Top notch Italian cuisine at a very fair price.

Good time Charlie here and I am going to take you back to a time in a distant past where goodfellas and street toughs ran the neighborhoods. The food here is incredible. The service is excellent. The tables and the paper is absolute trash. But I will always go back, salud
Be the first to ReplyThe chicken picatta and cheese ravioli are amazing.
This place is famous for its chicken picatta so I recommend trying that dish the first time you go. The service is good, the waitstaff is nice. The restaurant itself is always clean and cozy. I love going to this restaurant for special occasions and date nights.

Today in honor of St Patrick's day, I ordered the Boiled dinner to go . Food may have been reheated in the microwave , because the meat was crusted and dry. Not a happy customer for $18.05 meal.

Bar none this place serves the best chicken piccata you will ever have in your life! If you are in Massachusetts or just visiting, make a trip here to order this dish! Trust me you won't regret it! Source: A former South Lancaster, MA resident.

We went to Il Camino for dinner and my wife didn't like her meal; she said it was too much garlic. I tasted it and there was a crazy amount of garlic. She tried my meal and liked it and we split it. The waitress came by and asked if everything was OK and we told her about the meal that was too much garlic and we said it was aweful. The waitress took the meal away but didn't take it off the bill. I didn't look at the bill while I was there and tipped $30 not realizing until I got home that I payed for a meal we didn't eat....

Where to begin?! Ambiance? There was none! Rubbery table cloths, tables set up in such a way that the back of my chair was bumped into by waitresses throughout the meal...so one star for ambience. If the food is good, well who needs ambience?! Unfortunately, the food was worse than the atmosphere. The red sauce appeared to be nothing more than puréed tomatoes. If there were herbs and spices in it, they were not discernible to anyone in our party of four. My friends who selected the restaurant were mortified and apologetic. We were all slightly embarrassed to be sitting there. I find it hard to believe that any of the positive reviews were written by anyone who has ever tasted good, homey, Italian food. Nonna would be very disappointed. (The only reason I gave it two stars is because the waitress was pleasant. I should probably toughen up. I guess if I cannot recommend a single aspect of a restaurant it probably deserves a single star) If you are looking for good old fashioned simple Italian food, sorry, you'll have to keep looking.
Be the first to ReplyGreat tasting food at a reasonable price for lunchtime.
Building is a bit rundown, but looks can be deceiving at first. You won't be disappointed-

What it lacks in decor and atmosphere it more than makes up for with great Italian food and decent service. Good pasta dishes and entrees. It's like going back in time to the 1980s for Italian food.

Was craving chicken Parmesan figured I'd try this place out pulling into the lot. Not an impressive building needs some thing. Walked in and really looked terrible I almost turned around. But I didn't. Was greeted fairly quickly and was sat down in a dark dank dining room. Ordered my meal and was brought some bread and a salad. Creamy Italian dressing was really good. Salad was good bread was good my meal came and. It was just ok. The red sauce is red I'll give them that. 2 chicken cutlets on a separate plate next to my angel hair. (In a bowl). Different. Usually served chicken parm over pasta ? Am I wrong? Place definitely needs an overhaul I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. Wasn't a terrible experience. But nothing crave worthy. Maybe the salad dressing is worth the return visit. I'll try another spot next time. My search for amazing Italian food continues
Be the first to Replycame here with my family and the service was horrible.
we sat down and were not given utensils or napkins. The waitress was harsh and then it took almost 30 minutes to get our check. Food is below average at best.

Walking in you see a sign stating that they are short staffed. Turn around and leave! The staff is aloof and cold towards the customers. The dining room has a space heater that isn't even turned on and the dining room was very cold. Not very inviting, no candles, no flowers, just brown paper throw away " tablecloths". The ambiance is totally gone. It wasn't a great dining experience. Red sauce isn't the same as before . The salad had one olive, one tomato and a cucumber and that is all you get. (Can't request another olive ) Owner maybe isn't interested in the restaurant anymore, and should close it down perhaps.
Be the first to ReplyThe worst service and food I ever had.
Everyone said this was great it wasn't. The building is a dump and the food was just covered by untasted sauce. Salad looked like they opened an old bag and dumped it onto the dish, threw in a couple of tomatoes and cucumbers that should of stayed in the refrigerator as they were nasty. The cheesecake a very tiny slice was plopped on a dish with a little dots of whipped cream and strawberries out of a container.. Totally not worth the $43.00 for two people or my goats. Don't waste your money and go to MacDonalds instead.

The building really does not accurately represent the quality of the food being offered, nor the caliber of the staff within. The food and cocktails were all excellent, way better than I had initially expected. I had the seafood casserole, and it was fantastic...and I am saying that after visiting Italy for a month. Our waitress, Laurel was also fantastic, warm, attentive and made our experience so fun. This is little golden gem in an out of the way location worth a drive to experience.

We arrived about 5:00 on a Thursday, and were promptly seated. There were only a few cars in the lot, and an ominous paper in the hall stating they were short handed. The table was covered with craft paper, we got one paper napkin each. No candle or flower or anything on the table, like Zero-1 ambience. This is not someplace you want to take a first date. We ordered soup, a large antipasto, Veal Parmigian and an eggplant lasagna dish. The minestrone soup was so-so. The antipasto was large, but very little on it, I would not recommend it. Other places we go have chick peas, roasted peppers, pepperoncini, etc. The veal was about 1/2" thick, and tough. You're supposed to pound it 'til it's tender. My dish came out and we could hear yelling in the kitchen that our lasagna dish was never made. My veal was cold, and my partner had to wait for hers. Our server Nicole was good, considering she had about 15 tables to tend. The whole time we were there, the phone was ringing off the hook, it seems this has become like a fast food place now, not a dining destination. There's clearly no love in the food here now. It was a very dissapointing mediocre meal...

We've been coming to this restaurant for many years and they really need to get it together. The restaurant looks the same it's looked for decades now, but we can overlook that as long as the food is the same as always. The last couple of visits have been a big disappointment. Dinner tonight was abysmal. They may be understaffed, they may have new chefs, I'm not sure what the scoop is but it's completely different from any other visit we have had. Staff seemed aloof and cool toward the customers arriving for dinner. Our old standbys for dinner looked completely different, the red sauce tasted different. The waitress was nice but for it to take 45 minutes to get our simple dinner items was not acceptable at all. Larger parties that were seated after us were almost finished their meals before ours arrived. There was no followup after the dinner was finally served until she brought our check. The "tablecloths" from the big roll of paper don't make a nicer dining experience, this just makes the whole feel of the rooms less inviting. The little table at the entrance of the main dining room on the left, and also in direct line of fire to be blasted by cold air every time the front door is opened, should be moved. Nobody enjoys eating dinner while being frozen.
Be the first to ReplyPeople in the area love this place, I don't get it.
Food is not real Italian, long waits for the food, horrible decoré, insufficient waitresses for the number of tables, not very clean
Be the first to ReplyThe food was really good but my friend and I had to wait
The food was really good but my friend and I had to wait initially to get seated for a long amount of time. The environment wasn't totally inviting either. I got the chicken parmigiana and it made up for the most part everything I just listed as a negative.

Well it hashappened, going her for thirty years love it,ordered take out the other night,we went and pick up the 5 meals(vary)went home,7 minutes awy,and it was the worst ive ever had there, chicken pic was cold and rubbery,3 dinners, the pasta meals,2,where cold to the touch, what a shame but i see that they just dont care any more, you charge a good price and the sause cant even be warm?come on cooking 1 o 1......... time to find a new place that isnt living in the past, get yo sheet together il camino.
Be the first to ReplyNot bad, not anything fancy, but pretty decent.
So here's the scoop.. My sister just took me hear the other night, she said she's heard good things. It reminded me of the old restaurants you went to as a kid in the 70's.. a little shabby.. but no problemo. 1'st offbread & butter basket mehh standard. A little better then wonder bread.. sadly not those warm fancy loaves you sometimes get at places. Now the reviews said: "Ohhh get the chicken piccata its fantastic! "Exct.. I also heard the waitress recommended it to the guy next to us.. we are known for it she said... so I was not gonna blow my chance to top-notch meal! (Even if I WAS in the mood for a red sauce) So I went ahead and ordered it, & got my pasta with a butter garlic Wowza! I was breathing garlic cloves for two days! Can't lie the piccata..., not that great at all! What is everyone talking about?? I don't understand!!? I make it way better! No capers, no lemon tangy taste.. no nothing! really it just tasted like a thickened butter sauce.. very plain I'm perplexed. ((did i catch You know what.. & I lost my sense of taste ?!?)) But no.. my sisters dish was tasty delish! She got eggplant Parm, I have to say the Red Sauce was great! ( I just struck out again per usual lately. ) Its all good though, my gallbladder wasn't happy with all that butter, The moon didn't hit my eye like a big pizza pie & it wasn't Amore.. but it was o.k. I say that because.. my sisters was great, the tiramisu we split was really good too! So I guess you can't win them all!
Be the first to ReplyHate to say it won't be back.
We always give at least 3 chances and maybe we just have had bad luck but every time we get uncooked chicken and its a shame because the piccata is very good. Id love to just get piccata and maybe make my own chicken at home but definitely won't be back for a while. We don't mess around we uncooked chicken. Gotta chop ya!

In an city with few options it is as good as it gets for Italian food. The waitresses are often cranky and the dining room is ancient. Order takeout Chicken Picatta or Palm and you can't go wrong.
Be the first to ReplyWe were staying at Great Wolf Lodge and wanted something
We were staying at Great Wolf Lodge and wanted something different and this place did not disappoint! We ordered takeout and it was available in 20 minutes, which was amazing. I ordered the chicken piccata and it was really good. Not too tart, just perfect. Husband ordered chicken parm and had chicken fingers for the kiddos. The red sauce on the spaghetti was really good as well. Both Entrees came with a salad which was not just iceberg lettuce, which I appreciated! Bread was average, but who really cares when entrees are amazing. Only thing, I thought the piccata came OVER pasta, I didn't realize it came on the side. Definitely recommend and would go back!
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best Italian meals I've had.
Everything from beginning to end was great. Known for their chicken piccata, so of course I got that. And it was different from what I've had elsewhere but it was also amazing. The breaded cutlet was perfect, the sauce was delicious. I couldn't even finish it as I loaded up on some tasty bread and salad before. Service was friendly and welcoming. I'll be back. Worth the drive no matter where you're coming from.
