us on the table were how small the portions were, especially for the price. We all were still pretty hungry at the end, so we weren't fully satisfied.
I don't want to get into it too deeply as I had pretty high
I don't want to get into it too deeply as I had pretty high hopes for this place. But their tap water is a lot worse than other restaurants in the area or in NYC. Like 'there's something going on with the pipes' bad. Which is a bit of a red flag as that's also the water they're using on their pasta (which was good) and in the ice they're putting in all their drinks. Installing some sort of filter here wouldn't be the worst idea in the world for ownership. We switched to the $9 bottle of sparkling water, so I guess they won that one. And then maybe it's because we caught them on Monday night but the kitchen was quite slow. Like 35 minutes between apps and dinner slow. These things are tough to feel out but they were too slow. Also $8 for an Arnold Palmer is absolutely insane. That's not Manhattan pricing that's "we're punishing you for not drinking tonight" pricing. Not a problem with the hostess or with the waitstaff, who were great and kind and attentive and gave us lovely seats in their fantastic outside garden. But the gross tap water and the slow kitchen (again, possibly just because it was Monday night) was tough.
A solid spot for elevated food at NYC prices I've been
A solid spot for elevated food at NYC prices I've been here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner and enjoyed the food both times. Lunch fish sandwich was hearty and excellent and the various egg items also looked great. For dinner, I enjoyed the scallops appetizer (3 for the small portion and 5 for the big), which felt quite refined and light. They have a lot of interesting dishes that can satisfy the veggie and meat lover alike. They have nice outdoor seating in the back and a few tables in the front. It's not a huge place and can fill up quickly. While this place isn't a formal place, it doesn't feel like super approachable and friendly either (subtly uppity?) I don't gravitate toward this but the food has been really good and that's a major factor in wanting to return.
Service was hit and miss.
Don't offer high-end wines. If you don't know how to serve it food was excellent. I will admit that, but really bothered me was having dogs and owners/managers/workers. decide to abscond on a table next to us and have them carelessly have their girlfriend's hair from the whoever on our table, it was rude and disrespectful. My fiancé loves dogs. I'm allergic highly and trust me...These are not service dogs if you want to have your own place go for it but if you want to serve to the public, you need to have some respect which clearly was not the table next to us. overall is a funky place I would recommend it. I just hope you don't get the personality of total disrespectful to the customer. I post photos but I'll keep it aside.
Had a private party here for my birthday in December.
We had the private wine cellar in the basement that sat ten friends comfortably. The food was fantastic, and our waiter was very tentative. We stayed an additional hour after and we moved to the outdoor area which was beautiful. Great spot in the West Village!
I came here for brunch on a weekend.
First, the cinnamon buns are amazing. The food in general is good, and the service is prompt. The interior is designed very prettily. I would definitely return.
Met with a friend for brunch here.
The interior was rustic, yet classy. There was a high end feel to the place. I ordered one of my favorite brunch plates: Steak and Eggs ($29) with rosemary fries. I asked that the eggs be cooked over hard, which they were. They were just okay. The steak was a little too well done, was chewy and on the bland side. The fries were nicely crispy, but had very little rosemary taste. For dessert, I tried the Bread Pudding ($13), which was dark chocolate chunk with chocolate drizzle, chantilly, and slices of orange on the side. The Bread Pudding was slightly warm, but was not like a true bread pudding, and was much more cake like. I enjoyed the richly sweet chocolate component and velvety smooth, creamy chantilly. The orange slices with strawberry on top were a disconnect, and did not pair well with the bread pudding. Service was all right. Pricing wasn't too bad, considering the prime West Village location. I was definitely not satisfied with my meal, so would not return.

WARNING: Do NOT eat here!!! This restaurant was in a great location in the West Village and had the potential to be great! Unfortunately the food was sub-par. I ordered the egg sandwich and it came with no cheese, 1/2 of an egg, and maybe 1/4 of an avocado on it, which for $14 is a scam. On top of it, they charged us $75 for an "open party fee" since we were a party of 6 and did not eat enough food. Mind you everyone in the party ordered an entree and had multiple coffees and juicies. Our bill was $175 but they added an additional $75 to hit a minimum. We called and the manager was hostile and said we were warned when we booked of this charge. Disappointing to say the least.
This is a great little place in NYC.
The service was great, and the food was excellent. If you're looking for a cool NYC experience, I don't think you could go wrong. I highly recommend.
A very busy restaurant in the heart of west village.
I came for brunch over the weekend and it was crowded both indoors and outdoors. Luckily my friend and I had a reservation and only had to wait a few minutes for our table. It's a little small and tight on the inside but nonetheless the atmosphere felt cozy. I ordered the hudson scramble and my friend ordered the ricotta pancakes. Both of us enjoyed our meals! The scramble was filled with veggies and came with a piece of sourdough bread on the side. We ordered espresso martinis which were delicious.
Don't normally get on yelp as it's for the boomers but wow
Don't normally get on yelp as it's for the boomers but wow the drinks were awful tonight. Really enjoyed this place my first time but something was wrong today.... Maybe the bartender. Have had better drinks in Cincinnati, OH.
Got drinks here and it was kinda ass.
The service was not good. Drinks were okay. Can't speak on the food
This place is absolutely lovely.
Went for my birthday a few nights ago--our reservation was made pretty last minute but the staff was super accommodating. The vibe is definitely romantic and relaxed but still very fun. Front of house was a woman whose name was Mica; she was so warm and welcoming and certainly made us feel like we were taken care of completely; likewise, our server (George) was fun and incredibly insightful about the menu. When we moved to the bar after our meal, the bartenders Maximo and Mallory were also so charismatic, knowledgeable, and generous in their care and service. Food and drink was a hit, but definitely the character and caliber of staff was what made the experience so wonderful.

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
