Wonderful dining spot
Elegant fine dining, great space and delicious fare. Despite coming late at night, we were served with grace and made welcome. The dishes were superb.
Be the first to ReplyFine meal, did not meet my lofty expectations
Very high expectations, a little disappointed in the food. Great bar, charming ambiance. Our server Rob was warm and professional. The cornbread and collards were exceptional, and I don’t even like collards! The $17 glass of wine was fine. The dumplings were good, but not exceptional. I was very excited about the locally sourced tile fish, and it was plated beautifully, but a little overcooked. So, a fine meal, but did not meet my lofty expectations.

Husk is hands down the BEST restaurants in Charleston! Husk has a very attentive and knowledgeable staff from servers to their female Sommelier! Everything we ordered was delicious and served hot! We will definitely return next time we’re in Charleston. BRAVO

Great food, ambiance and service! Devil eggs were so good. The bar next door also amazing. Quaint with great selection of whiskey!
Be the first to ReplyGreat bar experience!
We had heard good reviews for the restaurant but weren't that hungry. We decided to have cocktails and apps in the bar and patio area. The upstairs bar was cozy and inviting. Our waitress Lauren was so welcoming. The fish dip was excellent but have to say (and this seems crazy), but they had absolutely the best fries we have ever eaten! Will definitely be back for the bar and the restaurant!
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely amazing! Do not miss out on this experience!
Do not miss this experience. So glad we made early reservations a month in advance. From drinks to appetizers to entrees and desserts everything , absolutely everything was unbelievable. The service was amazing and the atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. Certainly one of the top dining experiences any of us had ever had. I wish I could give it ten stars!
Be the first to ReplyMore Than A Meal…
Two friends and I were in Charleston for four days celebrating my 65th birthday. My youngest daughter recommended Husk and made our reservation. I’m so glad she did. We had great meals in Charleston and this was hands down our favorite. It was more than a meal…it was an experience! Our server, Tal, was so personable and knowledgeable, and made sure we were treated like royalty. This will my new go-to when in Charleston.
Be the first to ReplyYum!
The menu here changes, nearly daily, to accommodate the freshest ingredients. The service, menu and food were all top notch and one of the best we had while visiting Charleston. Highly recommend this one - reservations needed!
Be the first to ReplyFirst class meal and ambiance
Delicious food, attentive service and classy atmosphere is what we found when we went to Husk on New Year's Eve. We started off with drinks in the next door bar - a very charming place that is worth popping into even if you aren't eating at the restaurant. Everyone at the table enjoyed a different entree - catfish, beef, chicken and pork - and all were pleased with their selections. While pricey, the portions were good and we appreciated the creative and tasty presentations that did not involve the "usual" side accompaniments. Dessert was a great way to end the evening. We had dined here one time before a few years back but enjoyed this meal and there service much more than our prior experience.
Be the first to ReplyPleasant but underwhelmed
We had reservations well in advance of our trip, for brunch on a Sunday. We were seated promptly and the atmosphere was very nice, in this historic old house. We ordered our mimosas, which came fairly quickly. Our server was very sweet. The appetizer was the ricotta donuts - they were a nice spongecake texture but did not really work alone or with the lemon/thyme sauce (alone, thus was tasty). We ordered steak and butter lettuce with buttermilk dressing. The steak and salad was bland and took forever to arrive. Overall, underwhelming for price.
Be the first to ReplyNot good
Went to the bar patio side since the restaurant was full. Lackluster bar staff, coupled with suspect signature drinks and absolutely foul “ink rigatoni”. I’m normally easily pleased and can find something nice to say. I should have checked out their extensive bourbon selection.
Be the first to ReplyCreative Southern Food
My wife and I had dinner here our first night in town. As one would expect, there are a number of excellent "Southern" restaurants in Charleston. What I would say is that Husk is for a more adventuresome eater. The menu is creative and different but might not be for everyone. My wife and I enjoyed it very much. The service was excellent and as we found as we ate our way through Charleston the good restaurants have excellent wait staffs. We followed the waiter's advice and were not disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyUnpretentious, elevated Southern food
We had dinner at Husk while visiting Charleston and would highly recommend. The food here is simply amazing. You can tell that the ingredients being used are fresh and amazing quality. The cornbread had so much flavor- it was reminiscent of food in times past. My husband had rabbit over grits, while I had the most perfectly executed fish. Dessert was something I will dream about for years to come. Our server Sean was knowledgeable, friendly and gave us hospitality that is relaxed and unpretentious- a true professional. We will be back!
Be the first to ReplyBest meal in Charleston
The food was beautifully presented and wonderfully combined to highlight the tastes. All local and fresh. The pork lettuce wraps were amazing and I could have had a whole meal of those. Chicken and Brussel sprouts were also delicious. The only item I would not order again was the bread pudding, but that's just my preference for something a bit lighter. I'm so glad we made reservations here well in advance. Totally worth it.
Be the first to ReplyWhat was that..?
Was excited to try this place until we actually got there… Deconstructed scallop was awful, half chicken tasted like a grocery store and my steak tasted had a beef stew texture. Never again. Please don’t fall for the hype. The menu items were rabbit, sheep head, and lamb balls… get a new chef
Be the first to ReplyExcellent, interesting food in an elegant setting
Lovely old building renovated in an elegant, casual style. Inventive, interesting food and a great cocktail selection. We also appreciated the uncrowded table spacing which resulted in a very comfortable noise level. So nice to be able to hear your dinner companion while appreciating a great meal

Almost gave them a 5. Food was delicious and so was the wine. chicken. Waiter was attentive but a bit loud for the environment.
Be the first to Replya disappointing dinner
I always book a reservation at Husk when we go to Charleston, and have always had an exceptional experience there. So I was really disappointed when we had dinner there in January. The staff's arrogance was an immediate turnoff. We had a reservation at 5:45. We got there at 5:42, and the staff told us to sit down and they would seat us at 5:45. Since they were being so punctilious about time, when it was 5:45, I wanted to jump up and demand that table! It seemed so pointless, since at that early time, the restaurant was still quite empty. When we got dinner, the food was not good. My husband had a pork chop, and he couldn't eat it at all. I had a half chicken which had an odd aftertaste. The waitress never came by to ask us if we were enjoying our dinner, and when she came to clear the table, she didn't ask if there was a problem. Since my husband had left almost his entire dinner, I asked her about the sauce which was on the pork, and still, she didn't say anything acknowledging that we weren't eating. All this for $155 before the tip! It made me think that everyone who works there is so aware that they work at a famously great restaurant, and they don't need to earn the loyalty of their guests. I will go to Husk again, but probably for lunch next time. Everybody has an off night sometimes...
Be the first to ReplyFabulous Meal
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Husk. We had the Snapper and the Catfish. The Snapper was beautifully prepared with nicely crisped skin and succulent flesh. The buttery sauce had some kumquats in it which gave the fish a buttery and mildly citrus accent. Delicious! The Catfish was simply corn meal breaded and deep fried perfectly, but was accented with two remarkably flavored sides of collared greens and dirty rice each which gave the fish a different flavor when combined on the fork. Unbelievably simple yet beautiful. For desert we had the Chocolate mousse which was pure happiness! Our server great too! The best meal we have had in our past week of travels by far. Don’t miss this one.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely Fantastic
My wife and I and my friends are there for dinner last Sunday. Absolutely blow away by everything. Service was attentive, had fantastic recommendations, very detailed descriptions of the preparation of food. The food. My god. Apps: pimento cheese with chili crisp, ham and biscuit plate and the tomato & peach salad. May have been the best course of the meal. Entrees: steak, cornmeal catfish, pastramied swordfish, and squid ink rigatoni. Swordfish with kohlrabi slaw was unlike anything I’ve ever had and the tomato gravy with the catfish was an amazing bite. Dessert: peach beignets & the charred sweet corn ice cream with miso sorghum. So good. Top 5 meal for me. Worth every penny.
Be the first to ReplyOkay vs. Others in Area
We left feeling like it was a nice place for a meal but were a little displeased. We tried pimento cheese almost everywhere we went in Charleston, and we were not big fans of the chili flavor here. The portions were a bit small for the prices. I ordered the Snapper and will say - the farro, corn, peppers mix was very good!
Be the first to ReplyDisappointed
I was looking forward to going to Husk because of the ratings. Very disappointing! Service was lacking and none of the food items complimented each other, everything was very individual and odd.
Be the first to ReplyI didn’t get the hype
People told us that we had to go to Husk when were in town. We did, and it did not live up to the hype. The building and grounds were nice, and they shoved tables in every available spot in the lovely old converted home. The service was not very attentive or offered much to add to our experience. Our group of 6 shared the Pimento cheese ball appetizer, it big enough for 6, but had only enough crackers for 4 people. The $10 cornbread was just cornbread with butter, I don’t know where the bacon crumble was supposed to be? My spouse had the $43 SC Grass-Fed Beef, best description would be tough and chewy. I had the $38 Blue Crab Rigatoni, the rigatoni was good, the crab meat was hard to find. The best part was probably the $13 Dragoon Punch, our friends enjoyed their special cocktails as well. Their food choices were apparently better than ours. When you add on the 3 different taxes, our bill came to $109. Hard to justify.

Our daughter researched and recommended a dinner at Husk. It was beyond amazing…familiar items served in delicious new ways!! Highly suggest a dinner there when in Savannah.
